I have very oily skin. That said, this product works great in the summer by removing all the excess oil, however, it occasionally dries my skin out in the winter/fall seasons. I have noticed that my acne has decreased rather significantly, but I have to apply moisturizer after using it or else my skin gets as dry as the Sahara. I do not recommend this to anyone with normal to very dry skin at all. I would repurchase as I am satisfied with the results.

I recently have had a major allergic reaction to this. My face has been red bumpy, blotchy and itchy for the past 5 days after only using it twice.
I purchased this in a Wal-mart pack of 3 products: this cleanser, the scrub, and the body wash all for $14. I thought it was a steal and since I loved the smell ( my boyfriend uses the cream wash) I decided to buy it. Big mistake.
After 5 days of just washing with cold water and using Pond's dry skin cream I still have a tomato face. I won't be purchasing this product ( or anything with salicylic acid in it) again. Perhaps if your skin is not sensitive or dry then this might work for you. But do be careful and test some on your inner arm or lower neck before you use it all over your face.

After two days of using this I woke up with a bright red, very itchy rash all over my face and neck. This product was the only thing I had added to my skincare routine, so I know it is the culprit of the rash. Huge waste of money.

So I don't know for sure how this product works but, I just tried it today, and I gotta say, I don't really like it. A lot of reviews comment on the nice smell but in my opinion, I really dislike the smell. Secondly, the pump was not functioning properly and I had to fix it myself. When I first put it on, my face was burning so I washed it off quickly. It is very drying and irritating to my skin. After I dried off my face was red and blotchy in the acne areas which I didn't like at all. I don't know if it's because I got this cheap at a warehouse sale, but based on the majority of the reviews here, this isn't really the go-to facial cleansing product.

This smells great. But it's just not for me. My skin is too dry. This would be great for someone with oily skin. Plus it leaks everywhere. I usually don't use face wash, just water with a moisturizer is enough for me.
Pros: great smell, fights acne.
Cons: leaky, drying,
Reccomended for: oily skin

I got this because it looked and smelled amazin'! It was $8.50 but I didn't mind. I had also seen bad reviews on it but I wanted it anyways.
I hate it.
I'm not a fan of Neutrogena in the first place but this really did it for me.
I bought it two days ago,
my skin is peeling like crazy and it gave me a rash everywhere!
my face is so itchy! :(
and feels like a lizard! :(
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
Gets rid of oil.
Dryed out my skin extremely
Mine leaks everywhere if I bring it in a overnight bag.
I WILL NOT be repurchasing. It saddens me that they would even allow this on the market.

I have oily skin and a friend recommended this product. This product was so drying on my skin and caused my skin to be overly dry and flake. I had to return it. My friend has had good results with it but this product isn't for my skin. Only plus side is it smells good.

These products smell so good but after one use it broke my skin out in a rash and i do not have sensitive skin if you have veryyyyy oily skin this might be ok for you.

i can see why alot of people have problems with this product as i can see if u have dry skin it would be a problem but i have quite oily skin and i am always much happier with a product that can help me reduce some of that oil and this definatley does that... i use it along with the scrub and the 2 combined have definatley left my skin feeling alot firmer fresher and my pores have definatley been reduced... i love the smell and i can definatley see myself bying this product again

Really shocked at how many negative reviews this product has had... ive been using it for over 2 years now and have had no problems with it!
When I hit my early teen years I had bad breakouts and my skin felt very oily. I struggled to find a face cleanser/scrub that was not too strong and irritated my skin but still got rid of spots and reduced breakouts.
After purchasing this product I found the smell at first quite overpowering and didnt smell very natural but after a few goes I ended up liking it.
This product balances out my oil levels in my skin but doesnt dry it and and is amazing at keeping spots and breakouts at bay!
I would suggest using this product with a wet ramer sponge as it creates a nice lather and makes the product go along way!
and I suggest if you find this product over drying but still suffer from spots and outbreaks invest in a everyday moisturiser which is oil free.

Pretty drying but works great for my acne.. I still breakout but a lot less than I used to. I like the pump packaging but it isn't great for travel. I don't mind the smell but it is very strong and chemically. Really cleans my skin and gets rid of the oil but a good moisturizer is needed.

My sister and i both use this product, i have dry skin and she has combination/acne prone skin. It dries my skin out a lot, as i have dry skin but it does wonders to keep my acne away. I have not had a bad breakout since using this product. My sister and i keep repurchasing this product as it is great for acne, but i am currently looking out for something more gentle for my dry/sensitive skin. I dislike the smell and on occasion when it has gotten in my mouth, i have come to hate the taste too.

This face wash has made me have a severe reaction. I bought it thinking it looked good and smelt good. I used it once in the morning for about a week and then WHAM! I woke up on a saturday morning with a face like a boxer. My whole face was completely swollen and red raw. My eyes were nearly shut they were so swollen. I itched and my skin is as dry as anything, like i've stuck my face in a bowl of flour. Its been 4 days and still my face is peeling. Its rough and the skin won't stop falling off! I will NEVER use this product again.

Words cannot even begin to describe how much I hate this product.
My skin is oily/combo, and every single face wash has never dried out my skin, until this. In fact, I didn't even think it was possible for my skin to be dry to the point it would start peeling; until I used this product. I was excited to buy this after reading all the positive reviews for it, and the 'Allure' award it received. After the FIRST time I used this, I had to put like 6 layers of moisturiser on, in order for my skin to stop stinging, burning and peeling. It made my acne worse, and I peeled so much on my forehead, and on my nose.
I just figured it was the unfamiliar weather (since I bought it on vacation).
After I got back home, I continued to use it, until one day I just couldn't take it anymore. My skin was soo irritated, and it was peeling so much.
I bought another facewash the next day (don't exactly remember what it was Lol) And my skin returned to normal after using it once.
Hate this cleanser. :|

Have only used this product 3 times (morning, evening and evening again) and have ended up with skin that is a bit red and feels like I've been sunburnt. It feels really tight and bumpy like I've had a reaction - probably to the sal acid since its a chemical which strips oils and kills bacteria. HOWEVER, my pimples seem to have subsided and they are all very much less red (maybe just becos the rest of my face is pinkish, ha!). After reading others comments, I think this will have be a product I only use one or maybe twice a week just to zap my oily skin. My skin has become more oily over the last few month due to coming off the oral contraceptive pill and skin now seems very temperamental and sensitive... but oily all the time. I've used the orange Neutrogena product before without problems (no sal acid I think) so might have to go back to that. Do love the scent of pink grapefruit though.

For me it didn't work as well. But this is pretty cheap. So maybe i would buy it again

Hmm...i bought this on a whim...like it initially...then i started to get breakouts...those painful big bumps under the skin. That really surprised me because i stopped getting acne years ago. I was heartbroken because i thought it was my clarisonic at fault. And i had just spent a bomb on it. Then, i randomly read through reviews and realised that alot of people complained that this broke them out...even though they had oily acne-prone skin and its supposedly formulated to clear that up.
I had my suspicions and stopped using it for a week...and the bumps shrunk and started to disappear. Needless to say, i thrashed it and rejoiced that it wasn't my clarisonic! lol.
It has a very nice smell though but thats probably the only good thing about it

this is a good light everyday cleanser
it has acne medication so in the winter it can dry out your skin a bit but with some good moisturizer youll be ok
love the scent it not too harsh and for my sensitive skin its works pretty good
does not take off all my makeup and does help keep my skin clear it does create a good lather as well
will buy again

This is ok.
I had pretty bad acne on my forehead and a little around the rest of my face.
I made my skin feel less oily but not amazing.
It cleared up my face a little bit but I don't like it that much.
Don't know if I would buy again.
You have to scrub it in really well and use it twice a day or It won't doa very good job.

If you have dry skin, BEWARE. It made the dry parts of my face extremely flakey and irritated. It did dry out all my pimples though, but the dryness it did to my skin was not worth it. If you have oily skin this might be worth a shot. Also, this washed off my makeup extremely well. It comes with a pump so I loveee the packaging.
