I decided to try this because I read so many great reviews. I assumed it would be like Queen Helene's Mint Julip mask but moisturizing. It didn't do a thing for me. My skin stayed pretty much the same. I bought the small size. Even using it once a week I didn't see how I could use it all up before its expiration date. I'm sticking with the Queen.

I bought this a few days ago and tried it for the first time tonight. Five minutes after washing it off, the results are ok. The reason I purchased this product as a mask was because it has a longer expiry date than the fresh face masks. I cant really afford to be spending £6 every two weeks and only using up half the product before having to throw it away because it has expired.
When I first opened the pot, I was hit with a strong menthol/minty smell. I personally love minty smells so for me that was a plus. The texture of this mask is sort of lumpy and gritty, and the colour a greyish green.
After removing my makeup with a face wipe, i applied this to my entire face. As soon as I started to apply the product, I could feel it tingling and the mask gives a very cooling sensation. I liked it...but I was also a bit panicked because my skin can be a little sensitive. I waited around ten minutes, for the mask to dry on my skin. I then removed it with my hands in circular motions with water. It's a bit of a pain to get off to be honest, and makes a mess. But this is actually an ok exfoliant, as the mask has a gritty texture. It reminded me a bit of St. Ives apricot scrub.
Following the mask, I used some Breath of Fresh Air toner, and a light moisturiser which is always part of my nightly routine. (actually, i use Clinique's clarifying toner as my nightly toner but that can sometimes be a little harsh... i didnt want to use that, have some redness and confuse that with the effects of the mask).
I see lots of people commenting that the mask dried their skin out, and i can see why, its very purifying. However, I felt it necessary to judge the condition of my skin after the mask with moisturiser, because I ALWAYS apply a moisturiser after cleansing.
While there is not a huge amount of difference in my skin post-mask - I still have some blackheads and visible pores on my nose, my skin feels generally refreshed and cleaner.
I bought the smaller jar, which I am glad about because I hardly used any product for one application, and so if i had of got the larger one i probably wont use it up. For the price, this is an averagely good mask , and is preferable for those on a budget to the fresh face masks because of the longer expiration period.

This mask is super effective. It brightens up my skin, reduces blackheads and leaves it super soft. I love the smell, it's very minty. I love the texture. I usually let it dry and then emulsify with my fingers and do circular motions while rinsing it off to get a nice exfoliation. I love to use this every week.

This is my favorite mask. It smells delicious, eliminates mosttt of my blackheads. It's a little akward at first, cuz its so clumpy and green lol. But after you wash it off it makes your skin baby soft and gives a nice glow. My only complaint is that there is no LUSH in Queens..at least not my part, so I make sure I stock up when i hit the city =)

I am so glad i got this as a sample, because I don't think I will be buying this. I only use this on my nose in an attempt to clear my blackheads.I do not use it on any other areas of my face because this mask is for people with oily skin and I have sensitive and dry skin.
1) it smells and feels wonderful on my skin. Nice minty smell. I won;t describe it as a chocolate mint smell, but it's definately minty. Also when applied, it has a nice cool feeling.
1) Blackheads are still here.
2) Does nothing
4) New pimples on my nose.
I am fairly disappointed at this product, and I am upset it didnt work as well for me, but I do love my Catastrophe Cosmetic mask!

I bought this mask based on the great reviews on MUA, I am quite new to Lush and have only tried a few products, some good and some bad. This mask is a dark greyish green muddy clay mask, it's kind of gritty but not too harsh. It's supposed to be deeply cleansing, toning and exfoliating with a pepperminty smell. It smells refreshing of mint, but not as sweet as mint candy/gum. I have normal skin and the mask tingles slightly, but my skin is never irritated or dry after using the mask as many other reviewers experienced. The mask feels so refreshing and purifying, it kind of even makes it easier to breathe! My only problem with this face mask is that it is difficult to remove, it doesn't rinse off, you have to rub it off and the green color stains so be careful!

I got this as a big sample one day from lush and I'm really glad i didn't buy it because as soon as I put it on it burned my skin sooo bad I had to wash it off it hurt so much. Usually I love lush products because while I am alergic to a lot of soaps/ hair care ect lush has been my hg for all things bath because I get hives and rashes and sometimes trouble breatheing from mass commercial soaps.
If you want a nice mask from Lush go for the Love Lettuce - I love it it tightens my pores and calms my skin and makes it happy.

Firstly I would like to say the smell of this damn thing makes me GAG, I honestly cannot keep it on my face for more than 5 mins (even that is torture) because I can't stand the smell of it. I don't know if it's just me.
Basically I was really excited to try this after everyone's been raving about it. I went to the LUSH and had to buy the big pot because there were no more small ones, the expiary date is not too far off and I will never get it finished, even if I loved the smell so buy the small tub if you have to. Apparently you can use this on your body so might try it on my chest where I get some blackheads just to use it up.
This left my skin feeling kind of soft after using it, but nothing special and major difference. I honestly prefer my old normal out of the packet masks to this thing. Don't think I will ever repurchase, very dissapointed.

I was a bit weary about using this product after reading several bad reviews for people with dry/sensitive skin (like mine).
But it worked wonders! I tried to apply it as gently as I could, as to not scrape my skin, and it started to tingle. Not painfully, but rather pleasantly. After a while the tingling stopped and I could almost feel my skin being purified. I washed it off in the shower, just slowly massaging the product off my face, and it felt incredibly soft!
I did apply some Clarins Huile Orchidée Blueu (a face treatment oil for dehydrated skin) but this was just because it is part of my nightly facial ritual.
I don't think it smells of chocolatey mint (which people seem to be smelling) but it's just a fresh minty smell, that doesn't annoy your eyes (no watering or irritation) or your nose.
I wouldn't recommend using this more than once or twice a week, keep it special ;) (and I think it will be too aggressive on my skin if I used it too much)
But this is definitely my HG facial mask :D!
