I really like this stuff and I don't see how others don't like it...but some things don't always work for others. One person said they couldn't use this under makeup...the trick is to wait for it to absorb into the skin...either that or they are applying too much or not rubbing it in. I have mild adult acne and this has helped clear me up. It doesn't mosturize too much, but it's an acne treatment that doesn't dry the crap out of your skin. I notice it does reduce redness and at least I don't have to worry about this bleaching stuff like benzoyl products. I hope neutrogena keeps this around....I even like the face wash too!! Now they just need a mask to go with the line!

This is not very hydrating but it does work great on acne. I have been using this during the day under makeup. It smells very relaxing and goes on like gel. It can be drying if you have dry or sensitive skin. I normally have oily skin and when I do this works great, but when I get a little over-zealous with my facial treatments and my skin gets dry, this stuff just adds to the problem. Overall a great day-time acne treatment to use under make up.

this works pretty good for what i use it for which are my shoulders and back. i have back and shoulder acne so this is a nice way to getting medicine to the area with a nice smelling, though not really moisturizing product. it's okay for my face but i like paula's choice liquid bha because it's a better ph balance. i have a spray that i use for my back and shoulder but it's sticky so this is better in my opinion.

The only reason I gave this a 4 rating, and not a 5, is that this product is NOT hydrating at all. I still think it's a great product, and since it is for acne, it is not overly drying. I have been using it 2x daily, for almost 2 weeks now, and my acne (whiteheads and cystic) are A LOT better. The first 3-4 days, I did find it to be mildly drying, yet my face has now adjusted to it, and it feels like a light, very, very light moisturizer. If your skin is dry, or live in a cold climate, I can see that this product would not be for you. It has saved me a trip to the dermatologist appt. for cortisone injections in my hard, cystic bumps.

OMG, i fell in love. this worked so well for me. i use it once a day in the morning and my MMU goes on perfectly over it. its helped my skin a lot and i dont need a moisturizer, however if your skin is on the dry side you might need a second one. i also use the foam wahs and scrub from this line. i hope they keep it around!!!

First off, I just wanted to say I'm not a huge fan of Neutrogena but I love this product! It has made my pores look smaller and cleared up my skin in just two weeks. I've tried salicylic acid before but it never worked for me. This is the first SA product that actually didn't make me break out more or make my skin super dry, irritated and itchy. Makeup applies nicely over this product. I do use an extra moisturizer over it though because, although it won't dry up your face it doesn't really hydrate it either. Wow, my sensitive skin really likes this product. Try it. :)

Oh, thank goodness I found this product! I had a really bad breakout that came out of nowhere. Seriously, I have never had a worse breakout ever and I almost wanted to cry. My sister has really clear skin now thanks to the dermatologist and some sulfur pills, and I wanted my mom to get me some, too. I am so glad that I found this product first, though, because it is like a lifesaver. I've only used it 3 days, but I love it. I don't get a pencil eraser effect, but if you need a moisturizer, don't just rely on this (I also use Olay Semsitive Moisture Therapy Lotion and it works like a dream!). I was actually happy I found this product because I could put makeup on over it and that is something that is really important to me. It sort of just sinks into your skin. I also use the foaming wash in the line and that is equally amazing. I never really thought Neutrogena could live up to its claims, but with this line, it is different. Even after washing my face it looks less irritated and red, and with this, it looks amazing! My zits are almost all gone now!

I really wanted to like this, because all the info on the neutrogena website made it seem so promising, but i just wasn't impressed. first of all, it says its supposed to be hydrating, which means it should somewhat MOISTURIZE my skin, which it totally doesn't IMO. This was the reason i really wanted to try this, because my skin is really dry in places, but very acne prone. Second, this stuff produces the worst 'pencil-eraser' effect, where if you touch your face, it like peels off in little white dots. REALLY annoying, and makes it virtually impossible to apply makeup over it. And I NEED to wear makeup. Thirdly, this just didn't seem to help my breakouts. Maybe if I would have given it more of a chance, but I couldn't deal with the other negative aspects to keep using it. I think Rapid Clear Acne Defense is a far superior product (it produces the pencil-eraser effect to some degree too, but not as bad as this product). I guess I'll stick with that till i find something better.
