This shampoo works pretty well, I noticed my hair was easier to manage after using this and it smells ok.

This really didn't smooth anything down. My hair was frizzy and the ends were dried out. I can't bear to use it a third time!

I bought this shampoo thinking it would smooth out my kinda frizzy wavy hair. It kinda did. The scent is different, but not really bad. I kinda liked it. I kinda got a case of the itchies, but I think it was from the conditioner. I kinda can't be sure. See my review on the Smooth-Intense conditioner.

I'm REALLY impressed with this shampoo. I also bought the conditioner, and use the anti-frizz serum to finish up. In the past I have used the Pantene Smooth and Sleek line, as well as trying the Kerastase shampoo/masque at my friend's house. Since they are both owned by L'Oreal, I figured this shampoo would be comparable to the Kerastase line. It made my hair extremely manageable, and gave me that second-day hair look (you know how if you shampoo/condition your hair, style, etc..and the next day it looks GREAT because all the frizzies have been slept on, natural oils, etc...i'm sure most of you know what i'm talking about). Anyway, this is DIRT cheap! I paid 2.99 at Target for it, and there was a coupon in the paper foday for 75cents off. Unbelievable! I like it much better than the Pantene. Definitely a new favorite!
**UPDATE - still loving this line of products. I noticed that it seems my hair doesn't get as greasy by the second day, as it usually does. Usually, if I wash my hair, the next day until about noon it's great, and after that it's a greaseball. I've noticed that now, it stays great for the entire second day and doesn't start turning greasy until the 3rd day (when I would wash it again anyway). Anyway, I'm still really impressed, and this is just an added bonus!

I've been using Pantene Sleek shampoo and conditioner for a while before switching to L'oreal Smooth intense shampoo and conditioner. The L'oreal shampoo & conditioner worked pretty okay for me. My hair is straighter, less tangles, and more easily managed. But I still have to use a flat iron to get my hair super straight. But at least I can now blow dry my hair somewhat straight looking with my special straightening brush alone.

I don't think the shampoo cleans very well though. I usually wash my hair every other day, but with this shampoo my hair gets too oily the next day. People who wash their hair every day should have no problem with this.

Was hoping to find a drugstore replacement for Matrix Sleek look. This L'Oreal shampoo and conditioner don't even come close. I even have frizzies from them. Wasted my money. I will stick with Matrix.

I actually like this shampoo. I have thick, dry, straight hair and this shampoo and conditioner combination helps me to manage my hair. It feels soft and managable. The conditioner doesn't build up, and has just about the right amount of conditioner.

I would not buy this unless the shampoo is bundled with the conditoner though, I'd buy Thermasilk for $3.50.

I don't find that this shampoo is anything special. It seems to cleanse gently, but not very thoroughly. I like the scent and packaging, but my hair doesn't seem smoother after using it.

I really wanted to fall in love with this shampoo, but it just ain't happening. This shampoo isn't the worst I've used, but it definitely is nowhere close to being the best. I like the packaging, the smell, and the fact that it lathers so well. I also got it dirt cheap at a local drugstore along with a conditioner, so it was a real deal. But it just doesn't do much to soften the hair, or to get rid of the frizzies. In fact, if anything, L'Oreal Curl Vive shampoo worked much better on my frizzy, out of control curls. I won't be repurchasing.

I don't mind this shampoo - I'm currently looking for my HG and this is definitely not it. I guess maybe I'm looking for something higher-end that does something more for my thick, sometimes frizzy hair. The lather is nice, the smell is nice, but when I dry my hair, it's still kind of frizzy. I still have to use product to smooth it down - maybe I'm asking for too much from a shampoo. If anyone can suggest a higher-end product that works for slight frizzy, coarse, thick hair, PLEASE let me know. I am SO into experimenting!

This is an okay shampoo for my thick, straight, frizzy in hot weather hair. Does smooth out the frizzies just a bit--but no dramatic improvement--I dont see my hair looking 3xs smoother as the bottle advertises. Smells nice though. Also, my hair feels a bit drier--dont know if it's the shampoo? I'll probably look for another frizz-reducing, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner once I finish a bottle of this.

Love this - its gentle and softening without being heavy and greasy on my fine (but lots of it) color treated hair. I really like this shampoo, it is not in the least drying and feels great, I dont need as much conditioner when I have used this (considering I usually use conditioner in massive amounts). Definitely buy this again, its as good as Kerastatse in my opinion.

A great product if your hair is dry and coarse as mine is. Really smoothes down the frizzies and adds a great shine. Also tried the matching conditioner which I really enjoyed using, too. The lather is nice and luxurious with a very pleasant scent. I also found that when I blew dry straight my hair was much easier to style. If you're looking for a shampoo to calm those frizzies down, give this one a try. I would definitely repurchase both the shampoo and conditioner.
