I absolutely loved the bottle and thought it would look perfect on my nightstand. Too bad it smells far from perfect, and I didn't bother smelling it until after I bought it. It gave me a headache and as soon as I sprayed it I started sneezing. After a couple hours it got less obnoxious, and almost bareable - until my boyfriend told me I smelled like a funeral parlor. Gee, he really made me feel justified in my splurge... At least I have a new decoration. :)

Blah. The bottle doesn't appeal to me, and neither does the fragrance. A very generic bland flat floral. Top notes are quite sharp, and then fades very quickly to a nondescript floral scent. Lasting power is practically zilch- ie, disappeared after a couple of hours on my wrist.

I'm surprised to find myself liking this fragrance. I was never much of a Lauder fragrance fan, but this one seems to have quite a unique appeal to it. I have to agree with some of the reviewers here that this fragrance smells a lot like their Pleasures Intense, but with some spiciness in it. This fragrance is a lot like Lancome's Poeme. They're both WAY too strong, but if you use them very sparingly, you will find that they both have a subtle sexiness to them. If you wear too much, it WILL make you smell like an old lady, but I find that one light spray is enough for my liking!

Very heady, very flowery scent. I liked it when I first sprayed it on, smelled just like a tropical rainforest. But then as it dried down it turned into an almost rank, dead flowers type of smell. Yuck!

Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. I almost liked it, but there was some loud, stinky top note that I couldn't identify that was ruining it for me. It's sickening. Three washes and I still couldn't get the horrible stuff off.

I must admit that I'm very disappointed in this fragrance. I had experienced it on a scent-strip and also sniffed the bottle several times before I decided to purchase. I thought it would be a perfect scent for me, but I was wrong! I had decided to add it to my most recent Gloss.com order instead of picking it up at the mall, and now I have to deal with mailing the silly thing back. Beyond Paradise began nicely enough, with floral notes along the same lines as Kate Spade (which I also own, and love!)...so I started thinking "Do I really need another fragrance so similar to Kate Spade?"...then, it turned into a hideously synthetic and plasticky odor on my skin! What went wrong? Oh well, I guess at least I tried it, but I'm very disappointed at the way the scent took a turn for the worse. It may just be my skin, but I would definitely advise everyone to spritz it directly on their skin instead of trusting your nose to the scent-strips.

i got the sample from the estee lauder counter over the weekend...for some reason they were hiding the tester bottle behind the display? anyway i love this fragrance. it smells like hawaii. the girl at the counter says it's a bit strong at first but give it fifteen minutes and it mellows. she was right, and the lasting power is very good. i usually don't wear florals well -- they're either too sweet or too "powdery", but this one worked for me. i suppose it's all personal preference when it comes to fragrance, but i thought this was a great sheer tropical floral scent. (yes, pretty bottle too!)

Stinks as much as Youth Dew. What else can I say. You'll get your chance to have it in any of the upcoming gift with purchase events. Whoever created this one ought to be fired!!

Ghastly! I sprayed some on a strip of paper and was overcome by the cloyingly sweet fumes that smelled like bathroom air freshener. To be honest, the smell was so frightening, I did not have the heart to spray this stuff on my skin!

This is the latest in a long line of heady florals that have been coming out lately, like Kate Spade and Vera Wang. If you like that sort of thing, it's a pretty good one and it's cheaper than the others. But it is fairly basic - nothing too exciting here. Definitely too floral for me! Love the bottle, though.

After seeing the great advertising for this product in magazines, I was excited that it would remind me of a tropical vacation instead..... it reminds me of a little old lady!!!! It is so overpowering that it made me sick. I had to go to the bathroom before I could continue shopping and use soap to remove the smell!!!! Don't go near it!!!!

Disappointing fragrance: smells to much like Pleasures..E.Lauder is squeezing every ounce they can out of their success with Pleasures. I feel insulted as a consumer..1st it was Pleasures, then it was Pleasures Intense, now Bedyond Paradise..This is too much!! Did not last long on my skin either, anyways boring and generic in my opinion.

This comes in such a pretty bottle, so that's where all the extra lippies come from, but the floral fragrance is so strong that it makes me feel sick.

Estee Lauder perfumes are all the same to me... Don't stand out as anything spectacular. Just plain florals. I prefer more sophisticated, unique scents.

They made such a rave about this product, I had to go out and try it. BIG MISTAKE! I thought it smelled like old lady! They gave a sample of it in one of EL free gifts, and boy am I glad it was just a sample! No wonder EL is hyping up this new perfume.. they found out how bad it stinks, so they want you to THINK it smells good so you can go out and buy it! Peeeewwwwww~!!!

I don't usually like floral scents, but I must say that I LOVE this. It seems to have strong notes of jasmine, honeysuckle, and "tropical rain" for lack of a better description. It's beautiful and not overpowering at all, at least not on me. I find I'll have it on and then catch a whiff of something a few hours later, thinking it's nice - yep, that's what it is. EL has a winner here in my opinion and I can forsee this being one of my favorites in the near future. And, of course, the bottle is absolutely beautiful.
Edited 10/1/03 to add that since I have been wearing this I get constant, and I mean constant, compliments on my fragrance. People demand to know what it is I'm wearing because they say it smells so good! My body chemistry must mesh well with this. It's divine, I love it.
