NYX Jumbo pencils are wonderful shadow bases. Milk is my favorite. It is a matte, creamy white. Other reviewers have pointed out that you do not need much of this, and it must be blended in well over the lid, or it will crease. I always use it over UDPP. I will use this, as opposed to just the UD primer solo, when I am using shadows with a lot of sparkles or glitters, like a MAC Lustre formula or some of the velvets, like Light Ray, that have micro sparkles. I use Milk under several Fyrinnae pigments that have a ton of sparkles. It provides a lot more stickiness than UDPP alone. This base can also make for trickier blending, but careful placement of color will help. These are around $4 at Ulta, so I would say try them out. I couldn't find Milk at Ulta, so I ordered from an online supplier (nonpareilboutique.com).

I really wanted to like this pencil as there are so many good reviews here.
Unfortunately for me it just didn't work.
I tried all the wonderful tips here for application and no matter what I did it creased.
Sigh.......I won't be repurchasing.

I love all the NYX pencils but this one is by far my fave. It goes on so smooth and creamy. It does have a tendency to crease if you use too much. I love wearing it as a base. It makes any color you put over it POP. Also works for highlighting!

OOoh lala! I love this product! It is so multi purpose...and really, that is always something that stands out to me. This product goes on so creamy...and when warmed up and blended out with the fingers, it's the perfect matte white base for brightening up your eyeshadow. It's also great to highlight key features without adding shimmer to your face. Brilliant! The key to using this product effectively is to use it sparingly and blend with warm fingers to help emulsify the product. This spreads it evenly and easily. I love this product and I can't wait to try the other colors!! I need to get a hold of that yellow one but it's so dern hard to find!

xoxoxo

jessie

This is a really nice milk color. True to the name, its a matte white, and its very opaque.

I like it, i just don't like how its hard for me to sharpen them because its too big for my sharpener.

Consistency is awesome. Its creamy, and it goes on easily. I haven't worn it under eyeshadow for a good enough amount of time though, so i'll have to update on that. Otherwise, i really like this.

Love this product. It is a fantastic way to make any eye colour pop. It is a true matte white. I find the consistency just fine, it's all about how you apply it. First of all, don't put it on too thick. Second, blend it out. I find my finger the easiest way to do this, but I have also used a concealer brush. I get smoother results with my finger. If you find it tugs too much, simply rub your finger on the end of the pencil to get the product onto your finger first (and this warms it up a bit an makes it easier to spread) and then apply it to your eye. You really don't need too much at all. I do have rather oily lids and I find it creases only when I have put on too much. UDPP underneath also helps with this. I also use it on my inner corner under a white shadow for a highlight. Depotting is definitely a good idea, although it can be done in the microwave as well. Just take the metal end off the pencil, stand it up in a cup with the end resting in the jar you want the product to melt into, inside the cup. I would also like to mix this with some pigments to make other coloured primers. I stock up on these regularly.

Simply put, LOVE the JEP from NYX. They are all creamy and this white one is great. Super creamy, easy to apply and easy to blend.

Try it :)

Milk is awesome! It's my favorite jumbo stick. It's really creamy, true white, and works great as a base. The consistency is what makes it better than other cream sticks out there. It's incredibly smooth and easy to use. Don't layer it on too much, or it will crease (general rule with creams). I would repurchase again

I love this stuff and all NYX JEP for that matter. I use them as a base and it's great to make shadows pop. Colors that simple won't show up on my skin, look like they're supposed to look with this white base. I will say that when I first got it, I hated it in the worst way because it was too greasy and it creased. Then I realized that it was just me and I was using it wayyyyyy to thick. Now I apply it directly to the lid and blend it down with a concealer brush wherever I want my colors to pop. I love it and really never do a look without them now.

This is one of my favorite jumbo pencils. It is an opaque white as is amazing. It provides the perfect base for all bright powder shadows. They colors intensify so much with this. I also love it on the waterline but it is a little hard to get it there as it is a jumbo but still great. Perfect for the inner eye corner and just under the eyebrow, really accentuates the shape. LOVE it. The price for this is still a shock, so cheap!

This is a MUST have for brightening and widening your eyes! Run this pencil on your bottom water line. The white dramatically opens your eyes and makes you look fresh and awake! I love this pencil, and it seems to always be sold out on the NYX website, but always in stock at your local Ulta store! And as always, price can't be beat. $3.99 for 0.5g off a jumbo pencil!

I suggest for most buyers to depot these jumbo eye shadow pencils first. Before I ever depotted, I had a hard time blending out the shadows myself.

There are a couple of Youtube videos showing how to depot the pencils. The tools I used to get this task done are pliers [to remove the end of the pencil], a clip hanger [to clip the pencil onto], a blowdryer, and a 5-10g jar. I use old EDM sample jars. It's very easy to do ... it's also very messy, so beware.
There's also a sanitation problem. Because, of course, you'll be dipping your fingers into the jar, but I found it's so much easier to blend out!
I use this shadow pencil as a base for my other e/s, so like other reviews, I agree that it does crease. However, it does make your e/s pop!

Today I used this product (in french fries) ontop of some UDPP, but as of an hour ago (3pm) it is creasing. I thought the urban decay might stop it, but it didn't. I loooove the color french fries and how vibrant it was when I originally put it on so I think I may buy more. As for the shade milk it does do a good job as a base, but me being african american I find it best for me to rub two swipes on my index finger and apply below my crease. The eyeshadow then appears lighter, but as for creasing I'm not sure. It does what everyone uses it for (a base), but using it as a base I haven't heard the creasing problem.

Color: Extremely pigmented matte white color
Texture: Difficult to blend on the eyes, involves tugging, not very good unless you want wrinkles; slightly chalky compared to the other colors
Lasting Power: Since it's a cream, it does crease after a period of time, but if used sparingly or warmed up, it's a great base
Verdict: This is a nice base, but it's too hard to blend & I have to sharpen it (if it was twist-up it would be so convenient); it's okay as a highlight, but I usually end up blending it all away so there's barely any left in my inner corners. Try the other colors, they're creamier.

This is a soft creamy white jumbo pencil. I use it on top of my Two face shadow insurance to make colors pop and to also make them just show up better. If you apply a small amount and make sure it is thin and even enough, you should not any problem creasing. The price is super cheap anyway, but I got in in a buy two get two free at ulta, making it like 2.50USD
which makes it better, I also bought a gold colored jumbo stick as well, which I have not tried yet.
I recommend and will repurchase, it is far better than paying more for something that does the same.!!!

This is a great versatile product that I would reach for continuously! I just love how the color brightens up my whole face. I’m sure we’ve all struggled with eyeliners that barley show up on your skin even when pressing ridiculously hard. I refuse to use anything that makes me tug or pull on my eye area. It’s just not worth it. This pencil glides on like a dream and has pretty good staying power. I still use UDPP as my base then follow up with the NYX pencil. If they changed the packaging a little to make this a self sharpening pencil it would be perfect. I can’t wait to try out the other colors, especially at only $3.99 a pop!

I saw this pencil being used on a youtube tutorial so I thought I would give it a try. It is definitely a great base and helps for other shadows to stick well. I think for the price it is a good product.

i really didnt think id like this product, but i was proved completely wrong. i used very little and smooth it very lightly over my lid and it brightens my eyelid and keeps my shadow in place. i like it so much, i cant believe my UDPP is sitting on the sidelines now.

First of all, this product needs to be depotted. If you don't depot it, you'll end up wasting tons of product.

I thought this would make a great eyeshadow base because that's what I heard, but it really creases.

The good, it will definitely make your shadows pop.
