I tried this because I hate silicone, can't use protein on my hair, and I have a terrible time with fragrances. I used Aura Chamomile shampoo for years until they discontinued it - and then switched to Bain de Terre Jasmine Moisturizing, which I liked very much, but then they changed it. I've tried every shampoo out there and they are all either really heavy or really drying. Because many people consider this more clarifying, I thought it would be too drying, and I did find that true for the Strawberry, which also irritated my hands and made them red. But I noticed that the different "flavors" of the Suave have slightly different ingredients, and I tried the Cucumber Melon, which seems to work better for me. It's not irritating and it's not as drying for my hair. I'm using it consistently, and am really liking it. Surprisingly, the Green Apple was kind of heavy for my hair (but it has glycerin).

agree with the previous reviewer. my caucasian friends use this, and they have no problem with it. their hair looks great. but for my non-caucasion friends and me (i'm asian) it makes our hair poofy and dry! boooooo.. i really wanted this to work somewhat decent for me, because i love the smell, and it's sooo cheap! it made my hair really squeeeeaky.. which isn't a good thing for me.

I know it's not labeled as one, but I use this once or twice a week as my clarifying shampoo. It surprisingly doesn't strip my hair (like Pantene's clarifying shampoo does, ick!). It leaves my hair really clean and shiny, and I love the scent (though I like sweet scents....I can see how some are turned off by it). It's cheap and I like the clear packaging. I also sometimes use it as a body wash. It works great for that, too!

I like the Suave shampoos a lot and have tried the Strawberry-scented one a few times and like it a lot. In my opinion Strawberry is one of those "flavors" that the scent will never resemble, like grape. I adore the scent of the shampoo and it's good shampoo for what's it's worth. It's cheap and gets the job done!

This does not smell like Fresh Mountain Strawberries. It smells fake and like candy. It works as well as all the other Suave shampoos, but they have much better scents than this one.

I give this a poor review b/c it is not the same product from when I was a kid. It smells sweet but not strawberry. When I was a kid it was "Strawberry Essence" now its "Wild Mountain Strawberry". All shampoos and conditioners from Suave work fine for me though so I can't imagine this being any different. Don't go for this if you are looking for the stuff from when you were a kid...its not it. If you like the smell, go for it.

It doesn't really smell like strawberries but more like candy. If you are into sweet sugary smells then fine but this is not for me. It does not clean so well either and it leaves my hair feeling like straw. I have to condition my hair two or three times to be able to comb through it after I use this shampoo. I dont care that its really cheap because it is awful. If you dont want to spend a lot of money buy Finesse, which costs about the same and is way better. This shampoo is total garbage. I'd rather buy a pack of gum then to spend two dollars on this horrible product.

I love all the naturals shampoos but I just recently finished the ones in my shower and needed to pick up a new bottle :) I got the Vanilla Sugar, Tropical Coconut, and Strawberry scents. So this is a review for the Strawberry one. The scent is really fruity and fun, almost candy-ish so it might b=not be for everyone, but I like it enough to repurchase it hehe... It lathers up really well, rinses out fairly easily, and leaves my hair feeling clean. This also doesn't cause me to break out, which is just another reason why I return to suave for their basic, but effective shampoos and conditioners.

This product has been around since I was a kid, and I love the strawberry scent! I don't use this product often, but when I am broke, I gladly resort to buying this. My hair is somewhat thick, and naturally curly (though I frequently straighten it) and this product works about the same as most other shampoos out there. I feel that its better to invest in a great conditioner than shampoo, so to me there is nothing wrong with the Suave line as far as shampoos; their conditioners are way to weak for me though.

My friend is a hair dresser at some fancy salon and is used to using shampoo that is $40 an ounce or some ridiculous price like that. I however am a broke 21 year old that is not afraid to use a cheap product even if it is not “good” for my hair. It works! And that is all I care about. So until I win the lottery I will continue to use this. I like the raspberry scent much better than the strawberry though, but the raspberry isn’t on here.

This is ok, but kind of a sickening smell. I don't think it smells anything like fresh strawberries. More candy like strawberry scent. As far as quality of product goes... It is the typical shampoo that isn't horrible on your hair, but nothing special either. I didn't notice anything really after using this on my hair. I might buy it again if I was in desperate neeed of a cheap shampoo for like an over night trip or something, but there are many others that I like better. And I mean many others in the Suave line, because I do like Suave Shampoos, just not so crazy on this one. My favorite of all time is Juicy Green Apple. Ahh.... REFRESHING!

This left my hair feeling like straw. All Suave shampoos does this to my hair, even if I use conditioner. Love the smell though. Yummy! :)

Yuck. Granted, it smells great and leaves a nice scent on my hair, but I felt like it didn't clean my hair at all and left it feeling really weighed down and like I never even washed it.

I'm not thrilled with the scent. This is a very strong, strawberry kool-aid type scent, whereas I would prefer a softer, strawberries and cream type scent. But fragrance aside, this is a good basic shampoo. Works well as a clarifier and and as a shampoo you can alternate with conditioning or volumizing shampoos to prevent buildup. Since this can be purchased for a dollar or two (depending on whether you get the regular or family size) that cuts down on the expense of purchasing multiple shampoos. It's also a very multi-purpose product. In a pinch I've used it as a body wash and also as a bubble bath (made lots of bubbles). I've used it to clean my makeup brushes, though I generally prefer to use something with a less intrusive scent for that purpose. This is a great product at a dirt cheap price.

I am extremely impressed with this product. You can find just about any shampoo you want to use in my bathroom. Well my hair need a washing and so I went to my bathroom to decide what I'd use. I remembered that I had bought this about 2 years ago and never finished the bottle so decided to try it again. The shampoo itself was kind of messed-up a bit because a few years ago I'd accidently left the cap opena and it fell in a tub full of water, so it was half water, halp shampoo. My hair is in pretty good condition, but I usually have to use a seperate conditioner so my hair isn't really dry...but since I used to use this without conditioner and I didn't have the matching conditioner I conquered my no-conditioner fear and didn't use one...after I'd finished washing I noticed that my hair was actually pretty soft which was a real shock being I'd used no conditioner and my hair was actually was clean! So I have to say that this is a very decent shampoo, I've used better, but this still is very decent when you just want to give your hair a break from conditioner...I am really impressed and if I ever run out of this stuff, I might just repurchase!

I used to use this all the time as a kid and was intrigued enough to try it again. It's a great shampoo; nice scent (although I remember it being stronger as a kid), lathers up nicely, cleans well and leaves my hair with a clean feeling- no residues and it doesn't feel heavy. You don't get that feeling that "something is in my hair" after you rinse. And it doesn't dry out your hair either. The price is great too, less than $2. I wish the scent lasted longer. I'll definitely repurchase, although I'm experimenting with other suave scents. Still think suave out-performs alot of pricey, salon brands.
