I first heard about this fragrance-free foaming cleanser in Dr. Leslie Baumann's book, "SkinType Solutions" and was curious to try it. For reference, I have extremely sensitive, combination skin (oily t-zone and normal to dry skin) with a tendency towards breakouts, irritation and redness when my skin doesn't like what I apply on it. The fact that this cleanser is fragrance-free was a determining factor in my decision to try it as fragrance-laden cleansers or any other face products are totally off-limits for me because I experience severe allergic reactions ranging from irritation and redness to downright ugly rashes and pimples. I was pleasantly surprised that this foamy cleanser was so mild yet so effective at removing oil, makeup, even eye makeup easily yet gently. My face is left soft, soothed, residue-free and clean and ready for whatever else I want to use. After rinsing this off, I was able to apply my Paula's Choice 1% BHA lotion or 1% BHA Gel and Hydrating Cream around my eyes and cheeks. I've been using this cleanser now for over a month with no allergic reactions so far. (Whic is a good sign because by now my skin would have reacted horribly if this cleanser contained anything objectionable to my skin.) My skin feels soft and smooth and not heavy. I wish that Aveeno's remaining products in the Ultra Calming line were fragrance-free and did not contain alcohol as I cannot use anything with fragrance or alcohol on my face. Definitely will repurchase!

I bought this on a whim because I was tired of my cetaphil drying out my skin so badly, and I have to say, I'm very pleasantly surprised with this. At first, I was a bit skeptical, because usually face soaps don't do anything for me, and I have VERY sensitive skin... but this actually does what it advertises. I've been using this for a couple days now, and so far, my face feels and looks better. Usually after washing, my face would feel tight and my face would be red. But with this, it really does seem to calm my skin, it doesn't leave me feeling like i'm still wearing make-up, and no tight feeling! I also noticed that even my make-up looks better. Also, it really does remove all of my make-up, and leaves me feeling clean. For me, this is a bit on the expensive side, but it's worth it for me if it continues to work as well as it has been.

I have dry skin so generally look for creamier or exfoliating cleansers, but the positive reviews convinced me to check it out. Surprisingly, for the first time, I'm using a cleanser that doesn't leave my skin feeling tight. I don't get pimples very often (1-2 once a month) but after switching the pimples have started coming up even less often (maybe 1 in the past two months).
What's more, I don't really expect my cleanser to be a good makeup remover unless it's advertised as such, so I was really surprised that I didn't need to follow up with a cleansing cloth or makeup remover even with foundation on. With full makeup, I use a full pump for my entire face, and then maybe 1/4 or 1/5 pump for each eye; it even takes off my MAC Fluidline. FYI, the liquid inside the bottle has sort of a strong smell to it, but don't let that turn you off from it, because once it comes out as foam, the smell is very mild.
I have a tendency to shop around and not stay loyal to a product in case there is better out there, but I get the feeling I will be coming back to this one.

I have severe problems with my skin. Cysts, dryness, sensitivity, and it's really difficult finding one product that takes care of all these problems. If I use a cream cleanser, it doesn't dry me out but it is not strong enough to clear away the flakes continually forming on my nose. If I use a foaming cleanser, it gets rid of those flakes but also makes my skin flare up and my acne come back worse than ever.
I guess the logical solution is a foam cleaner designed for sensitive skin. This way it would get rid of my skin's inherent flakiness, but at the same time be gentle enough not to trigger a breakout. And this product does a pretty good job, at least compared to the cleansers I've used before. It's not too drying, it doesn't sting my eyes and it doesn't smell. The thing keeping this product from being perfect is the fact it didn't significantly enhance the quality of my skin; it just maintained it so I don't break out any more or less than usual. I'm still searching for the cleanser for me.

I have repurchased this over and over. I have oily, yet very sensitive, acne-prone, retinol-treated skin; so I need something fairly gentle. I haven't had any irritation and it removes all of my makeup well. I don't know if it contains any miracle ingredients, but it works well, the price is right, and I don't break out. I'll keep buying it until they stop making it.

I really like this. My skin is sensitive and prone to breakouts. This cleanser doesn't irritate my skin at all. However, it still manages to remove the makeup from my skin. My face feels clean after using this without feeling tight.

it's definitely really gentle, doesn't make my skin feel tight at all, feels 'healthy'.. but after a few days, i started getting reeeally big painful pimples underneath my skin. when i stopped using this and switched over to another cleanser with salicylic acid in it, the pre-pimples shrunk a lot more. i still really liked this cleanser despite the huge pimples, so i may just mix it with another cleanser containing S.A. and give it a second chance

i have very severely acne prone skin and i'm going to try accutane. But basically i've tried every cleanser out there and even home remedies. This is my favorite cleanser. It's light and makes my skin feel soft and moisturized and i feel good knowing it's not adding extra oil to my skin or aggravating my acne. i will use this as long as they make it, but i am also petitioning their parent company to discontinue the use of animal testing. this is the one thing that makes me cringe when i buy aveeno/johnson and johnson products.

I thought I liked it at first, but aveda or mario badescu is definitely better. this is not so cheap, and it feels and smells(!) kind of waxy. that is gross. i really hate the smell, it's like a non-smell, but it definitely smells like something waxy. it washes off makeup gently, but then it leaves a film and after a few weeks, i started breaking out weirdly.
not purchasing again! :(

this stuff cleans my face just right.my face is super dry and this balances everything out. Doesn't get all my eye makeup off but not very many cleansers can. I use olive oil or Vaseline to remove the rest...this is my staple and I will definitly repurchase in bulk!
