This is a very good eyeliner! The only reason i gave it 3 lips is because I am not good with liquid but this makes it simple! I usually use my MAC fluidline then fill in the space between the point where i stopped and my tear duct. This is a very good liquid liner!

Worst liquid eyeliner pen I've used to date. This cost me fair bit and I definitely did not get my money's worth. The pen dried out after 3 uses, even though I stored it upside down. The product itself is actually not bad, I just wish I could get it to come out!

I agree girls! I suck at eyeliner and this is awesome. It reminds me of the lorac version but better bc its felt and applies evenly and its cheaper. I will def buy again.

EDIT: TOTALLY DRIED OUT... WASTE OF MONEY.
If you are looking at the above picture thinking the tip looks so tiny, i figured out that if you grab the tip with tweezers and pull it out a tiny but, you can make it a bit longer, which i did.. LOVE IT!
Anyways,
I really like this liner... never dries out, the tip always disperses product evenly, and you dont get that line down the center where the liner applies on the outer parts but the center there is no liquid. Very black, very pigmented.
As I said above, I thought the tip was quite small,... and then i pulled on it a tiny bit and its now to my liking :) I would repurchase over and over

Was nervous to buy this product because of reading reviews on it but I honestly will not go without this ever!
Before Penultimate Liner I struggled with pencil and liquid liners and never thought I'd be able to wear eyeline well. MAC's Penultimate Liner goes on so easily, you can create lines as thin or bulk them out as much as you want, it's great for doing winged eyes and you just literally draw the line. Not for use on the waterline but thats fine for me because I only line my lid anyway. Have heard people say they find it smudges and comes off through the day? I use Urban Decay Primer Potion on my eyes and my eyeliner stays put and definately does not smudge. I've also heard its not black enough for some people? I find it very black!
Love it, recommend it to anybody - especially beginners but I see this as my forever eyeliner.

Not sure what everyone else's problems are with this, but I LOOOVE this liner. I had to move to using liquid liners instead of pencil since I'm allergic to Vitamin E which is in 99.9% of pencil liners, but not in most liquids. I tried this one because I like the convenience of pen liners, and i LOVE it. The tip is soft and pliable and gives me super straight lines without me having to put in any effort. Is definitely perfect for wing tips. It stays put all day but if you do make a mistake while applying, it's pretty easy to remove before it dries, even though it does dry quickly. It stays nice and wet through applying on both eyes, which I've had problems with others drying out before I even get to my 2nd eye. I have not had any problems with it running or smudging at ALL. The only minor issue I have with it is that it tends to pick up some of my eyeshadow throughout the day so I do touch it up a couple times to keep it really black. LOVE.

I have been wearing this eyeliner for a month now and have come to the conclusion that is not worth the price. It fades and runs. I look like a raccoon. If you have oily skin, this eyeliner is not for you.

Surprised at the mixed ratings. I love pen-type eyeliners, it's so easy to create an extremely thin line or winged line. I store this upside-down so it won't dry out too fast. It's very black too. I don't know if I would buy again because of the price. ELF has the same exact thing for $1 and in different colors too, but they tend to dry out within 2-3 months of daily use, but for a dollar, hell that's alot better than buying penultimate for $18? amd that drying out in 2-3 months.

This eyeliner is very prone to running. I can't imagine being in a rainstorm with this at all, and not expect this running down my face.
That being said, I suppose if you are trying wings, and you make a mistake, this is veeery easy to remove.
That isn't the point of my makeup though!
Onto the actual review, this liner has a very hard tip. I do not have a problem with this running dry. One of my friends uses this consistently for 3 months each time, (she uses a lot of eyeliner) and recommended this. I found the tip very hard, but somehow found it able to apply a very thin lovely line just as my lashline.
It is very easy to use this, and quick. I like it better than carrying a brush and gel liner on the go. However, I don't recommend this for bottom lashline at all. Personally, I think it gives a hard look. Second of all, it is not recommended to have liquid products near the waterline due to bacteria breeding and whatnot.
I'm not sure if I would rebuy, but I do enjoy the tube I have now.

I love pen liquid eyeliners because they're the easiest to create winged eye looks, but penultimate just doesn't cut it. It ran out after a few months for me. It could never last a whole day without transferring like crazy to my lower lashline. Pigmentation is nice at least, but the cons heavily outweigh its few pros.

I don't know why more people don't love this eyeliner...it's my HG black liner! I wish they made more colors of Penultimate! I bought mine in July last year and its still as black as ever. What I love the most is the ease of application...I can draw a very precise, smooth, natural-looking thin line within seconds. This liner is also good if you want to wing-out the ends. I have oily lids and it lasts on me at least 8 hours. Will definitely repurchase and MAC please make more colors of this!!! :)

this is my first time trying a mac liquid liner and was so disappointed. Of the wonderwoman rapid black it had no staying power and smudged easily. Went on strong but faded and after approximatelly 3 hours I couldn't tell I had any liner on....

When i bought this product the girl at the store suggested storing this product upside down so the tip wont dry out and will remain moist with the product. I bought it and used it the first time and i loved it!! when i went to use it the second time there was nothing left, i paid $20 for a one time use, WTF!!!!
i'll just stick to gel eyeliner and my brush instead, its not that great just easier to use, same can be accomplished with gel and liquid liner.

This was my first eyeliner pen, I liked this product when I first bought it, it was dark and easy to apply..but It faded throughout the day and didn't last very long. It only lasted me a few months too and dried out really fast (I placed this on the side, the way it should be). Won't repurchase, not worth the money.

I didn't like this eyeliner.. it faded during the day and didn't really show up. The line was either really thin or thick and the tip hurt a lot when I used it on my waterline. It was also hard to remove. I got the Milani Eye Tech liner at CVS and loved it, so I didn't see the point of using this anymore and brought it back.

I can't believe these reviews. My liner lasted for almost a year with daily use (stored on its side in a fair temp). I absolutly love how easy the application is. Its very precise to allow for very intricate designs where pencil and liquid will not. Its not messy and doesn't smudge.
The only down side is, is trying to get to a MAC store to get a new one.

This liner cost too much money not to last all day. It starts off as a dark black then fades throughout the day. It also smudges.

I really quite like this product! I was surprised to read all the negative comments about it. I have had mine for about five months and it hasn't dried out yet (but I do keep it lying flat). I find that I have really good control with it and can easily achieve a neat, thin line. I would definitely buy it again and would love it if it was available in a deep brown.
