Thought I'd give this a try because it seemed my post-adolescent skin had finally stopped breaking out (I'm almost 22) but could use a little help when it came to redness here and there. After about a week and a half of use, I started getting acne worse than I have in years.

IN THE TRASH THIS GOES! I was so disappointed as I've heard great things. I did leave my face soft, I suppose, but now, thanks to this and the medication I've had to slap on to get rid of the zits it caused, my face is in worse shape than ever; here's hoping Cetaphil will help. Would NEVER repurchase and I'd warn friends off of it!

I thought this would be a great product for my dry sensitive skin. I tend to get red at the drop of a hat, particularly when the weather changes. Well, this stuff just made my skin drier, particularly flakey patches on my cheeks and around my nose. I went back to my old standby: Dove Beauty Bar for Sensitive Skin (I know, weird to use SOAP on my face, but whatever, it works). My skin is much happier now. Would not repurchase.

THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WITH DRY SKIN. I bought this because of the good reviews. I'm very picky with cleansers because my eyes and skin are sensitive, and my skin is dry and flaky with acne. This cleanser has worked good in taking off my makeup and not leaving my skin dry or red. I will probably use this at night and use my Neutrogena 60 second pore cleansing mask in the morning, because that gets rid of the blackheads.

Used this for about a week, I don't see any improvement to my sensitive skin. It is too drying and hard to rinse completely, like there is a slippy flim left on my face, I prefer the squeaky clean feeling.

I used this twice... Liked that my face did not feel dried out. It felt calming and soothing during the wash. However after each wash, I woke up with a few itchy red bumps and pimples on my cheek! And this was the only new product to my routine. I even got a huge red hive on my chin area that I washed... Perhaps I am too sensitive to the botanical part of this product.
I bought this after reading the raves on this board... but am disappointed to find that I may not be able to use this product. I returned the product.

Got this because of the good reviews. I'm happy I did. It's a nice soft cleanser, and surprisingly the foam doesn't disintegrate when you're washing your face. One to two pumps of foam is plenty. It hasn't irritated my skin, leaves a nice soft feeling, not greasy or dry at all. The "feverfew" ingredient does seem to tone down any redness or irritation. Pretty happy and will continue to purchase. My other favorite is Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash, which works for me better in the summer when my skin is a little oilier or when I'm wearing a lot of makeup. **UPDATE** 11/20/05, I started noticing some red and dry patches on my face. I still kept using it, but this past weekend I went on a trip and used my old standby, Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash (I have it in a travel bottle). After three days of the switch, my skin looks so much better. No redness and my skin is smooth. I don't know why I bother trying other stuff. My tried-and-true routine works for me every time. (Purpose cleanser, EA Perpetual Moisure at night, Olay Complete sensitive SPF 15 day)

I like this stuff b/c it feels awesome when I put it on my face, and I love the foaming action. It rinses off so easily, and it seems to agree w/ my skin. A nice, basic cleanser that I can use in the A.M.

I really liked this product to begin with, it removes make up well and doesn't leave the skin feeling stripped. However, it broke me out. This was the only new product I had added to my regime in 2 months...I stopped, cleared up and then tried again but I had breakouts. Too bad...

The last time I used Aveeno to cleanse it was the Positively Radiant formula, which seemed fine, but then I got HOOKED on Dove and they discontinued it, so next I tried Neutrogena which left my skin TIGHT AND HORRIBLE, so this is the next up. I love that they changed the packaging to include a cap, so when I travel, this can come with. This formula is great. It's VERY gentle, fragrance free and doesn't leave me with any skin problems or tightness. My skin is SEVERELY dry and since we're heading into cold weather in Michigan I have to be on top of the skin care regimen. It seems to do a good job of make-up removal as well. I picked this up for $6.49 at Target. Will repurchase (unless my Dove comes back! but this might actually be better)

Cleans effectively as far as I can feel and see on a washcloth but not overdrying or irritating and leaves no residue or even the slightest film. There are no harsh smells or ingredients that strip or sensitize. Great cleanser!!!!!!

I have used every cleanser from Dove bar cleanser, Clinique, to Lancome, Darphin and Philosophy. This is the best, by far. I'm reviewing it after using it for 2 months (I am still not done with the bottle yet, either!). I LOVE this cleanser. Not only is it cheap and easy to find (I get mine at WalMart), it is great for sensitive skin, and it hasn't irritated my prone-to-breakout skin. Every other cleanser I've ever tried has eventually clogged my pores and caused breakout, making my skin worse after I start using it. But, now my skin is steadily improving in texture, clarity, and evenness, and getting better as far as blemishes. I moisturize with a few drops of pure jojoba oil, and my skin has never been better. I love it and recommend it. The bottle isn't *the best* as the pump doesn't work very well towards the bottom of the bottle, but, I don't really care, the product is still great!

EDIT: Like I've said in other reviews, my skin needs have kind of changed. My skin is drier and needs more moisture from a cleanser, so I use Laventine cleansing oil. But, this is still great stuff for sensitive non-dry skin!

This is probably my favourite cleanser. I usually am always changing cleansers but I've stuck with this one. Nothing leaves my skin so clean without dryness, and it really does reduce redness, even in blemishes. The smell is not great but inoffensive (a weird, chemically herb scent) and I love how it foams up but does dry out or irritate my skin. I definatly recommend it!

This is a rather new product for me, as I've only been using it about evey other day for the last two weeks, but that seems like adequate time for this product. This is a really nice cleanser! I have oily skin, that is easily clogged and rough, and this, while not being a treatment product, helps my skin by gently cleansing it without stripping it or roughing it up too much. If I am wearing tenacious sunscreen, I rub a little sunflower oil into my skin first, and then follow with this cleanser. I like that it comes out as a foam, and so you're not mashing into your face trying to get it to foam and distribute evenly. Definitely helps me in treating my face more gently (as I tend to want to 'kill it' with treatments and scrubs, etc).

I've been using cetaphil for a few months w/ no problems until about two weeks ago, when i had an allergic reaction to it. Cetaphils i gentle but it does have sodium lauryl sulfite in it, so essentially its not soap free. I've tried aveeno's saylic acid cleanser and liked but it's too drying this time of year, i noticed this line at target and used it when my face was still going through its reaction to the cetaphil. It' worked wonderfully, my face calmed down overnite, and the rash and redness went away, i'm pleased! Will update to see how this works out long term!

I think the idea behind this cleanser is great. I have done some searches on pubmed, and (though I can't find anything about feverfew topically) it does seem to have anti-inflammatory properties, and I think it probably does work. It did work for me the first few days. It's not really drying, but it's not moisturizing either. I suppose it's kind of 'neutral' in that aspect. It also removed make-up very well (I use water-proof tinted moisturizer, so that's quite a task). When I began using it, I saw a reduction in redness, but then two days later....nasty rosacea flare =(. I really wanted to love it, but my skin is so sensitive, it seems that I am sensitive to almost everything. If you have sensitive skin, I would try this cleanser, despite my review, because I think sensitivity of my level is the exception, not the rule. I think many people with irritated skin may find that this works for them, just not me.

I came back to this and I still love it. It does take off all my makeup, it's gentle to my sensitive and combination skin, and it helps with the blotchiness and pimples. I'm really impressed.

I LOVE this facewash..I'm completely ecstatic. I started using it about a week ago. I have dramatic improvement. I have very acne prone, sensitive skin. I have been using Pro Activ for the past 3 months. It made my face dry, red, and instead of healing the pimples, they were just hidden under my skin. When I stopped using the Pro Activ, it's like they all came back out of hiding. This Aveeno Calming facewash truly lives up to its name. It is helping clear my face of the pimples, moisturizing, and reducing redness. I am in love with it. Now, for the perfect moisturizer...Any suggestions?

I've been in the market for a cleanser for a long time. Cleansers I've used: Paula's Choice Cleanser Normal/Dry and Skin Balancing, Prescriptives Fresh Foaming and a couple Lumene. I saw this on sale at CVS and decided to give it a try. I wasn't sure what to expect since my skin is normal/slightly dry/sometimes oily in spots (is that combination?) and prone to breakouts/blackheads if I use something that doesn't agree with my skin. I've been using it for 1 month now and can truly say that I saw results within a few days. Immediately after washing, I notice that my skin isn't tight and truly feels clean with no lingering residue. There is no funky scent and the light foam can be deceiving. It really does clean.

Packaging: I really like the pump! It makes for easy travel.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone with normal to slightly dry/slightly oily skin and sensitive skin individuals. Thumbs up; I'll be buying again. If anything changes, I'll let you all know!

My long search for cleanser is over! The cleanser I've used for years was discontinued not too long ago, and I'd been through at least a dozen bad ones until I found this new gem by Aveeno. I have dry, sensitive skin, and this face wash doesn't irritate it in the least! It removes every trace of makeup, and doesn't make my skin feel tight at all... rather, it feels somewhat moisturized. I don't know that it's made my skin actually LOOK any better, but I didn't expect it to. All I want is a simple cleanser, and now I've found it! I won't stray from this product.

This is a really great face wash. I've been using it for the past couple of weeks and my skin is noticeably smoother, softer, and more even. I have pretty sensitive skin, especially since I use prescription cream at night, and this has been perfect. It's really gentle b/c it's soap-free, but it still removes make-up. I highly recommend this one!
