I like this a lot. I picked this up in the mint flavor and it had a pretty intense mint flavor and scent.(which I really love) But I've noticed after a few weeks of using it pretty much daily it lost its mintyness? Before it was like fresh zingy mint on my lips and now it reminds me of Orbit sweet mint gum. Still works fine though. It there but not like it was when it was fresh. I have about 2 weeks worth of product left and I do plan on repurchasing.

I bought this because I needed a heavy duty lip balm and I read good reviews about it. I got it in Black Tea and Blackberry, which smells delightful. Unfortunately, other than the scent, I have to say I'm pretty disappointed given what I paid for it.

There are several specific things I'm looking for, though I doubt these are priorities for everyone: fast absorbing, not sticky, not shiny. This product fails on all these accounts :(

I supposed it's decent as far as moisturizing goes, but it's kind of hard to tell because I feel like the product just sits on top of my lips (in fact, every time I wipe my mouth with a napkin, it comes right off, and lips start to feel a bit dry shortly thereafter), acting like a barrier against the elements, so my lips don't *feel* dry. I'm tempted to say it's almost like overpriced, scented vaseline. Indeed, the texture is very thick and slick, not unlike petroleum jelly.

But wait! There is one definite "positive": it's pretty long-lasting. At least, compared to the multitude of other lackluster (but MUCH cheaper) lip balms I've tried recently.

I bought this for my husband and had to try it too. I love it! I put it on at night before bed and wake up with smooth lips every time. It has a fresh minty taste and doesn't feel too greasy. The sun protection is a nice plus for day time. I have bought two more tubes for myself and my husband.

I liked this product at first but I noticed it made my lips more dry if I don't use it. It feels nice but you have to re apply it a lot. I read somewhere that there's a controversial ingredient in this product which I kind'a believe since it leaves my lips more dry than it has ever been if I stop using it even for just a couple of hours.

I am somewhat of a lip balm fiend so I was excited to try this out after all the glowing reviews. Unfortunately I did not like it at all. I really wanted to but it was just so sticky and did nothing for my lips. It didn't moisturize them at all, if anything I felt like they got more dried out. This stuff was also very tacky and just sort of sat on top of my lips. It never seemed to absorb. If any hair, crumbs, lint, etc got near my face it ended up stuck to my lips. My fiancee kept complaining when I kissed him about how sticky it was so it had to go :( This was probably the most I've paid for lip balm and it did a worse job than any I can remember using.

Amazing lip balm. Just amazing. I've had dry, flaky lips all my life and never found anything that cured them till now. I've tried pretty much every lip balm out there, from Creme de la Mer through to Vaseline, and this is honestly the only one I've found that has cured those horrid flaky, picky bits. First couple of days I needed to reapply every couple of hours or so, but after that I found I was using it just because I wanted to, not cos I needed to. It feels lovely on, not sticky or gloopy, and leaves a fabulous moist look to my lips rather than a waxy coat or overly glossy shine as most others do. I'm SO impressed with it. It may cost alittle more than your average chap stick or whatever, but it's certainly not expensive compared to (e.g.) Creme de la Mer (£40) which did absolutely nothing.
I can finally wear sheer lip colours instead of the thick, heavily pigmented ones I've had to use to cover the sore red patches on my lips, awoohoo!!!
Sadly not widely available in UK, but found a fab seller on amazon and will stock up. Definate HG for me now, don't ever want to be without!

You can't really ask for more in a lip balm. I have the mint version and it does exaclty as promised- hydrates, protects, and most importantly, lasts. Personally I like the mint feeling/flavour, but I can understand if it's too strong for some. For some reason, it took me a while to warm up to this product, but now I can't live without it. A must.

Attention!' . I used to love this balm ( in fact I had pretty much every flavor ) till I found out a few things . Now I discourage any and all from buying these. If you value your lips and want good spf

It's not as 'natural' as you may think .

Active Ingredients: Octinoxate 7.5%, Avobenzone 3.0%. Lanolin 13.5% Petrolatum 40.2%

cocoa seed butter, beeswax, ozokerite polygycryl-3 beeswax, flavor, shea butter, avocado oil, alkyl hydroxystearoyl stearate, tocopheryl acetate, isobutylparaben, butylparaben, isopropylparaben, cyclopentasilixane, microcrystalline wax, camellia sinenis leaf extract, cyclohexasiloxane

Its full of petrolatum and silicones which although they condition nicely, aren't really 'natural'

Jack black lied about the ingredients list . See here
http://www.makeupalley.com/m_141085946

The formulas with mango , grapefruit and lemon are not so good bc citrus oils are phototoxic , they break down under sunlight and release lots and lots of free radicals.

My biggest gripe is the unstable spf (and why I avoid these). Avobenzone and octinoxate are unstable ss agents. And when they come together they're even worse. Worse than no protection at all. You're not getting any protection because they break down, rendering the ss aspect useless . And when they break down they give off horrible free radicals which wreak havoc on your delicate lips . It's a shame bc i was enamored with the Shea butter flavor (gray) and the lemon flavor(yellow)
Pass pass pass

Look for something with zinc oxide instead. Mineral ss doesn't break down under sunlight and is stable .
Burnout spf 32 or Jane iredale lip drink spf 15

You are warned

An article explaining why octinoxate and avobenzone together are BAD news. (thanks coffeeandcream)

This product is just okay for me. I bought it because it gets a lot of love from various YouTube beauty gurus etc. I will continue to use it because I paid for it but will not re purchase. It doesn't work better than other lip balms I've tried for less money. Maybe my hopes were too high and I expected it to be groundbreaking because of the stellar reviews, but I'll be going back to Burt's Bees or Carmex upon finishing this product.

I was waiting for the C.O. Bigelow Lemon lip balm solid to go on sale when the semi-annual sale started, but I saw a Jack Black display at Ulta and had heard really good things about the lip balm, so I decided to give it a try. I got the lemon and chamomile because mint tends to make my already always-chapped lips worse. I LOVE IT. It doesn't really smell lemon-y to me though, more like Bazooka bubble gum, but that doesn't really bother me at all. I've noticed a BIG difference in my lips though. It seemed like when I used the C.O. Bigelow, it would work for about an hour, and it melted off and left my lips drier. This makes my lips feel soft and smooth and the feeling lasts. Also, a little goes a long way. I will definitely repurchase this over and over! My new HG lip balm!

I bought this lip balm over a year ago, and I still have the same tube, so a little definitely goes a long way. I purchased the balm from Amazon, but I do not remember the price. I have the one that has mint in it. It feels amazing on my lips, very refreshing and cool. My lips get really uncomfortably dry a lot, especially if I'm not properly hydrated. This stuff makes them feel so much better right away. The product goes on very thick, so it stays on my lips for a long period of time, without me even having to reapply. I will definitely repurchase when I run out.

Wanted to love this stuff but I had to constantly reapply and it left me with dry cracked lips and open sores. I have never suffered from cold sores and when I stopped using this and went back to Burt Bee's the sores went away.

I absolutely LOVE this lip balm. I have always had dry, cracked lips no matter the season or weather, and this has cured them. I've been using it for several weeks and notice a HUGE difference in my lips. Before I wasn't able to put on lipstick without the pigment catching on certain areas or my lips, but this is definitely not a problem anymore. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good, decently priced lip balm, guy or girl.

This my favorite lip balm. I have the black tea and blackberry one, and the smell is mouthwatering. The ingredients include shea butter, green tea/ fruit extracts and vitamin e. Good stuff. There is no black tea or blackberry in the ingredients, but it smells like its name anyway. Only thing I don't like is the look of the packaging, because it is for men and I like girly stuff, but that's hardly something even worth mentioning. Oh, and it is SPF 25. Where could you go wrong?

This is my fiance's lip balm and I absolutely love the smell. I use it whenever I can get my hands on it. He has other Jack Black products and I find them all very good - face washes, moisturizers - they smell great and not too masculine.

Overall, I'm giving this product a 5, and along with Clinique Superbalm and Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Moisturiser, it forms a set of my HG, trusted lip balms. It makes my lips so soft, and if I use it at night, I wake up with soft, plump lips. I've tried three so far - Mint, Grapefruit and Ginger, and Black Tea and Blackberry. However, I would NOT recommend the Mint variety, as I found it irritated my lips and made them feel dry (menthol is an irritant). My favourite so far is the Grapefruit and Ginger one, although the taste is a bit strong. The Black Tea and Blackberry variety oddly doesn't contain either of those ingredients, but rather Blackcurrant and Green Tea extract! The smell is a bit too fresh and artificial melon-like for me, so I won't be repurchasing it. I'm looking forward to trying the Lemon one next. It's great to find a balm with such high SPF too.

EDIT: I'm taking my score down from 5 to 4 - the Black Tea lip balm isn't really working for me, I don't find it very moisturising. So I've only had a positive experience with one variety, the Grapefruit and Ginger. I wonder why there's so much disparity between the different balms? I'm also not impressed with the recent revelations that Jack Black have been selectively choosing which ingredients to list on their tubes...

I am sooo sad that this product did not work for me! After the raves from temptalia and xsparkage and others, I went out to search for it high and low (hard to find in london). When I found it in a pharmacy, I got excited and bought two lipbalms at £7.50 each. Biggest mistake!

I dont have sensitive skin but this lipbalm dried my lips out after a few minutes of applying it. I thought maybe it was absorbing into my lips and its gna feel better but eventually I was reapplying every 15 minutes. I should have stopped using it there and then but I really believed it would be a HG worthy lipbalm. That night, my lips went sooo dry and painful and sore nothing would heal it (not even my trusty carmex). The next morning my lips were bright red, cracked and the skin around my lips started flaking. It looked rough and cakey especially on my cupids now and mouth.

After at least a week of drenching my lips in vaseline and carmex, there was signs of recovery. Have such a fear of this lipbalm and I have put it away.

Have lost the receipt so cant even take the unopened and sealed one back.

I got this in Natural Mint and, as others have mentioned, the flavoring is really strong. This has has a menthol quality and tingles for a while after applications, similar to the way some Burt's Bees lip products tingle only more so. I found this pleasant, and don't mind the flavor. Avoid if you are sensitive to things smelling a little medicinal.

The consistency is very similar to Carmex, I think, a little more viscous than something like Kiehl's lip balm, absorbs into the lips better than something like Vaseline/petroleum jelly.

While I finished the tube and was satisfied with the performance of this treatment (I think it was more a protectant than a treatment) for the price, I think this would be more appropriately priced at around $5. I would not repurchase as would rather try different products with the hope that they would be superior. I found using Elizabeth Arden's 8 hour skin protectant (just using it on the lips), to be the best of this type of lip treatment (this consistency of product), and high quality shea butters absorb better than something like this.

I love this! Better than aquaphor and fresh lip balm. Not too sticky and it moisturizes my lip better than anything!! I think it's kind of pricey but I love it.
EDIT: After a year's use I've decided the menthol in this is way too strong. The smell even gives my SO an eye allergic reaction. I have gone back to aquaphor and am much happier.
