I recently received a sample of this, and I used this on a 22 hour flight. Normally, I have acne-prone, sensitive, and combination skin/oily t-zone but in the very dry cabin air... even my slighly oily skin turned very dry, and felt rough/uneven especially around the nose area. I fly frequently and I am in constant search of my HG jetset products. I used this on my face and the texture did feel a bit oily initially, but I felt it gave my skin the moisture it so needed and hydrated it beautifully. When I finally landed, I had no rough/uneven dry patches and my skin felt plump and smooth. That said, if I were to use Quench in a normal everyday setting, I think the texture will be a bit too much to handle and will make my skin oiler than I would have liked - like a sheen of oil sitting on top of my skin. Because of the dry air in the plane, it worked out though. And I would probably only reuse this product the next time I fly.

This Quench did not quench my skin. Dissappointed w/ this Kate product. I applied this slippery serum onto my skin and had a pretty "glow" that she advertises for about 10 minutes - big deal! My skin was not hydrated that much as promised. Also about 2-3 days after beginning this product my skin got little tiny pimply things on my cheeks. Still in denial - I kept on using it for another week and things did not improve on my skin. I sent it back yesterday and can't wait to get my $65.00 back!!!

I did love Kate's Line Release Eye Cream - excellent product. The Deep Tissue Repair was good, but not great, but I have found nothing as good as Retin A and Skinceutical C+E Ferulic( btw, Ferulic comes from wheat)

This is an excellent hydrating serum for my sensitive, mature skin. It has a wonderful texture and makes my dry skin moist for hours after using. It works for day and/or night. I have been using ReVive Volumizing Serum for several years @ $600 per ounce and this one is $60 for the same quantity. The BIG difference between them is Quench doesn't have ReVive's ultra pricey, miracle ingredient, KGF. Other than that one expensive, (and it seems very effective) ingredient, I find the feel and results to be virtually identical. I was told by Dr. Brown of ReVive when I met with him last year that I should use VS ONLY around my lips..... so I AM still doing that with beautiful results. I have yet to find a better product than VS for filling in lip lines. But, all the same, I love Quench on the rest of my face.....a lot more frugal overall plan and this combo is working great so far!

Like hopebaby said, I was told by the SA @ Nordies to put this serum on last. My skin has been really acting up lately so I'm trying this line. After cleansing w/the gentle wash I use the peptide cream, then the nourish cream and then this serum. I'm only on my 2nd day, yet it all seems to be helping & improving my skin. Will update after I've given these products more time to do their magic (fingers crossed!) UPDATE: This is irritating my skin & breaking me out (using it under or over the cream)! The Peptide cream also bothered me & irritated my eyes (I didn't put it near them). The Nourish cream is just okay but even that seems to be too much when used am & pm. I've got a sample of the Goats cream coming & I hope that works for me. Also was not impressed w/the ezyme scrub & mask. What I do like is her gentle cleanser & the goats milk body lotion. Probably will seek out a more natural line, which is what I typically stick to.

I have been using this for over 6 months. The texture is a little too oily for my taste but does sink in and is a great base for evening make up application or for LM Oil free tinted moisturizer. I use this mostly at night since UV destroys the effectiveness of retinol. I think this has hydrating properties for me and smoothes me out. It does feel like it has a lot of 'cones in it though. It also helps with the glow factor a bit once it's FULLY sunk in. Otherwise it just looks oily. I am worried that it's giving me some clogged pores so I'm switching to Ren for a while.

Edit: This was a major source of break outs for me so I will not buy again.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff!!!! It is a miracle! I use it daily, under my moisturizers and I can say with conviction, it saves my skin from hard water, dehydration, and from looking just plain tired. If I really want a glow, I put it on OVER my moisturizer. Kate rocks!!!!! Believe me, I have tried it all!

Great Serum which gives extra moisture as well as it immediately plumps up my skin ..... it does appear greasy but it quickly dries and works great in combination with the Deep Tissue Repair or the Nourish Daily moisturizer.

Just to update on the Kate Somerville Line, I am still using all of the line and love it, don't love the price. Can be scary when you first see that it is lick slicking oil onto your face but it sokes right in and I am in Indiana right now dead of winter and let me tell you this has helped along with the Kate moisturiser I use to keep my skin from not being dry. I hardly ever have any flakes around the nose and here and there and I think the Quench helped that, so use it, I do and love it!

I wrote that the first jar that was empty I opened it up and it had a lot left in there, well the rest didn't do that so I think maybe something went wrong with my pump dispense. But I hate a Kate in a jar that has left than half left and actually the pump is going out on this one, too. Which would lead you to believe nothing is there and plenty in there. So I don't know if anyone else has had this problem or I am just unlucky but I will just say check you jars. And also one note even on a pump that worked perfect and it was out nothing else would come through I was still able to get one night use out of the deep tissure repair that I would of tossed and for this money I'm getting it all. So check at the end as you may have a single application left you can scrap off. That said I still like the line, for the most part the pumps have worked really well and I like the concept of how it comes out and no contaminated so will stick with it but hopefully i don't get stuch with any other pumps that act up and leave stuff in there. Things like that are bound to happen with anything from time to time, man made and man can make mistakes are unexpected flukes but hopefully no more problems. Looks like for the rest of KIJ will have to be scooped out which I don't like but NOT GOING TO WASTE FOR WHAT I PAID FOR IT. I pumped the heck out of the thing and nothing is coming out as if empty. So just check and even if empty like I said one more use may be in there for you to get with your finger.

Try this brand girls....you will like it and I know it is pricey but if you can swing it somehow, your worth it, we only get one face in life....take care of it.....:0)

I tried a sample size of this and was impressed with it. This is KS's #1 selling product. I only use thia at night since it's too rich for my oily/combo skin. I use 1/2 of a dime-sized amount, rub my fingertips together and then PAT onto my skin. I have had no breakouts doing it this way. It feels oily and then it sinks right in to my skin. After a minute or two, I apply KS peptide-8 cream over it. My skin is soft and supple especially now that my weather has turned cold outside. I have been using KS's entire line and after 2 weeks use, I am able to go without ANY foundation, only 1 thin layer of undereye concealer. I have been wearing full-face makeup since age 12 (more than 30+ yrs). It's very expensive but you need so little of each product and will last a long time. If you can afford it, try it!!

I went on a Kate Somerville kick after reading about her products in a couple magazines and this was the first product I purchased. One nice thing about KS products is that they send free samples of other products along with your order. I got a sample of the daily cleanser and the peptide cream both of which I really liked. However, I can’t spend $30 on face wash or $150 on moisturizer. I had a coupon for Quench so that’s how I justified buying the serum. Initially, I really liked it. Although I was using all of the KS samples along with this so I’m not sure if it was the serum or the peptide cream that was really doing all the work. I do think it helps moisturize but it does go on kind of greasy at first and takes a few minutes to really sink it, which like many other reviewers said is fine at night not so good in the morning if you’re rushed. Really the only things I don’t like about this product are the price and the packaging. If I were rich I would probably splurge and use all of the KS products but I’m most definitely not so while it did improve my skin a little, I just can’t justify the cost. The other problem I have with this product is the stupid freaking bottle it came in. I love that it has a pump but my bottle leaks like crazy. Maybe it’s just mine but if it ever gets knocked over, stuff leaks out. I’m pretty livid about it right now because it got knocked over in my cabinet last night and I didn’t know until this morning and HALF of the product had leaked out!! Even with my coupon this stuff was not cheap. I have like $25 worth of oily mess in my cabinet now. And the bottle is tall and skinny so it’s really easy to knock over. I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem but it certainly makes me not want to rebuy it.

This was another Kate Somerville product I did like but can only use at night. It is too much under makeup, even with a primer. I use it over the Deep Tissue Repair (over seems odd but that is what the Kate Somerville rep told me to do). It leaves my skin feeling smooth and soothed and it did not break me out. None of the Kate products have caused breakouts or irritation for me so that is a big plus. I don't know if it is actually doing anything though. I guess time will tell.

LOVE this product. Let me start of by saying at first I hated it because I was using it wrong. You must absolutely put a moisterizer on top of it. Every morning after washing my face I put on my quench then a vitamin C serum and my sunscreen and then some powder and I'm done. My super oily skin stays matte all day and just looks soft and pretty. At night i use this along with my treatsments and moisterizer. I don't know what I would do with out this product!!! definitely recommend it.

Horrible product!!! I hated it! It made my otherwise, normal skin break out horribly, which is something no skin care product has ever done to me before. I've tried all of Kate's products, and sadly they are nothing but hype.

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me at all. My skin really didn't feel hydrated deep down and it broke me out horribly. Seems to be a favorite among many, so maybe it just didn't react well with my skin.

I finally finished my first bottle and now starting my 2nd one. This serum is a true life saver for dry skin. My skin in the winter gets very dry and sensitive and the only thing that had helped is CDLM which I prefer not to use daily since I often get reaction to it if I use it daily. I started using this serum four months ago and with this, I can use a lighter night cream and still feel hydrated. The texture is rather strange. On first application it gives you an almost oily slick feeling but that would fade once it is absorbed. I don't use this in the morning since I simply don't have the time to wait for my skin to absorb it and then continue with my daily routine. But as a night time treatment product, this compliments my other cream very well.

This is a serum/moisturizer that, in my opinion, intensifies moisture from any moisturizer placed on top. As much as I like it, I can not justify spending so much money for a serum! $65.00. Yes, I have seen significant moisture to my skin and as a part of the "glow" kit, I like it very much. It is very nice and I wouldn't stop using it, but the cost kills me. The whole system has really done a nice job on my face overall so I don't know if "stepping it up" would significantly change for the better or worse the overall appearance. It reminds me of a primer but has more moisture built in and sinks in quickly allowing for a quick, effortless routine by having it followed by the peptide cream shortly after application. Overall it is nice. Oh, my favorite thing about this product is that it comes with a clear area on the side so that you can actually see how much is left of the product. It's a pump, so it's very hygenic. I know someone mentioned that they couldn't control the pump but I don't find that to be a problem. I only pump lightly halfway and I get just enough.

The ingredient listings are SOOOO small that I will try my hardest getting it right. Ingredients are:
cyclopentasiloxane, dimethiconol, dimethicone, lecithin, octyl cocoate, phenyltrimethicone, trilicum vulgare (wheat) germ oil, tocopherol (vitamin E), retinol (vitamin A), sodium ascorbate, glycolipids,/capric triglyceride

After reading all the great reviews for Kate Somerville’s products, I was intrigued. I LOVE the CosMedix line and haven’t found anything that works as well. Nevertheless, I am always interested in trying. I LOVE that Kate Somerville offers sample products (which can be customized if you call to place your order) for a nominal cost and their customer service is exceptional. The aestheticians are so helpful in analyzing your skin type and making product recommendations. I ordered (in sample form) Purify Cleanser, Gentle Daily Wash, Kate In A Jar, Quench, and Deep Tissue Repair with Peptide K8, among others; however, this is the extent of what I tried. I had such high hopes that I would love this line…I didn’t! While I liked the Purify Cleanser, I would find it difficult to justify spending $32 for a full size. The Gentle Daily Wash was nothing special, either…it did smell yummy…but again, would find it difficult to justify spending $32 on a full size, as it was nothing special. I did like the Kate In A Jar…it’s kind of a cross between a mask and scrub. It’s mossy green and has a bit of grit for scrub/exfoliation. It tingles/burns a bit upon application (reminds me a little of Jan Marini’s Enzyme Mask), is left on for 20 to 30 seconds and rinses easily, leaving a clean, soft feeling behind. As I said I liked this product; however, again didn’t find it to be anything extraordinary and would find it difficult to justify spending $85 for a full size when I have other products that work as well or better for a fraction of the cost. The Quench seemed oily to me (it reminded me of Graham Webb’s Vivid Color Reparative Shine). Needless to say, I didn’t care for this product at all. Finally, the Deep Tissue Repair…I wanted to like it…but it broke me out and made me feel like a greasy mess…and I have no intention of spending $150 for a full size of anything that doesn’t do really great things. Overall, I was deeply disappointed in the products I tried from this line. Perhaps it’s just my really funky skin (a cross between sensitive, oily/combination, breakout-prone)…but this line is definitely not for me. I am putting all the samples I have (some used once and others never tried) up for swap, for anyone interested in trying before buying.
