This is a cakey, creamy formula that covers everything. EVERYTHING. I did a make up on somone with acne scars round her jawline and it totally concealed them. The colours are good- yellow rather than pink based. You can mix with eye cream to conceal shadows round the eyes - but I think I'll stick with my YSL touche eclat for this because I've used it for a while and can work with it. If you're going to use this for shadows under the eyes I'd rec mixing with a highlighter like BeneFit highbeam and an eye cream - the best way to brighten eyes is to use something that reflects light. As a concealer for blemishes this stuff is top.

When I first bought this, I gave it 4 lippies. It's a nice-feeling formula (I like this consistency as opposed to a liquid - you get coverage and blendability) and the packaging is pretty neat - you can buy more than one shade and screw them together so you can travel with more than one shade attached as one as opposed to a bunch of separate containers. That's what I did, I'm using the darker shade (pecan) on blemishes (works great), and bamboo under my eyes (works ok). UPDATE - This stuff gets better and better to me. It makes a fine eyeshadow base. AND, it covered a bruise on my chin wonderfully, when my Two Faced Blenders couldn't. Still doesn't cover my eye circles perfectly but it works good enough and I've grown to love this and its multiple uses. ANOTHER UPDATE - CanNOT believe they discontinued this... just when it was becoming a staple to me! Is that the sound of my heart sinking??

I got this in a swap after reading all the great reviews I had to have it. It covers well, but I find it hard to work with. A little does go a long way though. I have dry skin so maybe that's why I find it hard to work with.I probably won't purchase it.

Five lippies even if the packaging is difficult to work with...just because it has been my HG concealer (in Bamboo) for the last 5 years and will always be. For dry skin or fine lines, it's best used with eye cream to give it a creamier texture.

For a concealer, it's kind of expensive. But, the product is my HG concealer, and it lasts forever, so it is worth the money. I use the Balsa color and it is a good match for my skin. This product covers!! It also does not settle into little fine lines around my eyes like so many other concealers! And it doesn't wear off under foundation. I like that it has no petroleum based products and it doesn't break me out. All in all, I find Aveda makeup superb, and this is no exception. Once the product is used a bit, I have to use a brush to use it, since the concealer comes in a little pot. But that's ok, it works great either way. A little really goes a long way and I love that!

Purchased this after reading the reviews. I was a little disappointed. It does not work for me under my eyes. I am older and have lines. This stuff was too dry for my eye. Even with a good brush I found that it was too thick and pulled my skin when applying.
The good news is that it does conceal red zits and marks very well. The color is good and it has staying power.
The packaging is cheap but ok. The lid gets cross threaded sometimes when closing and I have to rework it.

Excellent concealer! Thank you MUA users for the advice. I don't have dark undereye circles so I need a concealer that covers blemishes/marks and so forth. This is a beauty!

My god, this *is* my HG concealer. I have terrible under eye circles and this is the only product i feel comfortable wearing (very natural looking) without looking like a ghost. A clay like texture. Sent from HEAVEN i will buy this product over and over again, but not too soon because ive had this for over 6 months and still not run out.

I never really trusted aveda cosmetics, but after reading all the reviews I went barefaced to the store to try this concealer. It was snowing and when I got there my skin was red and dry and awful looking. I put on some of the concealer--it's a little hard to work with, but once you get it out of the pot it's pretty smooth--and looked amazingly better. After buying it, I realized that it doesn't cover my undereye circles perfectly, but it's great for everything else. There aren't many colors but they're all really natural looking. My only complaint is that the pot is kind of tiny.

My fav. so far, but only if applied with a concealr brush. I took of one lippie cuz it kind of melts after being out for a while in the sun.
update:
I think this stuff is giving me breakouts :(, so I just use it for undercircles now

An overall great concealer for dark circles under the eyes and for any blemishes or breakouts.
It's creamier and easier to blend than MAC's pot concealer (imo) as long as I mix it with some moisturizer.
It goes on smoothly without caking.
Update: Lancome's Photogenic concealer is now my holy grail of concealers. The Conceal + Protect is good for blemishes but a bit too thick for my undereye area. It will work if you're oily in that area and I'm not.

I really love this stuff...it is the only concealer I have ever used that will stay put, not crease, and perfectly match my skin. It is quite opaque, so be careful of how much you apply. It is also rather dry, but I see that as a good point because you are less likely to goop it on that way. The color selection is really nice, I wear mine in the palest shade (birch). The price is really not bad, especially when you realize that concealers like Cle de Peau run for something like $66 (yikes!). I also trust Aveda since they are environmentally responsible and use the highest quality ingredients in their products. I like the fact that it is a pot concealer, I don't like wand concealers half as much. This works equally well on blemishes and undereye circles. For undereye circles, I just swipe on a little bit and then blend, blend, blend. Doesn't make your eyes sting! For blemishes, I dab on a tiny bit in the middle, and then pat all around toward the edges. Perfect -- a true HG:)

Now that Almay has discontinued the Amazing Lasting Concealer I've had to replace it with a newbie. Tried Aveda and was smitten from the get go. Perfect consistancy (a little goes a long way) and it goes on like silk. Stays put...no creasing or settling in fine lines and covers beautifully. Now watch..it'll be discontinued tomorrow!!!!!!!!

This is hands-down my HG undereye concealer! The texture of this is just perfect. It covers extremely well and literally lasts all day, but without all the caking or creasing into lines that I've found with countless other concealers. The color selection is excellent, too. Very neutral, wearable colors that look completely natural on anyone's skin. The $12.50 price is pretty reasonable for this generous sized pot. I'm very impressed!!!

What can I say? I had an aesthetician at work tell me that I have great skin, and I DO NOT HAVE GREAT SKIN! This stuff covers my scars, acne, rashes, and everything else that sensitive skin could produce. It also lasts forever and works perfectly over any other makeup I've tried. Tip: I've found that a good brush is the key to making this concealer work (I use the DHC lip brush).

yay! finally, a concealer pigmented enough to cover some scars. only gripe with this is that it is sometimes hard to blend with, and practically impossible to pick up witha nylon brush.

I have to say this is one of the best concealers I have ever used. And not to mention dirt cheap at $11 a pot. I use Kevin Aucoins sensual skin enhancer and YSL Touch Eclat and this concealer is just as good. It covers and does not cake up. Birch is the perfect color for me. For that price I think everyone should try it

Love this concealer! I've been using MAC Studio finish concealer for the last 4 years as I thought I would never find a concealer that covered as well...but now I've found a better concealer. This covers as well as MAC but has a nicer, smoother texture and at the end of the day it still looks good. The negatives I can think of is the annoying screw off lid and the small colour range as compared with MAC. Luckily I found a perfect match with Bamboo for my C35 skin. Will definately be repurchasing.

This is probably the only Aveda product I've ever bought that I didn't return, toss, or swap. It's good. The color blends nicely, it doesn't flake after wearing for a few hours. My one complaint with it is that the closest match to me (balsa) is too yellow for under my eyes, and the texture is too drying for that delicate skin. So I turned to Nars, which I like better, but still, if I were in a pinch, I'd repurchase this one.
