this is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best lip treatment for dry and chapped lips as well as for every day use. i used it while i was on roaccutane and without it i would have ripped my mouth off - it was SO DRY that it bled sometimes. i love everything about it - it feels really beautiful and smooth on application, i'm into the tingly sensation you get immediately afterward, and it makes your lips look healthy and shiny. i use it during the day and slather it on big time before bed for an overnight treatment. it may not be the sexiest lip balm ever, but it's so much more effective than chapstick, baby lips, etc and i have repurchased this over and over.

Ohhhhhhh, in the name of all that is beautiful!
This baby is The Only Thing that will heal my bleeding cracked lips in winter time (I'm a sucker for picking at my dry lips, the shame...). Not a huge fan of the smell or taste, but it does its job.
I always try others, but always return to my old faithful.
My saviour!

I love Carmex! I put it on my lips before I go to bed and I wake up with hydrated, plump lips. I never get chapped lips when I use it, no matter how dry the climate. The only drawback is the ingredient-list which contains both petrolatum and mineral oil but I've tried so many natural alternatives and they just can't compare.. I'll keep looking but until I find anything that gives me the same results, Carmex it is..

You don't know how bad this product is for your lips. I used this product on my lips non-stop for two weeks. Then one day I lost it and all my lips when so so dry and awful. So I went online and look why it did this when you stop using it they have ingredents in it that dries out your lips so you don't stop usng it. Avoid this all costs!!

I have this lip ointment in the bright yellow tube with red cap. While this is extremely moisturizing, like vaseline, and more moisturizing than any stick lipbalm I've used, I don't like that it has menthol. This makes my lips tingle, and while some people might enjoy that, my lips are quite sensitive and I prefer lip products that aren't minty. Also, this smells intensely medicinal/herbal, and I've gotten used to it by now, but won't repurchase.

I love my little carmex pot. I don't know if it's the cute little pot it comes in (I'm such a sucker for things like that) or how fantastic the product is. I used to put vaseline on my lips each night to keep them hydrated, especially in the winter when they chap from the cold and central heating. I found that it wasn't really working though, as it just sat on top of my lips rather than moisturising them. Enter carmex! I use the mint balm in the harshest of months for when my mouth is very chapped and just regular carmex the rest of the year. Perfect lips, no going back!

Oh sweet jesus, I love this stuff. Dirt cheap and it moisturizes my lips even if they’re peeling and cracking. I don’t even care about it being a pot because this stuff works so well. I’ll jam my finger into the damn pot over and over without a care in the world because this stuff does wonders. Judge me all you want with the whole “unsanitary finger in a jar” deal but at the end of the day I HAVE SOFT PLUSH LIPS :V!
I believe they have this in a stick version but I haven’t picked any up yet since I have about 4 pots and they last for a long time. One is on my vanity, one is in my purse and 2 are backups!
You can often find these suckers on sale: 2 for $3 at Walgreens or CVS.
It has a medication kinda smell to it but I’ve learn to love it. I slather this stuff on my lips before bed every night and wake up with baby soft lips. I even grew fond of the fake cherry scent they have too :>
The only thing I’d warn people to steer clear of is the one that comes in a squeeze tube. The formula for that one is disgustingly runny and will end up in your mouth causing you to squirm and deal with an unpleasant sensation on your tongue :<

The thing about this lip balm that I HATE is that it makes your lips go really tingly and it feels like its burning away at your mouth!! But after the horrible burning sensation had gone, my lips felt quite smooth but felt a little dry so I wasnt too impressed with this product overall

The ingredients, camphor and menthol, aren't good for moisturizing lips. Carmex will actually dehydrate you and make your lips worse than before. However to ensure its customers will keep reaching for it, the Carmex makers added that soothing, tingling effect.
Honestly if I wanted a soothing tingling effect, I'd reach for my vibrator. Not a lip balm.

This was the first lip balm I ever used. It was a staple in my house since the time I was a little girl. It works miracles (as far as I'm concerned) on SOS-chapped lips (Including those awful corner-of-the-mouth tears I get in very dry weather) as well as minor blemishes. I put it on at night and wake up with full, soft, beautiful lips. The cooling, soothing sensation is very pleasant. I am very sensitive to icky scents, but this is soothing and medicinal, not gross and floral. I only wish it were more natural and for that reason I keep a jar of this only for emergencies. For everyday, I stick to my natural lip balm.

Camphor and Menthol are not good for chapped areas.
Which are Carmex main ingredients.
Carmex does not moisturize my lips, but when i have cold it makes my lips feel cold and soothed.
But if you're a plain gloss girl than you should buy this or stick with vaseline.

Cannot tolerate the chemical smell or the burning sensation of the menthol in Carmex. Loathe this product. I'll stick with Blistex Herbal Answer--completely neutral, no fragrance, very moisturizing.

My mother has always used Carmex. I used to only like the little 'Lip Smackers' when I was a kid. She has ALWAYS sworn by Carmex. I started using it late 2011 and have not used another since then. I have gone through 2 pots and half a tube in about a 12 month period. I love this product! I have had a SHOCKING habit of picking my lips, then when I try and use a lip-balm to stop myself. It would wear off easy and would find myself picking again. I found Carmex great, because it got rid of all the 'flakiness' and stayed on for a bit longer then an hour. I don't mind the smell, it does smell like Menthol, but it has a hint of Marsh mellow? Alot complain about the smell, but frankly, you need to get used to it. It does it job, so I suppose you don't need to worry! The packaging is bland, but I like it. :)

This is my must have! I have 1 everywhere, in my purses, my backpack, at work, in my car, etc..lol..My lips are not the best, not the smoothest, and this lip balm makes it all better. My lips are always so chapped hot or cold, and this lipbalm is my hero. I will continue buying this forever, having extras is never a bad idea! Its cheap and works wonders! I prefer the original one. I didn't care for the cherry one.

It hasn't really blown my mind or anything of that sort, but it serves as a really nice night moisturizer. In the morning, I can still feel the chapstick even if I only wore a thin coat of it the night before. It hasn't dried out my lips as far so I'm happy with it. Especially the price!

wow. Thats all i can say about this product. it blew my mind :D
I am very picky about my lip balms and this one is FABULOUS!! starting with the packaging, i love the pot idea. i know a LOT of people cant stand chapstick in a pot, but i really like it! on to the product itself. as for the smell, i dont know what everyone is talking about because it really isnt that bad. i like it. the actual formula is great too. you dont need to re apply it often; i usually apply in the morning as a base to my lipgloss and before i go to bed and its just enough. it stays on through eating and drinking. i also love how you can feel it penetrating into your lips. its moisturizing and works excellent! i reccommend!

It actually works!
I have used many HE and DS lip treatments in the past and none have really helped to keep my lips moisturised except this. I come back to it time and time again because it works, everytime. Many lipsticks cause my lips to chap which looks awful (some balms do this too) and Carmex always moisturises and smooths my lips and removes any flaking it truely is a HG product for me in that respect (especially for the great price!).
It has a sort of medicinal with a hint of vanilla scent, it's not a greasy balm and lasts a long time on the lips. When first applied it kind of gently tingles too. Plus it is very easy to find, it is sold almost everywhere! I have a number of these little pots dotted around so I am never too far away from some.
The only thing that bothers me is the fact it's in a tub, I feel it is a little unhygienic and have tried the stick version of this balm but somehow it just doesn't live up to the original for me.
All in all it will remain my HG. I am terrible and always end up trying new things but I'm sure, as I have in the past, always come back to Carmex.

I used to have a dry choppy lips ever since so that kind of hindered me from buying matte lipsticks. When revlon lip butters came out I was extremely happy with the results however I still could not use other lipsticks even the other colorburst ones. I also tried blistex but to no avail. When I was browsing cosmopolitan.ph website's segment " what's in my bag", I found out that most of the celebs had carmex in their bags. I thought I should give it a try . When I saw it in the store I was so happy with the price. I used it ever day and at bedtime. After few days I noticed that the dryness is no longer there. Tha flakes/ chops also disappeared. I can now use my colorbursts with such an ease. To top it all, I can now use matte products. Max factor bewitching coral is a matte lipstick that looks really great on me. Would definitely repurchase!!!

(This is a rating for the tube version.) One of the few lip balms I have that works for me. I'm on my 8th tube or so. If you don't like the smell, try the strawberry flavor. The only downside is that I have to reapply or my lips feel too dry. I think this is just a change in my perception after extended use.
