Not a fan....of Twilight Venom, not Twilight the movie, lol.

I love regular Venom but disliked the dryness of this version, the color does not go on evenly and you absolutely will need a gloss over it (or your lips will actually feel drier than if you had nothing on).

I read the reviews while waiting for this to get this in the mail and it made me nervous. I see alot of people had issues getting the stain to go easy or evenly. I have used Lip Venom before so I was use to the sting that lasts a few minutes but after the first few applications I have had no problem getting the product to go on.

I do agree the color is close to sucking on a cherry pop occasionally and you really should use a clear gloss over the stain if you are wanting a shine as this venom's gloss goes away fast.

I am a huge Twilight fan so I got this for more then one reason anyway.

Much like a vampire, this stuff sucks!

I followed the directions and shook the tube up, then applied a thin layer to my lips. The colour went on very patchy so I rubbed my lips together in an attempt to spread it out. This only caused a lot of the product to go straight into my mouth. Yuck. I wiped it off and went to try again, this time using my fingers to spread the colour. Still uneven and blotchy :( I suppose I could have tried again with a lip brush, but I just don't like this product enough for it to be worth the effort!

I also dislike the texture of this, it's very oily/greasy and thin. The cinnamon scent and flavour isn't too bad but it can be a little much at times. Plumping effect is minimal.

I just received my Lip Venom V in the mail today and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! At first when I saw it in the tube I was a little disappointed, there's a LOT of red/pink glitter in it. Luckily it doesn't show up when applied. I found it a little hard to get the color to go on evenly at first, no matter how much I shake it, when I apply it the color goes on clear with little beads of dark red. Instead of trying to blend it out with the brush I just rub my lips together and it evens everything out. The color is a nice deep red stain (kind of like you've just gotten done eating a red ice pop) and has a nice subtle shine to it (although the shine does wear off after a while the color stays), not like a gloss but it looks like you lips are wet, as if you've just licked them or something. Overall the effect is really sexy.

My only complaint is that the packaging is a little messy. For some reason the first couple times I used it, when I put the brush back in the bottle a little bit of the product would spill over and leak out from under the lid. After using it about 3 times I haven't had that problem but it was a little annoying.

Overall I'm really impressed with Lip Venom V, I ordered 2 and I'll be saving it for special occasions, I may even order more!

When I heard about this product, I was really curious to see how it would look. After waiting a prolonged time for it to arrive (duwop had a lot of orders), I was a bit disappointed with the size. For the $16 plus s&h, I expected more product. However, I was really excited either way. This was my first lip venom, so I wasn't sure about the "tingling" sensation. It burned for a while =/ It was hard to get the color to spread evenly on my lips. I wasn't crazy about the little brush to spread the stain. It hard to get the color even with this brush!!!! But after a few coats and tons of blending, I really liked how it looked. It took a few coats to get the deep, rich cranberry color. It did last for a long time, which was nice. It has a very good cinnamon smell, which makes it nicer to wear =) Now that i have tried it, I can say I probably won't be buying another one. It's too much work...

I really liked Twilight *the books, not the movies so far* so I figured "Why not? I'll give it a shot" So I put it on and it's a really pretty deep color. No shimmer but I'm really glad that it's not the sticky gloss that DuWop normally comes out with. The color lasted for a long time can is really pretty if you put a sheer gloss over it.

I have no trouble admitting that I'm a HUGE Twilight fan, so when I stumbled across this limited-edition product online, I knew I was going to get it. It's pricey - $16.00 plus $6.95 shipping at duwop.com, so when I found out I could get a mini-sample in a magazine (US Weekly's Twilight special edition), I figured I'd try that first. I'm glad I did, because I won't be buying the full size! Unlike a traditional Lip Venom, this is not a gloss but rather a lip stain. You have to shake the product up before use; it's half a dark cranberry color, half clear. It has an amazing cinnamon smell/taste, and it does tingle quite a bit when applied. That faded within a minute or two, and I notice no plumping effect.

The bad side: it's very hard to apply evenly. I got lots of uneven spots all over my lips, and had to try to smooth them out before the product dried. The upper lip was especially tricky, and I ended up applying more than I had intended in my efforts to apply it evenly. When it did dry, it came out as a very deep PINK. Not the cranberry red I was hoping for. (This happens to me with Stila Cherry Crush, too, so it may be me.) I see no shimmering qualities at all. It felt a little dry, so I smoothed some lip balm on top. It lasts a very long time, but the color - meh. People seem to be staring at my lips when I'm talking, and NOT in a good way. At all.

If you have a Kroger near you, and you buy the US magazine for $10, you can get the free 15ml sample. Found several at my local Kroger on July 2, 2009. If you do decide to order it from Duwop.com, use coupon code Venom54U for a 20% discount.

**DuWop website copy**:

Be transformed. Let the alchemy transcend.

This special limited edition Lip Venom is a sneak preview of our highly anticipated Twilight Venom, debuting this Fall. Lip Venom V is not your typical DuWop venom. Instead of a gloss, Lip Venom V is a shimmering crimson lip stain suspended in a venom-laced liquid lip conditioner with a super potent bite (watch out!), and contains argan, avocado, olive oils and vitamin E.

This product should be shaken before use to represent the blending of the human and vampire worlds (edited by me to add: how utterly lame is that explanation?) and applied repeatedly until lips are plumped, revitalized and the desired intensity of color has been reached.
