I have very oily skin and this is the best foundation I've been able to find to give me a matte finish for most of the day. I do have to touch up my face around lunch time and maybe once in the afternoon.

It doesn't break me out and gives me enough coverage to almost not need concealer. The color is a perfect match for my fair but yellow skin.

I've bought this product several times and I plan on buying it again.

This works pretty well on my combination PPP skin. I found a pretty good color match in their lightest shade (01 - Natural Linen), which is not an easy thing for me to do.
It goes on very smoothly over a light moisturizer and doesn't accentuate my dry patches. Has not broken me out so far. This is a pretty sheer foundation, but I do find that it gives enough coverage (I have acne prone skin) and is very natural looking.
It stays put and keeps my face matte looking all day long, except on my nose, which is a bit annoying, so I would use this one with a powder. A very nice foundation, over all.

I prefer to wear loose mineral foundation because of its great coverage and safety (in terms of causing acne), but my face gets super oily and it just doesn't control oil no matter what I use under it or over it, especially in the summer. So every summer I start searching for something new. Up until this year, my summer foundation was Ultima II Wonderwear in Mocha. I hadn't found anything better to control oil and provide light/medium coverage. I decided to try other options this year. One of them is the Clarins Multi-Matte.

My experience:
Controls oil well (not quite as well as Ultima or Revlon Colorstay, but still good)
Lasts all day

Minimal smudging/transfer (but not quite transfer resistant)
Looks natural in daylight with decent coverage

Claims to be non-comedogenic (time will tell).

I had to blot my face once at 2:00, but that is excellent for me since with the mineral makeup I'm greasy long before lunch time, usually only about 2 hours after I put on my makeup (around 7am). As I said, only Ultima or Revlon CSN performed better in terms of oil control. The color match is outstanding and is superior to Wonderwear by a wide margin. Revlon CSN was also a good match for me, but it seemed to break me out. I will update if this formula breaks me out, since anything that can, usually will. :)

I'd recommend this to women with oily skin who want a long-lasting foundation that isn't quite as tenacious as Colorstay.

Note: It is virtually impossible to get an ingredients listing for this product online. I went to the Clarins counter to read the box since I got my unboxed bottle from Ebay. I don't put anything on my face without reading ingredients first, since I generally know what will break me out. I noted that this formula has polyglyceryl-3-ricinoleate, which I can't find on any comedogenic ingredient list, so it may be safe.
7-5-2004 I've had no problems with breakouts from this foundation. I wear it virtually daily over sunscreen and my skin is as clear now as it was when I first started using it. Great product!

first of all, i am using all of the clarins purifying line of skincare...cleansing gel, toner, ultra matte day and normalizing night gel. this line is the only thing that cures breakouts and oiliness. and i am a true oily skintype. this foundation is great for oily skintypes because as you heal with the clarins skincare, you don't need as much coverage. this foundation is a little hard to blend because of its mattifying powers, but it is well worth it because you stay matte all day long, even in intense heat, i live in florida. holy grail!baby

I like this foundation for my super sensitive/ combo skin. I use the lighest shade 02 and it blends in well. It keeps the oilies at bay, looks natural and smooth - not a 1980s flat matte look. And the best reason to repurchase this product - NO BREAKOUTS!! This is the only liquid foundation that has not caused breakouts. (I usually cannot use silicone based products but this one works like a charm.)

This is an OK foundation but for $37.50??? Too much fragrance, and it does give me little bumps on my face after. YOu are better off buying the LISE Watier, in Multifini powder foundation, the color selection in LISE Watier is limited but I lucked out with DUNE which has yellow undertones.

I'm reviewing this product on behalf of my daughter.
She has oily, acne prone skin.

She says;
It blends well, and looks very natural, with good coverage.
It makes me look great in mall lighting, and covers my redness without making me look like I'm wearing anything.
It kept me matte for a while, and looked great hours later, but I always ended up with whiteheads.

Fragranced, which I hate. The MA said some shades are yellow toned, to counteract redness, while some are a little pinker. It's nice, and makes me look nice in mall lighting, but I won't be repurchasing.

I really couldn't get on with this at all, it looked really chalky on me, the two shades the sales assistants gave me were totally wrong and it just felt too dry and powdery even though I have combination/oily skin.

yucks. it sinks into lines and creases and cakes there. the colour came out unnaturally on my skin, the consistency was bad - each time i used it i could see liquid floating on top and had to shake it to mix it. brought it back to the shops as soon as i could. stick to their skincare. its better than their foray into makeup.

There are many things that I really liked about this foundation. • First, the color was great #6, Praline, was an awesome match to my skin. It did not look grey at all and really looked natural. Might not be good for extremely yellow toned people...I think I noticed the slightest hint of peach in it. • Second, the coverage was great and it wasn't mask-like...actually somewhat light compared to other oil-free foundations. This foundation beats the pants off of Laura Mercier Oil Free which was, well, just plain gross. Now on to the bad stuff.....• This stuff emphasizes flakes pretty badly. So if you have dry skin or flakes stay far, far away. •It also makes lines look a lot worse. That was a problem under my eyes so I had to use super-moisturizers that area in order for it to look good. • Also, it unfortunately caused pimples for me. I loved how nice it looked, but when I washed it off I always had a new pimple or two, ugh.
So, this would be good for anyone with oily skin who is not acne prone.

Really matte! Aged my 39 year old skin like nothing else. This emphasized every line on my face, not a look I'm going for. The color was off too. Had a gray cast to it. Too much fragrance also.

I am a foundation guru, I try them all in search of the best. I got this foundation after receiving a sample at a local boutique. This foundation is downright nasty. Looks HORRIBLE on poors and looks really bad in sunlight. Needless to say, I don't reccomend this to anyone and won't buy it again.

This is definitely one of the best liquid foundations i've tried. It stays matte throughout the day. The only problem is that it may be a little difficult to blend due to its rather dry texture.

I so wanted to like this product. But by the second day, my faced itched so much I had to wash it off. On my first application, I liked the way it looked save the shadow that it created around my mouth because of the fine hairs in that area. Ultimately, this is really matte and I like matte but this may be a bit too much unless you are absoulutely dripping oil. My need to try for yourself but get a sample first.

Way too matte for me. I wanted to like this stuff because color 03 suited me well, but it made my eyes burn. It must be whatever that funky smell was. Great staying power though. All in all it is a decent product, just not right for me. Maybe right for someone with ultra-oily, non- sensitive skin.

Yuck, this was horrible, probably the worst foundation I've ever tried. The sales assistant recommended it as my skin is oily at times, but firstly she chose a colour that was too dark, and secondly this stuff just doesn't blend at all!!! It leaves a horrible moustachy look around the fine hairs along your upper lip and basically looks horrible. It even looks horrible as it comes out the tube as it has big white lumps in it that are supposed to dissapear but don't. The only redeeming feature is the nice squeezy bottle it comes in. I definately won't buy again!

Liked the consistency and coverage, not oily and covers well. I have very oily skin that in Oklahoma's humid weather makes me look like an oil slick by mid-morning, this foundation stays on well throughout the day and with only a little blotting paper use at lunchtime it stays on really well. I think usage of this foundation in conjunction with their hydra matte day lotion is a great combination to help control my oily skin!

This is a great foundation for oily skin. THis is better than Lancome's Teint Idole, IMHO. It goes on a bit more sheer and not as mask-like.
