I came across this jar of moisturizer at my local Body Shop store and thought it was really neat. It claimed to mattify your face using it's seaweed extracts. I was excited about it because my face can get really oily, especially in the summer. So I go home and put it on my face, and waited for it to dry. I honestly did not see a difference at all. Maybe it was my inexperience with moisturizers but to me, I did not see a difference. The packaging was cute and the texture of the product was light and gel-like, but i would not repurchase. I really wanted to like it for what it claimed, but it really did not make my skin matte.

I hated this product at first but I decided to give it go again and I'm glad I did. It's a gel texture, absorbs quickly and makes my skin totally matte. It's been moisturizing enough to wear it under makeup and has not broken me out. I purchased with with the cleaner, toner and treatment which I don't care for. It's very light and refreshing, I think I'm gonna finish the product at the end of the summer.

I bought this product in the travel size to test it. It didn't worked for me. First I didn't liked the smell, it was like a men product but it has a really good texture and absorbs rapidly so my first impression was good. After 3 or 4 days my skin was a complete disaster. I had several breakouts and something I can't understand, I had lots of blackheads, so the cream was completely clogging my pores. It's been a month since I stopped using it and I still have some problems. By far is one of the worst products I've used in my life. Even if you don't react to this product the fact that it is comedogenic makes it a terrible thing, please don't use a product that can clog your pores.

I am surprise this is not rated as one of the tops. I have used this product for 4 years and can't even remember how many jars I have ran through. This is the best mattifying product I have tried. Most mattifying products puts a layer on your skin and feels like it only prevents the oil from coming through but this product feels like it soaks it to moisturizes and controls the shine. There is still some shine after like 5 hours on my face but it is much improvement from a lot of products I have tried. I absolutely love this product and it lasts longer than it seems. When I first bought it, I thought it would be gone in a month or I would probably stop using it after a few tries, but it has been four years and I always have to have an extra one in my bathroom. I hope The Body Shop never stops making this product!!

I love the smell of the seaweed line, but this did nothing for my skin. It made my skin soft for a little while after I applied it, but it felt dry after a short while and I had to keep reapplying. It also made me break out after a few days.

I like the scent, the gel-cream texture, it absorbs quickly, leaves skin smooth, soft, matt, doesn't break me out BUT I won't buy again because it's supposed to be a moisturising cream and it doesn't offer enough hydration to my combination/ acne-prone skin...

It's not the best moisturiser for me but it's the better moisturiser I have for now (my other moisturisers are not doing great for my skin). I don't love it but I don't hate it as well.
Firstly, what I like about this product is its texture and scent. It's like a watery gel and my skin absorbs it fairly quickly. It doesn't really mattify but my skin would look hydrated and a little dewy. The smell is, I wouldn't say subtle but it's not choking as well. It's pleasant to my nose anyway.
Alright, so that sums up the likes. And now we move on to dislikes. The main thing I don't like about this moisturiser is that after a few hours, my face gets oily anyway. Packaging is slightly inconvenient and not hygienic. Oh yeah! It doesn't have spf and skin whitening properties as well. As I live in a tropical country, I am constantly exposed to the sun. During the time of using this moisturiser my face looks darker than my neck does.

i LOVE this cream. the first day i applied this to my skin, it was the first day in my life that i didn't feel oily at the end of the day, MIRACLE. now i'm into my second tub, i do feel that my skin is getting used to this product and my face does get a little dewy and glowy by the end of the day, but nothing too severe like before. i would really recommend this product to anyone, it does moisturize my combination skin pretty well in the spring/summer time. i haven't tried using this in the winter, but i think i would have to use my aveeno moisturizer in combination with it to avoid flaking. overall this product is AMAZING and saved my face! and it smells really nice and has a nice cooling sensation when you put it on your face, and you only need a pea-size for your whole face!

i bought a sample size of this at TBS and oh my it was terrible i used it for maybe 2 or 3 days and i found dry patches of skin all over my face i wanted to cry =( i have combo skin so i thought it'll make my T zone a little less oily but my t zone remain the same except for a little patch by the side of my nose. i use Garnier moisture rescue all through the winter and it was good but since summer is coming i thought i'd try something different but never again

It works well on me. :D The texture's okay, for it's not a cream, but gel-like. It leaves my face matte, moisturized, and fresh at the same time.
I've been using Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream for a year and it never cause any problem for my face.
Maybe I'll repurchase (I've used 2 jars of it), but I actually want to try for another day moisturizer from The Body Shop. Like Vitamin E or Tea Tree. :)

This moisturizer is so great! I've been using it for years. I have combination skin and after i exfolliate and put this on it makes my skin soo soft and smooth without making it greasy at all. I love the smell, it is very light and refreshing. I totally recommend this to people with sensitive skin who tend to break out easily. It is by far my favorite moisturizer. I have stepped away from it before but I always come back for more! I give it an A+

This has worked well on my eczema and acne prone skin, and does mattify but after a few hours my face still gets oily. Took about a month of use, but now my face is as clear as it's ever been. I also use the passion fruit face cleanser, which was only $2.

Out of the entire line, this seems to be the product that reacted the worst with my skin. For the first few days, it was GREAT. On day four or so I woke up with a huge breakout and this "line" was the only thing new to my routine. The algin and algae extract seem to not get along with my combo skin.
This makes me sad as this product does do it's job, and it feels good on my skin. It's a great consistency as well. It just does not work for me... will not repurchase.

I have very oily/acne prone skin and I bought this product because Ive read so many good reviews about it. my first impression was that I liked the scent of it, and I used this after I washed my face. As soon as you put it on, u get a cool sensational feeling, and it leaves ur skin feeling matte, but it is supposed to help with oil and shine control. Ive been using the same one i bought back in december and i really havnt noticed any change in my oily tzones, and i primarily use this as a primer. it leaves ur skin feeling kindof rubberish my boyfrend had said and it leaves your skin soft but does not help in fighting oily tzones. the price is good for the product - around $14 and ive been using the same container i got back in december for about 3-4 months now. i am contemplating whether or not i want to go buy another one, but maybe i wil and also try their toner as well.

I have purchased the full size of this at least 5 times. It costs about $15 plus tax. I haven't been without it for the past 4 years or so.
I use this as a primer under my mineral makeup. It works so well! I find it leaves a thin film on my skin which sounds bad, but it is great b/c that is what the foundation sticks to. It must be all the 'cones in it that make this product a good primer. I am very acne-prone and I haven't noticed any clogging with use. I find the price is very reasonable, especially since one 50g tub lasts me over a year (used 2X/week). I would prefer a pump dispenser but I haven't had any issues with the tub.
It is lightly fragranced but that doesn't irritate my nose or my skin.
I don't wear this product when I am going bare-faced. On these days I use Vichy Normaderm instead, which leaves my skin super smooth... so smooth & matte that my mineral makeup won't stick to my face.

Hands down, this is my favourite facial product. I would give up all other face cleansing products if I could get a never ending supply of this -- seriously.
It retails for $13, which at first I thought was steep, but purchased because I love The Body Shop. Immediately, I noticed a difference, as it completely absorbed into my skin and left it feeling fresh and light.
In long term use, I have noticed a really dramatic loss of excess oil on my skin. I do have combination skin and I find my oil zone is my forehead, while the rest of my face migrates between normal and slightly dry. Now, my forehead is regulated and I don't find myself having to use blotting papers or even a face rinse. In addition, the rest of my face is moisturized. It sounds so strange, but it really did work effectively and balanced my face.
Also, it reduced a lot of redness in my face. I spoke to a few other users, as well as my friends at The Body Shop, and they say this is normal. For me, that's a definite plus.
I know many people don't like this product. This is my favourite product in my entire washroom. My face is my biggest insecurity and this product helps me balance and be confident with my skin, which I think is a great thing.

i love the texture and how it sinks just right after you apply it on your face. It leaves your skin feeling so soft. i have combination to oily skin and i needed a moisturizer that's not too heavy for my skin and i gave this a try. it gave me bad break out! i used it with the seaweed clarifying toner. it was only working for an hour after i put it on, after that my skin was back to oily! will not buy again and will not finish the one i bought.

During the christmas holidays they were having a sale on their miniature products ( 5 for $10.00 CAN) so I decided to give it a try. I don't really like that it's in a tub, but I make sure my hands are clean before applying. While applying this it looks as if it's moisturizing the skin but for me it ended up being a mere illusion. It mattifies yeah, but my skin looked sooo dry. Then again it is winter, and the harsh wind and frigid air do dry out my usually oily skin. At the moment I'm unimpressed with the product, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt that I may be using it in the wrong season....Truthfully I'm undecided on whether I'm going to purchase it again, but for now I'll say no...I may give it a try again in the summer (when my face resembles an oil-slick). I'm going to finish the little container by using it as a night-cream...meh

I shall be blunt; this is the worst moisturiser I have ever bought. I was expecting at least something decent as the shop assistant was really selling it to me. However, I had to apply 3x what I usually apply as it wasn't moisturising enough and I don't have very dry skin either. I also noticed it stung when I applied yet I continued use as normal as I didn't want to waste my money on something then throw it away - it wasn't a very painful stinging, just isn't what you expect from a moisturiser! The packaging could be improved, however the pot wasn't much of a problem, it was, in fact, useful for me because as I mentioned, I had to apply a lot to feel moisturised and so the pot helped me scoop out a lot at once. It also made my skin feel quite oily after a few hours, this may have been because of the amount I used - however I tried applying less and my face became tight and then became oily anyway.
The only pro I can say, is that it does mattify. Other than that, ladies, it is just not worth it! There are hundreds of other creams that are far better out there.
