Let the lamentations begin - Sephora is discontinuing this product both online and in the shops.
I used 01, about as light as I would go, a light, luminous coverage, and wanted to get another - but Sephora is not selling it anymore.
From Sephora:
""Make Up For Ever Liquid Lift Foundation has been discontinued on our website as well as our stores. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience. The Make Up For Ever HD Foundation has a similar texture which is slightly thicker but not heavy in texture. The HD Foundation does offer more coverage, and while it does help to minimize imperfections such as lines and pores, the HD Foundation does a better job of soaking up excess oil, but yet is still hydrating and does not sink into lines.
Here are some of the key ingredients of this foundation, which is designed to photograph flawlessly and look like skin in all lighting conditions.
-Relipidium: Moisturizes the skin (+46% after 4 hours).
-Fucogel: Forms a microfilm that prevents dehydration and protects against external aggression.
-Sericite: Enables rays of light to spread more widely, intensifying the radiance of the complexion.
This is their most cutting edge formula, so you may find that you enjoy this even more than the Liquid Lift Foundation.""
MUFE HD foundation is the newer one. I'm trying it out: the palest one (110) was too pale on me (Nicole Kidman Kabuki shade) ; 115, (pink undertone) or 117 (yellow undertone) were closer. Lots of colors on the HD - I'd suggest trying it in the shop with sample before buying.
Revision as of Nov 2012 :
Sephora does seem to have relisted this as a "new" product!
Let the rejoicing begin!

I just started using this foundation. So far so good. I wear No. 3 I buff it on with M.A.C. brush 180 and set it with M.A.C. sheer select pressed powder NC30 using M.A.C brush 150.

I got this as a gift from my auntie, who uses it religiously, however it isn't really my thíng.
I squirted and this enormous glop of foundation landed in my hand, I dont use much so thats a problem, I ended up spreading the excess on my arm.
Okay, once it was on my face it felt like I'd spread some kind of paste across my whole face, really uncomfortable ( i dont use foundation really) It made me kinda shiny-not dewy. Next time i tried it I mixed it with a make up for ever makeup base, high beam and moisturizer, my usual method and it worked like a charm. flawless skin with a glow.
so if you're willing to tweak it a bit, i think it would be a great foundation!

It's not the cheapest foundation, but it feels the least mask like. I was turned onto Revlon's ColourStay foundation when I was working on a movie. The makeup artist mixed it with some liquid M.A.C stuff to get the right colour, but I found I liked the ColourStay just by itself (not a huge fan of M.A.C anymore). The only thing was that I could really "feel it" when it was on my skin. Liquid Lift's coverage isn't as heavy/matte as Revlon's, but it feels a lot lighter on my skin and leaves a more natural, dewy look (Note: dewy, not SHINY or SPARKLEY), and a little goes a long way with this product. I use the flat brush to paint it on and a year later the bottle is still half full. I find this foundation particularly good for dry skin. The bottle could be improved though. It's hard to know what shade you have because there's no info on the bottle. Makes it hard to remember for re-purchase especially if this stuff lasts as long as it does.

The coverage is good but the smell is terrible. It's very strong and doesn't go away immediately. That's one of the drawbacks of this foundation. The color is ok but too muddy for my yellow-undertone skin. I'm a NC40 and I use #4. However, it's great for my dry skin. If you find a foundation match and don't mind the scent, then buy this if you have dry skin.

I really like this. Let me preface this review by saying that I hate the look of obvious makeup--where you can spot foundation on a woman's 10 feet away. When I bought this product, I was looking for something that could do double-duty as a concealer, and this product works perfectly for that. I agree with other reviewers re smell--very heavey smell. I learned about this brand when I was a bridesmaid and was made up a very in-demand makeup artist.
It is expensive but a little bit goes a long way. I cannot remember but I think I bought shade #2.

I love MUFE foundations! Liquid Lift is close to HG. This foundation offers medium coverage and a dewy, natural finish.
Pros: 1) Most importantly, LL has not broken out my combination skin. 2) I find that my concealer applies more smoothly and seamlessly over this foundation than any other. 3) I absolutely adore the finish. Very natural and pretty - makes my skin look dewy and believable, definitely not heavily-made up or greasy. 4) Finally! A great color match (NC25-30, Asian, #10 is my color).
Cons:1) The texture/finish is a bit TOO moist for me; I wish it was a little drier. I definitely need to set with a powder else it's sticky city. 2) This could definitely be cheaper. $41?? Ouch. 3) How transportation-unfriendly can packaging get? The heavy glass pump bottle is nice for my countertop, but risky for travel.
Other notes: This has a somewhat heavy, flowery scent during application that some may dislike; it doesn't bother me. Oil control is decent, but not stellar - I imagine this to be great for dry skintypes, but not for very oily ones.
Overall, I love this foundation. My makeup collection would feel sad and incomplete without Liquid Lift. Give it a shot!

A few years ago, I started experiencing dry skin. Before then, my skin was oily. When it was oily, I used Make Up For Ever's Mat foundation and it worked great. However, when my skin changed and became dry, this wouldn't work anymore. I started using the Liquid Lift foundation since it was recommended for dry skin. It works great! It makes my skin look great. My pores look smaller and it doesn't settle into the fine lines on my face. It makes my skin feel great, not tight. Love it!!

My mom gave me a couple of samples of this foundation, and I really loved it so much that I went out and bought it. I was using Clinique Superfit foundation in Creamwhip, and I really didn't like how it looked dry and unnatural.
I purchased this foundation in shade No. 9. The samples my mom gave me were in shade No. 1. Both looked nice and blended naturally with my skin tone, but I believe No. 9 has more of a yellow tone. I like No. 1 because it doesn't have a lot of pink in it. It's lighter than No. 9, but I decided to go darker with No. 9 instead.
This foundation has medium coverage, and it glides onto my face like a second skin. This foundation looks very natural, and compared to the other foundations that I've used before I don't look made-up even with the medium coverage. I like how it looks moist and dewey without looking greasy. This foundation photographs well also. My face looked natural and not greasy in pictures.
This foundation has not made me break out which is a plus also.

This foundation was okay but for the money i expected a lot more. I was not impressed by the coverage or the shades. It was difficult for me to find a shade that matched my skin tone i will admit that being very pale i have to be pretty picky but still i've seen from other reviews that i wasn't the only person less than impressed by their shades

a few months ago i started the ever so painful search for the perfect foundation. because of my dry skin liquid is a must, as well i have extremely sensitive skin... my former HG lancome served me well for years until i started to get rashes from them :( ... anyways so i tried MUFE for the first time and I am pleasantly surprised! as many others say the shades are odd, i understand that the numbers and the cool and warm shades etc dont all go in order... anyways its best to have a SA help you if possible ... and it is possible you wont find a shade even still but if you do you will find medium coverage, kinda "glowy", good moisture for your skin (test it out you wont believe how much you can play around with this stuff without your skin soaking it in)... i have used it for weeks and not broken out at all ... its not a total HG because of the shades but its pretty darn close

I am having considerable trouble finding a shade match in this foundation. I wear shade 20 in MUFE's face & body foundation, a good match and a nice product. I wanted to branch out within this line, but I am getting nowhere fast with the shades, and, I am not completely in love with how this performs and looks on my skin. First, I tried shade 10 in Liquid lift, "soft beige", which was suggested over the phone by a MUFE associate from their NYC store. She said it would be a great match to my shade 20 in F&B. Shade 10 in the liquid lift has a slight peach undertone that my F&B foundation does not have on me. I am a NC15, and wear neutral-toned foundations--shade 10 just does not fit the bill here. It is also slightly too dark for me. So I called a Sephora store that carries MUFE. I told them that I need a shade one lighter than shade 10. They recommended ivory 9. Ivory 9 isn't really lighter, but it is more yellow and slightly less peach. It too does not match very well. Neither shades go on the same as they appear in the bottle. Shade 10 actually matches my F&B shade 20 when the bottles are held side by side. However, liquid lift 10 takes on that peach tone when applied and applies slightly darker than it appears in the bottle. Shade 9 is considerably yellow in the bottle and applies slightly lighter than how it looks in the bottle. As far as performance, liquid lift clings to any dry skin, and any hair on my face. I wasn't expecting this--the clinging happens even with moisturizer underneath. It is a heavy, thick foundation and takes effort to blend. In addition, I don't feel that it does anything to make my skin look younger or more refreshed. It does, however, give a dewy appearance, and my family really liked how this looked on me; they liked the dewy aspect and how it looks from a distance. Up close, however, every flaw on my face was still there. I want a foundation to provide a glow, and to blur imperfections. Basically, I think I wanted the liquid lift foundation to do what the face & body foundation does for me--only with more moisture. I am also perplexed at the coloring/numbering system and lack of a shade (so far, at least) for my NC15 skin. Being that the shades I've tried both lean towards peachy on me, I wonder if I need to try a shade that appears more pink or cool-toned in this line. I will update as, and if, I experiment further. I would highly recommend testing this foundation in person if you have access to this line in a local store.

Pros- Really, really beautiful finish - semi matte but not at all dry looking, very pigmented so little is required for good, even coverage, reasonable color selection, pump bottle. Cons - stinky grandma perfume smell, feels a little mask-y on, probably because of the 'lifting' quality. I've gotten used to the featherlight feel of my SB compact foundation so this isn't as comfortable. But it looks so good I'm going to work with it.
Skintype - dry/sensitive; NC25-30/Chanel Shell - MUFE shade #3 is a good match.

Up till now I've been trying LM Silk Creme Foundation, BB Moisture Rich, Paula's Choice All Bases Covered Foundation and now this one. Still two more to go: Clinique Repairwear and La Prairie Skin Caviar Foundation. On this one: feels very smooth, gives a natural coverage, great packageing (pump) and best of all an almost perfect match to my very pale, cooltoned skin! #11 Pink Porcelain is a close match with no yellow at all. This is the lightest cool-toned colour. It is definately a cool colour so not for warmtoned girls. #01 Porcelain is a tad darker and warmer. As for warmtoned colours: #09 Ivory is way lighter and more towards neutral than #02 Ivory. Ok, colour is great, texture is really nice, it's not drying, coverage is not too heavy, I experienced no breakouts yet but that smell!! YUCK!! I can't stand obviously fragranced makeup/skincare at all and this one smells really, really bad. It reminds me of cheap plastic dolls. I'm afraid I can't get used to it so I won't repurchase this one despite the benefits. MUFE leave the fragrance out and this one could be a possible HG!! *PPP Foundations List in my notepad* Ingredients: Polylift (A Biopolymer Made From Sweet Almonds), Maximum Firming Skin Pigments Coated In Plant-Based Amino Acids, Long-Lasting Hold Moisturizing Glycerin.

This has to be one of the best foundations I've tried. I use #2 color. It's a tad dark but in the summer it's perfect. I've had no breakouts or clogged pores, and that's something for me. My skin is dry, sensitive and with rosacea. I would buy this again.

This has definitely become my HG foundation. I am a fair, coppery redhead and the #1 is perfect for me in the winter. I just recently bought the #2 to mix w/ my #1 for summer. I haven't stayed w/one foundation this long in a very long time. I usually apply it after my sunscreen (usually about 5 minutes later) and it blends and covers beautifully without looking masky or cakey. It doesn't look like your wearing makeup, yet it does cover and even out. The BEST part about this foundation is that it seemed like EVERY other foundation was breaking me out and clogging my pores and this one hasn't at all. I feel like since I've switched to this foundation in the fall, my skin looks sooo much better and clearer. I LOVE it. I didn't like the Mat Velvet OR the Face and Body as both irritated my face and broke me out. This Lift foundation actually almost soothes my face and I would highly suggest this foundation if you have encountered problems with every other one. I tried soo many and even several different mineral foundations and TM's, and this one is by far the best. The End.

I never thought make-up could feel so good on my face. My dry skin feels hydrated and fresh and the medium coverage takes care of any redness. I like the pump because it is sanitary but at the same time I dislike that I can't pump out a tiny amount without a full pump's worth coming out. I find the price steep at $42 CAD but for someone who hardly ever wears make-up, I was surprised that having it on could be a pleasant experience.

Test-driving this via generous samples from Sephora. Trying this to compare vs. new Avon lifting foundation & Laura Mercier silk creme. So far, Make Up Forever wins, hands down! I don't look pasty, cakey or tired & it does NOT break me out (which most foundations do)! I am 38 & this takes years off!
I still like my American Beauty for combo skin, but it can be a bit dehydrating, so this wins, so far! I tried #2 of the MUF & it's just lovely & great, blendable texture...like MUCH better than the Laura Mercier, so far! Jury is still out on the new Avon formula...stay tuned...! :-)
