I bought this based on reviews. It is now my favorite eyeshadow ever. It goes with EVERYTHING. I tried it with red lips- HOT. Tried it with bronzy lips- also HOT etc. Just the perfect neutral. It really is difficult to describe the color. Perfection is how I describe it. The texture, the effect, the versatility. I may not need the hundreds of other eye shadows I have. This one makes my brown eyes look amazing and works with all color schemes. I will buy this forever.

I went to the counter wanting to get the Angled eye brush and ended up getting this along the way. The BA try this on me when I ask her to show me how to use the brush and I'm hook!!!!! Agree with the review below about how it turn out differently under the different light and such.... I've been using it for 4 days in a row and never have the same effect for each day. Love it. Looks so natural on me my coworker complimented me on how natural I look.

This is one of those complex shades that is going to look different depending on, (a) individual coloring, (b) what other shades it is paired with, and (c) what light is it viewed in. On me, if I pair it with a more neutral lid shade such as LM Vanilla nuts, it looks like a purple-undertoned shimmery mid-brown with a flash of pink. If I pair it with a pinker lid shade such as LM Morning Dew, it appears much more purple (less brown). In natural light, it shows more pink, it actually looks shimmery pink-bronze-brown in daylight; indoors, it shows more purple. It really is gorgeous with blue eyes. For reference, I have light skin, blue eyes, dark brown hair, look best in neutrals (neither too warm nor too cool). UPDATE 11/17/06: Still love the color but darn it this shade pulls a disappearing act after a couple hours, just doesn't have good staying power. Knocked off 2 lippies.

This is a very pretty color and it really brings out my blue eyes. It is a bronzey/taupey shade with some slight rosey tones. The shimmer in this is pretty but not over the top and it lasts all day without creasing and fading.

This is one of the staples of my huge makeup wardrobe. I keep going back to it because it so universal. It makes my dark brown eyes look beautiful in a very subtle way. I have been using it since 2002 and keep buying it when it starts running out. It is a must have. I thought I was the only one nuts about LM Topaz.

i read the reviews for this eyeshadow so i figured i would try it and i am so happy i did. it is such a beautiful color yet it is so natural. it also has shimmer to it but not too much where it is gaudy. it does not crease and i also use it for eyeliner under my eye and it does not smudge. i think this is a universal color and it would look great on any eye color!

This has become my all time-favorite eye shadow. If you have green eyes or hazel eyes, this is a must. I've tried so many bronzy-taupe shadows and nothing ever seemed to bring out my eyes. They were either too warm or too cool. This is perfection. I use for a daytime smokey eye look. LM shadows are high quality and blend so beautifully. The packaging can be a pain as it is sometimes difficult to open but well worth it for the color payoff. Love this and Twilight Gray for a nighttime smokey eye.

I have fallen in love with this e/s! The color is so unique -- rosy/bronzy/taupe that is a must-have for green-eyed girls -- and the texture is just like velvet, so smooth to apply and blend. Also, I love that the shimmer is so subtle and glowy. I'm already planning which other LM eyeshadows I want to add to my collection...

Seeing this as part of the LM mini eye paints set, I thought this was the shade I wasn't ever gonna use (aside from the black blue color, which I really don't use). Wrong! This has become my staple eye color. Wonderful color which matches anything I use with it. I would rate this with six lippies if I can!Ü

Makes an gorgeous eye! The color is more dimensional than just a taupe. It also has a trace of silvery lavender. And the shimmer is just enough. Love it w/ green eyes, but I think it would look equally nice w/ any eye color. It's so easy to apply and blend, just like all LM eyeshadows. This one is worth the price. My HG eye shadow.

I feel horrible for ruining perfect reviews, but this eyeshadow just didn't go well with my brown eyes and NC30 skin. It made my eyes look dirty, so I swapped it away. It was, however, highly pigmented and soft, so I may try LM e/s in other colors in the future.

I've been reading the reviews here (and, increasingly, making purchases based on them) for quite a while now, but this is my first post. I think my love for this color may have inspired it.
I don't wear that much makeup and, because I'm blonde with pale skin and blue eyes and don't like a made up look, go for subtlety when I do. I have also not been that into eyeshadow in general - I usually go with just mascara and lip gloss. This is a great eyeshadow that might change that. I think the color's been adequately described below, though it's a little hard to describe as it depends on the light and how much you put on.
This shadow looks great with my eyes and is ridiculously versatile - it can do the smoky thing at night, or the professional thing by day.
If I had to own one eyeshadow, this would be it. Not thrilled with the packaging, but I'll take product over packaging any day. It did crease a little on me, but as every eyeshadow I've ever owned has done so, I figure it's either my eyes or my inability to apply makeup correctly.

This is the most versatile shadow I have ever owned....it can be a very natural color, however, I am able to achieve a more dramatic effect if I add more. All in all, stays put, no creasing, and easily blendable. I find LM's shadows to be the best...they go on smooth and blend into each other perfectly when using more than one color.

Topaz makes my blue eyes pop like nothing I've ever used on them. It's a shimmery (but you can't see the sparkles just the glow of it) mauvey/brown. You only need a little bit because this eyeshadow is really pigmented. I use it with the Copper Brown eyeliner and my eyes glow! Use it with a light hand for day and it's a neutral and at night with a heavier hand it can look smoldering.

All I can say is wow! Thanks to the great reviews here, I decided to check Topaz out while in Nordstrom's. The MUA applied it solo to my lids and my blue eyes popped like crazy. She then added some LM Cashmere ( a gorgeous mauvey - pink) under my brows & I instantly fell in love. Topaz is in LM's shimmer line however I don't find it to be overly sparkly. It's perfect as a wash for daytime and can be layered for a more intense evening look. On me it's a lovely taupe with a hint of silvery mauve. For some reason I have difficulty finding the "perfect" taupe for my PPP but with Topaz I've hit the jackpot.
Even without a base it lasted over 8 hours.
The texture has been well described by the previous reviewers so I won't add to it.
A definate must!
**The color of Topaz reminds me of Clinique Touch Base in UpLighting.

I had this color for over a year now and suddenly decided to use it again. I can't remember liking this much. This is a very nice Taupe (more on the "purple" than "brown" side though), metallic smokey grayish tinge shade. It goes very nicely with my sheer red chantecaille gloss. If your looking for a "browner" based taupe, then this is not for you, Chanel's "vega" would be another well-rated item to test out.

This is my absolute favorite eyeshadow color of all time. It goes with everything. It is a smokey grey color but it looks like it has some taupe in it. Has the right amount of sparkle (not overdone) and it will go with everybody's coloring. It goes on very smooth and at least on me, it doesn't crease and lasts at least 8 to 10 hours.

This is quite a unique color. I have honey skin color and this is a perfect day-to-night eye shadow for me. Nice golden brown with mauve light reflector. Blend very well and stay all day long. It is AUD$40 but I still think it's worth every cent.

A gorgeous shimmery taupe with - i think - a slight mauve hint. Brings out the amber in my golden-brown eyes and is great with eyeliner for a smoky look, but applied light, could still work for daytime. Love LM eyeshadows!!

One of the best eye shadows, I have ever used! The powder formula, feels creamy & glides on even & smooth. Made with French cashmere talc. There is no flaking, & it doesn't settle into the crease. I apply without using a base, & the color stayed true & set, for 10 hours! The shade, a grey-taupe color, with light shimmer. I have medium green eyes, & it's a very flattering color. This is a very versatile color, that could be used on any eye color. Can be used as a wash, or layered, for a deeper, intense color.
