Great value for the price. Environmentally and socially responsible. I purchase the Fragrance Free version from Wild Oats. Fragrance Free version has the very slightest(I mean so small that only the most sensitive of noses - mine - could detect for a second or two)brief background scent of sandalwood. It dissapears in a second, really. Truly, an excellent value - although no anti-aging claims or purpose. Just plain moisture.

Wonderful! Love the clean scent of my Cucumber Melon and rich-but-light feel of this lotion. The price is right, at around $5 dollars for 8 oz. and the bottle is very stylish. I'm eager to try White Gardenia next.

awesome scent, somewhat OK for making my skin soft. BF loves the scent of the Melon one. I really need Cetaphil or something in the winter though so this is just for feeling good..

Just got this lotion today in Japanese Citrus. Great lotion so far. Not too strong of a smell, but a really nice grapefruit smell. Around $5 so it isnt that cheap, and you dont get that much of it in a bottle. I hated all the other scents, I wish they had more to choose from. But I will agree the unscented is horrid, pure chemical smell. We'll see if this can stand against my Vaseline. UPDATE::Great! my legs are sooo soft, and I like the smell. Keep ur fingers crossed ;) Available in grocery stores or a health food store.

After reading the rave reviews for this lotion, I bought one bottle today. I went for the Fragrance Free one because I don't like to have too many scents conflicting on my body--shampoo, lotion, styling products, perfume, etc.--anyway, I do not suggest buying the Fragrance Free one, because it is not fragrance free, it smells like chemicals. I guess there is a reason why the scented ones smell so heavenly, cause otherwise, you would smell like chemicals. Like I do.
But, it's ok for now, since the absorbability of the lotion is superior, and my hands are soft and supple. Go and get yourself a bottle of the scented lotion and you'll agree that it is wonderful.

After trying a lot of different hand lotions, I would say that this is one of my favorites. I wash my hands a lot and I need a lotion that absorbs right into my skin wihtout being greasy. This is the lotion. Aloe vera makes this product absorb into your skin nicely, is what the SA at Pharmaca told me. It leaves a smooth, light and matte conditioned feel on my hands without being sticky and I got it in Yuzu, which leaves a nice light, citrusy smell that lasts for a while. This will be a staple in my beauty cabinet.

I was skeptical, but decided to try it out since they have testers at Whole Foods. Wow. Absorbs pretty fast and makes my skin feel silky and not sticky. I bought Apricot Rose and also tested the Sandalwood and I normally hate scented lotions. The Apricot Rose is a very pleasant and subtle scent and the Sandalwood smelled good, too--nice and "woodsy." However, I agree w/ other reviewers when they say they'd like to see a pump bottle top, but I suppose I can steal a top from another lotion or something. Got mine for $6 (8 oz. bottle). Pretty darn affordable considering how much some of the department store brands run. UPDATE 2/17/04: Still loving the formula, but the Apricot Rose scent is getting to me. Will have to repurchase in a different scent. UPDATE #2 3/17/04: I've come back to this lotion--it just works the best w/ my skin. However, I'll be sticking w/ either the Yuzu or Sandalwood scents from now on.

The ONLY thing that would make this the greatest lotion ever invented would be a bit more moisture. Now the fact that this sinks RIGHT in to the skin (fabulous!) makes up for the fact that it's not *as* moisturizing because I can use it at least twice a day without being all greasy and sticky and get roughly the same amount of moisture as with more intense lotions. I've got this in the Apricot/Rose and Sandalwood something else. The scents are great, PLUS I got them for really cheap, since they redesigned the packaging and the online store is selling the old package for dirt cheap! Highly recommended!

Oh WOW! I'm in love with this lotion!! THANK YOU MUA! I read the reviews and I immediately went out to buy it. After much sniffing, I picked up the apricot rose, which is a delicious light sweet smell. I'm usually pretty sensitive about scents but this one, grew on me. Some scented products get annoying after a while (headache inducing), but this seems to get better and better. It's so light and lovely, and lingers just enough. PLUS, its not greasy at all and just sinks into your skin. Which is fabulous since I have very dry skin, particularly in the winter. Greasy moisturizers get on my nerves, but this is FAR from that. After showering, I slather it on and just feel so soft and sweet! Honestly, it makes me feel happy! The shower gel is fantastic for bubble baths too. The only downside I'd have to say is the bottle. I wish it had a pump dispenser, and came in a bigger size. But then again, if i run out, that just gives me an excuse to try a new flavor! :)
UPDATE: This scent is really one of my favorites. It's been years now and I still love it. However, it definitely is not moisturizing enough for extra dry skin. Never the less I keep it around. It never fails to make me smile.

I just had to add to the raves on this one. What a nice lotion! It's rich enough to use on dry, winter skin, but has a refreshingly matte finish (if that makes sense for a lotion). Initially it doesn't seem very emollient (unlike my other favorite, Palmer's Cocoa Butter), but all the same leaves skin soft and supple. What really won me over though was the subtle, natural scent that stays with you a bit. I love Sandalwood and Amber. Smells masculine in the nicest of ways--comforting, woodsy, and a bit like fresh tobacco.

After much sampling of all the lotions,I picked up Sandalwood and Amber, which smells divine to my nose. This is a musky warm scent;to me it most closely resembles Obsession for men-this is the cologne that my honey wears and it smells like him:)but not in an overpowering way.If you like oriental fragrances or spicy ones, you'll enjoy this. The formula is the bomb too-light and hydrating.

Finally got my hands on this after reading the raves. I love it! I chose Apricot Rose and the scent is just plain pretty--very feminine & subtle & not synthetic. At first, I smell the apricot but once applied it becomes a soft light rose scent (it's rose done right IMO). Texture is creamy and leaves my skin soft & smooth. I love that it's all natural and I want every scent now! Bravo, Shikai. UPDATE: I now have the french vanilla as well thanks to a lovely swapper. Very nice authentic french vanilla scent with no musk or "warm sugar" additions, which I don't care for. Drydown is nice too. My new favorite brand : )

This is my favorite lotion ever. I usually avoided lotions because I could never find one that I liked very much, and those that I did had some scent that I didn't like (I have a sensitive nose). The lotion absorbs fast and leaves no greasy film. Most lotions that say that still feel filmy to me. I cannot stand filmy feeling fingers! The scents of the lotion are great, nothing synthetic-smelling or overpowering, and there is also an unscented version. Also, the price for the quality of this product can't be beat. If you can't find it in a store, check out their website (shikai.com). Great stuff!

This body lotion is just great! I bought mine at my local health food store and I have it in the Yuzu scent (Japanese citrus). I usually don't like citrus scents in lotions or creams because after a while they turn too sour on me, but this one is different: it's very light with just the right amount of tanginess. I detect a very pleasant mix of notes of grapefruit, a little bit of orange and a touch of lemon. But everything is so delicately and harmoniously put together that it will definitely not turn sour or give you a headache. This scent is so delicate and pleasant that anybody can use it, imho; I think this would be great for men too.
The consistency of this lotion is so pleasant and feels so good!! . It's so rich and when you apply it, it makes your skin silky, right away. This is perfect after shaving, after a bath or shower. I love this lotion, and I think I like this one even more than the Burt's Bees Milk and Honey body lotion (which has been a favorite of mine for some time now). I wish the packaging could be improved though: I'd like to see pump bottles instead; more convenient and easier to use. But what I did is, I took a pump from a Burt's Bees lotion I had used up, washed it and put it in the Shi Kai bottle. It fits perfectly. That could be an idea, esp. if you like pump bottles :)
The price then it's unbeatable! I find mine for about $4 and change for an 8oz bottle!(And it's cheaper than your average drugstore lotion but SO much better!! The more I shop online or at health food stores, the more I realize that buying body care products at the drugstore is getting more and more ridiculous! At these "alternative" places you get MUCH BETTER quality products, a WIDER range of scents and a wide range of prices as well!!) Very good price!! Burt's Bees are 7oz and cost twice as much, although they're still very good, just different from Shi Kai.
These lotions have surprised me very much and I will keep purchasing; I'll also might buy their shampoos and conditioners. Overall, Shi Kai definitely is a good brand that you can safely rely on for all your body care needs. Superior quality + great prices= Shi Kai.

This product is great- I have it in Cucumber Melon, but also love the Yuzu. My husband tried it and loved it from the first try and we had to go out the next day and buy him his own bottle of Fragrance Free.
It's very smooth and goes on easily without being greasy. I'm so soft!!! And it was on sale for $5.69!

I have this in French Vanilla and I love it. Nice soft scent (I first received as a gift from someone who is very sensitive/allergic to perfumes/scents and these are the only products she'll use.) Very gentle to the skin (it contains oatmeal) and a good moisturizer. I also use the shower gel. Great stuff!

After first reading the reviews for this product, I expected it to be super expensive. I was wrong...it's dirt cheap and is the most amazing body lotion I've ever come across. I ordered a bottle from their website (gardenia) and after a week of using it, I went back and bought ten more bottles. The scent is amazing, it actually smells like I'm holding a bouquet of gardenias under my nose. After using this, I no longer use perfume because the lotion itself is enough. My skin is incredibly soft and silky...this has definitely become my HG of body lotions.

I'm on my third bottle of this lotion. I'm hooked on the Japanese Grapefruit scent - I think it's called Yuzu. I love the texture and fragrance! I also enjoy using the shower gel in this same fragrance. (It works great as a bubble bath, too!)

I have *enjoyed* ShiKai All Natural Hand & Body Lotions in 'French Vanilla', 'Gardenia', and 'Sandalwood & Amber'. This lotion is an effective moisturizer, with its creamy, luxurious texture. The scents are soothing and aromatherapeutic; the ingredients are natural and non-irritating. I highly recommend ShiKai lotions - even to the allergic. I only wish they came with a pump.

I have this in French vanilla and it's wonderful. Not moisturizing enough for dry feet, but a great overall body lotion. My only small complaint is that the nozzle gets clogged all the time.
