This is the first highlighter I bought from Benefit. It gives a very subtle sheen. And I would say it's a sheen rather than shimmer. If you like the natural look like I do then this does the job. I like makeup that doesn't look like you have any. I do agree with one of the posters that said when you rub it in your face, it does rub off the cream blush I put it on top off. That's not a deal breaker for me though. I will purchase this again but not full price. Best to get it during Sephora F&F

Didn't like it at all. I applied it over my foundation. It made a mess and created a cakey look over my cheek bones. I tried it a few times and ended up with same result. I guess I should stick with a powder highlighter since cream ones are very difficult to blend. I'm returning this one.. The reason I gave it 2 lippies instead of one is because it has a very subtle glow which is what I'm looking for.

changing my mind about this one, i really couldnt see a difference between this and the highbeam indoors, but wow is all i can say when i went outside. such a diiference! its more of a bronzy color that is gorgeous. and you dont need that much so im sure the tube will last a while

Didn't like the golden sheen. I much more prefer iridescence or some actual kind of pearly sheen, not gold. I tested this at Sephora, so I won't buy it. Costs too much anyway & the packaging is unnecessarily clunky.

This product is a dulled version of Moon beam and gives less of a sheen, so if you want a very subtle glow, this is for you. But i have found more problems than pros.
The packaging, is...odd. I've never understood Benifits packaging, it put me off buying their products for a very long time because it seems immature and unprofessional. But this product comes in a twisty thing haha and i can think of so many better ways to have this product dispensed than the one Benifit have chosen and i dont know why they did this. I like moon beams packaging, much more practical.
The other issue is that when it is applied over your make-up as a highlighter, it rubs off the already applied make-up!!! This really bugs me as it was the whole reason i bought it and i cant use it this way. But if you dont wear any face make-up this would look lovely over moisturiser to give you a ittle sheen for the day
:)

I've tried a bunch of highlighters recently and concluded I like ones with a blue undertone rather than a yellow one, despite or maybe because my skin has yellow undertones. This is very yellow, not at all what I expected from the name. To me a pearl has a white glow, or blue undertone, not all pearls of course, the the traditional look of pearls is that way and what I wanted. That said, its a nice enough highlighter, pretty and good if its the look you're going for.

I am against buying most Benefit cosmetics because I think they're overpriced, but had to get this one since I could not find a dupe anywhere. I would say Girl Meets Pearl has a very fine but dense consistency. The golden shimmer particles are very small so it is not grainy or glittery at all, yet it reflects and diffuses light so beautifully. I dab it over my foundation on my cheekbones, the inner corners of my eyes and cupid's bow, and just run whatever's left down the bridge of my nose. It does not accentuate any lines, pores or bumpy surfaces like High Beam did. For reference I am a warm toned NC25. I cut two lippies though because despite the miracle it does it is still too expensive.

I tried this product in America, Before it was released in the UK. The lady was like let me put it on you and to be honest i was like WOW, This is amazing. Soon as i got home i purchased this product and it was brand new in the UK. I think this is a brilliant product i really do. The smell is amazing and the product has a lovely highlight to it, Like a pinky/pearly colour. However, I am not sure if this product really does me a lot of justice. It's very very expensive i think. I do like it though, Just not in love with it like i once was.

I got this in the Finding Mr. Bright kit and I really like it. I already own High Beam and Moon Beam and this one is the most subtle out of the three. My favorite way of using this is to mix it in with You Rebel. Gives a nice glow that doesn't look oily or greasy.

Wow, alone, on top, or mixed with your foundation this gives you a great, dewy, refreshed look. Everytime I wear this on my cheekbones, I get a compliment on how I have a "glow." I like to mix it in with my foundation to give an all over dewy look but you can concentrate on your brow area or cheeks and it will look fantastic as well.

This product itself is great. It's packaging? A bit to frilly and impractical for my taste. It has a scroll and the product comes through holes (like "That Gal", Benefit's primer) and it tends to get stuck, break completely or seep through into the top lid part.

I've been a fan of Benefit for years, as they have such a perky and bright air about them. All their products SMELL great, especially this one. Sadly, the plastic was a bit flimsy because after I dropped it on my hardwood flooring (GENTLY!) the entire lid broke. It may have been my fault. XD I would have preferred the product to be in a normal pump or squeezy bottle.

Now back to the product. It's a real wow. I never use that much foundation as I don't have wrinkles or many blemishes. I'll put on That Gal to smooth out and Girl Meets Pearl to add a subtle iridescence. If I do though, I definitely like to mix this with some liquid foundation for a dewy glow. Subtle is the key thing Girl Meets Pearl has that other all-over highlighters DON'T. I love, love, love it. Packaging bumps it down a star, although I know there are many people who do indeed like the twisty scroll thingy. xx

I was initially cynical about this product simply because I already had Moon Beam and High Beam and found them to both be very effective.

I tried this product at Sephora on two separate occasions before purchasing, because after the That Gal purchase I didnt want to have a similar experience. I tried the product with the You Rebel as a base and my usual foundation cover and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This product really pearlises on your cheeks and forehead. I took some pictures and it kind of gives an illuminated effect. So I purchased the product and using the same application technique of using a brush to apply onto skin to get the most out of the product this works a treat and ensures you get more product value.

I noticed after 4 hours that the Girl Meets Pearl was still noticeable and after 8 hours was there in place, I did think if I wanted to go out I would probably apply a little over the top and then reblush possibly but it is effective. I will use this product not in conjunction but continue to use the other highlighters depending on the look.

I had a concern that it may get a bit oily especially on my forehead but it didnt seem to or work itself into lined areas either which is positive.

My one gripe would be about the turn applicator, it took quite a few turns to get the product out and then it is like That Gal you turn it and dont know if you are near the end of the cannister. That is a bit of a shame really and for me I can't buy this product in my country it needs to be ordered online or when I visit the US or Australia.

Thumbs up however for effect.

This product made my skin look greasy. No matter how I powdered, it just wouldn't go away! It wasn't cheap either. I'm disappointed because it looked so cute in the packaging. :(

Beautiful pink, pearly highlighter that works very well for fair skin. Creates a beautiful glow, perfect for the cheeks and cheekbones for an evening look. Girl Meets Pearl has a delicate oyster-like shimmer. I like to mix a a small amount with foundation for dewy, radiant skin day or night. Feels luxurious to use, brightens up my make-up routine.

I love this thing! I bought it yesterday at Sephora but I initially went in for the nars orgasm illuminater and wasnt very pleased with the texture of that because it almost felt like I was putting on aloe vera gel (like the one for sunburns) not only that I didnt undertand what all the great raves were about cause when I sampled it on my hand it was very sheer and I understand it is supposed to be but this was extremely sheer and it gave me very liitle sparkle but not much and I def would not say it was anything close to looking like a dewy look, not even close. So I then decided to look around at the other brands illuminaters and see what I can find I looked at and tested a few and was just getting ready to leave the store after about 40 minutes and dissapointed that I did not find one that really got me excited about buying, then I look over to my right where the benefit section was and figured I might as well give it a shot,(so glad I did) I found and tested this illuminater and loved the texture, scent, color,(EVERYTHING).I cant say enough good things about it,oh and it comes in a cute pink twist bottle.

This gives such a beautiful glow without being over the top. This is NOT A PRIMER! It's a highlighter. Maybe everyone is getting it confused because the packaging is similar to That Gal?

Love this. A friend bought me Moon Beam for Christmas and, because I already have a half-used bottle of that in my make up stash, I swapped it for this. And very happy with my swap I am, too! It's a pretty colour, applied either as a highlighter or a primer, and as always with Benefit stuff, the packaging is lovely.

Another thing: I also thought Girl Meets Pearl was more than a little reminiscent of Holloywood Glo, which Benefit discontinued a while ago now. Perhaps a litle pinkier than that, but similar all the same.

All in all, me like-y, and I suspect I will re-purchase when it runs out.

I bought this on a whim being I needed a highlighter to add to my collection. I went to my local sephora to look around at first and automatically went to the Benefit counter because their products are usually most known for their lip stains and highlighters. I swatched highbeam and moonbeam but both were either too strong or too sheer to even show up. Of course this is where I noticed the Girl Meets Pearl showcase. They didnt have a tester so I went up to the clerk to tell her if there was any sort of tester I could use to see how it would look and in the end she gave me a teensy sampler. Well let me tell you a teensy sampler lasted me a good 6 uses!! WOWZA man! A little goes a long way here. Even though its listed as a face primer I only use it as a highlighter for my brow bone, cheek bones, nose bridge, cupids bow, and chin. After putting it on it leaves a natural glow to me face making me look instantly awake. In the sunlight one could tell you highlighted your face being there is a noticeable sheen of "glitter" but being indoors most of the day you cant see any signs of obvious shine. Instead your left with a finely milled shiny golden/pink glow instead of those cheap-o chunky glitter highlights most companies provide. I ended up buying the full size product and even though I wont run out in the next year most likely, I would totally repurchase any day.
