I love the color and packaging for this, the rose is beautiful!
Summer Rose is a pink colour with a plum tint. I love to use this as a blush with smoky eyes or purple looks. really is a gorgeous color.
I hate how little pigmentation this has though. I really have to layer on the colour to get it to show up on my skintone, but I think the color is worth it.

What can go wrong with this cute blush that's shaped to look like a rose? It is very elegant! The shade is also very flattering! It is a nice rose-y color. Best if used for the summer, hence the "summer rose" name; living up to it's name. It is my go-to blush for the summers.

Like many here, I wanted the beauty powder because of the beautiful rose print! I saw the promo pictures and wanted them! My boyfriend bought me this and just a pinch gel. He asked the ma which one of the two would look good on nc40-42, summer rose was chosen. When I saw it, I thought it was too dark. But as I swiped it, it was sheer. I know it's not a blush, but I'm scared of using beauty powders to set foundation.

I need to swipe my brush a few times to get the color I want. It does fade away :( Gives me a natural glow with no shimmer. I add the color just on the apples of my cheeks. if you add too much, it looks chalky.

Was a little disappointed in this product. It's gorgeous in the pan, but it's really quite sheer. I'm pretty pale and this just barely shows up on me with a couple swipes.

I had bought this beauty powder a while ago with the rose romance collection and I had returned it because it was not pigmented enough. I think the rose imprint caused me to catch less powder. I purchased one from the liberty of london collection and I love it. I'm nc30 and peachy blushes suit me best but this one works well because it's soft on the cheeks. You can build up the color if you want to for a more dramatic look, very versatile. Definitely recommend.

Lovely rose imprint on powder, quite innovative.
I know a lot of people arent fond of blush-beauty powder that's too sheer, but I'm actually happier with subtle sheer washes of colour and this I find is ideal for me.
I love the colour, it's a pretty translucent raspberry pink on cheeks, I adore it.
Though it's summer now and I'm packing on the bronzer, so I won't be wearing it yet, maybe come autumn--funny as it's called ''Summer Rose''! That's good though, as it's too pretty to start using, yet, I'll just admire it for now.

This beautiful beauty powder was released with The Rose Romance collection in May 2009 (here in Sweden). The collection was released on a Friday. I went to the MAC on Saturday morning (just when they had opened) and they only had three Summer Rose beauty powders left. Of course I got one!

To be honest I was initially appealed to the beautiful rose design. This was a LE-item I just had to have. The beauty powder just screamed my name.

I mainly use it as a blush. It's quite sheer. So if you want your blushes to be very pigmented this is not a product for you. On my fair complexion it shows up as a subtle lavender/pink. Really beautiful color but subtle with a glow. Very natural looking. I am going to wear Summer Rose often, especially in the springtime and summer. It's a very beautiful but subtle color with glow. The lasting power is excellent. The only downside with the packaging is that it doesn't have a mirror in it. The price is very reasonable considering some collectible powders from HE-brands cost at least twice the amount I paid for Summer Rose.

If this wasn't a LE-product I'd repurchase. Summer Rose has definitely found a permanent home in my makeup bag.

At first these beauty powder didnt appeal to me at all.I,like many others, swatched one instore and didnt get a single bit of colour.I know they're not blushes but even tho, there should have been something surely. So I was quite happy in passing on this collection. But today whilst instore I asked the MA to apply a bit on my face just out of curiousity and it looked lovely. There was a gorgeous glow of lavender/pink and I loved it.I bought one there and then along with a 109 brush and got a 10% discount as it was discount day :o)
Its similar to coygirl in colour but softer so I dont mind having the two! Might look at the other colour next time Im in town!

I bought both beauty powders from Rose Romance collection, mainly because of the rose design like most of the reviewers here. I wanted them since I saw the promo pictures. And I bought them without even swatching in the store. Finally I tried both BPs the other day and absolutely wowed by the result. I used Blush of Youth on the apples of my cheeks and Summer Rose on the lower side of my cheeks (where you usually contour). This created a subtle gradient look on my cheeks. Brilliant! I wasn't thrilled about any make up product for a long time until I tried these. Mom told me that I look really fresh that day, 'like you don't have make up on' she said :) Definitely back up worthy products. LOVE!

I love this beauty powder/blush. I am a dark olive/tan is the summer and I was afraid this would not show up but it does. Its nice subtle - and has pretty cool pink with no dirty or mauve undertones. Its hard to find a true blue based pink that doesn't make you look clownish

My skin is very yellow when not tan - so I quick swipe of this all over makes it more balanced. I can also layer the powder on the cheek area for more of a blush look or layer over cream blush for a more dramatic look.

I love the rose imprint as well. Probably never need to repurchase as this is huge. I took off one lippie for the packaging cause I hate that mac compacts (unlike other dept store brands) never have mirrors somehow build in.

Looks really nice with the other products in the rose romance collection

Update: I had to B2M this b/c it literally did not show up all no matter what I did. Too bad as it was a nice color to throw over a cream blush. I think future release of this w/out the rose print were better payoff.

This is a very natural looking blush on my pale skin. It has a slightly lavender colouring to it and gives an extremely natural dusting of colour to the face. Perfect for the 'English Rose' complexion!
I also bought 'Blush Of Youth' which again gives a very natural looking effect but this beauty powder appears more red/pink and gives a more 'gently sun kissed' appearance.

These are both really great products, the cute rose design embossed into the powder makes them a beautiful addition to your makeup box.

It is such a shame they are limited edition as I would buy them over and over and over again!!

If you are looking for a very natural blush that just gives a hint of colour to perk up pale skin in your photographs., then either of these would be a great product for you!

The cute rose design embossed into the powder makes them a beautiful addition to your makeup box.

Buy and enjoy!

This was an impulse buy....I usually never buy beauty powders from MAC because they have little to no pigmentation. However i was pleasantly surprised how pigmented Summer Rose was on my NW15 skin. It is the perfect touch of pinkish lavender. I have been using this product as a blush for over a week and i love it. Not to mention how cute the rose imprint on the product is.

I would recommend this for fair skin ladies, i don't see the color showing up on WOC in my opinion. That is one of the draw backs of Beauty Powders it seems they never work on all skin tones.

I will not be buying a back up but if MAC ever decides to repromote this color i will def be buying again

I don't find that these show up very much. I like to add them on top of the gel blush, but other than that I dont see much use for them.

Initially I had tried this at the counter before because I am in love with the different blushes MAC comes out with every collection and by the way i know that this is not a blush. Anyways I put it on and wasn't wowed by it as I was checking out the mineralized duos at the time, but weeks after I decided that most of my blushes I had too much shimmer or were so pigmented and since I put my makekup in a rush in the morning (without much light) by the time I got in my car to go to work I looked like a clown. So back to MAC i went in search of a no fuss blush that I could put on in the dark and not end up looking like a hooker haha. Since i'm a sucker for LE items I decided to give summer rose another try and i LOVE it! It takes about 2-3 times for me to swirl in the product to get the look that i want but TOTALLY worth it, it gives such a soft natural flush and even my mom said it looked good and she always comments that I'm wearing too much lol. It looks matte at first but if you take a closer look it give a subtle sheen to the skin that just makes you're skin look healthy. Oh and I also love that it's a bigger container like the MSF's and not to mention that the rose is really pretty! The product is packed in pretty tightly so that the rose shape doesn't disappear too quickly and it might seem like you're not getting any product on your brush but swirl, (no need to tap off any excess) apply and you're good. I'm nc35-nc40 and it's GORGEOUS, LOVE LOVE LOVE, get one before its all gone.

When I saw this beauty powder I thought it was the cutest thing..which it still is, but when I got it home and tried it on again it doesn't really give any color to my cheeks. I use it as a setting powder after I put on my foundation. It is a good powder but I wish it was a little more pigmented.

MAC Summer Rose is such a beautiful powder that emits a gorgeous, healthy flush to your cheeks. On my NC40 skin tone, it does require some building up to create the perfect glowy flush, but it's completely worth it; it's just beautiful. I love how it builds up so smoothly; no streaking or caking. This would look amazing on fair skin; only a few swipes of this will create a lovely pink flush. I love to pair this with Perfect Topping MSF; dusting it lightly over the apples of my cheeks where I placed Summer Rose, to add a lovely glowy sheen or using Perfect Topping as my highlight. Refined MSF also works beautifully over this; distributing a warm, peachy glow over the lavender toned pink. The rose embossed print is absolutely gorgeous; it makes it such a pleasure to use. I think that the people that have been complaining that it's rock hard and doesn't pick up any colour, have only swiped their finger over the tester in the store. A brand new Summer Rose will distribute a beautiful pinky lavender. You really have to try it with a brush (or sponge) on your cheeks to see just how beautiful this really is.

Duh... and here I was in the slow lane the entire time, thinking this WAS a Blush! (Oh well, lol....!) Luckily, just as others note here, it works perfectly well as a blush anyway, so no "harm" done -- & instead, in fact, plenty o' help: because this really DOES turn out to be a nice little beauty of a Powder, actually; & it's Not Fer Nothin' that Mac does point out in various places their gentle Summer Rose is very much a "violet-pink", btw -- which it most magically & very visibly IS when dusted upon moonly maidens, at least! Hence it looks great on super-pale skin (NW/NC 5? I saw some loose powder w/that # @ Mac online recently: but does it indeed signify a barely-there colour number for us 'Somewhere Uber The Moonglow" goils, after all?) // Anyhoo it's VERRRY striking to play up this violet aspect of "Summer Rose" w/ MUFE's blush "Lavender #9", which is a pure eponymous shot: & though that may sound like it'd look odd, a pure lavender blush actually works beautifully when subtly touched to milk-white skin! // So try MUFE's Blush #9 laced through w/this "Summer Rose" sometime -- & then afterwards, for highlighting (in fact, with OR without the MUFE touch), when wearing "Summer Rose" your cheekbones et al will look plum-perfect iced lightly w/ Mac's "Love Rock", since it too shares much in the same colourways w both #9 & this "Rose". Last, for the final subliminal pop, a light touch of Mac's "Gentle" layered softly right in the center of each cheek does the trick every time. (And rest assured: my own "Summer Rose" pans aren't at all the hard rocks that 1 Reviewer, below, found hers: swiping a finger across mine reveals a lusciously substantive dollop of icy violet-pink all over my finger every time, & has from the day they arrived!) Like many flowers, "Summer Rose" doesn't need to be HG Material to justify its existence in your ever more beautiful garden. As always with beauty, there's always room for much more! :-)

When I was looking at the pictures of A Rose Romance on Temptalia I was drawn to the beauty powders because of the beautiful rose pattern....but was undecided on whether or not I'd actually pick one up. After seeing them in person I thought that they were so cool looking that I would just get one. I choose Summer Rose because I wanted a cool light pink blush that wasn't highly pigmented. I'm relatively pale (NW20) and am able to pull this off as a blush without having to worry about applying too much. I have a small face and so if I wear blush I like to make it look natural and soft to avoid clown face. Although this is not marketed as a blush it can be used as one if you have fair skin. Even though I originally purchased this because of its appearance, it was definitely not a waste of money and I will get plenty of use out of it.

When I tested this at the store, I was unimpressed. These beauty powders were so pretty in the pan, but hard as rocks, delivering nothing when you swiped with your finger. I walked away happy that I could pass on another half-assed LE MAC collection. I went back the next day because I decided I needed to try this on my face in order to really know if I wanted it. I used a sponge and applied it to my cheeks and it turned out to be the cutest pop of pink. This is, however, a very strangely textured "beauty powder" in that it's very firm and finely milled, pressed very tightly - I can see it becoming very difficult to use over time as oils may collect on the surface, but for now, it's a lovely, buildable raspberry pink blush. Sometimes it's nice to use a sheerer blush. It's hard to overdo this one. NC35-37/MMM
