Like a lot of other product hounds, I feel like I've tried my share of shampoos and conditioners, both drugstore and salon brands. Pureology Nanoworks is, hands down, the best line I've ever tried, Kerastase Nutritive coming in a pretty far second. After just one use of the shampoo and conditioner, my (fine, past shoulder length, color-treated and moderately damaged) hair feels like velvet. I can't stop running my hands through it. It looks impeccably shiny and healthy, like a child's hair. Like perfect virgin hair that has never been mistreated - dream hair! It smells amazing - vaguely tropical, in a sophisticated unisex way (i.e. like Redken rather than Herbal Essences). The fact that it's sulfate-free, color-safe, and organic is also great. Having said all this, Nanoworks IS exorbitantly expensive. However, I've been able to find really good deals on ebay and I'd much rather pay more for products that really work than pay less for products that don't do anything.

I just want to update me previously review from a couple months ago. After using this shampoo & matching conditioner my hair had no shine and I also had a build up on my scalp & hair. I feel this stuff is way over priced and there is no way a shampoo is going to transform hair and work a miracle. Matrix Biolage has a sulfate free shampoo that cleans hair & scalp much better, is non-drying and also much cheaper. Save your money. This stuff is a rip-off.

I have to admit I LOVE this stuff! It's expensive but worth every drop! My hair has been bleached beyond an inch of it's life and this keeps my hair in good condition. Thank goodness because I'm sure I'd have to cut all my hair off without this stuff! :)

I got so excited about this, reading all the great reviews... so I went out and bought the liter sizes of this and the conditioner...BIG mistake. It makes my hair feel like it has a residue left even if I use a little tiny amount and rinse really good. I've finished the conditioner liter bottle and now I am stuck with the shampoo bottle because I paid too much to just throw it away.

The Shampoo is a thick rich formula with a very pleasing sent.
I have really long hair and two pumps is enough to wash my hair. I know the price tag is a killer an 8.5 oz can range anywhere from 50-55$ and the 33.8 oz 100-120.

This iswhen ebay seller's become my best friends. :)

Over all i been using this shampoo for the past five years and with all honesty my hair is at it's best!
I grow my hair as long as possible because i donate it once it has reached its limit and i'm so happy i found a washing product that helps me maintain beautiful hair.

I'm not generally a fan of Pureology but this is not a bad shampoo. My hair was still hydrated and the smell was pleasant. However, I would not buy it again because of the price. There are many other shampoos that will give you the same, if not better results, for cheaper. I also do not like the design of this bottle. You cannot stand it upside down to get out the last bit because the neck of the bottle is so slim.

OK, I admit I spend waay to much on my hair. Color/highlights/cut every four weeks - but I'll gladly skip other little luxuries just to have my hair a certain way! My stylist has begged me to buy this shampoo and the conditioner for years and I always laughed at the price tag and thought "no way it could be THAT good!" Well ... I was wrong, very wrong! I got it at a very reduced price on Amazon and could not believe the difference it made in my hair after the first use. It actually came back to life! It looked much fuller, had bounce and shine, and actuall styled better. I'm totally hooked on this stuff and if you do spend the big bucks for color, why not spend a little more to maintain it and maximize it? Especially great for "aging hair syndrome"! If you're over 50 ... don't even think about it. JUST BUY IT!

I agree, it's not worth the price. I bought this shampoo & matching conditioner in 2008 and initially loved the results. After a few months it didn't seem to do anything for me anymore, even after I switch it up with other brands. I always hated the perfumey scent but put up with it. Now I've found better products that cost way less, and yes some of those products are from John Frieda (though unfortunately they are discontinued). It was worth trying this high-end product, but no, it's not worth spending $100 for the set again. The packaging is difficult to use & I'm finding it a challenge to finish this up so I can get rid of the bottles already. For now I just put them on the side in my bathroom cabinet. They are close to empty but not close enough.

I'm not a big fan of this shampoo or the conditioner. I hate products that leave any buildup or residue in my hair and no matter how much I rinsed I felt like it left residue in my hair. That was probably more due to the conditioner then the shampoo, but I can spend $9 on John Freida and get better results and no residue. Also I don't have fine hair that's easily weighed down; it's thick and coarse. I didn't see a significant change in the health of my hair after using this product. Not really worth the price in my opinion.

Picked this up at Ulta last night after reading all the great reviews here. Sorry to disappoint you, but this is not a good shampoo for me ( i have very fine long hair). It made my hair look dry, straw like and frizzy. It is also super expensive. I will be returning this and continue my search for the ultimate sulfate free shampoo.

Can't believe i haven't reviewed.. I love this shampoo and i have tried my fair share from Bumble and Bumble to Redken to Kerastase, none of them can even compare. At first i was a little put off at the price tag I thought 50 dollars really. Im not one to skimp on hair products but 50 sounded a little steep. I pay about 40 for the Kerastase and that is supposed to be the rolls royce of hair care. But my hair dresser insisted this is the best out there and boy was he right. I have naturally dark brown hair that is highlighted light blonde and the base is broken so the damage is severe to the ends. I usually have to blowdry and then flat iron, but no more my ends are so smooth that all i have to do is blowdry with a round brush. The other great thing is that it is sulfate free and has no cones so it isn't masking the problem it is actually healing your hair. This is the best and only shampoo i will use. Thank you Pureology.

I have a cosmetology license, so I get my hair products for wholesale costs (I paid $25 for this instead of retail price which is $50). I love this shampoo! It makes my hair silky soft and shiny. This is the best shampoo I have ever used and I have tried many. You only use a very small amount and rub it between your palms before applying and a little goes a long way.

I have used other Pureology Shampoos (hydrate, volume and the Essential Repair) and was fond particularly of the Volumizing shampoo. I found the ER a little "slippery" - almost like there were alot of silicones in it. I have very fine near platinum blonde (its colored) and I have to be real careful. April 2008 I had a colorist BURN my hair- literally at the root line, so I had tremedous breakage to my then mid chest hair. I basically was starting over- that being said over a year later I have alot of regrowth but at the ends you can still see and feel the damage.

I had heard wonderful things about the Nanoworks line but hadn't wanted to shell out the big bucks for a SHAMPOO, I mean seriously, it just goes down the drain. Recently I had a 20% Ultra coupon and saw it sitting there. I smelled it and WOW.. Amazing. I figured I would get the small bottle and try it. I could barely wait to get home to shampoo my hair, the stuff smells SOOO good!!

My first try I decided to not to use a conditioner since it felt smooth. I did use a little Nioxin leave-in scalp treatment at my scalp and a little Pureology Split end repair on the ends. I let it air dry as always and WOW!!! Soft smooth and bouncy. I agree with other reviewers who said that your hair also feels "heavy"- In my case I would say it felt like it had more weight but not at all at the expense of volume and considering I didn't blow-dry that's saying alot.

A few more led to better results and I have alot more bounce and shine in my hair. I do think that there is the possibility of build up so I am planning on incorporating a clarifying treatment in once every other week.

Some reviewers take a lippie off for price- but I say you get what you pay for. (although i love Mill Creek Biotin shampoo @ $5) With what I went through with my hair- do I think the results are worth it what I paid for the shampoo? ABSOLUTELY. I firmly believe there are places you cut corners budget wise (mascara, nail polish etc) and places you dont.

I give this 4 lippies because it is SO expensive! Even at my stylist discount price! I have to say though that it is an AMAZING shampoo. My hair doesn't even feel like it's colored. It feels thick and soft (and it's fine) and it's not flat! The shampoo is a opaque golden cream color and smells so good! I saw that another reviewer said the 10 oz bottle is like purchasing a liter since it is so concentrated. I do agree. I used maybe a quarter size if that and my hair is an inch or more past my collar bone. It lathered just fine and I can see how a smaller bottle would last just like a liter would. I read the reviews that some other people experienced a darkening effect on their highlights. I really think it's just from shampoo buildup. I've experienced the same thing with other heavier shampoos. You just need to clarify once a week and get all the buildup out and also when you use the nanoworks, make sure you rinse it out VERY well since it is so thick and concentrated. I will update if I experience the same thing. I definetely recommend this though! I don't know if i'd go all out on the conditioner. I LOVE John Frida Root Awakening moisturizing conditioner and recommend that as a conditioner. It is one of the best conditioners I've tried, even above many salon brands and it's about $6 at Walmart.

Wow~ mucho expensivo, I'd say!! But, I bought a trial size (which was $14 for a few ounces), and unfortunately, I love this 'poo! When I am finished with my other sulfate-free shampoos, I plan to invest in a full bottle of this one. I love the fragrance, the way it lathers, and the great condition it puts my hair in. I don't even need to condition every day when I use this; and I have fine, color-treated hair that gets blowdried daily. I like this better than the also, overpriced (IMO), Alterna Ten, which I think is still more expensive than the Nanoworks. I'm gonna start saving my pennies up for this one!

I used the shampoo and conditioner together. I really loved the way it felt on my hair. I have thin hair and it really seemed to give me volume. I would love to buy this again, but its just so expensive. I may give it another try but it will definitely be a splurge.

I had been using Pureology's Hydrate shampoo and conditioner and LOVED them. When I ran out, I decided to purchase the Nanoworks as I had read all the wonderful reviews. I didn't work very well for me. My hair felt kind of dry, kind of damaged, a little straw-like, and my scalp itched. My hair didn't shine anymore. It smelled really good though. I finished the bottles due to the crazy price I had spent but I have returned to the hydrate line.

This is a good product, however not good enough to justify the outrageous price. It smells good and it works better than drugstore brands, but thats about it. The last time I used this was when I was brunette so I'll try it now that I'm blonde again, maybe it will perform differently. I received this as a gift, however I would repurchase it for myself if I found it cheap enough. My mom paid $60 for both the shampoo and conditioner on Amazon, so try getting it there.
