I wanted this eyeshadow to work soooo badly! I tried to incorporate it in several different looks with no success. I didn't like the color payoff- wayyyy to sheer, and not the best to blend. I really disliked the color on me. I think it's because I have really dark brown/black colored eyes. It just looked muddy on me. Back to the mac store it went. Ref- NC 35-40, black eyes and hair.

I so desperately wanted a dupe for my (then) dearly departed grape pigment and the guy at the mac counter assured me that once this was applied this would be as close as I could possibly hope to get. Well I didn't get the grape dupe I had been hoping for but I did walk out with a really lovely, earthy purple. This is a very deep, dramatic color so I wouldn't advise using it heavily with my skin tone but used on top of other colors this definitely adds a lot of spice to a look.

The thing that is so great about this eyeshadow is that it looks great with so many colors! I can wear it with Satin Taupe, All That Glitters, Silver Ring, and even Mulch. Its brings out my green eyes well and is still somewhat neutral in a way. The deep eggplant color is lovely. And for 14.50, the shadows do last a long time.

I love this colour! It looks great as a crease colour and spices up a boring neutral look or creates a gorgeous purple look. I regret not buying this sooner!

The matte2 formula itself is truly amazing and I have no idea why MAC would discontinue this line. It's such a smooth formula and the color intensity is amazing. With that said, Fig. 1 is a beautiful eggplant purple and I usually use it as an crease color when I don't feel like using Embark, Esspreso, or Carbon. I would repurchase again and again!

a perfect plum/mauve/burgundy shade with the depth anyone would want.
I love this shade for using on the outer V to give depth and shape to lighter lilac or the new corals.

Fig. 1 is a great eyeshadow. Its versatile int the sense that it blends well with other eyeshadows to create a unique colour and you can use as little or as much as you want. I love the Matte2 formulation, mattes are my favorite texture of eyeshadow. This matte is also very pigmented and a little goes a long way. This consistency is not chalky, glides on smooth and plays well with others. Would buy again.

One of my favourite eyeshadows. I love using purples/plums and this colour is beautiful - a dark purple/plum matte colour. Super blendable and wonderful!

I was hesitant to buy this, especially from the swatch online (which is way off). This shadow is a beautiful shade of eggplant purple. It's dark but not too dark and blends like a dream. It's a lovely matte color that goes with a lot of different shades, which I was surprised about. I'm so happy I bought this shadow, it's one of my favs from mac. I hope they never discontinue it!

Fig. 1 is a beautiful purple color from Mac and it's matte too. It's really versatile you can wear it with pinks, other purples, silver/grey, or champagne colors. It looks great in the crease or as a liner on the upper and lower lashline. This particular shade is super pigmented and I love it. I highly recommend it.

I love this shadow!! It is such a nice purple color. I can only wear dark purple colors because of my skin tone. I love this one so much, it is so smooth and pigmented.
You can use this all over the lid or in the crease. It is great with pink looks or even brown. I like putting mattes and shimmers together as well. This color, Ploof and Pink Freeze are best friends.
I would get this again, I love it so much. It is one of my go to shades for when I am doing dark, smokey purple looks.

I received through a swap on this wonderful website. Great purple against my brown eyes on my lid or as a crease color.

This eyeshadow is totally underrated. It doesn't get much love but it is the most gorgeous matte purple/eggplant color in the MAC collection. Perhaps it is because of it's boring name or that it doesn't pop in the pan but it is so pretty on. It is also a matte2 which makes it super easy to use and the color payoff is excellent. Mac seems to be slowly discontinuing the matte2 shadows. Hope they never discontinue this one. If you love purple eyeshadows then this is a must have!

Great medium/dark shade of warm purple. I love this in the outer V or lightly applied in the crease. It's a matte2, so how could you not like it. :-) Very highly pigmented in my opinion.

Fig. 1 is an eggplant-purple shade, more of a medium-deep color than a bright one. It's a warmer purple shade, which looks much better on me than bright purple (light yellow skin). I mainly use this in the crease, & it's a great contrasting color for my brown eyes. It's a Matte2 shade, & I like these much more than MAC's regular matte e/s. I find those chalky & a little hard to blend, but the Matte2 shades I have (Fig. 1 & Copperplate) are much smoother. They are a *tad* dusty, but not bad at all & nothing I'd consider a problem. Fig. 1 is easy to blend & pigmented as well. Since this is matte, I like to wear it w/ a lid shade that has a little shine or shimmer to it. My fave lid shades to wear w/ it are MAC Woodwinked, Bobbi Brown Bronzed Pink & Chantecaille Quartz.

A wonderful matte purple which I use on the outer V and crease. Very similiar in colur to MAC Nocturnelle ( which is a frosty duochrome). Use it with yoghurt or blanc type for a wearable smokey eye.

I absolutely love this product, I love wearing it in the inner eye and crease with ricepaper and nylon as highlights. superrr cute, great finish (matte) and relatively easy to blend. if you're looking for a more dramatic look, pair fig. 1 with steamy on the lid... it looks amazing!
