Im search of my HG foundation I decided to head to the clinique counter after hearing such rave reviews about their foundations.
The MA suggested Perfectly Real Shade #34, Im hispanic with tanned/olive skin. Ive had such bad experiences with foundation turning orange or looking scary when out in natural light so I decided just to try out for the day. It seems this foundation is best for oily skin types.
My skin is oily/combination with ocassional dry patches. So far im happy. Its a nice matte finish, it has very small glitter but its not visible, it doesnt feel heavy or mask-like. The color has changed only slightly so I think I will go a shade ligther. Zero oiliness so far, but keep in mind she also set this foundation with loose powder so that might have something to do with it. My skin looks very pretty, sorta, soft & out of focus or something, it looks very nice.
I only gave it 4 lippies because Revlon Colorstay is still the best in my book and is half the price.
Unfortunately Revlon always sells out my shade, so when I cant get that I would definetly purchase this.

I really liked this foundation at first. Now I really hate it. Doesn't hide any flaws and leaves me oily in less than an hour. If I still had my reciept I'd return it. Don't waste your money on this.

I received a sample of this in Shade 04 as part of Clinique's last GWP. I am very impressed. It blends easily and doesn't look at all cakey on. Very natural. Feels wonderful on my combo skin. I will definitely buy a full size of this when I use up some other stuff I have.

When I first went to check this out, the lady at the counter suggested not to get it since I have pretty oily skin, although it is oil free. I finally decided I did want to try it anyway. I used it all over my face for the first time today. I really love it! It seems like it will be heavy when you first put it on, but it isn't. It looks great. I get very good coverage from it, and it smooths on wonderfully. It works great with a foundation brush. I love the tube it comes in. It's easy to squeeze it on the brush. This also has a much wider range of shades than a lot of the other Clinique foundations. Excellent job with this one, Clinique!

I received a sample of this, and I quite like it. It blends well, it hasn't broken me out, provides nice light coverage and doesn't slide off my face by lunch time. It not for heavy coverage, but for days when you just need a little help, this will do the trick. I will purchase the full size when I use up my sample.

I've only got a small sample tube of this in shade 04, but it's great stuff. I plan on buying a full-sized one as soon as possible.
I don't need much coverage, and I hate looking/feeling like I'm wearing a ton of stuff on my face. Clinique claims it feels like nothing at all. That's not really true, you can feel it, but it's so light that you can just BARELY feel it.
I like how it looks, it's very natural. Most "natural" foundations still look like foundations. This one is the least conspicuous one I've tried so far, and it hasn't clogged my pores at all. Always a bonus!
It dries to a pretty matte finish, so I can't see the need for any powder afterwards. That's good, since I'd rather not wear both a foundation AND a powder. That's excessive, at least for my skin.
I plan on getting a full-size once my sample runs out (which isn't too soon, since a little of this goes a long way).

Great foundation. It has just enough coverage and still looks very natural. Works very well with my oily skin (Chanel and Kanebo did NOT). Love the packaging!

For some reason I cannot wear Clinique foundation. I am very fair and the makeup always ends up looking orange on me. This foundation did well for a while but then things went down hill.

This is my HG foundation (at least for now). I don't use it all over my face, just select areas, and it covers well without being heavy. I didn't notice any of the shimmer effect that others did, but it does reflect light nicely and stays fairly matte throughout the day. I LOVE the tube - easy to squeeze out just the right amount, and its not messy at all. I am a cool LLL and I wear Shade 10, which is a perfect match. I love this sheer, lightweight foundation and I will buy again.

I ocassionally use Clinique's Superfit foundation but thought I'd try this instead. The only thing I ended up liking about it was the packaging (sanitary tube). This was hard to blend into my skin (not a smooth application) and in an hour or two my skin felt very greasy. As the day went on it didn't look like I had any coverage at all. I returned it.

I had such high hopes for this foundation after having seen many of the positive reviews here on MUA, but for some reason unbeknownst to me, it is completely incompatible with my skin! As far as sensitivities go, I haven't experienced any breakouts from this, but the actual appearance of the product on my face is just as bad as having a blemish. As soon as I apply the foundation over my moisturizer and sunscreen, the product looks kind of cakey and chalky, not at all like the name Perfectly Real would imply! I've even tried application over other moisturizers and other sunscreens, with my fingers and also with a cosmetic sponge, all to no avail. I recall thinking that the sales associate at the Clinique counter needed to adjust the coverage of her chalky/cakey foundation, so perhaps she was wearing Perfectly Real? My skin is dry yet tends towards combination during the summer, so if your skin type is similar, I would advise sampling this foundation before purchasing. Perfectly Real developed into a heavy matte finish on my skin, creasing into my nearly nonexistant facial lines and making my average looking pores appear as deep as the Marianas Trench. Definitely not a look anyone would hope to achieve!

It's funny that the reviews of this foundation are so mixed. I have combo skin that breaks out every so often. Since there was a great GWP being offered, I decided to try this. I LOVE it- it is truly my HG. It hasn't made me breakout and it leaves a great, natural finish over my sunscreen. I, too, was worried about the 'sparkles' - when I first tried this on the back of my hand, they seemed quite noticeable. But when blended on my face, my skin looks great - very healthy and natural. The colour is also one of the best matches I have ever had. I'm an NC35-40 and I use 30(G)-I think the shade names differ between the US and Canada, though. Just remember, it doesn't claim to be mattifying, so if you have very oily skin, this my not be for you.

I absolutly love the packaging. Alot of the cheaper foundations are really drying on my face. But none of Clinique's are. This foundation chases away flaws and illuminates my whole face. I get headaches sometimes and in the morning my skin sometimes looks a bit dull, but this stuff imediatly makes my skin perk right up.

It's funny, the reviews here are either very positive or very negative. I for one am happy with this product. The color match is good for me (04 - a Neutal shade) and the coverage is nice and the finish is light. I do not find it sparkly at all. It has a sheen which can make it look shiny without powder over it, but there is definately no glitter in this. I would agree with someone who said this is a younger look, as opposed to a more traditional matte look, but anyone who is comfortable with this look can pull it off, no matter what age you are. Personally I like it for a dressy, night-out look as opposed to a go-to-work look. It gives me nice diversity in my make-up collection. Also, the packaging is awesome - this is the way to dispense foundation - it's very similar to the packaging of PC's All Bases covered Fdn (I use Sand) which is still my absolute HG for everyday wear!

I really like (like, not love) this product. The packaging is great because you can squeeze out just enough without wasting it. I find that it gives moderate coverage without feeling mask-like. It does have a slight sheen to it, but I would not call it sparkly. This product works well on skin that is in good condition and is not too oily.

OK well I tried this instead of my normal dewy smooth and turns out i returned it.....even though i have combo acne prone skin i found this very drying , a bit sparkly and also too sheer. It reminds me of revlon colorstay lite which i hated..it was shiny, matte and very unflattering IMO. The colors were hard to match as well. This would be ok on a very young perfect skin which has no dryness.

I was not very impressed with this - the coverage was as described, very light and transluscent, but after a couple hours it appeared to wear off and also made my skin look very shiny and greasy. Also, it did not even out any of the redness in my face. I returned it and will not buy again.

I was fairly impressed with this foundation. It provides sheer coverage without being heavy or masky. A little more coverage than Px Traceless, but it's significantly less moisturizing. Overall a great product.

HG found!! I got a sample of this at Nordie's and I've worn it for a week. It's such a great natural-yet-flawless look for the office. It's thick enough to provide very good coverage but somehow it doesn't look chalky or pasty like my other medium coverage foundations. It does have a slight shimmer, but it's not "glittery" at all and just serves to give a bit of highlight and dimension, even in sunlight. I'm a warm PPP and Shade 01 works great for me. I have a pre-order in for a full-size (and GWP) and I can't wait to get it!
