I am reviewing some emu oil I bought from ebay. I liked what it did for my skin in terms of moisture and making it glow: However, the look of it (half of the oil always solidified in the bottle) and the smell of the oil (very rancid, reminded me very much of chicken fat) was too weird for me. I am glad I only tried a small 1/2 oz. size of this to test it out. I will stick to camellia oil and other plant oils, since they offer the same benefits and smell better.

I actually used a triple distilled pharmaceutical brand of emu oil. I thought the first week that it was a miracle type treatment. Then the cystic acne started :( Emu oil is tauted as the perfect moisturizer and anti-inflamitory treatment for acne but for some reason my skin did not care for it. It bummed me out though because it made my skin super soft at first.

I LOVE this stuff, it is amazing I think. I purchased a bottle of emu oil originally because I heard it penetrates much deeper than most products and so can be used in tanning lotions to help build a deeper, more even tan. I tried it once on my skin before a tanning session but I had not really thought it out, I applied it neat immediatley before I got in the sunbed, so because of the timer thingy that sunbeds have I didn't have time to rub it in properly, so it was kind of a waste, and I got burnt, so that night I decided to apply the emo oil to my skin as I read it is great for sunburn. The red from the sunburn had all but dissapeared the next day when I woke up, very impressive I thought. I kept applying the oil to my face nightly or whenever I came out of the bath, and over the next few days I really noticed a difference in my skin, it just overall had started to look better, more radiant, smoother, softer, moisturized. I also have rosacea and I would imagine with its calming properties the emu oil is doing the rosacea some good too :). This stuff has such a nice glow to it, it works fantasticly under lipbalm for a shine to rival lip-gloss only without the gross stickyness that gloss has. I also use this in the day sometimes under my moisturizer. The reviews who said this stuff doesn't sink in or whatever were probably using too much, you only need a drop or two for your whole face. I highly recommend this to anyone but I also strongly urge all to buy ethical and do a little snooping on companies they might be thinking of buying from, and also only buy from australian companies and not the ameircan ones which support cruel farming methods.

My acne scars love this stuff. It helped them heal and fade so much faster. I apply it with a Q-tip, just enough to see a little sheen on my skin. I tried to apply it all over my face but it didn't do anything so I stopped after a few days. This stuff is especially useful during winter. I apply it to dry patches anywhere, again with a Q-tip, and it seems to get better the next day. They could put it in a dropper bottle like they do with Copper Serum to make it less messy to use.

I was reluctant to try Emu on my very oily skin but this oil is phenomenal (the Skinbio one)!
I haven't had any breakouts from it and it really does make skin GLOW. I saw a difference 10 days after I first started using it. I've been using it almost daily (once a day) for the past 8 months and I still have 75% of the bottle (2 oz) left.
It cost something like 30$ and it can last (depending on how many times a day you use it and what body parts) for 2 years or so. It's also great as an eye cream or over your eye cream.
LOVE IT!!!!!

I purchased emu oil from the skinbiology website. It is really terrific on my dry, flaky skin! Now that the weather is getting colder, the emu oil is back out. I usually apply it at night to soothe any areas of irritation. Although I sometimes use it during the day if my skin is parched, I often find that it's a bit heavy for daytime use.

I purchased the Skin Biology Ultra Emu Oil after reading high praises for it and tried it for 3 months. It didn't seem to moisturize at all and for me it has been the worst moisturizer I have ever used. I was left with dry flaky skin. It was so oily and just would't penetrate my skin. Anther problem I discovered was that it was only lasting about 3 weeks. When it warmed up a little it would melt in the bottle so a full bottle in the morning became a third full in the afternoon. I could not recommend this product and will not use it again.

It was that time to purchase more Squalane (a moisturizer I like a lot from Professional Solutions) because I was running low. I had read about emu oil and jojoba oil on several sites so I decided to buy emu oil instead of my usual squalane (I’ve read about several people breaking out from the jojoba oil so that’s why I opted for the emu.) I was going to get it from Skin Biology but I read about Longview Farms on MUA so I decided to get it there instead. I paid 12 bucks (plus 8 dollar shipping) for a 2 oz bottle. It arrived in three days. This stuff is pretty good. I put it on at night and my skin is so incredibly soft when I wake up. I also add a few drops to my daily moisturizer (100% Hyaluronic Moisturizer) in the morning and it makes my skin look really radiant. I use it under my eyes and I’ve noticed that some fine lines have become much less noticeable too. The only thing I dislike about it is the very faint lard smell of it. It’s not strong enough that I personally find it unpleasant to wear, but it is there if that kind of thing bothers you. **EDIT** Unfortuantly this has been breaking me out. I've stopped using it as a moisturizer and I've been using it as an eye makeup remover instead. Professional Solutions Squalane works on my skin far better than this emu oil.

I use Longview Farms only because it is triple refined, deodorized, and molecularly distilled. I buy the product called "Liquid Gold" that comes in a roll-on. It doesn't smell or leave a film that others have described. It definitely matters where you buy your oil so choose a quality source like LongviewFarms.com. The price I paid is $9 and it lasts a very long time making it a cheap investment. It works very well for my husband and I. He is 37 and I am 28. He doesn't have sensitive skin like I do so I tried it on him first. We were amazed at what it did for reducing the wrinkles around his eyes and forehead. Literally, they halfed in size and are getting better every day. He recently stopped smoking too so this has really improved the texture of his skin. He loves it. I use it as a moisturizer and couldn't be happier. I am starting to age around the eyes so this really helps smoothes the eye area and moisturize my entire face. I recommend at least trying Longview Farms Liquid Gold emu oil before giving up on it.... especially if you wear mineral makeup... it makes a great base. Remember, you only need a very small amount and the roll-on I purchased make it easy to apply.

This stuff is a lifesaver! I had to use it after going to an aesthetician who used products on my face that made me flare horribly. I also used it after an ill-advised purchase of Queen Helene mint julep mask. The oil soothed my flares and cleared up awful dry patches from products that the aesthetician used. (I think she thought 'rosacea' was 'acne rosacea' and so she used products on my skin that one would use for people with acne ... it was a disaster!!) I do not use emu oil on a daily basis, but I do keep it to calm skin flares, and it works wonderfully. I don't use a specific brand; I got some at my local health food store in the skin products section, and it was quite inexpensive.

I am using Emu Oil from Emusing Secrets (love the name!) and it is amazing. I have very dry, rosacea-prone skin and use this every night. It has made an enormous difference in my skin - no more dry, itchy patches and my face feels like silk when I wake up! I will definitely continue to use this product.
Update to previous review: Had to stop using this - for some reason had a reaction to it....sigh....

UPDATE: I no longer use this. I prefer cold pressed Avocado oil. Sinks in quicker, isn't quite as oily, and easier to come by.
Been using this for about a month on alternate nights with CP Serum and I love it. I have mostly oily skin, but have found since using this my skin is super hydrated in a natural, glowy kinda way and producing less oil during the day than normal. I've had no breakouts, which is rare for me anyway. I massage in a very thin layer at night, let it soak in for a few minutes, then rub in 1 drop of CP for my entire face. It soaks in completely and just disappears, leaving my skin like velvet when I get up in the morning. Anything left over I rub into my hands and it's made a huge difference there as well. The packaging is not elegant and the lid leaks, but it's very economical and doing wonders for my face so I'm not going to complain much.

Thick, sticky, oilly and not easilly absorbed. Resulted in pimples and greasey skin. Plain olive oil from my kitchen did a much better job at a much better price.

I purchased 'Emu Gold' from the health-food store and a like it a lot. I have oily skin so I'm too chicken to use this on my face, but my neck and eyes love it with no break-outs. It's one of those wax-like oils much like jojoba, which is never greasy, and adds a silky texture to the skin...move over silicone. Of course, any more than a drop might be too much, so I'm very careful not to overapply.

I use a different brand, but Emu oil is the best moisturizer I have found, and I've tried a LOT. My skin is very sensitive, and this is basically the only moisurizer that doesn't cause breakouts for me. I just use a tiny bit in a spray bottle with some spring water and a few drops of lavender essential oil. I spray it on and wipe off the excess with a cotton pad. It's wonderful stuff. If you are a vegetarian, you may want to avoid this as it is made from emus. It's a really great moisturizer though.

although this stuff feels like youre applying vegetable oil to your skin, it somehow does not clog pores. Its great for healing old blemishes and is a great carrier for other skin treatments.

My HG night time moisturizer! I put on a full face at night and when I wake up, my normally dry, patchy skin is soft and smoooth. Even the harsh, dry heater can't dry it out. I'm prone to breakouts and this doesn't make me break out at all. Also good for a day moisturizer, but you can use just a pea-sized amount for your whole face. For the oil that sticks to the side of the bottle, just use a cotton swap to get it out, then apply directly to your face.

I used Kalaya Emu Oil, because I heard of all its benefits. I used it on some scars on my legs for a few months, but there were no noticeable results. I wish that I had used it on my face, because many of the reviews mentioned that is works well for some skin conditions. So keep in mind that my review was from using it only on my body and not my face.

I am a big fan of emu oil, although there are many other sources that are cheaper than SB. SB emu oil's claim to fame is the addition of coQ10 and 7-keto dhea, which I've found don't really add much value for me. The oil itself is fantastic; it's completely non-comedogenic and helps other products to penetrate deeper and wrok more effectively. I've also used it on minor cuts and scrapes and it helps with healing. I use it during the winter as a moisturizer under makeup. Although I have very oily skin, emu oil doesn't make it any oilier, and my skin looks great when I'm using it.

This is the only product I have tried from this line that did not work for me at all. I used it as an undereye moisturizer and had an immediate allergic reaction--redness, severe itching, the works. It works very well for some, but unfortunately not for me.
