I'm a big fan of this stuff. I have used BE over the years on and off because I always fall for the hype that it is the best thing to use on skin, but it has never provided good coverage or matched my skin well. I don't know why I kept going back to it, good advertising I guess. Anyways, I went to ulta to buy more BE and saw this, I had never heard of it, never read any reviews, I just friggin bought it and I am really glad. My skin has drastically improved and is breaking out way less, actually it is barely breaking out. This, in conjunction with DDF 5% BP w/tea tree and philosophy's hope in a jar dry skin, have completely changed my skin. I'm talking about years of breakouts, uneveness, and oiliness; not terribly bad just uncomfortable leaving the house without at least concealer. So I use this product because I feel so finished and polished, yet completely natural looking with it on. It also feels like I'm not wearing any makeup. I'm glad I fell for the hype (according to the packaging) with this one, my uneveness without makeup is reduced as are my breakouts and oiliness. I also don't use a primer or any other concealer, just this and a little blush. Good luck!

I bought this product because at the time there was a gift with purchase deal going on...
Initially it was great, good coverage, and long-lasting qualities. However I have always had one MAJOR problem with this product...This product highlights large pores, it magnifies them, making every pore look disgustingly huge.I refuse to buy more of it, I still have so much left :( Kinda a wast of money but I at least learned a lesson. I guess this just depends on your skin type, my skin is mild acne but acne prone, and my pores have seriously grown for some odd reason over the past few months..if you have awesome skin and need light long lasting coverage then I think this makeup will do you good. If however your skin is in rough condition I would strongly urge you to try something else.
also getting matched was so difficult, the shade the lady ended up matching me with was still off...

i've always had a problem finding a powder that wouldn't give me that powdery cakey look. i actually received this in my birchbox and i wasn't too thrilled at first. i need a little bit of coverage when it comes to foundation since my face has a lot of redness. this powder on it's own is nothing special to me. however, i recently started using it as a setting powder. i love it. it sets my makeup so it doesn't slide off, yet it still leaves me looking fresh and not cakey. it makes my skin feel very silky too. i use it with a flat top brush and i love the finish it gives. i'm hoping that in the summer i'll be able to get away with just wearing this. it doesn't last al day on me, but hardly anything does. the packaging doesn't really bother me. it would be nice if it had a mirror but i can manage without. the price seems pretty steep though. $25 for less than an ounce? oy vey. i'm hoping this continues to work well for me since it's been an arduous journey trying to find a decent setting powder for my combo skin.

This is my HG (for now ;) ) ... I normally never use a powder foundation. But my when my bestie bought this and I tried it I just had to buy it.
I've been through 3 or 4 pots now. The product is pretty pricey considering it doesn't last me long... maybe 3 weeks of everyday use.
Its very buildable .. but you can go overboard.
But with a light sweep over your entire face it has good coverage and I find my skin has a nice glow (when not too much product is applied)
When I run out I can't resist buying more. I wish I could get a bigger pan.
I first bought the mini three products with the brush. I loved the combination of the three.. even in pictures my face has a perfect glow. However I can't justify spending 90$ on three full sized products. So I just stick to the powder (along with my smashbox products)
Lasts almost the whole day.. but I find myself reapplying my make up in the evening. Might have to cave and buy urban decay make up setter... sigh...
Will repurchase again and again :)
(PS doesn't make me break out.. which other cream foundations ALWAYS do.. so another big bonus)

This is the perfect foundation for an everyday basis. If I use a fluffy brush or a kabuki brush, I just buff it into my skin. It doesn't take much thinking. It's not full coverage; I have acne scarring (especially on my chin), redness, and (currently) mild acne. However, I think that for an everyday basis, it's a natural look for some flaws to peek through. I would say it's a medium coverage; however, it could be buildable. I have combination skin, and in the winter that means my forehead and cheeks are dry. If I'm doing a good job maintaining my skin (exfoliating, moisturizing), then the foundation is fine for my dry skin. However, if my skin is too dry, then it will make my skin look drier by settling into the cracks of my flaky skin. I think that's expected especially since I don't use primer everyday. Anyway, it's a good quality foundation. This comes from someone whose biggest concern is her skin :)

I always had a problem finding the right colour for my olive skin, I would either find something too orange or too chalkish for my tone. But I finally found the perfect colour, I use Pur Minerals in the shade: Golden Medium. Along with the perfect colour match, I like how this foundation is Multi-Functional and Low-Maintenance, It has a SPF, Concealer, Foundation, Powder all included and all it takes is the swipe of a brush. I would usually have to use all of those things separately, all while using separate brushes, basically it saves a lot of time and effort! The coverage is very good, not to heavy or light, it covers blemishes and scars well and I avoid sunburn on my face from prolonged sun-exposure when using this product as well! I absolutely love this product and I will never replace it, I am in love <3

I like this product but I would not buy it again because it is not the best color match and there are better foundations out there. When I apply the color in light, I look too pale in some lighting and ok in others. Usually most foundations' color labeled "light" is a perfect or almost perfect match. So to anyone buying this, go a shade darker.
It can apply patchy sometimes if your skin is dry so make sure to properly moisturize right before applying it.
Edit: After using this a few times I found little bumps around my mouth. I think I'm allergic to this.

I love this foundation. I have tried other mineral makeup and it either wore off after a while or looked blotchy. I've also tried liquid but HATED the heaviness. I have acne scarring and hyperpigmentation, so I need something with coverage that will not break me out. This stuff is great. I put just a little concealer on the darker spots and then add a few layers of this foundation. It looks really natural and it covers really well. I love it. I try not to sleep in my makeup, but on the occasional time that I have had to, this doesn't break me out. In fact, I feel like it could be helping my skin.

This is my first experience with a a quality mineral makeup. I had tried some cheap Mabeline stuff awhile ago but it was awful and orange and gross.
I bough the lightest shade avalable (porcelaine) and I find it to be a great match. I have very dry skin, and although this can highlight some dry flakes, they're pretty easy to remove and I prefer a couple of flakes to the splotchy red mess that is my skin. I tend to pick, so even if I don't have a ton of pimples, I look like I do because of all the little aggrivated red marks on my face. This product helps cover them in a way that no other foundation or concealer has before. Not seeing the red spots in the mirror helps prevent me from picking more, so really it's breaking a bad habit.
To apply, I've been using a small round eyeshaddow brush to apply heavily on the spots, and then applying a lighter layer over the whole face with a kabuki brush to blend. Even though I'm wearing it a lot heavier than I've worn makeup before, it sits a lot more comfortably on my skin than other products I've had, so I don't feel like a painted up joke.

Pur mineral 4 in 1 mineral powder. When I originally bought this I loved it, but since been using it for some time now I find it's not working so well. I like the idea of 4 in 1, but I find it makes my pores seem larger and looks a bit cakey after a few hours. have been on the search for that perfect foundation, have yet to find it.

I have tried a different brand of mineral powder foundation and was unimpressed by the results. This time around, I decided to try Purminerals. Wow. What a difference. It lasts all day and looks as fresh as it does when first applied. No caking, no flakiness, just smooth, glowy skin!

I generally like this product, the fairer color matches my pale skin and I like it as a powder foundation or setting powder over foundation. Worked out well for me. The packaging is a bit bulky to me, but I guess that is the downside. The price is okay, I got a deal on it before and sometimes they have coupons or special kits, so it is not too bad. Otherwise I might go with something less expensive, it doesn't last forever either.

I am absolutely in love with this product. I have extremely oily skin and have been searching for the perfect foundation that matches my skintone and also doesn't make my oily skin any oilier, I also have a lot of redness on my nose and cheeks which NOTHING thus far has been able to cover, this covers it, and EASILY. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this product, and I am glad that I can finally stop searching for a foundation that finally does what it says it will do! I am pretty fair skinned, but not the lightest, and the porcelain shade (which is the lightest) matched my skin perfectly!!

The rosacea on my cheeks has always made me lean towards fuller coverage foundations. Before purchasing this product, I was very skeptical about it, I had never heard of a powder that had so much coverage that it could double as a concealer. It wasn't until I was at my work (Shopper's Drugmart Beauty Boutique) and saw one of my co workers apply it on someone that I realized that it was worth a try. I bought the starter kit, took it home and applied it, I was amazed by how well it worked! Now, I do think that the Pur Minerals brush does play an important role. The brush is very dense and makes it very easy to pick up a could amount of product.
If you have dry skin like me, you want to make sure you exfoliate and moisturize very well, otherwise, it will make your skin look flaky. Also, at my work, we have a hard time getting it in because the company itself has a hard time filling their orders (they sell Pur Minerals on the Shopping Channel so there is a very high demand for the product). Those are the only two cons that I can think of!

i had been wearing cream foundation for a while.. but since i wear foundation daily i wanted to find something less heavy and good for everyday use.i purchased the pur minerals powder foundation from Ulta in the shade golden dark. i have brown skin with yellow undertones and the shade is a perfect match. it covers my hyperpigmentation well(without adding concealer), and it gives my face a smooth, radiant look. i have discovered that in order for this foundation to look really nice, you have to moisturize well before hand and apply it with the right tool. after some experimenting, i found that my sonia kashuk pointed foundation brush applies it the best. another wonderful thing about this makeup is that is has skin perfecting ingredients in it! it has retinol, lactic acid, shea butter, vitamin e,spf, as well as some other good things. so while you are covering your flaws, you are also treating them at the same time. i've noticed that my skin is looking better without makeup on. now on to the negatives... its just okay at controlling oil- not great, it does take me quite some time to build the foundation up to full coverage, i have to use a lot of extra moisturizer under and around my eyes because this makeup causes excessive dryness in those areas.overall im happy with this foundation and unless it starts to cause breakouts, i will continue repurchasing. will do an update regarding breakouts in a few weeks.
UPDATE:
im not liking it as much as i did when i first got it. i liked the application i got with the sonia kashuk brush but it took sooo long to apply the foundation with it. so i invested in the pur minerals chisel brush to see if that would speed up the process..it did somewhat but really didnt make a huge difference. it still takes way too long to get the coverage that i need. also, now that its getting warmer, this make up gets really oily and starts melting off by mid day.the new version has shea butter in it and im sure thats the reason for the oilyness. although i get good coverage when i first apply it, when i start getting oily the makeup starts to fade and my dark spots start to show. i tried setting it with an oil control powder and that didnt help.. blotting is not an option because it removes too much of the foundation. i tried touching it up and i looked too cakey. i would say this foundation is better for ladies with dry/normal skin.also, i get that raccoon look around my eyes. i guess adding a cream concealer would help to conceal my eye circles and dark spots but if thats the case i may as well just keep using my cream foundation.its a bummer because the shade is a really good match,it was improving my skin, and it didnt cause any breakouts but its going back to Ulta :(

I just wanted to start off by saying that I have a really acne-prone skin, It was very hard for me to find a foundation with good coverage that will not cause my skin to break out. Also, I've had a very hard time finding a foundation that matches my skin tone. I tan easily in the summer and in the winter I have a yellow undertone and it's noticable when my tan starts to fade. And it's really frustrating because I would need to purchase a whole different color of foundation because of how my tan fades so much. I usually purchased liquid foundation because of my dry skin as well which didn't help my oily T-zone.
I thought I would never find a foundation for me because of how complicated my skin was. That is, until I discovered this product. I was hesitant to purchase at first and the cosmetics lady said that I matched the Golden Medium but it was a bit lighter when she put it on so I was being picky and asked for her to try Tan. I saw my face and it was literally life changing. It matched my summer skin tone PERFECTLY and even now that it's winter it still somehow matches even though my tan has faded... It looks so natural and I only need one application rather than my old routine of primer, liquid foundation, powder makeup to set. The fact that it has SPF 15 is a huge BONUS because it's very important in keeping your skin healthy. I think the only problem I have is that sometimes I would have to reapply during the day because I get oily and it helps mattify my skin. But then again, who doesn't need to freshen up a little during the day?
I like the chisel brush that came with the trial package instead of the sponge that comes with the regular sized foundation for my dry skin. This product goes a long way. I've used the trial package and almost done my second regular sized foundation now and I think it's been almost a year and a half now since I started using this. (I use it every day) So if you want this to last, using the brush that comes in the trial package definitely helps.

I have this in Light. I use this powder to set my tinted moisturizer and provide some more coverage. I really like it. I've hit pan and I will buy it again most likely. It mattifys your face but not too much, I have dry skin and it doesn't accentuate the dryness. It evens everything out and doesn't look overly powdery.

I can't believe I hadn't written a review on this yet! I love love love this foundation.
I first tried this through the starter pack and got the color blush medium. It was a bit too pink but it worked out. The compact was a little hard to open but it was just a trial compact. The powder gives such great coverage and applies so smoothly, I prefer using a natural textured brush.
When I finally purchased the full size, I got the color Golden Medium and it matches almost perfectly. This compact is also perfect. Easy to open, closes securely and has a nice mirror. It also looks sleek. But most importantly the actual product is perfect.
Even with my acne prone skin that has developed acne scars, this foundation gives me smooth, even toned skin.

I bought Pur after it was featured on the Today Show's Steals and Deals a few months ago...the price was ok and it came with a few other items along with the foundation. I have used Bare Minerals for a couple of years and thought I would give this a try... What a disaster! My skin is sensitive, mild rosacea and tends to become irritated easily. I dont know what ingredient is causing the trouble, but I have not had break outs like this since junior high. Color and coverage were good, and I liked that it was not a loose powder-and therefore less messy than other mineral powders but it's making a mess of my skin.
I'll be returning to Bare Minerals.
