I really wanted this product to work for me after seeing demonstrations on models, however it did not. My hair didn't feel soft or clean. It felt really gross because of the residue that was left. This was really expensive too. I returned it the next day.

I saw this product on an infomercial and decided to try it. I bought the 32oz bottle for about $58 on the Chaz Dean website. My hair is very fine but I have a lot of it so it appears thick. It also reaches past my shoulders and is dry and damaged from coloring and heat styling. I purchased the fig because it was supposed to be the best for dry and damaged hair. The directions say to use a minimum of 40 pumps (10 per section) for my hair! First of all, I tried to use 40 pumps and most of the conditioner fell out of my hair in chunks and washed down the drain. I even tried the wash, rinse and repeat and that was still A LOT of product that ended up just falling out of my hair and washing down the drain. I only use 14 pumps of product and believe me this is more than enough for my hair! The results for me are the same whether I use the recommended amount of pumps or not. I guess I was hoping for a miracle because my hair has been looking awful lately, but I didn’t get one. I have always washed my hair with conditioner, I use the VO5 conditioners because they are silicone free and won’t leave any build up in my hair. I thought my hair would be like the women in the infomercial, and although my hair is really soft, it is still frizzy and you can see a lot of breakage. I also didn’t care for the scent, to me this smells like bacon so I’m not a fan. I noticed that I was losing more hair in the shower, but that could be because I was vigorously cleansing my scalp with this stuff. The one really good thing this product did was relieve my dry and itchy scalp. All in all this wasn’t as great as the infomercial makes it out to be. I believe I get the same results washing my hair with conditioner. Perhaps my hair is just too damaged and my expectations are not realistic, but I will probably not be repurchasing. I am very happy that this works for some, but for me, I will be on the hunt for another product!

My friend at work gave me WEN (with tea tree oil version) to try, as she loves it. I haven't used yet, will repost later, however just feeling a drop between my fingers, and applying to my hand I thought - it's just hair conditioner in a shampoo bottle!! So I looked up the ingredients, and yes, it's just hair conditioner, with all the standard conditioner products, and a few "flavorings". So what's the fuss? I'm thinking it's the procedure, not the product, that gives the results. Also, some people have had hair loss probably because of some strong herbals that remain on the scalp. Conditioner can be somewhat of a cleaner if massaged in and left on and mechanical combed out. Always a skeptic, and I will repost after trying the stuff.

I love Wen it really gives my hair a lot of shine which is rare since my hair is really really dry. The only thing i disliked was the price but its worth it. I tried using Hair One from sallys because its cheaper and not only is the smell annoying but my hair was falling off and a friend of mine who tried it told me her hair was falling off too. Definitely NOT the same as Wen like some people claim. I went back to Wen in a hurry!

Here's the deal with wen. You have to use a ton of this product and it's really expensive. If you aren't ok with those two things, don't buy it.
The truth is that when you use it for the first few times it's going to make your hair look worse before it makes it look better. Since our scalps are used to getting oils constantly stripped due to shampooing, they secrete at a faster rate. Wen conditioners don't strip hardly any oils. What it does do is clean while leaving the oil in your hair.
When I started using it, my hair at first seemed very oily and weighed down. This is when most people stop using it and go back to shampooing. But the key is you have to allow your scalp to adjust to the drastic change. Give it a few weeks, a couple months. Eventually, your scalp stops secreting so much oil and your hair stays cleaner. The results you will get will wen are amazing and worth the wait. I had virtually no frizz or fly aways, my hair lost the crazy poof it had and my hair color was actually richer.
Basically, this product takes a long time to get your scalp adjusted to it. But if you're willing to be patient and spend a lot of money, it wont disappoint you. I wouldn't recommend wen to people with super oily hair. I think it works best for people with dry poofy hair.

I have thick coarse hair that is regularly relaxed, flat-ironed, and colored. Recently, I had a color put in my hair that dried it out, caused breakage, and dulled the appearance. I've used various shampoos, conditioners and leave-ins but my hair continued to look worse and breakage was out of control. I decided to use Wen as a last resort before deciding to just cut several inches off. I am very impressed. I applied 17 pumps to my shoulder length hair and applied 2 pumps as a leave-in. My results are soft, shiny hair that is full of body. I was also impressed because there was hardly any hair in the sink when I rinsed also just a very few signs of breakage when styling. My hair doesn't feel oily or heavy.... just soft bouncy and looks healthy for once. It actually looks better than it did after my last trip to the salon. If there was any negative it would be the smell. It wasn't bad...just not what I expected. I highly recommend especially for African American hair. Well worth the price.

Okay, so I read about this product and figured I would give it a try. I am 54 with shoulder length hair that tends to "poof". I can never get it smooth and shiny like when I get it blown out. It has felt dry and coarse since getting highlights and the grey makes it feel even coarser. So I tried it this morning. I love it!! I hope it just continues to give me the same results. I used about 15 pumps of product, and then another 3 for a second washing. I probably could have used more, but was cautious thinking it might leave it oily. My hair felt clean but not necessarily silky when wet. But when I blew it out, it felt softer, the color looks better (brighter) and it feels bouncier. In the past 10 years, I have lost my curl and I blamed it on my grey and haircuts (maybe too blunt or too choppy). Well I even noticed that I had more curl today. It wasn't lifeless! It feels so clean, not oily or feeling like it's coated. Just silky, shiny, clean and no frizz. I have a bit of static, but nothing like I had before. I am so excited but keeping my fingers crossed that future washings work just as well. I would now love to try the oil and deep conditioner. Best product I ever used and boy have I used many! I will edit in a month.

I have east African hair, meaning my hair isn't exactly coarse, it's sort of soft, and curly, but VERY frizzy! For the longest time, I didn't think anything could tame my frizz and give me soft beautiful hair, I was always so close, but I could never achieve the texture I wanted.
So, I tried Wen products, along with olive oil. Now, wen is a WONDERFUL product!! My hair was very soft, not dried out after I washed it, so I knew it was a keeper! The olive oil probably did 90% of the work, but wen is great! I would definitely buy again...once its on sale.

The Wen products are simply amazing. I know Wen critics are primarily focused on the price. However, I am finding that not having to buy shampoo and conditioner provides some cost benefit. Also, after 3 weeks of using the products faithfully, and all of the compliments I am getting, not to mention how much I love my hair again... you just can't put a pricetag on it. I absolutely love washing my hair again. I have color treated hair, and have recently passed the 47 year old age mark. I have been very unsatisfied with my hair for the past 2 years. It has looked dull and lifeless and I was losing clumps ever time i washed it. It was frizzing and the once soft, straight shiny texture was gone! Chemicals and blow drying ruined it. Plus as you age the gray hairs that come in are a bit wirey. Wen has saved my hair. I use the fig cleanser. But use the almond mask (only because it is cheaper than the others); i also use the lavendar oil two times a week overnight. This is just amazing. I do believe this oil has made a huge difference. Not only that, but it helps me sleep, as the lavendar fragrance in and of itself is like an aroma therapy inducing relaxation (though my husband and daughter do not like the smell of the oil). I love caring for my hair now. I also use the styling cream which seems to seal in a shine and strength after blowdrying. The spay is also good if you want to skip a day of washing and still style your hair. Just mist and do a quick restyle with the blowdryer and wala... fresh hair again. I will never change from wen and actually started using it on my husband and daughter who also are seeing the benefits. Though, because they have no chemicals nor do they blow dry, i am finding that the cheaper Sally product Hair One works just fine on them. I cannot say enough about the wen products. I am so grateful to Chaz Dean for coming up with this product. Thank you Chaz, I am a Wen Girl forever!!

“Wen is a winner” - so say those who have been converted to this revolutionary concept in cleansing introduced by noted Los Angeles hair stylist and colorist, Chaz Dean. It’s a total switch from the way we’re used to cleansing our hair, and it’s a highly beneficial change because it eliminates all the harsh detergents and chemicals found in traditional shampoos.
WEN Cleansing Conditioners take the place of shampoo, conditioner,
deep conditioner, detangler, and leave-in conditioner - all the
anticipated benefits of these five items in one bottle to leave hair
healthy moisturized and cleansed.
A current favorite from among WEN’s luxe line of offerings is Fig
Cleansing Conditioner, which is a universal cleanser for all hair
types, as it also adds body and strengthens hair.
For premium hair care just say WEN! Find it at www.chazdean.com along
with a plethora of other items to revitalize and reinvigorate your
hair!

I had to write a review on this product as I can honestly say hands down it is the BEST product i've ever used on my hair and i have used many!!!! This is the only product that makes my curls look beautiful and allows me to wear my hair down! It just turns into into beautiful soft and moisturised curls without being heavy or crispy!!!! (gaaahhhh i hate crispy curls!) My hair has siginificantly improved since using this! it's grown soo much and i don't even have to use it as a wash everyday! Just as a leave in conditioner when my hair is soaking wet does the job!! Mixed girls and Black you should definitely try this!! ( i would only recommend this scent/flavour though as i tried the sweet almond mint and it was pretty meh! Fig is the one you need!!!!!!)

I have been using Wen since the spring(2010) and my hair has been better than ever! The Fig Cleanser works best for me because i have curly hair, my texture is medium and my hair is long. As an african american woman sometimes it is hard to find the right balance in a product to moisturize but yet be light enough to give body and bounce. Wen has given me that balance I have long desired. The shine and manageability is excellent. As an ex stylist I have tried many different products but none have been like Chaz Deans products, the idea of no sulfate and no soaps is right on the money in terms of stripping and drying effects on the hair. The replacement cleanser in this product is MUCH gentler on the hair. Rinsing is key with this product and should not be used on fine textures, it will make the hair feel unclean. The key to using any of Chazs' products is finding the one specifically for your hair type. I am surely a Wen user for life!

So today is the morning after. I washed my hair last night with wen fig cleansing conditioner. This morning woke up straightened it and I am very impressed. First and foremost my hair is damaged and broken and very hard to grow. I have been straightening it with the chi for the past six years. So there is some pretty good damage there. Now, I saw this on QVC went with it. I plaid 29.95 for the cleansing conditioner and it came with the wen comb. My hair is soft and manageable and incredibly shiny. I love this stuff. I have heard in other reviews that after a while the conditioner starts to build up so because i am still in awe I can't say anything bad about this stuff. Now the comb is really great too. When i brused my hair i didn't feel any tugs or anything as I would with a regular brush. So that's a plus in my book.
UPDATE***** I stopped using this shampoo. I went to get a haircut and I started telling them how good it was and then the stylist felt my hair and said honey you have a lot of build up! UGH i went home washed my hair with a cleasing shampoo and my hair was so incredibly soft. I DID HAVE BUILDUP. I now just use WEN on my ends as a conditioner.

I started out using Wen on Good Friday. I got the Almond Mint. Since I have color treated hair, I decided to go with the Fig. Like the poster before me, after about a month, my hair looked dry and frizzy, total opposite of what Wen is supposed to do. Not only that, I had a significant amount of hair ending up on the shower floor. I thought sulfate free shampoos were supposed to be better for your hair, not worse? I lost less hair with bcp's than with Wen. To say the scent was disgusting, is being generous. It smells like medicine and it doesn't go away. Every time I sweat or my hair gets the slightest bit moist, that medicinal/fig scent "wakes up". I was spending a small fortune on this stuff and my hair looked like I was using Suave instead of a $30.00 bottle of shampoo. Thanks to the internet, I found out about Hair One by Sally's. $11.00 a bottle and the first night I used it, I got compliments on my hair. My hair looks like it should have with Wen. Big no to Wen, big Yes to Hair One.

I really thought I liked this shampoo but after using it for a month I think my hair is more unruly and dry. I have naturally curly hair and I really wanted something good for my hair and to help me make my curls look better. this is clearly not it so it will be going back. I so wanted to love it b/c my friend uses it and her hair looks great. It's just not doing it for my hair, I actually don't want to leave my house! I also don't like the smell, at first you think it smells good and then it has a very medicinal smell to it.

I have mature, naturally curly hairy that is prone to coarseness and frizziness, and it is color treated and foiled. I got the fig version because it is supposed to be for hair that needs extra moisture. I got mine from QVC, along with the styling cream and refresher mist. This comes in a 32 oz pump bottle, and Chaz Dean recommended 32 pumps of product (32!) for my length hair. First, the fig scent is overcome by a medicinal one that smells a bit tarry, like the products created for scalp conditions. When rubbed on the scalp, it tingles. The conditioner if somewhat rich, but not overly so. When used with the styling cream it did a pretty good job. But after three uses, my hair was weighted fown and I needed to shampoo. The refreshing mist is OK, but I did not use it much. I used up the bottle quickly -- far more quickly than I used the styping cream or mist. I do not think this is anything but basic conditioner, it is not cost effective, and I do not care for the tarry scent.

I am a real sucker for a good sales pitch, my hairdresser suggested we go halfs for some wen and do our own product test. It took while for it to arrive, I couldnt wait to use it. I have thick, fine curly hair, that is straightend with irons. My hair always looks crap after I shamppoo it and takes forever to settle down. I have used wen twice now , and the results are fantastic. I cant stop touching my hair, it is so soft. The price is unfortunate , I have decided to put aside the money each week as it is worth it. I have a scalp problem and are keen to see if this helps to improve it, I well let you all know how I get on.

Although I have only been using this product for a short amount of time, I am in love! After the first wash, I noticed a huge difference! My hair was softer, CURLIER than ever (naturally curly/wavy), and felt so much cleaner after using this one product than I have after using (expensive) shampoo and conditioner. I like using this knowing that I am not damaging my hair with harsh ingredients and that all I need afterwards is a blowdryer and a good roundbrush (if I want it straight). If you want more volume, a good cleanse, and a detergent free product, this is the one for you!

I have used the clensing conditioners for about 4 yrs. now & cannot entertain the thought of conventional shampoo. I have thick, somewhat coarse, color treated hair. The Fig is my all time favorite. It is very hydrating and not greasy at all. I use about 20 pumps in the shower (I mix Fig & sweet almond mint), use 1 pump as a leave in (adding 2 drops of the Fig Oil) and my hair is wonderfully hydrated. This has been a lifesaver for me throughout the winter when my hair tends to get dry. I think that it is very important to read up on the WEN system and spend some time finding out what works for you. It takes some time to get used to, but the results are well worth it!

I debated about trying this, as I have tried other condition only cleansing methods and been slightly pleased. I finally bought it and ended up loving it. I have colored, fine, naturally wavy, dry hair. I used it as directions said, but with a few less pumps for my below shoulder length hair. I massaged it in, left on for several minutes, combed through and rinsed. I was left with soft, shiny hair which did not feel dry at all. My ends felt conditioned and roots were not oily. I actually did purchase the 32 oz size, and will continue to re-purchase. I did use my Tawaka shampoo and conditioner after several weeks of using Wen, and was not pleased with results. My hair and scalp feels so cleaned and conditioned, so I don't plan to switch!
