I am SO happy I purchased one of these empty palettes! My MAC pans fit perfectly in this, so I can save money both by purchasing the refill shadows and not having to buy an expensive MAC palette. This is ONE DOLLAR, so it's in everyone's price range. I'm also very impressed by how sleek the packaging is... It's a sturdy plastic in an ivory shade with a mirror on the inside. I can't wait to get more of these.

i absolutely LOVE THIS ! the compact is only 1 dollar, so i figured i couldnt go wrong with it being just 1 dollar! I was right! The compact is nice and white, and looks very neat and nice. when holding it, it has a nice weight. it's not heavy, but it isnt light as air. its great. it clicks open, and clicks closed. it holds 4 pans of ELF shadow (and i've heard that it holds MAC, too!) and it's all-around amazing and very nice, especially for just a dollar! I may use it for MAC, but i might prefer to buy the actual MAC empty palette for the MAC shadows! but this is a great purchase, really. it's worth it!

These compacts are absolutely great for those who have purchased the Elf Element singles as well as single Mac shadows, Hot Pots from coastalscents or any 28mm pan eyeshadow or pigment or blush etc.
PRICE/AVAILABILITY- These custom palettes can be found under the Element section on the ELF website. I have also seen them at Target & Sears Grand stores. It will depend on your area & where Elf products are sold locally. The price is uninamously $1! Yes $1!! compared to say Mac where you would pay 10x as much at least and also way more from any other place. SOOOO it may not say Mac which is what you pay for i guess but Its definitely a STEAL!
PACKAGING- these are a custom palette meaning it comes empty. This is an ivory opalscent snap shut compact. There is a silverish metallic ELF ELEMENT logo on front middle which is nearly invisible in some lighting. its def simple & chic. nothing garrish or crazy. Very pretty. then on back its plain. Then inside- there is a full sized mirror on opening lid which is GREAT! then the bottom compact itself is where you will be able to place your pans. There is four equal circular shapes and what i love most is that with each circle there is a slight divet or dip that allows easy access or placing or taking out each pan. So no worries about it being stuck & having to pry it out with a safety pin. These holes will hold Mac single shadows. 28mm pans. BUT the big catch is this is NOT MAGNETIC!! so you will have to either go without or i have added magnet to each shadow as well as in the pan/circle. You could possibly take the actual pan where the holes are placed. Im sure with a butter knife that insert would come out, just be careful. i havent tried that yet but if you would, im sure if would hold then 9 shadows inside of 4 but then it may not look so neat & pretty. These holes will keep your shadows/pigments/blushes/glosses/lipsticks all safely secure. this compact is sturdy hard plastic! i have brought these on vacation & traveled and they have not cracked or broken or chipped at all!
for real- these are amazing- they are affordable i mean who cant afford $1!!! these are great for those who want somewhere to place your pressed pans that looks pretty and i own 3 and plan to press pigments soon so i may be picking up some depending on how pressing goes :)

This was a dollar, and you get a great compact with a huuuge mirror for a compact! The packaging is so cute. The shadows that go in are kind of hit and miss, but I'd even buy this just for the mirror.

The compact is great, the shadows no, but the holder itself was very nice. Good latch so I know it would stay closed if tossed in a makeup bag or purse. The applicator that comes with it is ridiculous, but isn't every tiny applicator that comes with makeup? It's easy to pull out and change the colors, yet they stay in when they should (magnets).
Over all, if you use a brand of makeup that would fit in this little compact I say do it, it's great!

This compact is cute and convenient. Unfortunately, the separate eyeshadows do not have enough pigment to make me feel satisfied.

These are great!!! At least two thirds of them are. Quality control issue YES! Great value YES! Oversized mirror YES! I bought twelve of these and three latch tightly, six latch loosely and three don't latch shut at all. Even though some don't latch they still stay shut pretty well. I was hoping to fit my LA FEMME blushes and eyeshadows in them but they are way too big so I popped the dividers out and used double stick tape. First tape or glue down the metal mirror thingy on the bottom of the compact then tape the pans in. I could only fit two pans of makeup into one compact but thats okay :) I am still happy with them overall.

These are phenomenal if you depot your MAC shadows. The quality is so much better than what you'd expect for $1. I've had the same compact last me over 4+ years. I would buy this over the expensive MAC 4-palette because ELF includes a good mirror. I toss the applicator that is included, though. That is pure junk.

These are great! I bought 4 because I was pressing my pigments and needed something to put them in. MAC palettes are a bit too expensive, and I thought these were perfect. If you don't like the E.L.F. logo, you can cover it with a sticker, or even spray paint them entirely if you wanted. It holds 4 pans (26mm) and has a small brush inside. You can't go wrong with this palette because it's only $1! E.L.F. even sells eyeshadow and blush in single pan form so you can buy those and fill up these palettes.

I will buy these over and over again for my MAC shadows. Rather than buying a palette straight from MAC, I'll just use these as they fit MAC shadows perfectly. Though, I'm sure that when my MAC shadow collection begins to become overwhelmingly, I might consider investing in a bigger palette. One of the compacts I received came a little unhinged, but nothing I couldn't deal with. A great buy!! Especially if you're just starting out with makeup. And seeing ways other people used theirs, I have alot more ideas now =)

This palette is well worth the $1 you'll spend! I pry out the plastic divider and glue down the metal plate. Then I depot other eyeshadow brands and use the ELF palette to make them more portable. I got tired of my UD Naked palette being so big, so I used a nail file to pry out each of the colors and put them in the elf palette. I will post pictures, but they really fit so well! I was able to use all of them except the last two (gray and black). I put those in another palette. Now I can take the Naked palette with me, anywhere! Love this and buy it in multiples.

This is a great inexpensive and sturdy palette. I super glued the metal plate and removed the divider. I use it to hold a few La Femme blushes and/or eye shadows.

These little things are a great find. As everyone has said, they make perfect MAC quads, but with differently shaped singles I have, I just pop out the insert and stick the magnetic card down with a drop of glue at each corner.
The mirror is handy, but the best thing about these quads (besides the price) is that they're white, so you can write on the cover with a Sharpie to identify what's inside.

These pearl white mirrored empty palettes are awesome. Only $1 each! I found them in person at Target so I didn't have to pay anything for shipping. You can't buy anything for a dollar these days! Boy, I'm cheap.
I wasn't aways this way. I did the Stila thing like a baller where I spent about $15 for an ugly empty plastic silver case... it seemed like a good idea at the time. The new me doesn't like spending much to buy meta-clutter for my clutter, even if it's a hobby. I had never depotted my MAC eyeshadows before because I wanted them to have a proper container. I did the CD case project with my NARS makeup out of necessity (horrible disintegrating goo packaging!) and it left a bad taste in my mouth. It looks dumb and not very protected. I am so glad I found these. They fit MAC/Jane/Milani/Claire's/Smashbox/Lorac and more... It looks like other MUA'ers have even removed the slots to fit different shaped e/s in the palette. If I can find more I might move my NARS into them.I think the quality is great. I like the white color and even that it was a little bit "eh" looking because it inspired me to make them gorgeous with my Sailor Moon transfers. :-D Without the decoration they would just say "E.L.F elements" which isn't offensive or anything. This is one of my favorite things that I've purchased all year!

I'd buy this over and over again. For a buck, this is super cheap and great for on the go. You can fit other brand eyeshadows in there and they're much cheaper than other quad palettes. The eyeshadow applicator that it comes with can get a little annoying since I don't use it so I prefer to take it out. The mirror is big. I'd definitely go and pick one up if you want an eyeshadow quad but don't want to spend a lot.
