I need to take time applying this or 9 out of 10 times I end up too masky, too obviously made up. While I'm flawless, there is such thing as looking too perfect. As in unnatural. Your skin has to be exfoliated and moisturized, you need to use the tiniest amount and blend fast because it dries too fast, and always use sponge or foundation brush to apply and you need some kind of finishing powder. But for a big event go for it. Looks good in photos.

I find that this works great with the 'beauty blender' sponge (dampened of course). I got the lightest shade I think (I'm fair. Ivory in most makeup). You do need moisturizer with this, and it has to be mostly sunken in. And it does need some kind of setting powder to help it stay set if your skin is oily in some areas, but other than that, it's great! :)

I am sooooo sad about this purchase. i definately would not recomend buying this product if you are planning on using it as an all over face foundation. i now just use it as a huge tub of concealer because this formula is waaaay to thick and sticky to wear on my entire face. it definately makes my face feel thick and cakey. the coverage was ok. it covers mole and red spots, but did not cover my undereye darkness without looking thick and artificial. i am soooooo sad, words cannot describe my sadness. i wasted 32$ for this crap! i have soo many concealers (than are better than this) i didnt need another. its just collecting dust after 2 tries. do not buy this product i warn u!!! there are much better products out there that gives a full coverage and does not feel thick and cakey or sticky. stay away from this thing.

I bought this product online because I kept hearing how good it was; but when I tried it out, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I have rather oily/acne prone skin so I bought this to cover up my acne; the product covered my acne well but it sort of looked like it was paint on my face or something. It was definitely too thick for me. While purchasing this, I also decided to purchase the Dermablend setting powder(which was truly a waste of my money!), which just made my face worse and made my face look like a clown!! And this product was definitely NOT cheap either!

I have always been envious of women who have flawless legs. I don't have flawless legs, in fact they are horrible, to me at least. A cluster of mosquito bites I acquired about 10 years ago and I still have the scars. I have tried everything to cover these up or even remove them but being African American, I scar easily and hyperpigmentation is always a problem. Then I found dermablend. I must say it's the only cover up that actually works. I'm very very happy with it. I didn't have to buy two colors too, which is rare. I'm brown skin with high yellow undertones (all foundations and concealers always end up red on me. The dermablend rep at macys recommended the cover up cream for me and not the leg cream (dont kno why tho). Regardless, i'm extremely pleased with this product and looks pretty natural even in sunlight which is also rare. The small jar contains very concentrated concealer so one jar should last a decent amount of time depending on what you use it for. Will definely purchase again.
Edit: 9/16/12
It's been 2 years since I reviewed this and I am sti ll using the same jar. I use it was a basic face concealer now more ran for my legs and I like it even more for that purpose. I know that it's a n old jar but it's so concentrated that I had to get my use out of it. For the record, I haven't experienced any bad breakouts either. Like I said before, it's very concentrated so a little goes a long way. Most importantly, the color makes my skintone and I don't think it's too heavy for everyday wear dispite a MUA at MAC given me a face-off horror when I told her I use this a concealer. It's that what this made for on the first place???

This stuff works great and covers very well. I love the fact it contains spf 30 and has never caused me to break out. You have to set it with the powder afterwards if you want it to have good staying powder, but after you do it is very long lasting.

As a performer I have been on a quest for the perfect full coverage foundation and I have found it: dermablend. Not only is it the only foundation I have ever found that has actually matched my complexion (being inbetween NC and NW) it also covers FLAWLESSLY and does not break me out at all. Granted, its not easily accessible as the only place I can buy it is at Macys ( a New york NIGHTMARE) but it is the best I have ever found. Love it, can't live without it, no need to look anywhere else.

This is a great product, but I found it to be priced high. It is a great foundation cover creme for blemishes. It has a smooth, creamy texture. I also like the shade selection that Dermablend offers. Great product.

I made a very bad mistake today....I went to the mall and purchased MAC Studio Tech. I used it and it was a complete waste of money. The DermaBlend kit that I purchased last year is by far the best concealer/foundation I have ever used.

Some of the reviews that are posted here show frustration with blending and matching. The kit that I purchased from DermaBlend.com contained two colors: Chroma 3 and Chroma 4 1/2. The darker color is almost a perfect match but with the lighter color included, a perfect match can be acheived. However, since this is a full coverage make up, there are some rules that must be followed:

1. A good skin care routine must be followed on a daily basis especially if you are a oily girl like me. I use Mary Kay system and exfoliate at least once a week. An oil mattifier should be used as a primer before foundation is applied.

2. Use professional make-up tools. A foundation brush is a neccessity to achieve a smooth and uniform application. Blending is easier using a foundation brush. Also, if more coverage is needed on certain areas, using the brush makes the heavier application less noticiable. I ordered a set of brushes (Pupa) on Ebay for @ $50.00. Or the MAC heads can get MAC brushes. Sponges are good but the appearance can be too heavy and cakey. Fingers are a no, no.

3. Use a good setting powder. I use Iman's Luminous Foundation with a kabuki brush. I use the DermaBlend to cover acne scars so I do not use it as an all over foundation. But if I used DB as my all over, Iman'sLuminous Foudation on top would still look great. The Luminous Foundation gives good coverage and gives my skin a healthy glow. It is not a shiny glittery look at all. When i went to the MAC counter, the sales lady commented that I had a flawless complexion. I do not know why I wasted my money!

Over all, this product is great.

I am an African-American female with vitiligo on my face. It's on the corner of my mouth, about the size of my thumb. I've had this condition since I was 5 and I'm 25 now. Needless to say, it's been an emotional journey having a highly visible skin disorder on my face. It's battered my self-confidence many times and made me feel less about myself.

I heard about Dermablend a couple of years ago and decided to try it. As soon as I went to the makeup clerk at Macy's to inquire about the product, she immediately knew (or thought she did) what color I would need of Dermablend (she recommending Toasted Brown) and said it would work wonders for me.

Well, after using the product for about 2 years, I have very mixed reviews about it. The product is a bit clumsy to apply and takes lots of blending. Also, it can become cakey after a few hours of wearing on your face and it made it look quite obvious that I was wearing makeup. Also, the color the clerk recommended for me wasn't my match at all. It was a little to dark and reddish for my caramel-toned skin. I almost feel like none of the colors quite match me.

Putting on tons of setting powder to combat the shine doesn't work, it just makes your skin look ashy and dry. I always felt frustrated using Dermablend, I didn't realize how much work it takes to get the best result.

Even though I rated it low, I would still consider buying the product if I found the right color match and had the right makeup tools to work with it. It's a decent product that lasts a long time but it takes a while to get settled with it.

I'm an NC30 and Sand Beige is absolutely perfect. I warm a little bit in my palm and sparingly pat on my acne scars til they're fully concealed. If you're oily skinned like me, you must set with a good powder. My HG is Maybelline Dream Matte. With these two combined, my skin looks flawless and it lasts all day. Amazing!

Finding the right colour match may be an expensive experience for me. I purchased off ebay thinking Almond Beige would be okay for my NC 25-30 Asian skin. It is dark for me!! It looks different to the colour of my neck so I have to use bronzer on the neck to look right.

It is cheap, and it covers. DO NOT use under eyes - it cakes like anything and makes you look a thousand years old there.

It has a waxy consistency and takes quite some work to blend in. Okay sure, it does blend in well if you work on it - but not under the eyes.

I only use this as a concealer and it is okay but not super great. Maybe the colour isn't right, I may need to mix with something else.

As a concealer pretty cheap given that it may last about 50 years. I am a bit disappointed with this product and will stick to the Coverblend.

UPDATE: wore this as my main foundation. It was dark but it looked fantastic and smooth for the first 2 hours. Then it disappeared and my real skin (EEKS) showed through. Maybe you need a super thick layer of it - but I am very disappointed. I have updated my review accordingly. It didn't even last as long as my mineral makeup. I think the the fine lines were not covered but didn't show up as much. But, it became dry and my skin suffered. I don't know if I can risk it again.

BUT - it would be great for a night night - a few hours late perhaps in a dark room might work.

I can't recommend this product highly enough! I tried it after it was recommened to me by a friend that, being an actress always needs to look her best. Since I've started using it there hasn't been a day that's gone by that someone hasn't stopped me and asked me what I'm using because my skin looks flawless. I'm close to 50 yrs old and, since using this makeup, I am often guessed as being 35.

I agree that if you use too much, it can look cakey, but if you warm it up and use a foundation brush it will give you close to perfect coverage. I have 2 age spots on my face that practically disappear when I have this foundation on. Also, having quite a bit of Irish in me, I have very "ruddy" cheeks. Until now, I've never had a foundation that would cover the redness.

On top of all of that, the coverage lasts over 12 hours! I'll never use another foundation.

I love to buy samples. Since i started doing this it has save me tons of money. Well i had brought the sample set for 6.00 and it was free shipping i'v been wanting to try (note i'm blessd with acne free skin and i swear i'm always looking for someing to make it better so take my 2 cent light. i don't have anything to cover up) Well all i can say is it is really hard to blend but it is very very very light to wear and the powder it came with is a keeper for me to just wear alone.

This was plain terrible. I had high hopes for this. It may be great to use just to cover a tattoo or birthmark, but definitely should NOT be worn on the face. I have very oily, acne-prone skin, and lately it's been really bad where acne has been exploding everywhere at a scary rate all over my face. And the retin-A micro that my derm prescribed did NOT help the situation. I was going through the whole "purging" process of RAM, that made my face 10x worse. I stopped using the RAM, and my skin stopped being so flaky, but I had all of the acne from it and terrible scarring. So I decided to use this product in hopes it would cover everything. I originally bought the Smooth Indulgence foundation, which was also terrbile (see my review for that one), but I felt that the Smooth Indulgence just didn't cover enough.

First, I don't like how you have to "warm" up the product, I realized I like just liquid foundation. This was not very spreadable at all. It covered well, and had buidable coverage, but you could get so caught up in covering the blemish and so focused on it, that once you step away from the mirror, you wonder what the heck happened to your face?! and you think "Why am I wearing a mask!?" This felt just like the new formula Revlon Colorstay foundation but waaaay stickier. I don't know what was up with that - it felt really sticky on my face and also would bring out the shine when I'm just APPLYING it. Usually my make up looks great upon first application, but then my face gets shiny later on. But this crap just made my face look really oily, feel sticky, and just disgusting.

After about a weeks use, I noticed my acne was worse, and I had TERRIBLE blackheads. I thought it was my skin just misbehaving, until I stopped using it a couple of days, and then went back to it - more acne popped up. And these were very painful big cystic acne.

If you breakout, STAY AWAY FROM THIS.

I am taking this back today to get my money back!

Truly covers every face problem you have. I don't use all over my face now, as I only use under eyes and dab on little spots. If you use at night and all over your skin, your skin will be flawless. A little much during the day if you don't need to cover big problems.

I love this product! I use it as a concealer and have been using it for four years now. I used to use it as a foundation but I found it make my skin look cake-y. It didn't make me break out which is amazing, and it lasts a long time. A little bit of it goes a long way. I would purchase this again but they have discontinued it from the store I used to buy it from and I can't seem to find it in Canada anymore... and their website doesn't ship here either - anyone know where I can buy it, other than ebay??

I had tried this a while ago, but I returned it because I now know that I was not using this right, I would not warm up the product by getting a small amount and rubbing it around on my palm, now I do this to the product and its great, it goes on flawlessly and very very smooth, I also love the coverage that this product has. Can be cakey if you go crazy applying too much product, overall its a great foundation.

This product IS 30 bucks but it's a pretty big jar compared to all other concealers (*cough stila *cough). I use this for my dark circles and it's great! has spf 30, stays on for a long time, and has a decent range of colors.

for tattoos though, this doesnt cover, so if you plan on hiding a tat, dont buy this
