I prefer this over the jumbo pencils. This is ok at making bright colors pop, but it still creases a little bit. I like the jar it comes in and the price can't be beat. It also smells nice. Maybe i need to try doing a thinner layer so it doesn't crease so much. Overall I like it and put that I would repurchase :)

I love this eyeshadow base!! It's like the jumbo pencil but you don't have to bother sharpening and it's less thick!!
As the name says it is an eyeshadow BASE, not a primer.
So, it won't prevent creasing, but it will enhance the colors of your eyeshadows and also they tend to stick better to the lid.
So, if you put a primer under this base, it works wonders!!
I also love that it doesn't difficult the blend process like other bases do (Painterly Paintpot by MAC for example).
The price is very affordable.
I recommend it and i will definitely repurchase! :D

This is a great eyeshadow base. It makes my eyeshadows POP. Keep in mind, this is NOT a primer, it doesn't prevent creasing. With that in mind, I use a thin layer of UDPP under this and it works fine. No creasing whatsoever and I have to wear my shadows at least 12 hours a day on the days I work. I also have the pearl one and the skin tone one and I like all three. I would repurchase and I do recommend.

I started getting involved with makeup within this past year via YouTube. When I first started using makeup, I didn't think you needed anything besides eyeshadows and eyeliners, so when I saw that the gurus were using primers and bases, I had to get this. This was fairly cheap. I ordered online and was excited when I received my purchases a week later. The packaging was good. It also had a nice smell to it, kind of like the Nivea lotion. Anyways, I tried this out onto my lids and applied my eyeshadows. The eyeshadows looked really good and looked more vivid and brighter then by itself. I used this throughout the day and noticed that around lunch time, my eyeshadows started creasing. By 3:00 o' clock, it was sweating off. I was disappointed but had no other use but to keep using it since that was my first primer/base I had purchased. I did use the product a lot and still looks good as new. Needless to say, I stopped using it. But it does work well if you use UDPP on the lid first and then the base.

I do not love this base and I do not hate it. The thing i like about it is that it does not crease your eyeshadow and it is very cheap. The bad thing is that I find when you use it it takes away the sparkle that is in a cream eyeshadow. I might buy this product again it all depends.

This is the best eyeshadow base! In fact I think it's better than the famous UDPP!(much cheaper!) It does makes my eyeshadow colour look more intense and vivid it also makes my colors stay put all day! It doesn't creases your eyeshadow! Definitely will buy again! Cheap and good!! All you have to do is using a finger dab bit on eyelids. And eyes are ready for colours!

I use this eyeshadow base in white to help bright colors pop. A primer is need or it will crease like crazy, so I put it over my MAC Painterly Paint Pot and my eyeshadow stays on all day and the colors don't fade. I will buy this again but maybe in the pearl white color too.

Well i was dissapointed in this primer.I bought it yesterday at Ulta and it creased when i put it on but it was able to smooth it out pretty easy. I put it on at 1:30pm and by 8 i looked in the mirrow and i had no eye shadow left! even my liquid eye liner was dissapearing! which was also nyx. Even when I don't use eye primer my eye shadow stays for hours i thought it would be easier with this on. Don't waste your money.

Like many other reviews have said, this is not an eyeshadow primer. This isn't going to prevent creasing if you have crease-prone lids. You're going to need a primer for that. What this product is going to do is intensify the color and help it last longer.
That being said, I've found that it works just the same if you use the NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk as a base. Don't go out and buy this product if you already have the jumbo pencil because (for me, at least) the Milk pencil works even better as a base than the actual base. The base itself is a little chalkier and thicker consistency, but they have the same effect on the shadow.
Overall, though, this is a fairly decent product. If you don't already have the jumbo pencil, this will be a good base for your eyeshadows (as long as you keep in mind that it is *not* a primer).

I saw a make up guru on youtube using this, and thought, well, if they're using it, I should! So off to Ebayland I went and found it and got it. It's not perfect. BUT. It does make some of my eyeshadows that with any other base dont' show the colour in the pan, show up. Sometimes I mix it with a skin tonned base to create a different sorta look.
For the amount you spend on it (I think I paid around $8AUD for it) you really should give it a go. Its still in my make up drawer, not under my basin where all my "emergency make up" is, so its still good in my books.
And for those that are all "eww you use your finger in the pot"....Use a small concealer type brush?? Its not 'fingers or nothing'.

I used to use concealer under my e/s but no more. I like how my eyeshadow colors appear more "true" when I use this as a canvas. I find that a thin (THIN, too thick and it will crease) layer applied with my fingertip works best, and that it seems to have some oil controlling properties. I don't have very oily lids but with this e/s does not fade, change color and stays in place. I get minimal creasing, but this is better than the MAC select cover I used to use on my lids. For $6, this is a bargain. I imagine it to be the Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick in Milk in a pot. I don't mind that it comes in a pot, if it gets gross I'll just scrape off the top layer. They give you a lot and I use so little that it's worth the money. I personally like this product and I agree with some of the comments below that it brightens the eye area in general. I'm happy that I got this on an impulse buy.

I really like this. And everyone, it does say eyeshadow base, not primer. I just use it alone, because I really haven't ever had major problems with creasing.

This works great! However, you will need to layer a primer underneath and I use a mineral concealer in fair on top of the base to set it. I don't find it oily at all and I have not experienced any creasing. It does make your eye shadow POP and it brightens up your eyes completely.
Sometimes, I use this eye shadow base and add a very light eyeshadow and it makes me look years younger. My DH even noticed when I started to use this base ~ he noticed it the first time that I wore it. I will definitely buy this product again...

First off, this is not an eyeshadow primer. I think that is why so many people are disappointed. This is a base, so if you have crease-prone lids, you will need a primer underneath this. This is used purely to make colors more vibrant and does help with staying power (when used with a primer). Comes in a pot, so germophobes may not like that. It is a decent product when used correctly. Did I mention this is not a primer???

I am surprised to see negative reviews on this, I am super oily, require a eye primer and this one works great on me. I used a mary kay primer for years which comes in a tube and is more of a light cream consistency. I was skeptical about using one that felt "stickier" but I have no issues with creasing. It keeps ALL eye makeup in place on me ALL day. I will continue to use this one. UPDATE...well I am back to Mary Kay, depending on the consistency of the eye shadow I use NYX primer has become very hit or miss. I have applied it, let it dry and then applied eye shadow, will sometimes crease, I have applied it and put eye shadow on while the primer was still a bit tacky thinking maybe it needs to bond with my shadow, will sometimes still crease. I got tired of experimenting and went back to what works for me. Maybe this is good fr people with dry skin, but not for us super oilies.

Waste of money girlz. Creases bigtime and makes ur lids super oily in a matter of minutes. Did not make shadows last at all, just made the colors bleed together and look very muddy.

This really does work in terms of making your colors stand out more BUT it also creases...As soon as I put my shadows over this, I can see my natural creases in my eye more because of the base. I've never timed it to see how long before it creases, but normally I wear it for about 5 hours.

I have this in pearly white colour. Too bad, but it didn't work for me. The eyeshadow was creased already after a few hours when with UDPP it stays put the whole day from early morning to late night.

I got this in white, but maybe should have tried skintone.
This is a good primer - the consistency is very close to their concealer in a pot, which I was using in Yellow, as an e/s base until I got this.
It's just creamy enough to glide on, but does set pretty quickly. It works well to keep color in check throughout the day.

the price was right, but I prefer the NYX Concealer in a Jar in Yellow as my e/s base.
