I am a PPP with dry skin. I love the lightest shade - Ivory. I must say I am sensitive to smell and never noticed it with this product. It smooths over redness and makes me look like I have great skin. It is easy to apply and fun to use -- a bonus in the morning. It works wonderfully layered over Neutrogena spf 30 tinted moisturizer. My only problems with this product are the price -- a little too expensive and that there are three other women who buy the same shade at Macy's so often Ivory is sold out. Absolutely my HG.

One of my favourite foundations (though nothing can beat Stephane Marais creme, *curses*) now my HG has been discontinued...unbelievable!!
Anyways, this gives the same natural finish without settling into lines, dryspots of caking. Cons are that it doesn't last very long as its difficult to spread and the coverage isn't as much as i like.
However until i've tried Dior Airflash, i love this.
Ooh, and it'll never irritate or break you out.
Update: i ended up just using this up, not consistent in it's colour on the face. Now i'm loving Chanel Teint Innocence. Perfect.

I can't remember the last time I've been this disappointed in a foundation. I didn't smell butane; I smelled heavy purfume. The mousse came out so full of bubbles, it was hard to gauge how much I needed. And I found it surprisingly time-consuming to apply. I ordered the color "Buff" online and found it to be darker than "Buff" should be - it was almost a tan look. After all that, it emphasized pores I never knew existed. Oil-control was middle-of-the-road.

My HG for light-medium duty, everyday foundation. It's just a great product- light and airy and blendable, but layerable for a tad more coverage, lots of colors, sets well with powder and sets well alone. But, what really earns it 5 lips from me is the ingenious packaging/dispensing. It's airtight and pressurized, and comes out foamy and bubbly like mousse as the name implies. So the product inside stays pristine, utterly free of outside contaminants, *fresh indefinitely*. On top of that, it's just a very efficient and tidy way to dispense, way better than pots of creme you have to dig in, or squirting toothpaste-style tubes, or pumps that dredge from the bottom of the bottle, ect, ugh. Price may seem steep, but oh how it lasts, and comes out perfect every time... worth it!
P.S. Maybe it's just b/c I've used it so long, but I don't even notice the smell. Better safe than sorry, have a go at Arden's counter with a tester and smell for yourself.

Great stuff!! This is all over ebay for really cheap so I cannot comment on the retail price of it. I paid $10 for mine. It is slightly beyond ultra sheer, it covers the capillaries in my nose but it is far from masky. I am 40 and my skin is combination , not really too much in either direction. This is really a YSSB foundation. It makes me look like I am not wearing anything but just evened out. It is not going to cover any major flaws at all so if that's what you are looking for keep on looking. I have good skin to begin with and this really just enhances it and gives a dewy finish.I took off a lippie for the horrendous nail polish remover scent of it....This scent does go away after a bit but the beginning is fiece. There are a ton of shades to choose from in this and I cannot imagine not finding a match in this. It is so sheer that you could probably get away with being a shade or two off and it wouldn't look it once blended well. I am a MAC NW20 and I wear the lightest shade ivory but I can also wear champagne with no problem. They both look pretty much the same on. Nice underated product.

Liked the look of this foundation when I first put it on, but found that after a few hours it disappeared. I have oily skin and it just didn't seem to hold. Would probably be better for someone with dry to normal skin.

I've been using this foundation for about a year now. At first I loved it! The mousse texture is easy to apply, and it never looks cakey or too thick (that's so gross when you see a foundation "mask" on people). However, my dermatologist told me I had to start using spf 30 every day (so I started using the Oil of Olay), and now this foundation is coming up oily and yucky on my face. So, I'm caught in a bind - can't seem to find a foundation that works well with such a heavy spf 30.

Very sheer whipped foundation you squirt out of the can like whipped cream. It dries very fast so you have to blend it out very fast. Looks pretty and dewy. Gives slightly good coverage for such a sheer foundation. Matching does not need to be terribly prescise due to the sheer thin consistency. It may be a bit oily for skin with an oil problem but it does not break me out and my skin is oily. I use the natural shade and it is good, a bit suntanned look for a pale skin. I also use buff, which has a tiny pink of pink to it compared to natural which is more of a brown. It is not wonderful looking or a holy grail since it does let the blemishes and large pores show through. The lightness and dewy finish are the best things about it. The fact that it slightly emphasizes pores and blemishes is the worst thing.

I actually love this foundation. This is for dry skin, so if you have oily or combo your skin may be oily during the day. It feels a little slick at first, but it dries to a nice dewy finish. My skin looked dewy, but didn't feel like it. It left my skin with a nice glow and it looked very natural. I think this is better than Photogenic because it is more sheer, but covers better. It also looks good with a bronzing powder. This is a very good foundation, I just wish it was a little cheaper.
**Update 04/27/2007** I still have the same bottle of this. I use it only in the winter time. I am sure it is way beyond the expiration date, but so what. I love this foundation. It is the only foundation that I use in the winter months. In the summer it is way to hydrating. If I ran out, I am not sure if I would purchase this again, just because of the price, but that would be the only reason. Other than that, this is my favorite foundation. My skin is very dewy, natural looking, and fresh.

This is my summertime makeup, when I don't want anything heavy and just a sheer, lightweight coverage will do. This feels lighter than air and has great texture to it. Does not break out my skin and leaves a beautiful dewy finish. Great shade range too!

I just couldn't get past the smell. I loved the way it felt when I applied it, but it smelled awful and dried my skin out terribly.

I love the mousse foundation. I bought it quite a while ago and thought it was fairly expensive, but it's lasted quite a while and I would have finished a cream foundation bottle by now. I love the sheer coverage it gives..makes me feel like I'm not wearing foundation at all. People actually think my skins is that nice! I found that patting it on over blemises gives quite good coverage, while just sheering it out over the smooth areas workes to even out my skin tone. Best of all, I don't get that awful gucky feeling that I get by the end of the day with most cream foundations. I use the natural color, and after using much of the bottle I can't imagine using anything else.

I didn't like this either. The smwell was awful and it settled in my pores and irritated my skin. Not good.

This is the worst foundation I have ever tried. I really wanted to like it after all the rave reviews. but oh my gosh. First of all, the counter did not have my color. and tried to match a dark dark color to me. (i asked an asian woman to help me because I'm asian. so i tried to trust her) They convinced me. I tried it the next morning over my entire face and I looked like I was sick. It was a purplish color (and I have a normal to pale complexion) So I decided I would exchange the color but left the foundation on to see how my skin reacted. About 30 minutes later my skin started to burn and itch. It took about 3 cotton pads to wipe off all the makeup from my face. I splashed a bunch of cold water over my face to get the pain to lessen.

Hmmmm...not for me. Basically no coverage at all. I like on the sheer side but with this it's like why bother wearing it at all?
Tried it b/c of all the raves but returned it after wearing 2 days, just don't think it made me look good. Didn't hide redness or any small flaws and seemed to fade by end of day?

I don't usually wear foundation but decided to give this one a try after reading reviews. So glad I did. I bought it in Champagne which is a perfect match for my PPP (will try Vanilla as winter settles in). Light & airy, doesn't leave that tell-tale line around the jaw. Probably wouldn't work good of you need moderate coverage but great for blending & evening out skin tone.

I'm changing my original review (which was positive) because I'm just not loving this anymore. My skin is mostly clear and even-toned, so I just need something to help me look a little more polished. Unfortunately, this mousse doesn't really improve upon what's there. Plus, as my winter pale face sets in, the Vanilla shade just makes my face look a tad dirty. Macy's didn't have anything lighter. It's not that this foundation is bad, it's just that it doesn't really DO anything...except make my wallet 30 bucks lighter.

Great foundation. It's difficult for me to use the regular fluid foundation, my skin is com-dry. I love this mousse one, it's easy to apply and never dry out or break out, it works well with finger tips or sponge. The coverage is OK for me(my skin is not perfect at all---pore, redtone and acne). Will repurchase ( but I want to try more brand as well )

Except for the butane smell it is great. It blends in nice and evens out my skin tone. It doesn't conceal blemishes but doesn't enhance them either. At first it feels kind of oily but once it sets it turns to a nice slightly matte finish that stays perfect all day and looks very natural. vanilla is just a bit too orange and dark for my warm pale skin. If you can fine a colour match this is a good everyday foundation for a natural look.

this stuff hardly seems like a foundation, its so light, which is perfect for me. I have combination skin, and if i use this on oily parts it keeps them matte forever, and its still smooth on my drier cheeks. Its good for smoothing over pores and slight redness, you get perfect skin without looking like your wearing any makeup at all. This probably wouldnt work for people who need heavier coverage or are trying to cover breakouts. Its like a tinted moisterizer without the moisterizer, which is fab for people w/ oily skin.
