Why didn't I read the MUA reviews before I wasted my money on this horrible mascara?!
It clumps like crazy. I almost poked myself in the eye--and I saw no "fanning" action whatsoever. Too bad I lost my receipt or back to the store this would go!

Talk about copying Givenchy. There's nothing great about this product. The regular version lengthens but does not add any volume creating a rather weird effect. You'd have to probably combine it with a volumizing mascara. This version clumps. That's it! It has no other purpose. Not worth the 10$

Just aweful! I guess it makes sense that a mascara with a brush 1/4 the normal size would suck. I wanted to believe that it makes application easier...but it really doesn't. My main problem with this mascara was major clumping! If you buy this, also be sure to buy an eyelash comb. Otherwise, you'll have tarantula eyes.

Meh. This stuff is so not worth your $8 or $9. Seriously. It clumps up if you even look at it wrong. Yes, when you use it you can see those little tiny lashes, but that's only because they're clumped up with this yucky mascara. It's not an applicator problem--that is, I have no trouble applying it--it's a formulation/product problem. It's yucky, sticky, clumpy and not worth the time, trouble, or cash.

Absolutely terrible. Thankfully, I got this as a free sample or else I would be upset I wasted my money on this. The bristles on the wand are more like giant rubber spikes, and that means a lot of product gets on each spike and onto my lashes. Meaning, it clumps horribly. Do not waste your money.

You do have to use this mascara in the vertical position. I had no problems with it and it made my lashes look a lot longer.

I was intrigued when the Guerlain mascara with the little spikey ball brush came out, and was ecstatic when the L'Oreal knockoff arrived. I am a die-hard mascara addict (like a lot of us on here) and love trying out the latest thing. As with many of my makeup staples, however, the tried-and-true stands up to the test of time for a reason.
While I like the idea of "getting every last lash," this funky brush proved to be more trouble than it's worth. It takes way too long to get this on my lashes. It might be good to use to get those little corner lashes after using a regular mascara wand, but really, with a little face-contorting, I can get those corners with a regular wand too.
If this hadn't been a gift, I would have returned it. Thanks to L'Oreal, though, for letting us less-funded makeup girls try out the latest thing for a fraction of the price of Guerlain!

I read all the reviews on here and I went ahead and still bought it..I am so glad I did! I don't have the longest or the thickest lashes in the world but it def made them pretty long and separated! Although it does get clumpy on the wand but that doesn't bother me. I like the unique design it covered every lash!

This mascara is awful. It's thin and gives almost coverage, and the brush is so big that I got product all over my eyes on top and bottom. I tried this mascara three separate times, and then I just gave up and threw it away.

The formulation of this mascara is pretty good. It holds curls very well and it lengthens my lashes amazingly, but it tends to clump quite a lot, because there's often excess product left on the tip of the applicator. It works awesome for my bottom lashes. I'm not a big fan of the packaging, but I wouldn't really count that as a downside... I won't buy this mascara again just because I don't feel like it's the best one I've tried so far and I'd rather go for a new one.

I just loved this mascara, I was able get even the smalest corner lashes, and my lower lashed OMG as my daughter would say. I have never had my lower lashes so full. I will buy again. I only needed two coats, and WOW!!!

I don't particularly like large mascara brushes. I wear contact lenses and anything big & scratchy approaching my eye makes me a bit nervous. Regardless, I do love the brush on this mascara. It allows me to reach even the tiniest lashes without getting mascara in places I don't want it. This is perfect for me. The formula seems good, but it's the brush I'm crazy about. UPDATE: Using this mascara again this morning, I decided it is truly my HG mascara. I think I have a whole lot more control of where the product goes. And it finds lashes I didn't know I had. Amazing stuff.

This product is nothing special. I do like it as a bottom lash mascara since the ball does allow you to get every tiny lash. But I don't find anything special about the formula or how it makes my top lashes look. It is no better or worse than a dozen other drugstore mascaras on the market. I won't repurchase.

Thanks SO much to all the ladies who reviewed and gave tips on how to use this mascara. When I first bought it I hated it...it gave no length, clumped etc...but now that I've read how to apply it properly, I love it!
Don't apply this mascara horizontally like a normal mascara - turn it so the end of the wand is facing you (does that make sense?) I have medium length lashes which aren't thick at all...this mascara makes my lashes so long and fanned out! No mascara has ever given me fanned out lashes before...so I'm really pleased that this one does because it looks gorgeous.
It takes a little longer to apply compared to a regular mascara....but that's ok, I don't mind spending an extra minute or two. Bad points...I guess the fact that this doesn't give much volume. But I don't mind because the long fanned out lashes it gives me look great. My boyfriend even complimented how nice my lashes looked - he doesn't usually do that.
Packaging is nice, my favourite colours (Red and Black). I don't really get any clumps with this anymore. Definatly try it out again if it didn't work for you first time with the different application technique. I'm glad I gave it a 2nd chance. Could quite possibly be my HG mascara

This is my HG lower lashes mascara. Perfect for getting them without clumping or smudging. I wore it all day and no smudging at all. Wonderful!
It gives me a lot of length on the top lashes, but no volume, and makes them a little spider-y. Not the best, but paired with a mascara for volume my lashes look amazing.
I don't understand the bad reviews on this. I love it. :)

I wish there was a way that I could give it zero lipsticks. Also I wish there was a way I could choose "Hell no" under the Buy Again option. I was so excited about this mascara but it turns out just to be a hot mess. I never should have tried anything besides of Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash.

I couldn't wait to try this mascara after reading the mixed reviews. My cup is half full, so I zeroed in on the positive comments and wow, my first application went perfectly. My lashes looked better than false lashes, and my bottom lashed never looked so long. I LOVE THIS MASCARA....it's my new hg ! Don't be afraid to try it. I never did my lashes in a hurry, usually take extra time to avoid spidy lashes, so it was no hardship for me to take an extra couple of minutes. Something else I discovered....I can curl my lashes after applying this and it works....no mascara comes off on the curler or on me. Even though I'm going to continue to buy this, I'm saving the wands because I don't know if the mascara itself is special or the wand, or both and I might try the wand with other mascara's. Oh, and I did use lash primer before applying thanks to all the great advice in your comments. I gave it 4 lippies because the package is just typical drug store packaging but what does that matter anyhoo? I've had chanel and Lancome mascara that never came close to this!!!

I believe that the people that are giving horrible reviews of this product are simply not using it correctly. It is difficult to not try to use it as a typical mascara (horizontally), but you just have to learn a new way of using a mascara wand. Using it vertically works best. It also helps to not hold it so close to your face. For example, when you use a "regular" mascara, most of us try to get as many of our lashes coated with the wand (which is what you are supposed to do). If you do that with this wand, you will get mascara on your face because the combs/teeth are not where they typically are (because it's a sphere and not very wide). Not sure if this makes sense or not. This mascara has made my lashes fan out more than ever and I can reach all of them, even the corners. I did get mascara on the bridge of my nose once, but that was because I went back to holding the wand in the typical way. It just takes some getting used to. I also think it might work better on those with longer lashes. I can see how it wouldn't work very well on short or very straight lashes. The formula itself is not special, but not bad either. I do love the wand and I will purchase again.
