This is my first Favorite mascara! The little pink bottle with a green lid. This is one of my all time favorite old faithful mascaras. I am light olive complextion and full Korean. Which means I have thin, whimpy, short, lashes. I actually have only 5 lashes or at least that's what it appears to me. I love the intense black color the Very Black delivers. It's the riches and best black color I have ever seen on any mascara. It has won countless awards and is still to this day the #1 mascara in America. the reason I don't give it a 5 is because there are others that are better, but not many. As far as drugstore mascaras the only one that has came close was Loreal Carbon Black Voluminous Mascara. Other than that the others that are better would be the Expensive Department mascaras. So for the price it's a triple threat. If you haven't tried this mascara, go try it, everybody else has.

It's not the world's greates mascara by any standards- but for the price it's not too bad. My lashes are fairly thick and dark and this mascara made them seem miles long -almost like I was wearing fake lashes. The formula does tend to clump- so I always use a brush to seperate my lashes. I'm nota regular mascara user and this suits my occasional dress-up need fine

I have used this for a year, but suddenly developed an allergy to it (the last few weeks it has made my eyes water and burn all day long - i tried buying a new package, but it did the same thing). This is unfortunate because it's the only mascara I've found so far that didn't flake. At all. Never. My eyes are a bit sensitive, so flakies are not only unattractive but really irritating to my eyes. This stuff won't do anything fantastic for you - it lengthens a bit, thickens a bit, but nothing special. I just liked that it came in a variety of shades, was inexpensive, and didn't flake. But no more. Crazy allergies... ugh.

and I thought I was the only one who did not get the hype about Great Lash!
This has never worked for me either.
The brush does not lengthen or separate your lashes, the formula clumps and runs.
Great Lash is inexpensive but it is not the least expensive mascara you can find at your local drug store.
My favorite cheap mascara is Jane's Fan Club Curling Mascara in Blackest Black, it costs less than Great Lash and it works exceptionally well on my short, sparse eye lashes.

I've read so many raves for this that it must just be me cause it clumps and doesn't do much in the way of length or volume for me.

I never understood the hype and praise for this product. I repurchased this again since I hadn't tried this since high school. I was still disappointed-stuck together lashes that smeared. I might try this again if they have reformulated since it continues to get rave reviews. I prefer Revlon's Lash Fantasy, Avon's Curling Mascara, or Mary Kay Lash Lengthening Mascara, which are superior!

When I bought this mascara, I thought it would "wow" me since it says its #1 best selling in America. It kind of did, but kind of didn't. I found that it lengthened and volumized my lashes, but it didn't really hold the curl. Instead, it kind of made my curled lashes less curly...It didn't give me much clumps. It's good for its price I guess.

I'm surprised to see that has such poor ratings. I know it says on the label "the best selling" mascara but it doesnt mean its the best product. I think its a good basic mascara for everyday use. I guess just use the waterproof. Before i go to bed, i always jump in the shower and its still on, no smudge or what so ever. I would buy this again because i always get it on sale for buy one get one free at my local drugstore.

It smudged on me. I think it's because of my oily skin (and lids) that mades it so. Racoon eyes make me look extra scary since I already have an intimidating vibe to my look each day.
I use it everyday for school so I can use it all up. Bring along something to clean up smudges during the day.
It's not at all clumpy like most mascara. It's a much thinner formula. Also, it doesn't flake at all. So it's not all bad.

I was at first skeptical that this product could be as great as all the magazines say it is. I have tried DiorShow, MAC Plushlash, Maybelline Full n Soft, CG LashBlast and VolumeExact, MF 2000Calorie, Maybelline VolumExpress, etc. Up until now, only LashBlast and VolumeExact have performed satisfactorily. I need lots of volume and length, because my lashes are quite thin and a teensy bit sparse, though not that short. The only gripes I had about the aforementioned mascaras are that the formulas are both super dry, and application is super messy. Anyway, I really just had to see if GreatLash is as bad as everyone says it is on MUA. SO I got the curved brush version in Blackest Black. And to be honest, I think this is much better than Full n Soft. Really. Full n Soft doesn't give my lashes any volume at all. Of course, Great Lash isn't as dramatic as CGLashBlast or VolumeExact, but for a basic, everyday mascara, I think this does an excellent job, save for its tendency to smudge after a while. It gives me the perfect amount of volume, length, and definition without clumping, enough color to create some drama, and a even bit of curl (LashBlast actually straightens my lashes)! And it feels feathery to the touch, unlike LB and VE. I really think this could be a staple in my makeup stash. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another tube.
