Some people love this, but its not for my prone to greasiness, limp, wavy hair. I was looking around in my vanity for old hair stuff to try use up ( project 10 pan for your hair) and i found this obnoxious tall container and in huge black letters it said GUTS. I was imediatly curious. And i , not reading the instructions, squirted a generous dollop of this sticky mousse onto my clean hand and worked it in. Note: I did this around five at night, so my hair would have already had hair stuff in it. I looked in the mirror and my thin hair lay thin and greasy on my shoulders. Gross. I attacked it with a blowdryer and heat protectant, to try and get volume back. And i then looked in the mirror. My hair looked nice.Bouncy, voluminous but no shine.
Works well with heat (before or after) NOT ON WET HAIR your hair will never dry and if miracallly, it will be bathing in an oil bath. Would i reccomend it NO. Well not for my type of hair. Better stuff you can get. Cheaper. More worthwhile.

LOVE this stuff!!! I find it gives my hair more, and longer lasting, volume than mousse and a softer feel. Excellent for blow dry styles, especially using a round brush. I spray it only on the roots and love how the super-direct spray goes right where I want. After I spray on a "strip" of Guts, I gently work it into my roots, and move on to the next section of hair.
A little goes a long way. Be sure to shake it well so that it "foams" up before applying. If not, the results are too sticky. I gave it a "3" for packaging because I find the cap a little obnoxious. However, that's not such a big deal. I will definitely continue to buy this product, it's a styling product I won't be without.

I love this product. I always have a can in the bathroom and although I try other things in between, this is a constant . I get great volume & bounce w/o a filmy feel to my hair. I spray it in my hands first, then i rub it into my roots.....Just don't use too much or it could make the hair feel heavy/filmy (if that's a word)!!

No volume, makes my hair crusty and sticky.

I have both fine and thin hair, meaning if I don't style my hair correctly you can see patches of scalp.
I swear by this stuff and have done so for years, it bulks up the root area wonderfully. I have used a few other products but after one or two tries have come back to this.
The most important thing is to not to use too much (I sometimes spray it on my fingers and then add it to the roots) AND you must use a hair dryer to get it to work, natural drying will not work.
I'm not a big fan of brushing this through my hair aft, I feel it makes my hair ends straw like. I only add it to the roots.
Yeah not keen on the smell either and I think it is expensive but the payoff is worth it - I just feel more confident :)

I use Guts 10 every day. It's a great volumizing product, and has a very soft hold to it, not stiff like some other volumizing products I've used. I have thin, fine, flat hair that goes greasy very easily. Very surprised to see people saying this is greasy and sticky... I do not find this product to be greasy at all!! Maybe they are using this incorrectly.
Here is how I use Guts 10:
Shake the can first, I find this makes the product more foamy and easier to work with. Use it in towel dried hair. Lift up sections with a brush and spray right at the root (I mostly concentrate on the crown since that is where I like the most volume). Just a quick spray, you don't want to soak your hair with product. After spraying, I run a brush lightly through my hair to distribute the product more evenly. Then I use a round brush and blow dry my bangs and crown area first. Once these areas are dry, I flip my head upside down and dry the underneath layers. Then I flip my hair back, give a gentle brush and run a flat iron through my ends quickly. I don't even need to use hairspray to hold the volume or to keep my bangs in place!!!
I have recieved one can that the nozzle stopped working. I simply exchanged it for a new one. Considering I'm on my third full-sized can and have used 2 travel sized, only having problems with one can isn't a big deal!! Also, the smell isn't bad at all, in my opinion. It only has a slight scent when you first spray it, and it disappears quickly.
Guts 10 is definitely HG status for me!

This is a staple for when I'm doing my hair in big curls or just big and straight. It works really well, but be careful not to get too much on the roots and to spray from a far enough distance. The smell is pretty bad, but it goes away right after you spray it. Also, I've found that it works the best if you lift up the layers and spray underneath and then blowdry with a large round brush. That leaves lasting volume. I do reccomend this despite the steep price, just because I havent found anything similar that is any cheaper that works as well.

I wasn't impressed with this product. I have fine hair but LOTS of it and I wanted a good lifting product for my roots. Well I find that this product is no different than applying some mousse at your roots -and would be cheaper. This gave my hair a dry /damaged feel to it and adds no shine. -Not to mention the spray nozzle didn't work over half the time!

Guts is an absolute must have for people with fine hair. If you buy it from a salon (not Target who sells the damaged cans) this product will not fail you. I use it on my roots only (mostly around my crown and where I part my hair) and it gives my hair a ton of volume. On days when I'm in a hurry and forget to use it, I can definitely tell a huge difference. I've used many "root lifter" products before and Guts is the best product by far. Another great Redkin product :)

I've been using this for years; it really does add lots of volume to my fine, limp hair. I don't think it's the best volumizer out there, but it does work though. It can be little sticky at times.
