It's nice and dewy and a good price, but I had the unfortunate experience of the product separating in the tube. Even when I shake it up before I squeeze, watery liquid always spurts out. Plus, the tube is so tiny. However, I don't use highlighters all too often and just have one for that time once in a blue moon where I want to either experiment with shimmer or add it to my foundation for a glow. Therefore, I would repurchase. I'm not going to invest too much money into something I barely use so this is perfect for me.

I brought this because I had heard some great things about it. I didn't like it. I find ELF products to be a hit or a miss for me and this unfortunately was a miss. I used the tiniest amount on my cheekbones and it still felt quite greasy on my skin. My skin is oily so it made it even more greasy and shiny looking than usual.

When worn , this has the look of high -end high-lighters / illuminators. I bought two shades 'spot-light' and 'lilac petal'. Both are pretty similar. You can achieve a dewy -look or just highlight your cheekbones and inner eye corner. They are thick so you must blend pretty well . You can tap them on or rub them on ...I have a sample version of NARS Orgasm facial illuminator , although it's a deeper shade than the two E.L.F. products...I def think the E.L.F. shimmering facial whip is much better ...and you can actually see it on your skin. It really blends well with foundation , also..for a more subtle look. I love it.

Ok so most people have been complaining about how the product separates in the tube and starts getting watery. Well i think i have found a solution (at least for me). What i do is just place the tube with the tip facing downwards. After i did this, i havent had any problems w/ water squirting out the tube when i use it. The shimmering facial whip is really really similar to Benefits High Beam except that this one may have a teensy more sparkle/shimmer than the HIgh Beam. it also has a nice orange smell to it. make sure you only use a little bit of the shimmer and also make sure you blend it well! I would repurchase because it is SO cheap

This is such a great highlighter for only a dollar. Once applied, it gives you a really nice and natural glow and sheen instead of chunks of noticeable glitter. I apply a tiny dot on my finger, evenly distribute it on my other finger and tap it on both of my cheekbones. This dries fast so make sure you pat quickly instead of rubbing it because its sort of sticky and you'll be pulling on your skin. I will go out and by multiples of these because it sooo afordable and it works great as a highlighter.

I don't know how this works on my face, because the little tube broke at the seam and leaked all over my makeup bag within an hour of purchasing it. Boo on the packaging! But when I swatched it, it blended out really nicely, and did not seem to be to cool toned or frosty, which I was worried about. I am going to buy it again, and handle it like I would a squeeze tube of nitroglycerin.

This is the first shimmering facial whip (not the best product name, imo) I've tried, and I really like it. I use it just as a brow highlighter and in the inner corner of the eye to brighten. I thought it might be a little too frosty for my NC30, but it's not. It may not be too flattering as a highlighter on the cheekbones, but since I have oily skin I don't really plan on using it there anyway. I also like the small tube it comes in, and as other have said, a little goes a long way. another great product from ELF

A little goes a long way with this product. If you overuse you may look too frosty! With that said I love using this product for highlighting my cheekbones and under my brow bone. At $1 this is quite the steal!

I really like these. I've bought them on a few occassions and I'm always happy with them. It has good staying power and gives me a gorgeous glow on the top of my cheekbones.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because for whatever reason when I go to squeeze out product, water comes out at first. It's a water based product so I'm assuming that's why but it's irritating at times. Especially when you aren't thinking about it and water shoots everywhere. lol

This stuff is awesome! I bought this on a whim at Target when I was looking to pick up a few All Over sticks, and because they didn't have the color I wanted, I grabbed this instead. I thought to myself that for $1, it really would not matter if it worked or not. For reference, I have NC 45 skin- so at first it appeared way too frosty to work for me. Not so......today I added a pin-drop to my FitMe foundation and what it has done is wonderful. It gives my face a luminous look that I have not ever had before. It seems almost as if my face has very low, soft backlighting. Needless to say, I AM IN LOVE. Plus the packaging is just right- it's a very tidy little tube with a screw on cap that does not leak any product. Add to that the fact that it's only $1.......how can you go wrong? I noticed that other people have commented on the smell- I have not but that is probably because I mix it in with my foundation. Granted, you don't really get a lot of product, but since you use so little of it and the fact that it only costs $1, I don't see how anyone in their right mind can complain. Lilac Petal, where have you been all my life????
One word of caution- I strongly encourage anywho who tries this to use it sparingly. It is VERY frosty and I can imagine that too much product would make one look ghastly. Better to build it up than try to figure out how to take it off, or get the wrong impression and miss out on a great product.

I love this product. It compares with all the high end illuminating creams I have tried. I didn't give it a five because it is impossible to find where I live.

I LOVE this product! My go to highlighter at the moment. I used Benefit High Beam, and I really liked it, except it was SO expensive for the amount of product you get. I also wasn't a fan of the brush applicator. Lilac Petal is the exact same color as High Beam, but with a nicer texture and better packaging. It's only $1, and the tube lasts forever! You only need a tiny bit to highlight. I usually squeeze a little dot on my fingertip and dab it on my cheekbones, down my nose, and whatever I have left on my cupid's bow. It gives a beautiful glowy finish.
I would definitely recommend it!

this is a gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! dupe for the benefit high beam, i absolutely love it! looks so pretty! and for £1.50 u cant really go wrong, the tube is alot smaller than expected but a little goes a very long way! one thing i do have to moan about is the smell, stated on the website it does say scent: sugar orange, if only i knew it was going to smell like orange nurofen!-one smell that really knocks me sick!, but the scent isnt too strong and bearable to be able to put on my face!

i think this is the best highlighter! i compare it to mac cream color base in pearl but a lot less oily. i can't use pearl cream color base on my lids but i can use this one without creasing! i love the packaging and it gives me the best lit from within look.. also don't be fooled by the name.. it is in no way purple or lilac!

The product comes in a tiny tube but don't let that fool you. This will last you quite awhile because you only need a tiny drop to highlight your entire face. I love the pretty glow I get and how natural the finished look is- not too shimmery. At $1 a tube I'm not complaining and it fits perfectly into my makeup bag. .

I wasn't expecting much but was intrigued for a $1. I first mixed a very tiny dot of it w/ ELF angle clear gloss and it was beautiful - gave me that nudish look that I can't pull off usually on my pigmented lips (like when I tried MAC c-thru). Mixed this with MAC pop mode in attempt to make it look more like Little VI and it does! On my skin, 1 small dot gave me glowy cheekbones - the lit from w/i look. Did not streak whatsoever. Start w/ less - as w/ anything you can always add more. I also shook the tube prior to dispensing the product so I did not have any issues of separation. I have to admit that I am hesitant at trying ds products but I have to admit - this is a great find and I will recommend.

I Love these little gems! I understand some of the low ratings but im telling u now if ur disappointed its one of two things 1. You are using to much or 2 you got a bad one that wasnt mixed properly at the factory. I have experience both problems and have feel in love with these whips that i have all colors and backups for all.
~~~~~~~~~~PRICE & AVAILABILITY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Elf Shimmering Facial Whips are available of course on the eyeslipsface website as well as varying shades at various Target, KMart, Sears Grand stores. There are 8 different shades to pick from. The price, is unreal! These little tubes only cost $1!! yes one of the items that perform way past their price! So def affordable! dirt cheap!
~~~~~~~~ SHADE/FORMULA/PERFORMANCE ~~~~~~~
The Elf Shimmering Facial Whips are a cream liquid highlighting product. They do have almost of a whipped feel to them. The consistency can differ between each tube/shade but if you do get a bad one- it will be separated. But these should feel like a thicker cream whip. These all have an iridescent sheen to them. These make perfect liquid/cream highlighters. These can be applied on all areas of your face, lips &eyes. I think these are too drying on the lips & too frosty for my liking but could def work. These also can be used as a primer/base for eyeshadows.
Lilac Petal is one of my favorite colors. Its a soft pastel silver lilac but more pinky pastel color but it will blend out to an iridescent sheen. Its beautiful on all skin tones/shades. I love this one for highlighting my face. Not an unnatural shade like a few. These are easy to apply. Less is more in this case. Only need less than a kernel size amount to use on the whole face since I typically use these on my cheekbones, cupids bow, brow bone & bridge of nose. Lilac Petal is creamy & easy to blend. I have normal to dry skin & i havent had any problems with these clinging to dry spots or being hard to apply. They work great with your fingers or brushes. I think my fingers help to blend in with the skin. I suggests using these after liquid/cream products & def BEFORE powder products otherwise they will cake up. & setting these with a dusting of powder will ensure this will stay put for hours. I notice these are still illuminating after 7 hrs. Great performers & beautiful color!! I love these. Also as a cream base, i suggests using the THINNEST layer possible over eye primer. And make sure to blend out for an even layer. These give somewhat of a stickier base for the powder shadows to cling to. Its great for loose or mineral eyeshadows. Lilac Petal, Citrus, Spotlight remind me of other highlighters that are 20x the cost like Benefit High Beam, Smashbox Luminizing Lotion. These work just as great. Ive swatched High Beam in the store & the Whips are a tad more thicker which i prefer.
~~~~~~~~~~~ PACKAGING ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elf Shimmering Facial Whips come in a clear see through plastic squeeze tube. The tube is small, fits in the palm of my hand. These contain 0.34 oz of product. Which may not seem like alot but they are very concentrated & only a tiny bit is needed so these tubes will last forever. Ive had a few of these for over a year & still barely through it. They havent changed or dried up any. There is Elf logo & product name located on front in silver writing & a very tiny sticker with shade name located on the twist on tip. The squeezable point/spout allows you to squeeze out as much as needed easily. The only problem is that the tip can break off, ive had that happen to me (i ended up transferring it to a jar which worked as well.) I like how small & compact these are. Def can be thrown into any bag. I brought this on my vacation recently & it came in handy!!!
Overall, these are an amazing $1 gem! I have reached for this over & over in my daily makeup routine. I love that something that cost $1 (which not much does anymore) can be so great! Its a gorgeous highlighter. a great alternative to Benefit HighBeam for those like myself that cannot afford makeup at that cost! Its gorgeous & beautiful. & highlighting really made my makeup game change. It makes my skin look glowy in a good way! i always get compliments that i look good!
I love the shimmery / shiny effect this had on my pale skin, it makes me look very happy and glow-y. I like it. The packaging is easy to use and the price was good. It's really a good product. I took my pick at E.L.F products really carefully in target. I'm glad this isn't a bust, despite it only cost $1.
I got this sort of on a whim while hauling a bunch of other ELF stuff. I had sort of been wanting Benefit Moon Beam or High Beam but at $24, I was willing to spend a buck to try this stuff out first. I'm glad I did! The name is sort of misleading -- once applied, this stuff isn't purple at all. It doesn't even really look purple in the tube, more like grey -- I think that a couple of the pictures for this product may be a different shade. Anyway, this stuff is wonderful! It's reeeeally shimmery, but a little goes a very long way. My most common use for it is along my cheekbone -before- I put foundation on (if I put it on after it would be much too shimmery). It doesn't look shimmery at all and gives me a glow. I have also used it in the inner corner of my eye, as a brow highlighter, and on my cupid's bow to accentuate my lips. Yesterday I lined my eyelid with a dark brown matte e/s and applied a tiny bit of this under my bottom lash line and I have to say it looked nice! I think there are as many uses for this as you can dream up. For 1 dollar, you really can't go wrong just trying this product out. I love it!
