Guess it depends on where you buy this brush. I have not had any problems with shedding or scratching my face. I love this brush. It really applies the right amount of BE foundation to give me that flawless look. I was using other BE brushes but just couldnt get the coverage I wanted. Loved it when I tried this brush. Had to buy a new one since my cat took off with it and I could not find it.

When I used my first foundation, their mineral one, I thought this was the best brush you could get since it belonged to their collection. I was wrong. Now I know better. O have not used mine for the last five months, instead I have moved on to softer, higher quality brushes.
Any e. l. f. brush is better then this crap, beware!

I have this because it came in a kit but just like all other BE brushes, this is also made of terrible quality. It sheds EVERYwhere on my face, I end up runing my make up picking up little pieces of hair that get stuck to my face after I do my foundation.
It does give a heavier coverage but it also hurts my face when I buff this onto my face for an even coverage.
Anyways, it's a bad bad brush and I use this now only to apply and blend cream blush on my cheeks. I really wouldnt try to use this on my entire face ever again.
I washed it a few times and the bristles are not doing too well so it will get thrown out soon.

I bought bare escentuals matte mineral makeup about a month ago, but didnt purchase a brush to go with it because I figured one of my MAC brushes would work. that was not the case! for this foundation, i highly recommend this brush because it gives heavier coverage than other brushes you might use for other makeup. the reason for this being so (at least i think so) is because the bristles are densely packed together and are stiffer than most other brush bristles. but because of this, it might cause irritation and scratching. to be honest, all of the bare minerals brushes are harder than other brands, but they work well with THEIR brand. its a bit pricey, but when compared to other companies like MAC, it's worth it.

I really wish I had branched out from BE brushes a looooong time ago. This brush does give heavier coverage, and was my favorite BE brush for many years. It wasn't until I branched out to other brushes that I noticed how cakey this brush always made my MMU look. The brush is also incredibly scratchy, and more than once contributed to red, irritated skin on my face (I believe most BE brushes are natural hair...which for my skin is a no-no). There are far far superior brushes out there for much less money...my favorites now are from EcoTools and ELF, so there are some great deals to be had!

this product gives really good coverage. i have alot of acne scars and it covers it pretty well..without making my face look too cakey. it's way better than the full flawless face brush. i would buy it again! : )..

I got this in the BE kit... It does buff your foundation on well, but it is scratchy and the hairs fall all over my face when I use it! It makes my face red too from irritation! Also, it is not made really well- after awhile of use, the handle fell off from the metal! If it did not buff well, I would give it 1 star. I ordered the Too Faced brush set, with the kabuki and am so excited on trying that! Hopefully it will be alot better than this brush!

I agree with the reviewer below, this brush is rather prickly on the face. I find it a little too hard and compact to use with mineral foundation. I rarely use mine, opting for my much softer Eco tools mineral foundation brush over this one. Its expensive too.

I was expecting this to be so much softer but its bristles are kind of hard! i only wanted something for blusher as i generally hate flat blusher brushes - although i wouldnt suggest it for blusher after all. Apart from that I do like this brush i would say it would come in handy for a lot of different things just like the name says!

Bought this at Macy's when I was going through my BE minerals phase, but that makeup wasn't enough to cover up my dark acne scars. Now I use this brush to apply my liquid foundation and it works great. Even coverage and none of the streaks that I've experienced with regular foundation brushes. Bristles are soft and don't shed, and I wash mine every other day to eliminate bacteria. A little expensive ($20), but seems like it will last a long time.

Overall its a decent tool but I don't love it beacuse it isn't really that soft (it really hurts) I wash this brush every week but it still doesn't feel feathery enough. At first I noticed it sheds a lot but as I continued washing it every week the sheding stopped. I personally like the flawless face brush (its not as dense and less painful).

I am always trying new brushes for applying mineral makeup and this one is definitely one of my favorites. I think it helps to provide fuller coverage and it also doesn't shed at all. I have now washed mine twice and have had really no shedding problems and it also keeps its shape. I like it better then EDM flat top kabuki and that should say a lot. I will buy another one when this one wears out. I think it is pretty pricey but I bought mine on ebay for $12 so I got a good deal.

I have mixed feelings about this brush. I have been using it for years because it loads plenty of product and the long handle offers more control. But and it is a very BUT is that this brush is not soft at all!! If you just tap it onto your hand its actually prickly. Its kind of uncomfortable to deposit color around the nose area. I recently switched to a flat top brush from of all surprising places the ELF studio line which works just as well but doesn't deposit as much product. I was excited when I saw coastal scents made a version of this brush with softer bristles I was thrilled. But again! again with these awful buts it has been sold out for a long while now.

It is handy and it gets the mineral make up job done right. I don't like this brands foundation but I stick with this brush.

it is awesome! back when i was not into makeup it was the only brush i had for a very long time. And that was ok because it was pretty good for Bare Escentual's foundation and just the right size for blush. Now I've gotten the Everyday Mineral's flat Top brush, i don't use it anymore, but still use it for powder blush, it works well with that.
the only con is that it is really rough, but when your buffing you don't really feel it.

I bought this a few days ago and its lovely.I dont understand the negative reviews because its a soft and dense brush that doesnt shed. What more can you ask for? It buffs my powder in like a dream, applies my sheer blushes like a pro and I just love it.It is expensive, not as expensive as MAC but the same quality IMO.I will deff buy another of these when Im feeling flush :o)

Out of all the brushes I've tried from BE, this one is my favorite and the only one I think that is worthy of buying again. Applying powders with it is fairly easy and it gives me the coverage I want.

I got this brush with The Art of Buffing collection from Sephora, and this is the only brush that I liked from the set. It's not as scratchy or rough as the others—it's actually good quality, in my opinon. I use it mainly for applying MAC's MSFs.

This is a bit rough and, I suspect, possibly one of the reasons behind the change in the texture of my face over the past couple of years. But it does give me good coverage. I find using conditioner after shampoo when cleaning it helps to keep it a bit softer.
