Wow, very powerful opening! I was blasted with fruit, fruit and fruit right away. I went ahead and sprayed some on, thinking it might develop in an interesting way, much like Plus Plus Feminine did for me. Nope. The strong top notes started to fade, but didn't quite seem to disappear entirely. As the scent began developing into the middle notes, the strong fruit from the opening shriveled and turned and mixed with the floral middle notes, so I smelled browning, wrinkled fruit and flowers. Then, as the scent began moving into the base notes, the top notes started turning to rotting fruit and the middle notes to wilting flowers on top of patchouli. Oddly, descriptions of the scent list berry notes as part of the base, which just makes this scent sticky sweet all the way through. By the time this scent had run its coarse, I felt as though I were wearing Eau de Urinal Cake. Each note in this turned to sticky, wilting, rotting fruits and flowers on top of moose sweat on me. And since I live in a very hot and humid climate, it was suffocating. I felt like I was sweating in a gas station bathroom in 100 degree weather. This one did not work on me AT ALL.

When I sprayed this on, it was like green and blue neon signs flashing "FRUITS! FRUITS! OVER HERE!" and it stressed me out so much I tried (unsuccessfully) to wash it off.
I think I might like this more if I hadn't grown up with Bath and Body Works all over the place--smelling fruity or neon reminds me of being fourteen--yikes.

I did not think I would like this scent at all...
On me, it smells similar to Thierry Muglers Angel, with some hints of wood and citrus - I loved it! But, not enough for it to be a signature scent.
One day, I spritzed some fuel on after I used TBS Oceanus body lotion, and the result was so unique and fresh! This is one of the best combos on my skin I've ever smelled. I would continue to purchase this just to layer with Oceanus.
Call me crazy but it smells absolutely amazing!!! I dare you to try it! Or - don't because I want this to be my unique combo : )

I bought this perfume at the Macy's Holiday perfume party, and love it. I have found the scent to pretty potent so a little goes quite a long way. What I like most is the scent is pretty unique- so I don't feel I smell like everyone else.

I loved this scent at first smell but gradually as i've been wearing it the smell is becoming more and more like bug spray to me......it's a shame because the packaging is gorgeous!

This smells like very, very, very bitter lemon/citrus, booze and a little fuel/gasoline. Or like a lemon/citrus car air freshener that's been left out in the sun in very hot weather for days in an old, stinky dirty car in which you'd get carsick just by getting into and smelling it. Just, ewwwwwwwww!!! What a stink. This is one of the worst smelling fragrances I've smelled in my life.
It's called fuel for a reason... it truly stinks like fuel!! And it says "use with caution" on the bottle for a reason... this stuff stinks, and is also very strong, you can cause a major headache or even make someone throw up and even make someone carsick without getting into a car, just by smelling this fragrance, just with one spray of this scent. I really do think it stinks badly.

I'm big on spicy/oriental fragrances-- but my favorites always manage to get discontinued (ex. Venezia by Laura Biagiotti, Black Cashmere by Donna Karan).
I'd been looking for something new that I absolutely loved, as my "Pink Pepper" perfume by the Body Shop was almost empty (it's no longer available either). I first smelled this fragrance in a magazine, and it stuck with me. I was almost left in paper cuts because I kept rubbing it on myself. I read the formulation and wasn't surprised to read "Pink Pepper" as one of the notes. It has a sweetness to it, probably due to the mandarin, that other spicy fragrances don't have-- which makes it almost strange.... alluring and different.
I'm a student and couldn't afford to buy it... so I put "Fuel for Life" AND "Hypnotic Poison" by Dior (another one I was drawn to-- it smells like a spicy Root Beer) onto my Christmas wish list and let my boyfriend decide which to buy for me. He chose "Fuel for Life."
Not to be crude, but as soon as I got into bed wearing the perfume to watch late night tv, he was instantly intrigued and turned on by the scent. He has never had a physical reaction to my perfumes like this one. He can't even tell me why. So this perfume is like my sexy mystery. Ha, cheesey hey?
So, overall-- a sexy, unique fragrance-- with staying power. I'm taking off one lipstick because it's not amazing enough to be my ultimate HG (I'm on a seemingly never-ending journey to find something with cinnamon notes).
P.S. the lacy "glove" over the bottle reminds me of Madonna circa 1985. At first I found it a bit tacky, but it's grown on me.

So addicted to this scent, it's absolutely amazing, sexy and sensual. I got this in a sample and now i can't wait to buy it, the bottle is stunning as well. Descent lasting power, definitely my go to fragrance atm.

I would have to say this perfume is sharp, but not overwhelming. I'm having a feud with myself over this one! I would smell this several times in perfume shops and each time I decided I absolutely loved it and would make it my next buy. However, I had never sprayed it on myself, so I bought a small sample on ebay to make sure it would go good on me. Once I spritzed it on myself, I got a Mandarin punch to the nose. And after an hour... then two? Bubbly Mandarin. The Mandarin note just doesn't die down on me and remains most prominent. In fact, I can't smell any of the other notes other than a lovely hint of Jasmine which gives it that "antiqued Mandarin" feel that I read in a review for it. The Mandarin is very lovely in it, but unfortunately, this Fuel for Life stuff is watery, and I definitely think that the makers of this perfume could have added a little extra to it to change that. Either way, it's a bottle of modernized elegance and class. Energetic, vintage, bold, and confident. And it isn't sweet! It almost borders the edge of being "safe". That doesn't mean it isn't unique, though. I haven't smelled a perfume like this one. I like it, but I do not love it. I feel like I could go find something similar at Bath and Body Works due to the bubbliness within it. Oh, and Fuel for Life's lasting power? It's decent, it'll last strongly after an hour, but after that, it lies close to the skin.
Notes as mentioned on Sephora:
Mandarin, Pink Pepper, Jasmine, Patchouli, Black Currant, Raspberry, Musk.
And I really don't get the comparison to Flowerbomb. Smells nothing like it.

No, no, no! I really wanted to like this perfume, but as soon as I put it on I instantly felt nauseated and developed a headache. It is so annoyingly strong, but not pleasant. Way too much. On the plus side, if you happen to like this perfume it will last on you forever...I tried unsuccessfully to scrub it off.

At first spray, the scent was overwhelmingly and unpleasantly fruity to me. I was immediately disappointed. However, after about half an hour, the drydown smelled fantastic to me. I think I get more of the jasmine and patchouli with my body chemistry. I layer it over the "Sensuality" Jasmine Vanilla body wash from Bath & Body Works and it works for me. Smells sexy and fresh, and I love it. Just a lippy off for the initial scent- I need to remember to put it on immediately after my shower to let it dry enough before class.

I went to the fragrance counter at Saks a couple of days ago and mentioned that I was looking for something fruity or floral for Spring. I usually gravitate toward oriental or 'food' scents (chocolate, vanilla).
Fuel for Life was one of the samples the associate gave me, along with Flower Bomb, Scent of Peace by Bond No. 9 and a few others. On me, Fuel for Life doesn't smell at all like Flower Bomb - perhaps it's my body chemistry.
One reviewer described Fuel for Life as the love child of Flower Bomb and Angel -- that I can see. I used to love Angel - it was my winter scent for several years, but suddenly this year, I developed an aversion to it. Fuel for Life reminds me of Angel minus the cloyingly sweetness. Fuel smells rather woodsy on me. Not unpleasant at all, dries down to a more fruity scent. Long lasting, which I appreciate.
Hubby likes it, but the real test was my 5 yr old. He would not hesitate to tell a person that they stink! (We're working on his diplomacy skills.) Fortunately he really liked this scent. I'll purchase it to replace Angel, and continue wearing my Burberry Brit until I find a more summery scent.

I thought this would be more gender neutral due to the packaging, but it is pretty feminine. People below have described it well. I will say that it does not give me a headache (and a lot of fragrances do). I got a sample in a swap and have used it a few times. I am disappointed because I hoped it would be a signature/statement fragrance (like Obsession was in the 80s or White Linen or Romance) and for me it just isn't. I like feminine things (Princess by Vera Wang) so that isn't the problem. I had a few people comment on it after I had been wearing it for half a day so staying power isn't an issue. I just don't crave the scent. It's not offensive in any way, just not HG for me. I will keep looking. Hope swappers keep sending the various samples as freebies. These things make MUA so much fun!

This is an interesting, sort of odd fragrance. When I put it on it's got a sharp citrus note (I think it's grapefruit) and some unidentified florals. Over the course of its life the citrus disappears and it turns into an overly sweet floral (I think gardenia). The sccent was okay, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to wear it.

this is one of the most disgusting perfumes i have ever smelled. it is masculine and offensive, and headache inducing. Received it as gratis and cannot find anyone who wants to take it (for free!) because nobody seems to like it.

This is a nice perfume. The opening smells kind of like nail polish remover, but very quickly dries down to a neat combination of sweet citrus and patchouli. It's not a combination I would think would be good, but I actually really like it. Those two notes are the strongest to my nose, but it's also a bit floral. It's going to make a nice winter scent for me this year.

I smelled a little sampler of this and, I don't think I'll ever buy it, but I must say I appreciate this perfume. While the opening notes might be overwhelming, with blackcurrant and deep woods in a high concentration that will give you a headache, the drydown is incredibly lovely, when woods get warmer and melt into your skin. After half an hour, it gets like Lolita Lempicka, which is a good compliment. It has a lovely lovely bottle
