This shampoo is really drying, even when followed with a heavy conditioner. I have oily, untreated, very thick, straight hair and this always leaves my hair poofier than normal , which is very bad! Too bad, I really wanted to like it because it is more natural than most other shampoos. I gave it two stars because at least it cleans my hair and has a pleasant scent.

Bought this because it was raved about on the hair board. It's way too drying. It lathers nicely and rinses easily but doesn't moisturize. And the smell, to me, is nothing special at all. Bought two bottles, wish I'd bought no bottles.

Although I like the formulation of this product and it's more natural ingredients, I could not get past the smell of it. It cleansed very well without overdrying my fine, straight hair, but I would not repurchase. Loved the Honeydew scent one.

I don't quite understand why people like this shampoo. I only use sulfate-free shampoos and this is one of the most drying I've ever tried. Left my hair feeling like straw and looking frizzy. The only thing I like about it is the scent which doesn't linger anyway.

At first I thought ok this is going to be my new HG, but after a few uses this left my hair looking and feeling dried out. Bummer. I absolutely love the smell of this with the Gardenia cond. If you want a great sulfate free poo that actually moisturizes I suggest Aveda's Smooth Infusion line. It's fabulous.

i read so many good things about this shampoo, but i've been using it regularly for about two months now and i really dislike it. i have color-processed hair that is baby fine AND thick, and this stuff just leaves it tangled, dry, and flat.

I tried this shampoo after reading about it on the hair board.
So disappointed in it. I didn't like it at all.
It stripped my hair and made it feel very rough.

I have fine, color-treated hair. I tried so hard to like this stuff but alas it is just mediocre and really didn't do anything but strip my hair and leave it limp and lifeless. The smell is a bit strong too but doesn't linger.

This product didn't work for me at all.
It dried out my hair, even with the Gardenia Conditioner.
My hair felt like it was stripped of all natural oils and softness.
I was very surprised at how awful this smelled. Not even close to Plumerias.

I have colored and highlighted hair on the thick side which gets very frizzy and curly when left to air dry.
Sorry, but I give this a big thumbs down.

My hair is dry, porous, and otherwise not nice without product smeared all over it.

This shampoo smells amazing. It dries out my mop, though. It gets my hair super clean, and that's not good.

If your hair isn't porous and dry, I think this is a harmless, delicious shampoo.

This is a wonderful shampoo. Smells awesome, cleans gently, but doesn't strip moisture. Leaves my hair very shiny and soft. I have shoulder length dry, highlighted, fine but abundant hair. I love to use it with the Gardenia Conditioner b/c they both smell divine.

I just bought this honey dew shampoo and the mango conditioner of this alba botanicals, and i LOVE LOVE this product, it made my hair soft, healthier with for sure SHINE, and combability and healthier in appearances, I was skeptical at first with this health store product, but being its a rave here in makeupalley.com and also popular at our Marine base Commisary, i decided to get this at the commisary store, and am so highly pleased with this shampoo, SMELLS HEAVENLY!!!!!

it's pretty good. smells nice and leaves my hair feeling soft, clean and not excessively dry. I cannot really tell what's the difference between this and the honeydew version besides the scent. but it's a bit of a letdown Alba shampoos aren't SLS free.

Fabulous shampoo. Potential HG. Nice light tropical smell. Decent price for a 12 oz. bottle. I have very short, fine, thick, curly/wavy, virgin hair which tends to get dried out from almost everything, but I wash it everyday to get the product out of it. I love this shampoo because it gently cleanses my hair without drying it out a bit and does not contain harsh sulfates or any skin irritants. I've used it in conjuction with the Alba Very Emollient Daily Rinse conditioner, and I like that, too. I have had no problems with low lather; in fact, I think this shampoo lathers just as well as every other sulfate-laden shampoo I've used in the past. I do not care for the flip top as it is already broken off of my bottle (during shipping from drugstore.com), but that is a very minor irritation with such a great product, and I'm still giving it 5 lippies. I will definitely repurchase this and recommend it to others. (BTW, I complained to drugstore.com that I received this with the lid broken off, and they sent me a new bottle for free!)

If you're looking for a great, gentle shampoo, this is it. It smells wonderful and leaves my hair soft, but clean. I bought it for around 8 bucks and this is great to rotate with my other shampoos. My hair just felt very healthy. I plan on getting the gardenia conditioner to go with it.

A wonderful product. The very lush, gentle lather rinses out cleanly & doesn't strip my hair at all. It leaves my hair feeling soft, clean & looking shiny. The only drawback for me is that if I use it more than 2 or 3X in a row it starts to leave my dark brown & silver, coarse, mature, short wavy hair hair *too* soft, taking the wave out of it. That woudn't be a problem w/people who have (or want) straight hair, but for me it works best in rotation w/my HG shampoo, John Masters Evening Primrose.

This doesn't have any SLS or silicones, 2 musts for me; all the other ingredients are very gentle AFAIK: Aqueous extracts of ananas sativus (pineapple), carica papaya (papaya) and zingiber zerumbet (awapuhi), certified organic aloe barbadensis, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, oleyl betaine, soyamidopropalkonium chloride, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, citric acid, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), soy protein, vegetable glycerin, macadamia ternifolia and aleurites moluccana (kukui) nut oils, ethylhexylglycerin, glycereth-7 cocoate, sodium benzoate, phospholipids, macrocystis pyrifera (kelp) extract and botanical fragrance.

The price is good-been finding it for 6.27 online at a site which has other things I use, so I don't end up paying many shekels per bottle shipping. :-).

3/5/08 Upgraded this to 5 lippies. I'm liking this more & more. Health issues have made some of my hair fall out :-( !!! & what's left is thinner, drier, less wavy & kind of dull. Plus it gets limp & the roots feel almost oily 8-10 hrs after washing if I use more than a dab of conditioner or leave it on for more than a minute. Here's hoping an herbal formula from my acupuncturist helps! Even my beloved John Masters Evening Primrose shampoo makes my hair really dry & straw-like for now, but this gentle shampoo helps my hair look as good as possible, especially as the weather gets a bit warmer & drier.

I used up my bottle of Honeydew and when I was out to get more, I took a whiff of this and decided to give it a shot. I like to think of both shampoos as my "clarifying" option - they do a great job of just getting hair clean. The "wow" factor with these shampoos are the wonderful scent. A little pricey for such a basic shampoo, but I keep buying it anyway so I guess it's not that bad. :-)

I really like this shampoo. I switched from using Paul Mitchell Shampoo One, which although is supposed to be gentle, I found made my hair rough. As you can tell from my choices, I'm a sucker for the scent of the shampoo more than anything. The plumeria scent is amazing. My boyfriend loves it!
As for the performance - a little goes a long way, and your hair comes out soft, shiny, and with lots of body. I use this in conjunction with Terax Crema conditioner, and my hair looks fabulous, and smells great.
I also have to give it an extra lippie for being so cheap, and widely available. I got it for $7.99 or thereabouts at London Drugs!
