i simply adore this palette. its the holy grail of neutrals and you can get them to pop too. So many great shades! When someone asks me for the best basic browns, i say 'BB chocolate' unfortunately, its impposible to find now. I love it!!

I think I would agree with the other reviewers that were disappointed with this palette if I was expecting somehting eye-popping from this palette. Looking at it, reading the description, taking it home and using it, I am impressed and amazed at it. This palette does exactly what BB intended it to be used for. A nice neutral/work/light everyday (glammed up for evenings) look. *shrug* Yeah the colors may be a little "boring" but did you really look at it and expect it to be more?

I find the combinations to be spot on and seriously, if you rock the neutrals, you can go a long way with this palette. I can use this on brides to father of the brides, it is that versatile. :) Don't look down on it just cuz the colors aren't awe-inspiring. ;) It's a solid set and gets the most bang for my buck. woot!

if you're a girl who likes shimmery stuff, just dont go near this. its really more matte on eyes (even tho there are shimmerwash shadows) and its really something that's brown and neutral so if that's what you're into then yeah go for it. otherwise just stay away.

i'm neutral on it because i guess if its your cup of tea then its a palette you'd like esp since its got a brush and you get a pretty good amt of product for the price. but its not my cup of tea so i dont like it.

normally, i love bb... but this palette was quite disappointing. i couldn't get any of the shades to show up, except for the darkest three... and they showed up muddy. one of those three is very similar to bb blonde, which i already have. there are wayyy better neutral palettes out there. sure, maybe they'd have a couple shades less, but the ones in the bb palette didn't even show up on the skin anyways. save ur money on this one!

Wow, I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who wasn't wowed by this palette, I was beginning to feel like a BB traitor! Like many other reviewers, I too was really looking forward to this palette. First of all, it's "chocolate", and being a chocoholic and a big fan of neutrals and browns I knew I would have to have it. Secondly, I LOVE Bobbi Brown and have many other BB eye singles, duos, and palettes and expected this one to exceed those in versatility and value. Unfortunately, after playing with it for several weeks, I found myself disappointed. The shadows do not pack the usual punch I have come to expect from BB. They are sheer, repetitive, and basically allow you to make one neutral eye look - from seven shadows. I'm sorry, but with seven shadows, I expect to get AT LEAST three different looks - a sheer neutral daytime look, a more made-up everyday look, and a smoky evening-out look. Seriously folks, the lighter shades were all so similar (some of which, like the warm sheer gold shade, I would probably never wear), and the darkest shade was nowhere near as dark as I like for lining and contour purposes. At $48 I think the average person would be better off buying two really nice BB singles (might I suggest Bone, Beige and/or Chocolate Shimmerwashes?), or buying a more versatile palette that offers more varied combinations (Tarte A-List or LORAC Snake Charmer, anyone?). Sorry Bobbi, I'm sad to say, this one went back.

Just like everyone else I was lusting after this palette because it sounds so darn good! The palette itself is just gorgeous. The case is chocolate brown and inside are 7 of the most beautiful looking colours in very warm tones. There's a matte bone colour called "BONE"! that is for under the brows. The last colour "Chocolate" is a matte chocolate colour perfect for lining. In between are various warm but fairly light colours (some shimmery) for the lid and crease but unfortunately they are just way too sheer so they barely show up!

For this amount of money the colours need to be more pigmented.

This was a HUGE disappointed just like the Nude on Nude Shimmer wash palette.

This thing is a work of art. The compact color looks like a chocolate bar and the seven colors inside are just gorgeous, ranging from matte to shimmer to matte. Light to dark. Comes with a dual ended e/s-e/l brush. Overall very expensive but worth it. Quality product. Very wearable.

Like many other reviewers, I was seduced by this all-neutral palette. I, for one, love neutrals, but never see many all neutral palettes, so I promptly purchased this product.

I've never tried BB eyeshadows before, and overall, I'm not really wowed. The shadows are VERY soft, not very pigmented at all. They look nice, but definitely only for day, as these would never show up in a dark restaurant or what have you for night time.

I'm a fan of very soft eyelooks but these may be too subtle even for me. I prefer buildable shades that you can make look strong or soft, but no matter how much color I pack onto my makeup brushes, I only get very sheer color with these.

As for the colors themselves, they are positively gorgeous-- too bad they're not just a LITTLE bolder on the skin.

I bought into the hype from magazines when I purchased this palette because I needed some more neutral shades and this has several colors to choose from. I am NC43. Most of the shades are VERY MUTED They were recommeneded for women of color but I really prefer more intense browns like some of the colors offered by MAC and Stilla. The shimmers are the best. On my darker skin the Cacao Shimmer Wash and the Chocolate Truffle Shimmer Wash work well as lid colors, In the crease, I use Stone or Chocolate. Chocolate looks like mud and I can't imagine using it as a lid color. It could make a good liner. The Caramel Toffe Shmmer wash and Frappe make good highlighting colors. Bone doesn't show up well on me at all. BB could have salvaged this palette had she put in a bronze color or something with a deeper hue to balance out the muted shades.

Overall, this palette is overrated and overpriced. Don't be misled by pictures on the BB website, the shades are not nearly as intense as they appear online at the BB website.

These are the first BB eyeshadows I have tried and thus far I an unimpressed. I have many BB lipsticks and a couple of blushes but if these are any indication of the regular shadows, I will pass in the future.

I checked "yes" that I'd buy it again, but its limited edition, so its almost impossible. Anyway, LOVE IT. Theres 7 colors, with a nice range of browns. 3 of them are shimmers, 4 are mattes. The shimmers are just right (I hate glittery shadows). Theres enough variation that you can use this for normal everyday makeup, or for smokey looks. The brush that comes with it is surprisingly decent for a compact brush, but small enough to control detail. The mirror is huge, the whole length of the palette. The price is a bit steep, $48. But its a nice way to get a ton of browns all in one place. I cant find any place online that ISNT sold out of these, except ebay, which is totally silly because these are supposed to be "Fall" colors, and yet they're sold out in mid-july. Shame on them, they should have made more. Anyway, the shadows are lovely, and its great that the compact reminds me of a hershey bar.

This pallette is really nice. . . gorgeous shimmery and matte eyeshadows in flattering neutrals. I know I'll use it quite a bit, but the $48 price tag was a bit hard to swallow. However, as a makeup/beauty product addict-I couldn't resist. Given that it is a limited edition pallette, I would recommend it to anyone who needs new eye shadows. . . today is my first day wearing some of the shades, but given previous experiencw with BB shadows, I am confident that they will wear well.

I'm fairly new to BB, till I got this palette, i only had a few lip products of hers. I've wanted to try her shadows though, and what better way to try them than to buy a palette! It's a beautiful palette, especially for me since I love shimmery e/s, but am starting to get into mattes, so with this I can try both. Before I bought it, I had a makeover with it, and the MA used the Chocolate shimmer gel e/l, which looked lovely with it, however, I am using my Stila Espresso e/s line and it looks great with it. The price is a little on the expensive side, but you do get 7 e/s in it, so I would say it's worth it, unless you already have alot of neautrals. What I like best about this palette is that I can mix and match the e/s and always get a polished, classic look. I am really looking forward to trying more of BB. (NW20-25, blue-green eyes, cool toned)

I'm an MMM with brown eyes and hair - I always wear neutral shadows and really like this palette because I can use every color in it. If you're a fan of brighter colors, this probably isn't the combination for you, but anyone who likes a natural look and doesn't already own thousands of browns/beiges should get this. I don't love the packaging - it's supposed to resemble a chocolate bar, but I think it looks cheap and the one I got doesn't close very tightly. The palette has a decent mix of matte and shimmer wash and a good variety of shades. I tend to use black or dark, dark brown to line, so I'm only planning to use these as eye shadow. They're not too pigmented, so it's easy to get a subtle wash of color (or to build up for a more dramatic look). Overall, good quality and a nice variety of neutral shades.

Update: I almost never use this palette - minus one lippie since I'm a creature of habit and should be reaching for it all the time.

I was originally seduced into buying this palette b/c I thought the packaging was just too cute! It was also introduced in the middle of July, and I was so over summer's sweltering heat and humidity, that a peek of Bobbi Brown's Fall palette was as refreshing to me as a cool fall breeze. I saw the rich chocolate browns of the collection, and I was on my way! I got the eye palette home, and was surprised to see how wearable the colors are. Even in the dog days of summer, I was able to put together several looks, that were "seasonally appropriate". The various shades of bone, caramel, taupe and brown are incredibly blendable and flattering. There is also a mix of matte versus shimmer shades to play with as well. The enclosed brush worked great for application and blending, and the inside mirror was nice and large. I really thought I was going to regret this impulse purchase, but I am getting alot of use out of it already. I cannot wait until the cooler weather arrives, and I can pair it with some deeper cheek and lip colors.

I so wanted to like this palette. After seeing the pic on the boards it looked so pretty! I broke down and ordered it and just stared at it for awhile. When I finally tested the colors they weren't that spectacular- just kind of eh. The brush it came with absolutely is worthless and the staying power wasn't that great, even with my UD PP. There are much better palettes out there that are less expensive with the same color combinations. Save your money!

At first, I was skeptical about this product since, like most BB products, they're always hit/miss. When I tried this one on the counter, it was ok, but I'm liking it more and more now.

I believe the ladies below have described the color/texture, etc. perfectly. All I can add is that this palette is not just *browns*, but surprisingly nice variations of naturals: sparkling golden nude, shimmery pinky beige, neutral taupes, camel, tan, and of course.. delectable chocolate browns. If you're looking for something spectacular and edgy, you won't find it here, but if you're looking for an understated, polished, everyday look, you won't be dissapointed :-)

I just bought this from Gloss.com. I've been looking for a neutral palette for a long time. I work in the medical profession, so understated is my work face. This palette has everything I need to keep it neutral but to add a touch of pizazz. I'll probably have it for years but I would buy it again if I ever lost, or finished it. Another hit from BB.

Wonderful product!! I knew the moment I saw it, I had to have it and I am not disappointed. The colors are perfect together for a natural every day look and you can do so much with it. I only wish the package was black like the rest of her products but likewise, I am very very happy with this. It is an essential for everyones cosmetic bag!

I had to have this one so I ordered from BB. I love it. I am a huge fan of neutrals and palettes. I have her nude on nude palette and her nude on nude shimmer one as well as this one just tops it off. I can create virtually every look I need with these three palettes and my Stila Barefoot Contessa and Holly-go-lightly ::singing at the top of my lungs:: HOLY GRAIL!

I am not heavy into eye makeup and I prefer a very natural look and with my coloring (MAC C5/6) this palette is perfect. I don't care for shimmer and always gravitate towards matte neutrals. I don't do smoky or sultry - I need a basic shadow from work until dinner/opera, etc and this is the ticket. The colors are gorgeous in the packaging as well as when you apply - I use my BB bronze shimmer gel liner on top of the chocolate powder (that can be used as a liner) for a nice POP.

This is a great palette for those who don't like to look as if they have on makeup (I am one). Very subtle shading that makes people take a second look.

(Please click on 'Continued' at the bottom to see the paragraphed version of review.) Although I like this palette, I don't LOVE it. The packaging is great, IMO (reminds me of a chocolate candy bar!); the brush & mirror are great; & the 7 shadows for $48 are great...HOWEVER, it's lacking in a few key areas.I'd like the shadows to be a pinch more intense. I prefer to use a light hand to get a sheer effect, rather than have the shadow sheer right off the bat. You get a bit more versatility that way. Trying to build this palette into an intense look takes some work. Also, this palette is lacking a decent highlighting shade. Those with very tan to dark skin won't have a problem finding a highlighter (Caramel Toffee Shimmer Wash or Champagne Truffle Shimmer Wash), but for very pale to medium skintones, forget it! You have to add another shadow to get your highlight. Something like MAC Nylon would've been perfect. I like to add a touch of a very pale shimmery color to inner corners & on the center of the lid to add dimension & create a little drama. I'm NW20/25 in summer & the palest colors in the palette disappear into my skin, rather than highlight.Since I'm a MAC e/s freak, I'll give descriptions of the palette colors with similar (just close; not exact!) MAC shades, as well as ideas for placement.BONE: Like a deeper version of MAC Vanilla. Good to use as a wash before building your eye look. Creates the perfect 'slip' so following shadows don't grab & streak. This color doesn't show up on me at all; it's just a 'retexturizer/primer' of sorts.CARAMEL TOFFEE Shimmer Wash: Like a less intense, slightly more yellow version of MAC Bagatelle. Gives a subtle highlight to the browbone, or OK as a lid color.FRAPPE: Like a sheer, matte version of MAC Era. Good for the crease for a 'no makeup' makeup look (on pale/light skin.) Creates 'shadow' in the true sense of the word; defines the eye with no perceptible color.CHAMPAGNE TRUFFLE Shimmer Wash: Like a weaker version of MAC All That Glitters. Good either on the lid with a deeper shade in the crease, or wear it in the crease with a deeper shade on lid for a smoky eye.CACAO Shimmer Wash: A weaker version of MAC Patina & Bronze mixed together. A fairly versatile shade. Try on lid with Chocolate in the crease for a smoky eye, or wear in crease with a lighter shade on lid. Can be used as a subtle liner, too.STONE: In Between MAC Quarry & Bark. Makes a good crease shade or subtle liner.CHOCOLATE: Similar to MAC Mystery. Good on the lid for a smoky eye; in the crease; or as a liner.Overall, this palette is good for those who crave neutrals & an easy, no-fuss look. If you work in a very conservative environment or hate colorful eyes, this palette is for you. If you live for dramatic eye looks, skip this palette. In my opinion (as a makeup artist), this palette is lacking that pale shimmery highlighter & I'd like to see a bit more gradation between shadows. Some of them are too close to the next once applied to skin. For travel, I'd just have to bring along a few more colors to complete this palette's usability, when 7 colors really should be plenty in itself.
