A dirt-cheap way to get instant, soothing, silkening moisture that feels refreshing and light! I never gave Nivea Soft a second glance, because the original Nivea Creme is waaaaay too heavy, greasy, pore-clogging, and heavily perfumed for my skin. At some point, however, it seemed like everywhere I turned I'd see glowing reviews about Nivea Soft. Also, I'd read in an early issue of The Skin Type Solution, Dr. Baumann's recommendation of it, for some dry skin types. I picked up Nivea Soft at CVS because I was curious about how it could be so different from the iconic blue-jar Nivea. I tested it all over, starting with my feet, and when I saw what this stuff does for feet - and hands, body, elbows, knees, neck - I tried it on my face. Even though I'm not a dry skin type, occasionally I get over-exuberant with my AHAs, BHAs, retinols, scrubs...whatever...and, in combination with indoor heating, I dry out my skin. I do this at least once a year. This year when I was battling my self-induced flakes around my mouth and nose, I found I didn't have any facial moisturizer that lacked "actives"; something I could slap on that wouldn't try to change my skin, but would soothe the dryness. So I gave Nivea Soft a try. It's FANTASTIC as an occasional "night cream"! Nivea Soft is much too heavy for me to wear in the daytime, but when applied at night, everywhere I have dryness, including my face, I wake up with soft, plumped, soothed skin. I find Nivea Soft absorbs much quicker on my hands and body than it does on my face, so this is a great handcream to use for softening throughout the day. Nivea Soft feels cool and creamy upon application. It is lightly fragranced, but it smells soft, and kind of rosy. The scent is similar to the "original" Nivea (which I actually like in a "comfort-scent" way), but much, much lighter, and not as concentrated. I know certain cosmetics "analysts" like Paula Begoun would tear their hair out when reading Nivea Soft's ingredients, but their valuable advice tends to be most beneficial for people who have very sensitive skin. I have very "resistant" skin that actually benefits more from some of the "harsher" products. BUT, if you do have ulta-sensitive skin, note that Nivea Soft contains a high percentage of Alcohol Denat. I have no idea how alcohol could dry out your skin when it's in a cream that's so highly emollient (and it does anything but dry out my skin), and I assume it's included so this cream doesn't get greasy and pore-clogging, but if you avoid Alcohol Denat (SD-Alcohol, ethanol, isopropyl alcohol) in products, you don't want to bother with Nivea Soft (or Creme de La Mer, or many La Roche-Posay products). If you have Resistant skin, Nivea Soft may be a good cream for you to try for those times you need just a good dose of soothing hydration.

I have been using this for awhile and I really like it. I apply it on my face at night. I use a fair bit because I don't really care if my skin is slightly oily while I'm sleeping. I use a little bit as a base for make up too and it makes my skin luminous.

I used to like this moisturizer.. the old version! The new one seems like they put a LOT of perfum in itt . Also, its more greasy and heavy . use it at night time on my face, it doesnt break me out, moisturize well, but I wont repurchase it. I dont use it on my body because it doesnt give my enough moisture. I prefer using a body moisturizer.

I bought Nivea Soft for face/body/hands with jojoba oil and vit E.What a great product this is!And one of the basics really.
i ve got to say that i m a body moisturiser addict.i have way to many but this one really surprised me.I don t use it for my face as i ve got oily face and it s a bit heavy for me but in need i do use it.In general makes my skin soft, feelling healty and muisturized. The smell it s a bit stron i would much prefered it without a smell at all,but the thing with the smell is that it
doesn t alter as time goes by.Again it s a great product that you can take with you everywhere and make a really good use of it.

This one made my skin red and burning. Also it last only for 4-5 hours and then I feel my skin dry again...

I purchased this to use on my face at night on my dry flakey winter skin. Something about the "refreshingly soft" tagline was appealing to me. Unfortunately, there was nothing refreshing about this. It was probably the worst moisturizer I've ever used. It didn't seem to absorb into my skin and kind of just sat there feeling sticky and uncomfortable. I didn't even like using it as a body moisturizer. I tried for a few weeks but couldn't bear to finish it. This one went to my boyfriend to use on his chapped hands.

Meh. Nothing special. German, mexican, polish, whatever. To me they're all the same. This lotion is pretty standard, its on the lighter side. Perhaps I'll re-review it in the summer. Its just not moisturizing enough for me. I wouldn't repurchase. Not because it is a bad product, but because I buy too much lotion in general & this one doesn't stand out.

This one is much better than their Original one because it is easier to apply and leaves a non-greasy skin. But I love the original one's classic tin better, it is made of a beautiful blue shade and looks very romantic.

Smells lovely but the scent dissappears as soon as I apply it.

I'm a big fan of their Extra Enriched and Original Nivea Cremes however I do not like this one.

I got a little 99 cent jar intending to use on my face and body during the spring months. After two trial applications on my face and neck I have cystic breakouts sadly :(

I think it's the silicone and the alchol combined in the formulation. The fragrance is not so great either. I prefer the old standards to this.

You would think a light, watery creme like this would not be clogging! Strangely, I can slather the Original Nivea all over my face and not get one breakout.

Thank goodness for the small travel/trial size. I might use it on my feet in the coming weeks.

Effective, moisturizing, good quality, and great texture. I love this stuff! The texture makes me want to eat it!... not really, but it is very creamy. It sinks in pretty fast and you can use it all over your body! I'm totally recommending this to all my friends ^^
