This stuff is horrendous. When I was an oily-skinned teenager it clogged my pores, and now that I'm a dry-skinned adult it simply sits on my face making make-up application impossible. It's also surprisingly irritating for a product supposedly designed for sensitive skin.

I have used this product every single day for over 10 years! This does mean my review is a little one sided as I cannot compare it to other like products as I have never had a reason to change.

I use this moisturiser daily in the morning after using Simple Gel Wash. This sets me up for the day and also after a few minutes it is absorbed ready for me to apply my make up. I have always found it to be a good daily base, and also performed well. I have normal skin and this light formula suits me.

I do use a thicker night cream in winter or if my skin does feel dry, as this does not repair my skin.

This moisturizer is great. I have very dry skin, and most moisturizers just dry my skin out even more. This product gives my skin a GREAT moisture balance, it hasn't caused me to break out in acne, and it doesn't have a sticky residue. This product is wonderful, I would recommend it to anyone and I will definitely buy again!

After buying this in a hurry and getting it home and realising the ingredients were not on the packet I looked them up. No harmful chemicals? MY ARSE! Pretty much half of the ingredients are carcinogenic. There's mineral oils. That means petrol. They ae advertising that they don't put any harmful chemicals in their products but they emit the actual ingredients from the package. DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT.

Nice moisturizer. I don't need intense moisture for my normal skin. I wish the cap opened for me to see how much product is left. A lippies off for no SPF. not very expensive and makes ky skin feel replenished. Will repurchase.

Meh, This Product is okay, i get no bad reactions from it,and it's affordable almost cheap if you get it at the right place.

normally it's about 4-5 pounds in the UK but you can find it for sale for about 1.80 at superdrug sometimes.
it really varies depending on where you buy it, which i think it's kind of annoying because i've bought it from boots but then saw it cheaper else where.

the Packaging is what i really don't like about this product, i can never get all of the product out of the bottle, and in the end i have to cut the thick plastic bottle in half with a big knife lol...which is ridiculous, and when i do that i always see a lot of product still left , i then store the cut bottle in a baggy and use what whats left that way.
They really have to get a better bottle to store this product in.

this moisturizer is definitely not moisturizing enough for me, because i have to apply it 3 times in the day just to keep my skin hydrated.. i chose the light version of simple because i didnt want anything to clog my pores...but this is just not good enough to hydrate my dry skin.

i would think this would be great for people with oily skin though.

the packaging is a pain but it is more affordable then most drug store moisturizers, probably why i kept buying it.. but i'm done with buying it now, it's just not hydrating enough.

My hunt for the best drugstore led me to Simple; I liked that it is a natural product, but it's nothing special. Much like Yes to Cucumber's moisturizer, Simple stung my face when I first put it on. Ouch! I have sensitive skin and this caused my skin to turn a little red after applying. I gave it another try a few days later and still experienced some stinging. This is a light formula, unscented, but not for me.

With hormonal changes, my skin suddenly got dry and easily inflamed. I would now call it "sensitive". All of a sudden, products I had used faithfully for over a year made my skin worse. I was so red, blotchy, and lumpy, and peeling, I went to target and bought a bunch of new stuff. One of them was this moisturizer. It doesn't moisturize very much. Just a little. But apparently, it's good enough for me. It's taken care of most of the flakes without making things worse, which is the best I can ask for right now. I had first gone the route of clinique moisture surge intense. While that was more moisturizing, it was not soothing and gave me whiteheads right away. I feel this product is "neutral" enough that it works well for skin that's having a lot of issues to get a little moisturizer.

I haven't started using it but I am a little fearful because i read the ingredients on the moisturizer and it says it has mineral oil. it's not even listed near the end to; it's the fourth ingredient.

So i was wondering if anyone saw/experienced a problem with this

This was the first moisturizer I've ever used that didn't feel like I'd slathered my face in oil. It doesn't do much beyond lightly moisturizing and softening your skin. It does last forever, though.

I've switched to a slightly heavier Olay moisturizer with SPF during the day, but I'll usually put this one on at night. My skin feels lovely in the morning now. I also use it when I'm going to be outside enough to need real sunscreen for my face; Olay + sunscreen is way too heavy, but this is just right.

I guess you could call Simple Light Moisturizer the Goldilocks of moisturizers? Sorry, it's 2am here. For me it's just the right combination of all the factors that go into choosing a moisturizer. It's very much a single purpose moisturizer (it...moisturizes) so it's not gonna work for everyone.

If you have trouble with heavier moisturizers or have sensitive skin like I do, this one's worth a try.

Truly, it's a nice moisturizer...but I don't think it does much besides that.
I guess it's okay, but really I look for softening, brightening, or evening in my facial moisturizers. I don't see any of that here.
That being said, it's excellent if all you want its a hydrated face that stays that way. It's helepes with a few pesky dry patches as well.

Will I buy again? No, but I will definitly use the rest of this up.

I was curious with this product because of what they said on advertisements and i did read up on this product, i have acne, it started when i started a new brand of pills, anyways started breaking out and now that my skin is kinda starting to get better im scared to use just anything on my face. I started doing a little research, i have oily skin, according to one of the article i read say the best moisturiser for my tyoe of skin is lotion instead of cream. i use to use garnier renew, it was good but it was getting pricy for me. so i tried this product and ive been using it for a week now its really good it doesnt make my face oily and as soon as u put it on your face you can tell the deffirence its very light. i will continue to use this product and i will inform you guys if any changes i would see

I put this on for about thirty minutes before it made my cheeks turn red and blotchy. I have sensitive skin so I haven't really been able to find a moisturizer that hasn't irritated my skin yet. Did make my skin feel nice and smooth though :D I'm not too fond of the the preservatives used in this product either.

'Nothing special' is the only way i can describe this product. i know its free of harsh chemicals and colours and whatever else but i found it did nothing, my skin was slightly dry before purchasing and after using for a month or so it was still slightly dry, no better but no worse. it didnt cause me any harm but it did about as much good as rubbing abit of water on your face. i wouldnt buy it again.

My all-time favourite moistuiser! I have tried them ranging from £1- £35 and my little gem has always been Simple. I use this in conjunction with the rich moistuiser and the night cream on a daily basis and get comments all the time on the look of my skin. It's cheap, it's wonderful and doesn't leave my skin oily!

I really really wanted to like this, because it's hard to find a good fragrance free moisturizer without a lot of harsh ingredients. But I had a bad reaction to this, it felt like it was stinging or burning my skin, and my face turned bright red after use. I am also pretty sure that it caused some white bumps (not acne, just bumps) to appear on my face after use. I am so disappointed that this didn't work out for me.

On the good side, it's fragrance free and was nice and thick without being gross. Maybe this works better for others, but not for me.

I used this product for ages, after recovering from my teenage skin, this seemed to give the perfect level of moisture, since I needed to give my skin some oil, but didn't want to overload it and break out.
It worked well, it didn't irritate my skin, which is good because my skin is fairly sensitive, and it didn't make me break out.
I started to notice a problem with it when I took it with me on holiday. The warm weather must have heated it up because it started to smell really funny (like playdough) and absorb into my skin as well (it had only been open for 3 or 4 months so it hadn't gone off). Also, if I had quite a bit of oil on my skin (my skins usually more on the dry side so I never noticed this before going away) it wouldn't go into my skin as well.
I then bought another bottle when I got back to England and the same thing happened again, and this was from being left on a windowsill and being warmed up by the sun - when I say warmed up I mean only a tiny bit, that window gets max 20 mins of sun a day when the sun is setting. Anyway this annoyed me and I haven't bought it since.
Another thing that I didn't like about it was that I could feel it on my skin even after it had absorbed fully. It just left a weird texture.
The main reason why I stopped using it though is that my skin seems to have become much dryer in the last year, and this just wasn't cutting it any more, I needed something heavier.
However, despite this review seeming kinda negative, I do recommend it if you have sensitive skin that's not very dry. I think it's best suited to teenagers aged about 16, after getting over the oily stage that most of us go through it can be good to have something like this as an inbetweeny stage while your skin works out what the heck it's doing.
Oh, and another good point is that it's good value for money, you get a lot in a bottle so it lasts for ages - or at least until it warms up.

I bought this because it claimed to be free of harsh irritants and was good for sensitive skin. I don't have sensitive skin at all, and have never had an allergic reaction or irritation from a face product before. This is the only lotion that has ever given me problems, which is sad and ironic for a brand that pushes "no perfumes, no dyes, no harsh irritants".
.
When first applying the lotion, its texture is smooth and silky. However, I felt a mild burning/warming sensation on my cheeks that lasted for a few seconds after rubbing the lotion in, but nothing else happened. No rash, no itching. It was just an annoying feeling that went away. I didn't change my skincare products otherwise.
.
The 1st week I used this lotion, I did break out with small, cystic acne on my jaw and chin, but I didn't think much of it and it cleared up on its own. By the 2nd week, my skin was cleared up, smooth, and radiant.
.
The packaging could use a pump. This is a pretty cheap lotion but unfortunately I don't feel good about using it because of how it makes my face burn when I first put it on. I was disappointed that a product made for sensitive skin could irritate my dry-combination face. I won't buy this again but I recommend trying it out because it really does soften the skin. Just read the ingredients and watch out even if you don't have sensitive skin.

This was okay, as far as cheap moisturisers go. My skin is very dry and sometimes can be sensitive, especially around the eye area after make up removal so I like to get a moisturiser that won't aggravate my skin as well as help to calm the eye area down. I liked the texture and the feel of it on my skin, but it took quite a while to absorb and made the ara round my eyes sting. I also didn't find it overly moisturising, I know its called a light moisturiser but I still like my moisturisers to feel as though they are actually doing something to my skin. Wouldn't buy again.

I also wanted zo bad to love this product... but unfortunately i didn't. i went to the dermatologist for acne and she told me to buy a benzyl peroxide wash and use moisturizer, so i bought the wash and simple light moisturizer, because i thought it would be allnatural and gentle. however after i started using both products, my skin peeled everyday for about a week. it was probably dumb for me to keep doing the same routine so long, but i get paranoid about not washing my face.

anyway, basically my face was itchy and peeling, so i switched to my mom's pond's moisturizer, but stayed with the wash (since it seemed like the irritation started as soon as i put the moisturizer on)
.
Even now, after my skin cleared up and calmed down, i was looking for lotion and couldn't find any so i used the simple lotion again. i always do the little thing where you put dots of the product on your face and massage in. Anyway, the one i put on my lip started burning, so i quickly rubbed all of it in. It got rid of the dryness though, but still burns.
