I rarely wear eyeshadows on my lids because the climate im living in is just too hot and I don't really wanna look like a mess by the end of the day. However, I must say that this product is amazing for my powder liners! the eyeliner stayed throughout a hot sunny afternoon, lasting up to a whooping 8 hours (and probably more!) I could see like, at least 95% of my eyeliner and there weren't much transfers to the folds of the lid. Really amazing!

It comes off a lil oily initially, but blends to nothing in abit. However, it does leave a slight white cast (pigmentation?) after it dries. Not a big deal. I tried applying NYX jumbo eye pencil together and the colors appeared more pigmented!

Would definitely repurchase. for a buck? always! (:

This was actually my first primer, so I can't compare it to another product of this type, but I can still compare it to what I know about what a primer should do. So here it is: it does even out my skin a little bit (I have very transparent skin, so it doesn't do enough to offer me a uniform canvas), it has quite a good grab, so it does intensify the eyeshadow quite a bit. But the fact is that I have incredibly oily lids - without any base, any eyeshadow creases after 5 minutes, especially in summer; with this product, it creases after 1 hour. Yeah, I can see an improvement, but it is not enough for me. I could say it's a product that does everything a primer should do... but only a to a certain, not completely satisfactory, level. I guess it would be ok for people with less oily lids (or even for me, unless it's so hot outside).

The only other primer I own is a LE Twilight "Foreshadow" that I got at London Drugs. That was way too oily and it did not dry to a nice, workable texture like this primer does. I'd been wanting to get UDPP, but I'm currently on a low makeup budget so I ordered some stuff from ELF, this being one of the items. I ended up getting 9 items for around $20 instead of spending that on the single UDPP.
Anyways, I did not expect much from this because I've been hearing mixed reviews for both ELF primers. But what did I have to lose?
.
This primer is actually really awesome. It starts out with a bit of an oily/runny/slippery feel, which I find helps you blend it into your eyelid. I give it a minute or two to dry and then go ahead and apply my eyeshadow. The primer dries very matte, and surprising picks up color very well! I did a test with a cheapy drug store eyeshadow that gives me no pigment without a primer. On the side that I swatched without primer, you can hardly tell I put anything on my hand. On the side with the ELF primer, the shadow had adhered to my skin and it was vibrant and appeared pigmented.
After 9 hours of wear with my MAC eyeshadows, there's no creasing and no fading! I'm pleasantly surprised.
I'm not sure why this primer makes some people's eyeshadow crease, but it didn't make mine crease at all. In fact, it made my eyelids feel silky smooth and they just look gorgeous and the shadow is easily blended.
if you have super oily lids, this might not work for you...but for $1 it's worth a shot.

I was pleasantly surprised with this product. My favorite shadow primer is Too Faced Shadow Insurance but it was too pricey to continue buying. So I tried the Nyx one in a jar. That was basically using concealer and was too cakey on my dry lids. This e.l.f. one immediately felt amazing on the first application because it is moisturizing and allows the shadow to actually "stick" on unlike the Nyx ones. I feel it creating a barrier that once it dries, allows the shadow to glide on and not crease or drag. I found that this eliminated harsh lines and allowed for easier blending as well. It just feels so comfortable on my skin and so far is my favorite primer I am using. The price is unbeatable.

OMG this is very liquidy stuff, like lipgloss. It comes off even after it dries.
I use NYX eyeshadow base in skintone.
In comparison, I don't even know how E.L.F. ever came up with this primer. I will forever more use the NYX one.

Okay so, I have EXTREMELY oily lids. For me, in order for a shadow to not crease during the daytime when my skin is more oily, it takes a miracle of a product.
Normally, for an eyelid primer, in use Mark's Primed for Perfection for my eye shadow. At night it holds up great. During the day, it holds up until a certain point because my lids are much more oily during the day. However, that primer is AMAZING when it comes to making colors pop. I have a darker complexion and normally a lot of colors don't even show up on me, but with this primer, it does and normally stays on. It's about $10.
I decided to try the eyelid primer from elf for $1. I did a comparison, between my normal primer and the elf one. I used an elf mineral eye shadow. I could tell immediately that this primer does not make colors pop very well. It does more so than if you didn't, but on its own, its not that great for grabbing on to color. I decided to test it out for the whole day to see how long it would last without creasing. It lasted a good amount of time. It did crease by the end of the day but thats with me and any primer. I'd say I'd use this more often for an everday primer and save my mark primer for special occasions.

All and all, the primer itself it pretty impressive for it's $1 price. I usually use TFSI and was hoping for a cheaper alternative. Well, I'm certaining sticking with my Too Faced, however this is a great primer for someone who is either just getting into makeup, or on a budget.

-Not a huge fan of the applicator, I'd prefer just to rub it on, myself.
-I don't know if this is just me but if I re-dip the wand in too many times, the primer squirts out at the top. It's weird, messy and such a waste!

Got conned into buying this after some good reports from some Youtube Gurus.Dont bother. I have UDPP and TFSI and they are so far above this in quality, they dont even compare. This is like foundation stuck in a wand tube. And it doesnt work.

In my opinion, this product is definitely worth purchasing considering its price, amount, and overall quality. I actually prefer this product to Paladio's primer. I find it works best if a cream shadow is applied over it before the shadow. I think its lasting power is awesome! One of my favorite E.L.F. products

It really didn't help much. My shadows stayed on for about 2 hours before creasing and/or fading. Such watery consistency and not very creamy.

This is not the best eyelid primer in the world, nor is it the worst (in my opinion). However, for a $1, it is a pretty decent product nonetheless. And, whether you are new to makeup or not, it is worth trying at least once.

E.L.F. is known for always having lots of sales. So, I will probably end up buying more of this stuff just for the fun of it!

So everyone knows that this is cheap. Given that, this is a pretty great primer for those of us who don't want to spend $22 on UDPP. Since I am quite new at makeup, I don't really see the point in buying an expensive primer. This however works nicely and it makes a huge difference on how eyeshadows apply. Before, I used to simply pack on eyeshadows onto my bare lids and would wonder why they would crease, or why they would just not stay put for more than 20 minutes. I blamed the quality of the eyeshadows first, then I bought some Urban Decay shadows and while the colors are more vibrant, the lasting power was just as bad as the cheaper ones. Then one day I pulled out this, I had bought this awhile ago and never really used it since I never thought it would make any difference. Well I was pleasantly wrong :). The eyeshadows just latched onto my eye lids. I didn't even have to pack on a whole lot for them to look vibrant and they lasted a good 4 hours without creasing, which is saying a lot for something worth a dollar. Don't expect this to live up to high end primers because it simply won't, but if you want something cheap that actually works try this! It will make a difference!

I was a UDPP user and switched to TFSI... for no apparent reason really, I just wanted to try TFSI.

Anyway, TFSI is not the cheapest so I decided to buy this primer because 1) it has awesome reviews
2) its cheap!

I have to say it DOES NOT disappoint!
Very impressive for the price.
I use it everyday for work and just use TFSI for special occassions :)

Will repurchase again and again!

Very impressed with this product. I have been using UDPP, and not too impressed. Bought this one day, and LOVE how the e/s just pops, and stays put on my oily eyelids. even still looks good after a 12 hour shift overnight in the hospital. Will def repurchase!!

I purchased this from the elf website, along with a bunch of other items, and recieved the package a few days ago. And since then, I have tried the primer once or twice, and so far it seems to work VERY well :D

I figured it wouldn't be that great, it would only last for maybe half as long as my TooFaced Shadow Insurance, if that, since it was only a dollar... But I was VERY wrong about that! I put it on around 10:00 AM, and after going to the park with a few friends (in the Texas heat, not to mention my incredibly oily eyelids... :3) it lasted, crease free until around probably around 9:00 that evening? Somewhere around that time..

But this primer is AMAZING!!! :D

The only thing I don't particularly care for is the packaging, its a sort of clumsy feeling tube, and hard to get out all of the product, but whatever though, its just a dollar:DDDD

I love this product! Nothing beats the $1 price tag! I've used TFSI & UDDP and of course this doesnt hold up as long as those high end primers do, but it still does give an awesome bang for your buck! I loved that this primer was nice and light which unlike the others mentioned aboved were pretty heavy and left my eyes feeling tight, dry and rubbery.

Overall for everyday use, I highly recommend this!

This is the first primer I've used, but I needed one and since this was such a steal, I thought I'd try it. And it actually works quite well. It keeps my oily lids from, well, being oily. It also makes my eyeshadow stay with only just a tiny, tiny bit of creasing by the end of the day. My only problem with it is that it makes my eyeshadow less vibrant, but not in a noticeable way really.

I am in love with this stuff! The best part is that it's only a dollar! I was very skeptic at how it would work considering the price. But I was amazed! The other primer I was using always creased two hours after applying it which was contradictory to the point I thought. This kind doesn't though! And it's great for when I want to wear my bright, cheap eyeshadows lol! I'm not thrilled with the tube though. It was fine for the first week or so. After that it started doing this thing where it would push some out when you closed it and some would come out around the ring where the applicator goes in. But, hey, it's only $1 so it's not like I'm crying over losing expensive product. I just finished one tube and it took me about 2 months and I only used it maybe twice a week. Overall, great product!
