I have extremely dry skin with red patches on my cheeks. I have tried everything from Clean & Clear to Neutrogena to Biore and everything in between, and this is my favorite that I have tried so far. It is super moisturizing! I have been using it a month (give or take) and I'm noticing that my red patches are slowly going away. This is not going to work overnight. I am 1/2 to 2/3 of the way to the bottom of my tube. You must give this time. I have definitely noticed a better complexion overall and I have had hardly any acne at all since I started this (but I am not very prone to acne in the first place) and this cleanser is clearing up my red patches, which is exactly what I bought it for. At less than six dollars at my local Walmart, this product is not very expensive at all compared to skin cleansers I have purchased in the past. I use this 2 times daily along with my Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion..it's my HG moisturizer and if this cleanser keeps working the way it has, it just might upgrade to HG status. :) I'll do an update when the bottle is finished to let you know if my opinion still stands!

EDIT: I've finished the bottle! I liked it, it did a great job moisturizing (it feels sooo nice) but I thought it would reduce my redness more than it did. It did reduce a lot of redness, just not as much as I wanted it to. Some days my redness was very mild and other days it got kinda bad. I used this twice a day every day. Maybe I just have unrealistic goals for what I want in a cleanser? I don't know..but overall, I'm still giving this product four stars because it is so moisturizing and for the most part, it did what it was supposed to. I think I'm going to try something different though..this doesn't quite make HG status! Oh and when I bought this I think it was on sale because it was under six dollars at my local Walmart and I went back to the same store yesterday to see if the price was the same and it had jacked up to almost seven bucks. I think I'm gonna try St. Ives Green Tea Scrub.

Everything you could imagine that could possibly be wrong with skin, is wrong with my skin. It's just a mess. I used to use five - FIVE - different cleansers and acne washes, depending on which of my problems were the worst on that particular day.

This covers everything. I apply it every other day. It controls every single problem. At first it actually made the problem worse, but after two weeks there is an amazing difference. I had intense acne scars that are now gone. I can finally go out in public without make-up. I'm so happy, I could cry.

I credit this cleanser with saving my skin. I started using it around four years ago, and it didn't take me long at all to see obvious positive results. It's very creamy, and I absolutely love the little micro beads. It's also great to mix with other gentle cleansers (such as Clinique's cleanser for oily skin formula). I know quite a few people don't like the smell, but it doesn't really bother me. It's a soft enough fragrance, in my opinion, that it doesn't really make that much of a difference. Over all, a great product from Aveeno that is more than worth the price!

I really wanted to like this cleanser, and at first I did. It has a nice tingle to it and it leaves my skin really smooth and soft right after use. Unfortunately, after a couple weeks of regular use, it's exacerbated my acne -- to the extent that I have breakouts in places I haven't before -- and my combination skin has become a veritable oil slick.

I have sensitive, dry skin that is prone to pimples once in a while and during my period. Every other acne products i've used always irritated my skin, made it read and didn't do anything for the acne at all. This cleanser is very gentle and creamy, doesn't dry skin out at all after, and contains mild level of microbeads. It doesn't do wonders on acne, but I think you shouldn't even use this product if you have severe acne in the first place. It makes my skin smooth. Obviously, the result isn't dramatic, but I think this cleanser is the only cleanser that didn't irritate my skin or caused a problem. If you wear makeup, don't expect to use this once to get it off. I usually use cetaphil to get it off once, then this to cleanse my face. you really should be washing your face twice with any cleanser if you wear face makeup.. hope that helped. BTW, when I registered for this website, I was asked about my hair colour. Brunette and brown is the same thing. stupid people

I bought this and I liked it. I like to use a cream cleanser before regular my facial soap, or just cream cleanser. This does the job nicely to me. I do have good skin though. I cannot say it brightens my skin because I do exfoliate. If you like cream cleansers like Noxzema, or clean and clear you could give this a try. You just do not get a lot in the package for the money.

So I haven't been using this product long. But even a little over a week I see a difference in my skin. The texture and tone are become very nice soft and even, it also gives me a glow. I love it. This product does NOT say it will clear your acne. But it does have salicylic acid which does help fight acne. I can't really say yet if it does prevent acne, and as far as the exfoliating goes, there is very little microbeads within the cleanser, but if you cleanse morning and night it should not be so bad because to much exfoliating will ruin your skin. I'm also a huge fan of this cleanser being hypo-allergenic since I've tryed so many things on my skin and they have probably ruined it a looot. Over all it's a pretty great buy if you have senstive acne-prone skin and want to even out everything :)

I've tried everything from ProActiv, AcneFree, Clean&Clear, Clearasil, Skin Id, everything! I wanted to try something natural and not so drying. It's no miracle, my face didn't clear up overnight or anything...but it feels awesome. My skin is clearing up and it has little microbeads that really brighten the face. Recommend!

Battling acne is hard. I came to the point of getting treatments from a dermatologist but it really didn't do much, and was just expensive. So back to drugstore I went. I had already found what I think is now my HG cleanser (Olay) so I decided I needed another product with salicylic acid because my Olay one doesn't. A scrub would be useful to get rid of dead skin build up as well so I decided to add one to my skincare.

I tried Neutrogena scrubs at first but I didn't really notice it doing anything beneficial for my skin. I remembered using Aveeno products back in college when my skin was really good, so I decided to try them out again. After a few months of using this everyday after my Olay cleanser, my skin is now almost prefectly clear.

I no longer get painful cysts, no more dry patches on my skin from dead skin build up, and this has helped clear my acne-blemished skin. Even when I do get the monthly pimples from my period, I believe this helps in resolving them fairly quickly and scar-free. I am very happy with this product. I don't know why this has such low remarks! Now that my skin is pretty clear, I only use this every other night just to cut back from too much exfoliating. Although I am the type of person who always wants to try new things, I would definitely stick with this one.

I would also like to add that even if you're not looking for an anti-acne scrub, still try this one for a gentle everyday one. Highly recommend it.

It is surprisingly hard to find a decent non-mineral oil based cream cleanser. As with most cream cleansers, this does not foam, nor is is made to lather which I don't mind.

After a long and hard search, I found this product by Aveeno. Price wise it runs about $7 in drugstores which I feel is decent. I like the cream like consistency and lack of fragrence. Another selling point for me is even though the label cautions against contact with your eyes, it does not burn or stink if you should slip up which is often the case with facial cleansers. My face looks and feels clean after each use. Kudos to Aveeno!

Love this cleanser. It has everything I want -- it's super gentle, it battles blemishes, it helps even out my skin tone, AND it doesn't cost a fortune. A lot of "acne" washes that are made for teenagers are too drying for my skin, which still gets breakouts but isn't too oily. This is perfect!

I love this product and I'm on my second one already, but it lasts a long time. This stuff works wonders and after a while, I'm starting to see my skin improve a bit. I love the little beads in the cleanser, and the fact that it doesn't irritate my skin is a plus. The smell isn't that great but still manageable. Definitely a product that I will repurchase!

Evens skintone! Acne scars, begone! Keeps my skin pretty clear.
But! My main complaint is it's pretty ineffective of cleansing off makeup so I use a lemon juice toner, also good for acne scars and takes off whatever it missed.
Not too drying for an acne wash. Reasonably priced. I wouldn't mind if it was cheaper but then again I think everything is overpriced haha.
The smell? Jeepers creepers, I have a sensitive nose but it doesn't bother me none. Come on now, what are you doing? Are you inhaling it into your nostrils? It's not a great smell but it's not strong. Gosh.
Worth a try! ^_^

I've used a bunch of facial cleaners from labels such as Proactiv, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear... the list goes on, and I have to say, I really like this one.

After Proactiv kinda controlled my major acne problems during middle/early high school, I was on the hunt to find an easy, mild yet effective cleanser that wouldn't dry out my skin, provide a nice balance, and get ride of the tiny bumps around my jaw line. On a whim at a drugstore, I bought this to try it out. Although it's not really cheap for a drugstore brand, I would say it's worth it.

Pros:
- Leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and balanced (not dried out, not greasy)
- I've noticed softer, more even skin and less obvious pores
- Got rid of the tiny bumps around my jaw
- Very rare and minor breakouts... as in 1 pimple, if any (I guess most would prefer none, but with my skin history... win!)

Cons:
- Doesn't smell as nice as I would like, but no Aveeno products really smell nice
- Not that great or fast at getting rid of big pimples

Overall, I'm pleased with the feel of the product as it feels like it's cleaning without stripping my face of everything good. I would purchase again :].

So i wanted to finish this so I can write a review on it. Let me start off by saying I have super oily skin along with acne and acne marks skin. This product does not clear or reduces redness, but only control acne from reappearing I guess. I will not buy againn.

I love this product! My skin feels so good after using it. I have combination skin that breakouts very easily so this helps keep the breakouts under control and isn't too drying.

I also love to wear the Aveeno sensitive skin SPF 15 face lotion.

Love this stuff. After a good year or so of using it every other day or so, I finally bought a second tube. A little bit goes a long way, especially if you're trying to avoid drying out your skin - no more than 1/2 tsp I'd say.

I remember lemming for this back in the day, while I was finishing off another salicylic acid based cleanser. Loved that it was at a full 2% cleanser and in a creamy form (used to use Biore's warming cleanser, which is too sticky and itsheat is an unnecessary special effect. Also used to use a similar one by Olay - age defying cream cleanser.) I also thought that the addition of soy and the gentleness of polyethlyne beads in the Aveeno sounded more interesting.

Fast forward to now, and though I've gone through months when I've used it barely twice, I recently found myself using this every day when my skin reacted to exceptional heat during a recent trip south. I was able to manage the comedones in the T zone using this in the morning - I'd spread a dime size dollop on moistened skin and leave it to work for a few minutes. Then I'd massage my Clarisonic brush on it just in case the pores didn't get the message - it's not harsh because the beads just slip between the brush fibers. Within a couple hours later, the small bumps would become minimized.

I'm not sure whether the soy ingredients do much, and there is a cooling sensation in it that I don't care for. This stuff beats the St Ives scrub (whose main ingredient is also Salicylic Acid) because the granules are smooth rounded polyethylne beads which is less harsh on your skin. I don't end up using this as a scrub - I use a brilliant Billy Jealously product for that - but the delivery form for the Salicylic Acid is what I love about this product. I still use it twice a week now that I'm back in a more temperate climate. I'd never use this more than once a day, because salicylic can be very drying - could be too drying/inflammatory for women of color.

(+) gentle, non-drying formulation (cream and non-foaming/soapy)
(+) effective level of salicylic acid (2%)
(+) good quality beads

(-) doesn't remove makeup

As you can see, I use it as a treatment rather than a proper cleanser.

This is why I use it in the mornings when there's not much to wash off.

I find a few minutes in the morning is just enough to treat without being drying. A brilliant, non-goopy cleansing treatment for dry, acneic skin!

Aveeno is expensive for a drugstore brand and to be honest I really didn't like the products I tried. The smell was the first thing that put me off. Its strong and irritating. Secondly, I didn't see an improvement in my skin at all so, just not worth it for me.

I wanted a gentle cleanser with salicylic acid to treat my acne for my oily sensitive acne-prone skin. However, this cleanser was not much in the way of a cleanser. It didn't take off hardly any of my makeup, even after I even wiped most of it off with makeup remover! It didn't break me out, but it didn't seem to improve my breakouts, either.
