I have crappy skin (cleared up considerably since going on BCP though!), and as such am a total foundation junkie. Even if I find a foundation I love more than life itself I will go out and buy more, HE or DS. For reference right now I alternate between this, NARS SG, Boots L&F, Lancome Teinte Miracle, and Laura Mercier oil free. I had a huge bias against Cover Girl and refused to use anything of theirs up until very recently. I was in a drug store one day and there was a sale on this Clean makeup. For $5, which is 1/8th of what I pay for the majority of the other foundations I have on my shelf now, why not? I got it in the oily formula because I'm oily and acne prone. Surprisingly enough, I LOVE this foundation. Being acne prone I've used almost everything under the sun short of motor oil on my face so the smell doesn't bother me in the least. Another reviewer said this made her skin "look like porcelain" and I totally agree. It has a beautiful finish and it wears great (looks good at the end of my 9 hour workday). It doesn't control oil per se but it lasts through it, which for me as an oil well is certainly good enough. It is pretty sheer but is decently buildable. This and my trusty MAC MSFN in light give me a my-skin-but-better, glowy look and don't break me out even slightly. Note that I DON'T expect this to hide 100% of my flaws. If you want full coverage foundation you'll have to look somewhere else. But I seriously couldn't be more pleased with this product for the price. Note: I also tried the sensitive formula and it didn't work nearly as well as the oil control version -- it was gone within a few hours. I still haven't tried the normal skin version but the oil control formula is my favorite.

This smells and looks horrible! It is so runny and the lightest colour doesn't cut ti for me. It makes my skin look oily and cakey and I am finding it hard to use so it isn't a waist.

So sad. I used CG Clean makeup in 515 for years! It worked perfectly for my skin, but this new formula is gross! I cant find a color to match my skin :( I have pink undertones, and every one I've tried seems to have yellow undertones. I also find the product to make my skin oily, as the old formula did not, and I dont have oily skin. I really can't handle the smell either. I am so sad!! I am stuck scraping the last bit of my bottle, and I've been searching all over my town for stores that still carry the old formula! I can't find a good replacement yet :(

I've been wearing Cover Girl Clean for Sensitive Skin in shade 220 (creamy natural). (I've just been to MAC for the first time and picked up Studio Fix Powder Foundation in N5, if that is a helpful statistic for anybody). My face was looking rough and I really needed a liquid foundation, so I asked the girl to help me pick one- I have a hard time picking liquid foundation for myself. The colour is a pretty good match so for drug store I'm pleased with that about it. I find this foundation to be quite thick, so I thin it out with moisturizer. I have a poor complexion and could probably do with the coverage but I just find it hard to apply on its' own. I'm not crazy about the glass jar. Anyhow, this foundation would do in a pinch but I'm not sure if I'll re-purchase when it's gone. It's ok for drug store and Cover Girl, but not great and certainly nothing to write home about. Of the drug store brands, I find Cover Girl is the most likely to have a good colour match for me so I think that's why I bounce around from CG product to CG product. Might go more high-end next time.

Although it's looks great when I first put it on, my otherwise normal skin becomes disgustingly oily within two hours of applying this stuff. Threw my bottle out today.

I thought this product was pretty good. It was my first liquid foundation.

I like it because...
-Its lightweight, so it doesn't look like im wearing too much face makeup. You cant even tell I have it on if I apply it well.
-Some may disagree but I love its smell :)
-It has many skintones to choose from and I found one that matches my skin quite nicely that I use
-It gives a decent coverage. I have to use spot concealer on my acne still, but the redness of my cheeks, blackheads and other minor blemishes are well covered by it.

I dont like it because...
-I dont enjoy the fact I have to pour to get it out. Its not horrible because its easy to pour out but the pumps are much better for makeup I find.
-It lacks coverage on my acne, but then again it doesnt really matter otherwise it'd proabably lose its clean, no-makeup effect if it was heavy enough to cover acne. Even so, it does a decent job nonetheless and can easily fix the issue by using concealer underneath.

If you want a light, simple foundation then I recommend it. It blends nicely and if blend problems occur its easy to get a wet cloth then fix it up.
I would repurchase if I didnt find anything better because it suffices fine for me. :)

cover girl doesnt make very good face products :( but their eye products are pretty good! anyways, this liquid foundation didnt last long, and with very little coverage. it is very lightweight though, so i guess beginners can start off with this. this was actually my first liquid foundation but i didnt even like it :(

I got the Sensitive formula, for reference.

At first application, I thought that the foundation was so smooth and nice to apply. It was so easy and nice, gliding on evenly. Coverage is medium or so (if i remember correctly). It covered most if not all my redness (and back then i had naturally pigmented cheeks but a redness relief product reduced it).

All sounds good so far. But.

It melts. So easily.

Just a drop of water, and the wet area will already start to break down when the makeup had been on for awhile already.

So basically, it's not waterproof. And it's not that I even need waterproof/sweatproof makeup (i'm no sportswoman nor do I workout on a daily basis) but if it rains or something, I'll be... screwed. Most foundations I've tried (which is quite a bit) have never been 90-100% water/sweat-proof and nor do I care THAT much about it, but if a product (no matter if it's a foundation or even an eyeshadow) melts off my face with a bit of water or rain maybe even face oil, then that's not a good product whether it's smooth or high coverage or not.

I'd only recommend this product to dry skin types and people who are not near rain, water or anything that is liquidy to mess up the makeup. that's like ... (almost?) no one.

This foundation was ok, although not the best I have ever used. The first problem I have with this product is its smell – it is absolutely vile! It’s a cross between eucalyptus oil and a chemical cleaning product. None of the ingredients look like natural products whatsoever. Whenever I apply this to areas around my eyes of lips, it BURNS AND STINGS!!! It is also extremely thin and runny, so a good quality primer needs to be applied under this foundation, and a lot of foundation needs to be applied to give an even and adequate coverage. I have also found it almost impossible to apply this foundation with a brush because it just becomes so streaky – I suspect this is because it is such a thin product. It also needs to be set with a powder as it is quite sticky even when it has dried. Once you have gone to all the trouble of actually getting it applied to your face however, it does tend to have good quality staying power and it has a nice finish after it has been set with powder. I also don’t like the fact that this comes in a glass bottle, which means that there is a whole lot of product that you can’t get out when the bottle gets emptier. Overall an ok foundation and you get what you pay for, but definitely not worth buying again.

Nice product. Did not break me out. I had to use more than my other HE makeup. Because of the bottle design: When I pour it out a waste product. (I'm not fond of the glass container. I wish it were plastic. I’m a slight klutz and I dropped it on the bathroom floor. A few pieces of bottom rim chipped off but the bottle itself was still OK./I took of ¾ a point for the glass container.

Im sorry to see so many disappointed customers on here when it comes to this foundation. But to each their own, right? Here's my findings:

I bought my second bottle of this today, in "natural Ivory" sensitive skin formula. The color is spot on for me. I actually went looking for the oily skin one but it was nowhere to be found, and since I am prone to breakouts sensitive skin works fine too. I find it gives me really good coverage. I used to apply it with a wet sponge but decided that was too sheer for me and started using a dry sponge with a better result. It can streak if you dont stay on top of it, so watch out when you're blending! I put a setting powder on top of it to finish the look. Yeah, I've noticed it doesnt stay the best all day (maybe if I use a primer? Hmmmmm), but I feel that when it slips no one notices too much. It settles into lines if you accidentally use too much.

With this formula, I use less concealer so that's a bonus for me, since my concealer is pricy.

But my real gripe is the glass bottle. Just today I was putting some on my hand to blend and tapped the bottle too hard and too much came out. What a waste! I try to store it upside down so I dont have to tap. Please be careful when trying to get some out or you'll get waaaay too much, I wish it was in a pump bottle or a squeeze bottle, anything to give me better control when Im preparing in the mornings...The bottle is pretty and if I drop it I know it wont shatter all over the floor, but that's not all its about, Cover Girl. Functionality, please.

It doesnt give off a wicked smell either, which is great when you want to kiss your boyfriend and dont want to tip him off too much that you have the whole 'no makeup' look going on (I find my physician's formula powder brand smells a little strong). If the smell scares me, I know for a fact it's going to scare him!

Im always on the hunt for my HG liquid foundation. I dont believe this is it, but I feel like Im getting closer!

Okay overall this product is pretty good, I have it in the sensitive skin formula in the shade 255 soft honey. Why I said I would'nt buy this product again is because I still looking for a good drugstore foundation and this is my first drugstore foundations so yeah... But the coverage of this foundation is actually pretty good, it doubles up as a light coverage concealer if you want to and is gives a satin finish for me. If you have oilier skin I would try the different formulas in this foundation because this a quiet moisterizing foundation. I rated the price of this foundation a 3 because for $7-$8 I don't think it's worth it, but I saw it at Target for about $5 so I guess the price is pretty good there but I went to Rite Aid to get it so the price was higher. The reason I rated the pakaging a 3 was because the foundation does not have a pump so u have to keep it upside down all the time or else it will all settle at the bottom of the jar. Oh I almost forgot, the consitancy of this foundation feel like a liquid mousse and it also gives you a pretty good blending time and staying power (probably no more the 7 hours and it will dissolve completely.

When it comes to my foundation I'm not really that picky because I have the good fortune of having a pretty clear complexion on my face.

However, when it comes to my makeups I like to try different brands and see which ones are :) and which are :(.

I use the CoverGirl Clean Makeup Sensitive Skin. I won't be using it again when I run out. Its so a :(

This formula is horrible. It doesn't spread well no matter how long you blot or dab or brush out. Its just plain icky. I feel like a painting because you can see all the strokes I've made to try blend "in" the product.

Also it doesn't have an all day wear either. Even when I use powder to set it. By the end of the day it looks like I haven't applied any makeup to my face at all that day. And the sad part is I don't touch my face so where did it all go?

If you want a good coverage foundain that stays on all day, this product so isn't for you (or me). Try looking at another brand for foundain like I'll be doing soon.

Luckily I got this for free but now that I've used it I would never shell out money for it.

I have the version for sensitive skin in 220, creamy natural. I usually use this shade in cover girl foundations but now there is an overbearing pinkiness to the shade that was never present before. That was the first disappointment.

The second disappointment was that it does not blend very well, and whether or not you have primer, it always sits very cakey on your skin. Not only this but it seeps into every pore and makes you look very uneven.

And the smell is atrocious.
I was hoping for more and sadly didn't get it.

This is the first foundation I ever used and I will continue to use it. I have used both the normal skin and oily skin formulas. The oily skin one is better for my skin, since I have combination skin, but the normal skin one works just as well for me during the cold seasons. I like that it is easy to blend and allows my skin to breathe. I would say the coverage is light to medium, but you can build the coverage up. I also like that it's a decent price, it's about $5 at stores in my area. It also dries up any blemishes I have on my face so they are gone within a couple of days. The only complaints I have for this foundation are that: 1) I wish there were more of a variety of shades. I'm currently using Warm Beige and it's a little too pink, but the darker shades are too dark for me. 2) I wish it were in a pump bottle or something. I really hate the packaging. Other than those two complaints, I really like this foundation and will continue to use it.
Edit: I bought this foundation in the shade Warm Beige but the formula for oily skin since I could never find the one for oily skin in stock. This particular foundation is a much better match for my skin. It isn't a perfect match, for it makes my face SLIGHTLY lighter than the rest of my body. But it's not that noticeable so I will continue to buy this particular formula and shade for now on.

This foundation is pretty decent. I only bought it because I realized that I had never tried a Cover Girl foundation before. It is pretty sheer-medium coverage (depending on how much you use/how you layer it). It lets my skin breathe and looks very natural. I only used it a few times and switched back to my various Maybelline foundations. I do recommend it but it is not necessarily my favourite. I might buy it again but probably not because there are a lot that I like better than this one. Long story short, very good foundation but I would not choose it over my Maybelline ones.

This foundation was only so-so, the colour was ok (very light for my pale skin) but like many others getting the thick formula out of the container was a hassle, and because it was so thick I found I had to mix it with lotion to apply with a foundation brush. Didn't do much for me in terms of oil control either...

I have gotten way more compliments wearing the CoverGirl Clean Makeup in Sensitive Skin than I have wearing even the most expensive foundations, like MAC and Bare Minerals! This foundation lets your skin breathe while evening it out, and I love how it makes my skin look beautifully natural. I don't even need much. I would have to describe it as a tinted moisturizer on steroids. The coverage is pretty buildable, too, for hiding the occasional breakout. I have tried both the Sensitive Skin and Oil Control formulas, and I have to say that I find the Sensitive Skin formula to control oil better then the oil specific formula. I absolutely love this foundation, and for 5 bucks, I can definitely swing it! One bottle lasts me about three months.

The only thing I really hate is the packaging. I wish they would put it in a pump, because its very hard to get out and I often find myself sticking an eyeshadow brush handle in it like a clogged bottle of ketchup.

I have repurchased three times now, and I don't think there's any going back now! HG!
