I got this thinking, I can get some anti-aging benefit from this since it has rentiol in it. Well me and my husband tried it that night and we both broke out by the next day. My husband had a bump that bled came out of the blue for no reason. And i had break outs all over my chin area. It too me two months to get my skin back right. Not to mention all the chemical peels that i had to do to get rid of the blemishes left behind.
I think that the rentinol was just to strong for My husband and I.

I'm 58 and have lines between my eyes and smaller ones over my eyes. I also have laugh lines (my word for crow's feet). I I've been using this for over a month. The results have been amazing. I add a moisturizer (L'Oreal Age Perfec) when it dries and I swear I can pass for much younger than my true age. I will keep buying this.....love it!

Roc ROCKS! This is GREAT! Secret is too apply moisturizer afrer serum dries. I reccomend Roc's uplifting day moisturizer w/ SPF. Skin looks so much better! Try looking for it at Marshalls ot TG Max. Cheaper there.

I bought this and it did nothing for me, I found the smell to be quite unpleasant also. The serum was relegated to the back of the cupboard until I ran out of Olay regenerist night cream and thought I would give the ROC serum another go, at least that way I could finally use it all up and be rid of it.
So I've been using this for 3 weeks in conjunction with a night time moisturizer from the face shop (why does it always seem that awful products take forever to use up although great ones seem to go in a flash)
Anyway after making this the only adjustment to my beauty routine I now have 2 big angry red pimples on my chin and forehead and my skin looks awful. After reading the other reviews on this site I see break outs is a common complaint amongst the other dissatisfied consumers. I've now gone back to my HG Olay Regenerist night cream and will be tossing this rubbish in the bin where it belongs

Is this supposed to make me get pimples in the first week. I just got it and in the last four days I've been breaking out. I have not noticed any other results. Im worried! My skin was looking good before I started using it. I read other reviews and was convinced it would help me with my forehead lines. :( Ill update in a week...
UPDATE: ok its three weeks later and Im happy with this product. Reason being that I noticed smoother skin and smaller pores very quickly. I did have to read the other reviews and wizen up to the fact that a strong moisturizer is need all over your face after the serum has dried. I use Kose Q 10 cream and love it. I live in Cali now and have many Japanese stores I can buy it from directly. The rest of you have to try Ebay. This combination has been optimal so far. I only use the serum at night btw. Sunscreen and Q10 cream in the am. Excellent!
Update: After over a month of use effects have dwindled and I find the product over drying.

This stuff is a winner !! I have pretty good skin but recently started to notice some fine lines on my forehead and around my eyes. I first got the Olay Regenerist Serum saw no results then I got this. Within 2-3 days I started noticing some results. My skin was glowing and the surface of my face was smoother. It's been 2 weeks and the fine lines ( although still there ) are less noticeable.
Now before I started using this product I did my homework and was prepared with not only a good moisturizer but *VERY IMPORTANT* a good SPF for the daytime. I don't know how much I would of suffered had I not prepared myself but I was not going to learn the lesson the hard way.
This is my regime:
At night: OCM , ROC Serum all over face ( 1 light pump is enough for the entire face ) then I apply Mary Kay intense moisturizer on lower cheek area since this is where I get dry patches.
In morning : Wash face with a mild cleanser, Roc Serum on the 2 areas where I have some fine lines ( forehead and eye area ) then I put on my SPF/Moisturizer on top. That's it !
Since the texture of my skin is so much smoother I am no longer using primer under my skin ( only if I go out and know I am going to sweat etc. ) Thus far I have not had any irritation, breakouts of any kind. My skin is UBER sensitive and I am so surprised my skin has reacted so well. This product is a great and will continue using it as long as I can !
1/14/10 Update: It's been a month since my review and I am happy to report continued success with this product. The lines on my forehead are almost gone and the lines around my eyes are GONE ! If I stop using this product I do notice my skin becoming dull. I am eyeballing the ROC Deep Wrinkle Cream because Costco has an awesome offer ( 2 for $30.00 ) so I might try that next. Thus far ROC rocks ! ;-)

Horrible. It made my skin red and irritated, broke me out, and made my wrinkles look deeper. I tried applying only 3x per week - still didn't work. I have heard that it takes a while for these types of products to work so I stuck with it for a month. I can't take it anymore, though. This product is ruining my skin.

Before I start, let me say that I've only been using this for a week and my skin is in pretty good condition to start with, so this review may not be helpful to some. I'm 31 years old. Now that that's out of the way... :)
I'm all about prevention. I've been using sunscreen for a very long time, back when most people didn't. I think that's probably the best beauty product out there, from teen years and way beyond. I got this because I started noticing some very fine lines between my brows and around my eyes. They weren't deep, but I didn't want them getting worse. I'm very expressive with my eyes, so the skin around them is always getting contorted. lol After the first night, I noticed an immediate difference in how my skin felt. It was SO very soft and hydrated, without using additional moisturizer (and for me, this is truly a miracle). My makeup glided on and looked perfect. After a week, the results are great. My fine lines aren't gone, but c'mon, it's only been a week. I'll review again in a few weeks to update. But so far, I'd repurchase even if it did nothing for wrinkles just because of how my skin looks and FEELS.

Although I don't currently use this on my face (product junkie... trying out some other things!) for a while this was part of my evening regimen for my face, jaw and neck. I'm not concerned with treatment of deep wrinkles yet, but this serum noticeably smoothed and plumped the fine lines underneath the outer corners of my eyes. It also helped with those dreaded neck lines. Overall, it made my skin smoother and brighter, and seemed to reduce breakouts. Some more evidence for me that it works: half a year ago, I started applying this serum to this deep wrinkle at the top of each knee (odd experiment, but I figured why not?) Since then, these wrinkles have become undeniably, noticeably less pronounced!
I find the scent pleasant in a typical face product way; the serum itself is lightweight and sinks in easily. I do usually need to apply some moisturizer after it around my eye area and on any dry patches.
Age: 44-55 Skin: Very Oily, Fair-Medium Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue
I have been using this product nightly for 2 weeks now, on my oily, large pored and lightly lined face and I DO see differences! My skin feels smoother and some light discolourations appear to be disappearing. Previously, I had used Retin-A Micro, but my sensitive skin did not bear it well, even using only up to once a week. RoC Retinol Correction serum has a very silky feel to it, and it applies well. Only a few dabs are needed for cheeks, chin and forehead, which means that despite the higher price, it will in fact be a value in my arsenal of face products.
UPDATE: I've only been using this product for 2 weeks, but I am feeling a difference in the smoothness of my skin. I've never had a product work so quickly! I'm also happy that the product has not caused any acne or clogged pores. Wonderful product!

Okay so I am a Clarins and Christian Dior kind of girl but I thought I would try something cheaper for a change ,given the economy right now. This is also the first retinol based treatment I have ever used.
This is only my first week trying this out ( at night ) .
However, I have to say, that I saw an improvement from day one- morning after. My skin was smoother and and less blotchy in the morning. Will edit as needed as I carry on with this and let y'all know !
So far ,so good and no adverse skin reactions.
UPDATE 9 May 2008 - this is a good product. My skin is smoother, lines are less and my skin looks fresher in general - like I slept really well.Only using this at night under moisturiser.
You must use sunscreen during the day if you use this product at all. Recommended !

This is exactly like the neutrogena serum. If I had known it had the same maple syrup smell and stickiness, I never would have bought this. I have tried this for a week now, and the breakouts are just too much. I think I will try to return this. The roc lotion I used to use never broke me out, but there is something in this serum. I think I will stick with the bha's and aha's. This was so expensive, I hope they take it back.
Age: 56 & Over Skin: Dry, Medium Hair: Other Eyes: Brown
At first I loved this product and thought the smell was pleasant. After a few days however it caused my skin to both break out and become excessively dry even with my best long time deep moisturizer. The smell also began to bother me. I quit using it for a couple of weeks and then tried again. I had the same results. I plan on trying to use it up by applying to my hands and so far it has not irritated the skin on my hands. It's disappointing since it was rather expensive for a drug store item.

Irritated my sensitive skin.

Oh my. This product is a total surprise. I bought it mainly because I had heard good things about RoC and also on the offchance that it may make my fine lines look less noticeable. I have been using this for one week now and even after one application I could see such an improvement in my skin! I apply this after cleansing at night, and I don't put a moisturizer over it. My skin feels silky and soft with just the serum on and I don't think adding any more products would make it feel any better. I use this all over my forehead, around my eyes and also around my mouth (no lines there yet, but might as well pre-empt any!) It has caused a little redness and flaking, and also some mild irritation but I was used to this from other retinol products used before. I woke up the morning after using this for the first time with clear bright skin, fine lines plumped up, looking like I had just had some sort of facelift. This does sound ridiculous, but I was shocked when I looked in the mirror. I had been using L'Oreal's Skin Genesis serum (which took a couple of weeks to show improvement) but this RoC serum gave almost immediate results. I can't say that my lines have totally disappeared, the ones on my forehead are drastically reduced. The fine lines around my eyes though have had an amazing improvement. No more crinkly eyes! Some makeup made these look worse, but I can wear any makeup now without looking years older. My skin tone also seems to be a lot more even, and brighter too. This review does sound over-dramatic but I seriously have never used a product that gave such good results. I will update in a week or two to see if these results last. **UPDATE** So after using this for a month, I am extremely pleased with the results. My skin did get a little flaky during the first couple of weeks, but now my skin is looking really good. Even though this is a serum and not marketed as a moisturizer, I find that it moisturizes really well and don't use a separate product over the top of this. This still stings a little upon application (and if like me you have any eczema, DO NOT get this stuff anywhere near it) but this only lasts for a few seconds. I would highly recommend this product and will continue to purchase.

the first time i tried it, the result was good. my skin looked clear and smooth. but then the old problems came back and no matter how many times i apply this serum - it produces no visible improvements.
it too bad, as i like using this serum. it feels good applying and does not irritate very sensitive skin, even around eyes. i like the consistency and a cute golden bottle, but just cannot justify spending $22 (without tax) on a product that does so little.

I wanted to like this product, I really did. Problem is, it broke me out, badly. At first I attributed this to purging since I figured the retinol was drawing the impurities to the surface, but this seemed a little suspicious because prior to using this serum I had been using Neutrogena's Anti Wrinkle Intensive Night Cream, another retinol product. In addition, I use Differin on my more acne-prone areas. I continued to use the serum anyway in the hopes that things would get better, but to no avail. Morning after morning I would wake up with a new blemish. I finally gave up. I am starting up with Green Cream Level 3 which has a measurable amount of retinol and after one night of using that, a blemish did not appear the next morning. Also, I use Neutrogena Anti Wrinkle Night when I do not use the Green Cream. I think that either the fragrance or the safflower seed oil in this made me breakout, not the retinol. I have since started using this on my neck to get rid of the rings I have and it has done an excellent job of that without drying my neck. I just can't use this on my face.

Wow, I am impressed. Let me start by saying that I love using products with retinoids to keep my skin tone clear as well as to reduce/prevent fine lines and wrinkles. In the past, I have used Skinceuticals' retinol cream (quite good; former HG), Neutrogena's (decent), and Differin (somewhere between the previous two). So I didn't think twice when I bought this stuff, smeared it on my skin, and went to bed.
Well, the very next morning I woke up with a blemish -- and not just any blemish, a cyst, which I hadn't for ages (thanks to using retinoids). At first I was annoyed, thinking that I'd just dropped $20 on a product that broke me out. I continued using it nightly, though, knowing that skin products can frequently make your skin worse before it gets better. Well, that has certainly been the case for me. The cyst is nearly gone (along with any other faint marks that may have been lingering on my face) and the fine lines just beginning to develop around my eyes I swear have gotten better.
Bottom line: this stuff really works. It was able to 'pull' impurities out of my skin that other, high-end/prescription products were not able to do, and now my skin is really beautiful. Amazingly, this product doesn't dry up my skin a bit, either (ahem, Retin-A & Differin). Now eager to try other products from this brand -- I'm impressed!!!

I bought this over ebay philippines and my problem is where Im going to buy my next bottle!! Im a beauty junkie but so far, this product is the only one that was able to take the dark discoloration under my lips away! it makes my skin nicer over all, but my freckles are still there but i dont think this will work on that though...but im seeing subtle changes, my skin is more smoother...btw, im 31 and dont have any problems except for a few starting lines and my freckles...this stuff evened out my yellowish toned skin too...i recommend it!! Just hope i can find it again here after my bottle is gone!

Although I am only 27 years old and don't have visible wrinkles, I started using this product ever since I discovered that Retinol doesn't only benefit wrinkles. I have extremely acne prone skin, even after a round of Accutane. After the accutane, my face still breaks out with the occasional acne and my upper arm, of all places, started breaking out badly. I've never had problems with my upper arm and I can only blame the Accutane. I got the idea to use this for acne because an acne kit I previously bought included a retinol cream, which made me start thinking. I decided to try this retinol serum on my upper arms as well as my face and it has done wonders. It has completely smoothed out my arms, the acne is disappearing and so it the ugly scars it left behind. As for my face, it makes my skin glow. I knew it was working when I bumped into somebody I haven't seen in a year and she said my skin was gorgeous and had a glow about it. I wish this serum was bigger since it is about $20 for only a 1oz but since it works so great I will keep buying!
