I'm still not 100% about how I feel about this foundation. I do break out a bit and seem to have enlarged pores if I use it too much, but I'm not sure if it is the foundation or my sunscreen doing this. F.A claim their silicon foundations can not clog pores - I'm choosing to believe them but I might take a break from the product and see how it goes.
Otherwise: The porcelain colour is great for me. It neutralises some of the redness in my complexion but still leaves me with my true peachy/pinky skintone. I prefer this to mac's NW shades. I was formally wearing NW20 (although I think I probably should have been NW15).
This stuff is high coverage but usually doesn't look too heavy. When I purchased it the MUA applied with a sponge. Personally, I find using a sponge seems to waste a LOT of product with this item - more than I've noticed with other foundations. I'm tried many methods and I've found my sigma flat kabuki does an AMAZING job here. If you are using the wrong tool to apply this product it will be very difficult.

If you have dry skin you may find yourself in a bit of trouble with this product. It is winter and my skin has been flaking. Usually nothing I can see before putting on make-up. Well, the minute I put this on any flaw is revealed! I know that happens with most make-up, but it seems more extreme in this case. I exfoliate regularly, moisturise, etc but alas, nothing works and this foundation makes things much worse. On some days I love using this stuff - other times I hate it. But it isstill better than anything I've tried thus far, so I'll continue using it on my non-flakey days.

This foundation didn't irritate any of my clients so far. It has a pretty dewy finish if you don't powder it - they advertise that it sets without powdering, however, I'd recommend you powder it, unless you've got terribly dry skin. It offers a light - medium coverage. Can look extremely natural if applied properly. Looks fantastic in pictures.
Also, if you have strong yellow undertones, you WILL need to mix foundations. If you're extremely pale as well - but I guess that's why they also sell their Zero Plus and Zero Minus adjustors.
I keep this foundation in my kit. We all know everyone's skin is different. If you have larger pores and oilier skin, stay away. Dry skin can use it if you moisturize well prior to application. Combo skin, I'd throw on some Super Matte Anti-Shine first to oily areas, set with loose powder and you'd be good to go. And normal skin type can rejoice and use. I have repurchased this twice already.
I like it because I can make it work for certain people. I know I don't like it on myself when my skin is oilier, but if my skin is dry, I love it. The color doesn't oxidize/change on me, unless it's "that time of the month". Something to think about ladies!

This foundation has light to medium coverage and lasts all day with a semi-matte finish. I find that it can show dry flaky patches especially in winter or if skin hasn't been adequately moisturized.

It is a silicone-based foundation and has to be shaken well before application, otherwise what you pump out is too runny. One pump is just enough to cover my face (I'm using the pro bottle which is just a smaller size - 20ml plastic compared to 30ml glass bottle - so I don't know if the pump sizes are different).

I still do feel the need to use concealer afterwards to cover up blemishes and powder is only applied over areas with concealer.

Overall, I think this is a decent foundation. I'd like to look around for a cheaper alternative but in any case, it is worth the price. I bought mine for AUD32 but the price has since gone up to 38.

I'm really surpised by the degree of praise given to this product. It is perhaps the worst foundation I have ever tried.

I have normal - sometimes dry in the winter - skin and this sat on top in a heavy-feeling, greasy film. Even with a tiny amount of product applied, it's possible to write your name in it! And don't even think about cuddling your boyfriend...

Although I do not have oily skin, this became incredibly shiny within an hour of wear.

The only positive aspect I can discern is that the foundation slides on and is extremely easy to apply. Which is handy... given the amount of times you need to touch up and re-apply.

I generally prefer higher-end foundations - from Dior Nude, to Laura Mercier's Silk Creme and Armani Lasting Silk - but this is the most disappointing, unjustifiably expensive, I have bought.

I purchased 2 samples colors and the white. I mixed the lightest shade they make with the white to get a true match to my skin. It went on easily and the finish was nice when freshly applied. I wish their lightest shade didn't need white b/c at the price they charge, it would seriously hurt my wallet to buy two full-sized bottles at once (I had to do a 50/50 mix). By 10 AM my face was very oily and I had to continue to blot at least once every 2 hours to keep from looking shiny. By 5 PM the color had oxidized and created a visible foundation line beneath my jawline. I tried wearing it again using different application techniques and setting powders throughout the week, with the same results. The coverage does last a long time, but that's the only positive I found. I also experienced a little bit of a break out. I expected a lot more from this foundation considering how expensive it is.

Not really impressed....based on reviews, I thouht it would be better.
Looks drying on my skin. Glad I bought sample colors. I will say
the colors are nice...I ordered 5 different ones and I could pretty much use each color. But I won't be purchasing the full sizes.

Love this product. I've got true combo skin with enlarged pores around my nose but dry-ish cheeks. An MUA-er suggested I try this and it is fantastic. It's not the most moisturising of products and can still look a little dry / cakey if I'm heavy handed around my cheeks but, generally, it is great. Chock full of silicone so glides on easily and covers blemishes so thoroughly that no concealer is required. You only need the TINIEST bit (my heavy handedness that I previously referred to occurred with just one pump!) and therefore I consider it good value for money. Hurrah!

I cannot say enough good things about this product.

I was first introduced to this foundation via a friend of a friend, who was a FACE Atelier consultant. I was getting married and was attempting my own make up. She set up an appointment with me, found the correct shades and products for my face. I instantly fell in love with the foundation. I've yet to find anything else that I like half as much.

It goes on smoothly and easily. No streaks, no smears. All imperfections instantly vanish. It lasts all day and doesn't get shiny, yet despite the awesome staying power, it comes off quite easily when I wash my face. I have problematic skin and foundation was never my best friend but this stuff is different. Doesn't clog my pores and I never break out from this. A little definitely goes a long way. I've had the same bottle for two years and I've still got a little ways to go before I need to reorder.

Finding the right shade is a breeze. If you skin doesn't match the standard shades (there are quite a few) you can adjust the colour by adding either the Zero Plus or Zero Minus which basically alters the shade of the foundation to match your skin tone. This also works for winter/summer time. I currently have #4 Sand and I mix a little of the Zero Minus in the wintertime when my skin is paler. Works like a charm.

I had many compliments about my make up on my wedding day. I looked absolutely radiant and I credit part of that radiance to this awesome make up.

100% my HG foundation. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

This is a lovely light foundation. I was able to purchase samples off of www.whiterabbitbeauty.com to find my color match. The owner, Jean, was such a nice person and even included a hand written note with my order. I found my match (Ivory) and put in an order for the full bottle of foundation. I can't wait! It doesn't go greasy or seperate on my like so many others. I guess everyone's skin is just different. I'm so happy to have found this! I'll still use my Clinique Even Better foundation, but this will be my go to foundation especially when I want to look extra good!

Here's my best advice - if you like Nars Sheer Glow then you'll LOVE this. This foundation has great pigmentation, awesome color selection, a beautiful luminous finish. Also, I ordered from whiterabbit (not affiliated) and I have to say that it's some of the best customer service I've ever experienced. I have been matched to NC25 in the past (although it's a little too yellow for me) and I purchased samples in 1,2,3,4. So far, shade 4 matches best. The only problem is that it does the EXACT same thing that Nars SG does to me - it pools in my pores and separates during the day. Looks okay from a distance but you can really see my foundation up-close. However, it offers a lot more coverage than Nars and I think many people could get a near flawless face with this product. I still really, really want to make this work so I'll be trying a variety of things and will update if anything changes. If you don't have very dry skin or large pores and want a truly airbrushed look then try this.

This is overall a very good foundation recomended by loads of professionals and I can agree with what most of them say, if you get oily t-zone, this might not be it.

Once applied it looks georgeous and has really good coverage.
Definately try it out if you've got normal skin or don't mind blotting and so on. I don't carry a purse so I can't really bring make up with me.. ;)

However I might concider having this in my kit in the future!

I do like this product (so far) very much. I can only speak for myself though. I am a professional make-up artist and have not yet tried it on clients. However it has caught my interest enough to purchase a few shades for my kit. I currently use Temptu airbrush foundations or Make-up Forever High Def on my clients and I love them but The Face Atelier Ultra has me intrigued!

i really want to love this foundation and i had a very high expectation when i recieved the sample. Unfortunately i can't recommend it and i won't be buying this product.
I'm normally use GA lasting silk uv foundation in 5.5 and i also use TSZ airbrush foundation(check it out if you want a good professional foundation) (i use airbrush foundation because i work in front of camera on TV, film and photoshoot, so i need the coverage but yet i want the natural look).
when i got my Face atelier sample, i was amazed by the coverage. it looked so flawless until after 3-4 hours, the make up started to melt under the hot lights in studio!! i was really disappointed but i didn't give up so easily, i tried it on next day out on the cold doing a outdoor shoot. BooHooo, the same things happened.....after 4 hours, check the mirror and the foundation is melting away even i was outdoor in the freezing cold weather.
this foundation is not long lasting like GA or any other airbrush foundations at all. Esp if you have oily skin or oily t-zone like mine.

I purchased several samples of this foundation to color match myself.

I found my color easily this way. At first the foundation seemed ok, but within an hour the foundation began to seperate on my face. There were like bubbles or puddles of foundation all over my forhead. It was so weird as to look like shingles or poison ivy. Therefore I did not order my shade of this foundation. I feel like I've lost my 12 dollars. This is definately a horrible foundation imo.

I purchased a sample of this from camerareadycosmetics. I was very surprised to see that the foundation covered all of my flaws. It completely evened out my skin. It even covered the couple little dried up pimples I had that were dark red.. which surprised me. A lot of foundations just make them look brown under my foundation. Though the foundation appears to be thin and liquidy, when applied to the face.. I feel like the consistency almost changes. You'd think it would be sheer to medium with a dewy finish. But, one it hit my skin it was noticeable medium+ coverage with a satin finish (not dewy & not completely matte). The finish is beautiful. It left my skin radiant and it didn't look heavy, cakey, greasy in any way. I didn't feel I needed to set it with a powder.. but after maybe an hour I noticed my skin did look a little shiny. I took my foundation brush (with no product) and buffed it over my face and all of the shine went away. It went back to the satin finish. Then I powdered my face and went out. By the end of the night, my makeup had stayed in place very nicely except the color of one of my blemishes had started to come through. I would say it has a good 8-10 hr wear. I love that the foundation looks so natural and the fact that you don't need a lot. I only used the residue from the cap for my whole face. This is such a beautiful foundation and when I have a little extra money, I would like to purchase the full size. In the mean time, I may order a couple more samples. I ordered a sample of #4 Sand. If you are a true NC30, #4 Sand may work pretty well for you. I swatched it next to MAC SFF NC30 and #4 looked lighter. I'll post pictures at the end of my post. I am not a true NC30 right now.. I'm more of a NC35-NC40 at the moment (at the moment because of my self tanner). Since I have no use for foundations that are too dark, I thought ordering #4 would be a safe move. #3 Wheat is said to match NC30 as well, #5 Sepia is said to match NC35-NC40. All shades are yellow based (yay for me). What is very interesting with Face Atelier, is that they have shades to alter your foundation if it doesn't match your skin perfectly. Zero Minus is a white foundation that will lighten your foundation, Zero Plus is a chocolate brown that will darken your foundation and Zero Plus Plus is a deep dark chocolate brown that will darken your foundation further. There is also Heat, which is a red foundation that will add warmth to your foundation. All you need apparently is a drop. I think its very nice that they have these shades especially if your skin shade alters throughout the year. But, considering their foundation is $45 for a 1 oz/30ml tube, I think paying another $45 for an altering shade is a lot of money to dish out. Considering you only need a drop, they should be in either smaller bottles or should cost less. That's just my opinion. View my swatch here: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_dQIlvTWDFi8/TOtCqTGYZ0I/AAAAAAAAAVs/qPe9YL9kWZA/s1600/blend2.jpg and also here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_dQIlvTWDFi8/TOtCp8LqWZI/AAAAAAAAAVo/mJkEO_1cSsw/s1600/blend.jpg.**** EDIT: I tried #5 and #6 and I can barely tell the difference. Both work good for the NC35 to NC40 range.

After wearing this foundation for a whole day, into the night - it breaks me out. Granted, I always break out from foundations that I wear for long hours, so I'm not surprised but I always gave it benefit of the doubt, but now I know for sure. Plus after a long day it makes my dry skin look like I have oily, sweaty skin. It's too shiny that it looks gross. & it doesn't hold up on my nose for some reason, strange since my nose isn't oily either. & by the way, my bottle which is the pro size, says in the ingredients that it may contain traces of bismuth oxychloride...it doesn't say it on the box, just the "may contain traces of mica, etc, etc". But on the bottle itself it has the additional bismuth in the "may contain traces of" list. I bought my bottles from a reputable online pro makeup store here in Australia, so I have no doubts that I bought the real deal. If anybody notices the same ingredient listed on their bottle please contact me & let me know.

In my quest to find the perfect, non-spf foundation for special occasions, (especially those when tons of pictures will be taken, i.e. weddings), I think I've found a keeper. AND most importantly for me, since my skin is so sensitive and clog-prone, one that will not break me out. I, for one, appreciate the cyclomethicone base (not cyclopentasiloxane which so many current companies are using). Deciding on a color was a little unclear at the beginning. I'm more of a skincare geek, so I admit that I can be color-challenged in choosing colors. But I am persistent and determined to find the right one. I'm not going to settle until I think I've found my perfect match. I love MUA, but if I had stuck with the color rec's here, I would have settled on Ivory (#2) but my REAL match is Sand (#4). I'm very yellow, light/medium, MAC C3 and Sand is perfection. I realized in sampling from WhiteRabbit that #4 is actually lighter than #3 (Wheat). And in checking with a UK site that sells Face Atelier, they describe #4 Sand as the shade for "light to mid yellow-based beige" (website is cocobeau.co.uk). It's the correct shade for MAC C3's....and I would add that NC30's should at least sample this shade to try it out prior to purchasing a full-size bottle.

I have combination skin with a moderately oily t-zone and normal to dry cheeks and on top of that, I have rosacea. I purchased a sample of this foundation several years ago and upon application, was horrified at how oily it made my skin look. It also felt heavy and cakey on my skin. Within one hour, it creased into my laugh lines, even after setting it with powder. I tried various ways to apply the product - with my fingers, flat foundation brush, kabuki, damp sponge, etc - and no matter what I used, it always felt cakey. I tossed the samples away and never looked back.

Recently, my makeup artist used this during my wedding makeup trial, despite my apprehension, and yes... the makeup creased during my drive home from her studio. After 3 hours, it had completely faded. No way was this product gonna cut it for my wedding! I guess I'm just one of the few that this product just won't work for.

It's almost impossible for me to find a foundation that is pale enough for my skintone, so therefore I bought this in Zero minus so that I can mix it with other foundations to get them pale enough. It's quite good for that purpose and mixes easily with other foundations. My only problem with it is that I have to use quite a lot of it each time because it's so thin and sheer. Though the sheerness can also be an advantage because it means I can use the product alone to look naturally paler.

OMG ! First off, I am so happy to have found this website. I absolutley love love love the Ultra foundation by FACE atelier. I was in New York this year when they launched the 5 new shades for WOC. The new adjusters and shades are so beautiful ! This foundation is a staple in my kit and every photographer I have ever worked with , insist I use this foundation. It looks amazing in pictures and produces such a flawless dewy finish. I find that even if my client is a little dewy the translucent powder by them does the trick. This line is amazing. I recently went on the website to order more foundation and saw they were out of one of the shades i needed. The girl in customer service who is listed as head of operations got back to me right away explaining that they were backorderd. I seriously heard back from her 5 days later letting me know the shade was back in stock. I cant talk about this company enough. From the product to the customer service everything is top notch. I recently got the lipglaze in peach, the lipstick in cameo and then brushed sable bronzer. AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cant wait for the day when I can get the whole entire line !
I seriously reccomend this product to everybody ! I can not wait for IMATS in Toronto. It will be my first time in Canada and I am going to crazy at the FACE atelier Booth !
