I now have 5 of these colors and am happy with most of them. For $14 you get a slightly smaller than standard tube with a chrome finish. The most recent purchase was Flirt, a light tea rose with no shimmer and a semimatte finish. In general, these lipsticks go on stiffer than most. This can be a plus if you're worried about how long the color wears. Flirt is VERY flattering to me and I'm glad I got it. This would be a great color for you if your color season is Summer. Other colors I own: Reckless, a slightly shimmery plummish-brownish-berryish-well, you get the idea, a neutral that tries to be all things to all women; Move over, a medium neutral reddish-brown; Diva, a slightly lighter neutral matte peachy brown; and Draped, a sheer red with a touch of brown in it. As a member of the lip sheer line, Draped does tend to be shinier on the lips than the others. Even if you never get one of these, you have to smile at the names of the colors in BeneFit's entire line! Who can resist a lipstick called But Officer...or Should I Call? NB: I agree with Peggya about the inaccuracy of the color swatches in the printed catalog, a typical problem with paper catalogs. The colors on line are slightly more accurate.

I had the Looking Glass Lipstick(which I have since swapped), which was a shimmery pale champagne beige-y shade- and it was so incredibly drying! I loved the color, but had to slather on loads of lipgloss so my lips wouldn't flake- so whats the point of wearing it? Nice sleek packaging, decent price, I just have very dry lips..

I have tried several of these and these are definitely worth checking out. They have nice pigment and nice smooth texture.

Um, Uh, Uh . . . is a great pinky neutral that's perfect for an everyday lipstick. It's sheer, creamy, and non-drying to the lips. I wish it had a little more staying power, and I feel pretty silly asking for it in a store ("Hi, do you carry Um Uh Uh?), but I'm on my second tube and it's still one of my favorites.

I bought this in Reckless. The color is a nice deep berry color, but the finish is really matte, and I prefer a creamier lipstick. UPDATE 2/26/03, I now have Flirt, and it's such a pretty pink rose, and not too dry. It lasts a long time. I think I could wear this every day!

I have a bunch of these! These are my favourite lipsticks of all time. I have Ginger Snap: a pink brown frost, Um Um Uh( a neutral pinkish brown) Move Over a pink brown matte that I am sort of bored of, Sugar Cookie( a nice pastel pink beige) Looking glass( a pinkish pale taupe, and Mocha Frosting, and Snickerdoodle, that I dont know what I was thinking becuase they look like the same colour. All in all these lipsticks Rock! And I like them better than MAC 's , probably because they have more of the neutrals that I prefer.

i completely agree with cora's review of these lipsticks - they are one of benefit's better products, and are totally underappreciated. these lipsticks have great staying power and i've never had any problems with them drying out my lips. i have a total of 8 of these, and they are:
it's karma: a very pretty, shimmery red.
dietrich: a true, vavoom red.
bag me baby: a neutral medium bronze with shimmer.
a toast: a light shimmery brown.
ruby vibes: a berry burgundy.
on the sly: shimmery pink brown.
mug shot: burgundy, darker than ruby vibes with more brown than berry.
rawhide: a matte medium brown, no shimmer.

FAB lipstick! Great colors. One piece of advice, try to buy in person. The Benefit catalog is not true to color. (Even Sephora.com, which I adore, is not very close and they have a fairly limited selection.) I put Dietrich in my top 20 reds. A Toast is a very nice everyday color. The packaging is simple and sleek.
Update 01-12-03: After trying many, many more lipsticks since discovering the Benefit l/s, I have come to realize that these aren't that great. They are a little drying and hard to apply. I have taken the color Dietrich out of my list of top 20 reds, heck, it doesn't make my top 70 reds. Look around for better brands for the same price range.

Benefit makes really great lipsticks! I used to look at them in their catalog and when I would order the color was never as pictured. Now that I have Sephora I am in heaven. My favorite is Um
Um ...Uh (stupid name) a wonderful your lips but better pinkish-brown. I also like mocha frosting -it looks like the same color only with the tiniest bit of shimmer.

I'll give BeneFit this one (and only this one!) They have some of the most beautiful lipsticks out there but why oh why can't they last? I have Mocha Frosting, But Officer, and Briefing and haven't swapped one yet! Definately worth buying but don't expect it to last very long.

Only speaking for the SHIMMER/Frosted series, these are my favourite frost lipsticks. They are really creamy and quite long lasting. i do NOT like the matte series. Yuck. But i'll give a 5 for the frosted. My favourite is 'It's karma' a medium red frost, so good, stays on, great color for my olive skin. LOVE THIS LIPSTICK!!! $18.
