This product has completely replaced my brown shadow (used as a brow powder) and brow mascara. The wax holds so much better than any brow gel that I have tried. I use my MAC #266 brush to apply the powder, then use a no-name angled brush to stroke on the wax over my hairs (I use a clean mascara brush to brush my hairs up and outward). It is a very stellar product and belongs in the category of Drugstore Superstars.

I have NYC's Browser kit in Brunette. I really like it! My brows look great. I wish the wax was a little stiffer, and the brush it comes with is completely useless. The tiny tweezers now live in my car for touch-ups at stop lights (natural light is a great thing).
Bottom line: A decent brow kit for $3? You can't beat that.

I have this in 'Brunette'. I find it too red/orange to use. I could use it in a pinch though. If you are looking for a cheap brown powder with good staying power then try this before forking out lots of $$ on other ones. I didn't like the wax much. The mini tweezers worked pretty well! The brush was alright. It is not horrible by any means, I just need a darker, ashier brown.

I have had this browser kit in brunette for the longest time (for 2-3 years) and I still have not ran out of it. Compared to the Anastasia Brow Express in Brunette, NYC's brunette powder is has a red tint to it. With a light hand and short strokes (I use Anatasia's eyebrow brush that comes with the Brow Express), this kit gives me natural coverage for my dark brown (sometimes reddish brown) hair. The wax doesn't perform as well as Anastasia's but it works just fine. I find that it's best to put a little wax on the eyebrows first, brush it with an eyebrow comb or a mascara wand, apply the powder, and then re-brush the brow for definition and direction. Once this runs out, I will definitely buy it again!

I bought this because of the good reviews on here. also because i have benefits brow product also and i wanted something to fall back on in case i ran out. i didnt like this at all. the wax wasnt as 'stiff' as id like it to be. and combining the powder and wax did nothing as well. i probably just used too much or something or didnt get the hang of it. but i wouldnt reccommend this. if you want something like this and dont mind spending a little more, id stick with benefit.

I got this awhile ago, since I think they retired the "Smoke" color for the browser. That being said, I think it matches extremly well with my eyebrows and stays for the ENTIRE day. I think this is great - much better than other eyebrow powders that I've tried on at Sephora that do not even come close to matching my natural color.
If you do have this, buy a nice eyebrow brush ( you won't regret it) because the brush that comes with this doesn't do a good job. The tweezers are something you can throw out as well.

This was not a good product for me. I have dark brown hair and their brunette brow pallet was not dark enough to match me. The brush that came with it is very stiff as well. I did use the MAC angled brow brush with this which makes a difference but the powder for this browser is not of good quality and I can definitely tell the difference. I will be using Smashbox instead. I was hoping this was going to be the one for me since it is very inexpensive but I will just have to spend the money to get the finished brow look I want.

I have sparse brows and am always on the prowl for the perfect product. I bought this a few weeks ago in Blonde--it's just ok. The color isn't a perfect match, but will do for now. If you are debating between this and Smashbox Brow Tech--buy this. It's essentially the same but **much** cheaper. I'm trying Revlon's Brow Fantasy next.

I did not like anything about this product. This is a case of you get what you pay for and this was a cheap performing product.

OK, first off, the packaging is awful. Mine came apart within days. Trying to get the little tweezers and brush to fit inside was a pain. (Note to N.Y.C.-- I could do without the little tweezers. It's nice in theory, but I'd rather have slightly nicer brush that actually fits in the package.)
That said, the product itself is fine. Nothing spectacular. I bought this primarily for the brow wax, and to be honest I think that the $.99 e.l.f. clear mascara/brow tamer works much better. The brow powder itself was a pleasant surprise-- I have very dark brows, and the brunette color worked well. Easy to blend (although it will smudge out if you aren't careful). The brush sucks, as only a one-inch-long brush can. Very difficult to work with. But I would repurchase this if I was in need of brow powder again.

This is by far the best brow product I've used, which is great because it's the least expensive one too! I've used Benefit's and Vincent Longo's and at $3.99, this product is just as good as theirs, if not better.
I'm a red-head (auburn) with drab dirty blonde brows that are very light. I like that unlike many other companies, NYC makes a shade that's perfect for me. I use "Smoke," which sounds like it would be grey but it's actually a light/med brown with a touch of red. It's the perfect color for natural looking brows with my complexion (pale) and hair.
The fact that it's a silky powder is what helps it look so natural in my opinion. Pencils always seem to look obvious! This comes with a great brush to apply the product - it's small with short angled stiff bristles, wth a head width that seems to be the perfect brow-width. The brush is only one-sided though, so you're eventually dipping prior brow color into the wax. No biggie for me, but it might drive others crazy. I can live with brown spots in my wax for $3.99! It also comes with tweezers, but I don't care for them so they're used as emergency car tweezes!
I believe you're supposed to apply the wax first to smooth down the brows and give them more adhesion for the powder to stick to. This method works great, although when I'm in a pinch I just use the powder and find that it too looks completely natural.
I used to never do anything makeup-wise with my brows - I'm very low-maintenance about them and just didn't think anything looked natural enough anyway. Now that I've found this, a couple of quick swipes really makes a difference in my whole face. Even with nothing else on it instantly makes me look more polished, and it makes my eyes stand out more. I think this is a perfect product for brow novices as well as experts - you reallycan't go wrong with it. Even my makeup challenged mom finds it easy :)
The only drawback would be in packaging. It's a small rectangular clear plastic container with a bar of plastic under the product with the logo on it. You pull this to slide the product out from under the lid. I actually like this better than a compact (flip-top), because those can sometimes lose their hold after a while. But, sometimes the slide really sticks on this thing and I end up jerking it out sending the brush flying. I'm also pretty clumsy though, so I'll take the lippie off of myself for that :)
The bottom line is, if you're paying more than $3.99 for your brow product, you're paying too much! I've done the comparison and this product is the best! I'm on my 2nd, so yes - will definitely repurchase!

Browser - cute name, worthwhile product! I've always had trouble filling my eyebrows in to look natural enough. However, this product makes it so easy! You just dip the brush in the wax, then the color, then on your brows. Simple and natural-looking. The fact that it's a powder instead of a pencil makes it look very soft and natural.

Browser is great! It's the same concept as Smashbox Brow Tech, but about 1/10th the price. I do have two small complaints...one, I wish the wax was 2/3 of the product and the color only 1/3, because I keep running out of wax before color, but it's inexpensive enough that I just rebuy when the wax runs out. Two, I think they may have discontinued my favorite color, Smoke. I have dark brown brows, and normally would wear the Brunette, but once I accidentally bought Smoke and loved it even more. It gave me a finished look without being obvious. I can't find Smoke in the stores anymore, so I'm back to Brunette, which is fine. It's similar in depth of color to the Brunette Brow Tech. If you love Brow Tech, you owe it to your wallet to try Browser! The packaging isn't as nice, but for the savings, it's worth it.
Oh, and throw out the little tweezers, they are worthless. I thought I'd keep them for brow "emergencies," but they don't work.

wow, this is a great product if you want natural looking eyebrows. i used to use pencil and it made my brows look really unatural, so i switched to powder. at first i was reluctant about trying this product, but decided to try it anyways because it was inexpensive. the result were amazing. a really natural looking brow. i also like the wax because it keeps all the eyebrow hair in place.

I was starting to hit the bottom of the tiny little well of Smashbox Brow Tech powder that came with the "Try Me" kit I bought from Sephora. I was having a hard time with the idea of shelling out $24 for the full size product, but then I remembered using this a few years back and decided to give it another try. For $3.49 at my local drugstore, you can't beat it!
The color (I got the lightest one) isn't quite as intensely pigmented as the Smashbox product, but that means I don't have to be quite as careful when applying it. I have fair skin, and if I make my brows too dark, it just looks fake. This product does what I wanted it to do, even if it's not quite as nice as the Smashbox brow tech. The brush isn't terrible, but not very elegant. The little tweezers that are included are nice, but probably not very practical. Still, it was a nice little bonus. The powder crumbles and seems very loosely pressed, but not terrible. I'm going to keep trying this with the Smashbox brow brush, and hopefully it will continue to be a decent replacement for Brow Tech, and save me a lot of $$ in the long run.
I wanted to give this 2 stars, but because the price is so fabulous, I'm giving it 3. After a few days of use, I'm realizing that even though a less pigmented shade is easier to use, having a product with a bit more pigmentation (while still not being TOO DARK) might actually be a plus. I never thought I'd be saying that, given how fair I am, but I miss the subtle oopmh of pigmentation that I got from Brow Tech in Blonde, which I don't get with this product. Maybe if I was more liberal with the wax?

im a little torn because this is a really easy product to use but the color (brunette) is not a perfect match. also, its really easy to darken too much but if you get the right amount, the results are decent

I've had the best brow day today -- but only b/c of this wax. The color not so much. & when I used just the powder and wax, my brows looked greasy. But when I used my light brown pencil (They need more powder colors!) then the wax to get them to a shape, then brow gel (Rimmel one is good), the went up in a perfect arch b/c the gel had something stronger to cling to. I was looking for a cheap brow wax, so this does the job. I got the blonde color cuz brunette was too dark but blonde is orange on me cuz I have light brown hairs.

the product itself is aesthetically pleasing, very cute in a cheap plastic drugstore sense. however, the need a wider range of colours. i'm a raven-haired asian, and the brunette is of course a chocolate colour, and the smokey is an even darker chocolate colour. neither are grey/black which is the colour of my brows.
:(
the wax is good tho! :)

I'm on my 2nd one and I've been using it for about 4 years (I'm Asian and use Brunette). I'll preface this by saying I'm not a brow fanatic (my brows are average, not thick or crazy), so I just want something that gets the job done and I'd rather save my money for something else. This definitely fits the bill. I use the wax, b/c it makes my brows stay in place and gives the brow color something to adhere to. You just have to clean off the brush every once in awhile to prevent the wax from building up too much. I will probably never use another product b/c I just don't see the point. This is a great product and I like it a lot more than the Eliz. Arden brow product or the MAC Cork e/s I was using before (and since I can't seem to master how to make pencils look natural, I need to stick with brow powders). HG.
