the only thing i like about this is the smell - it reminds me of vanilla ice cream i used to share with my brother (so 1 additional lippie for bringing back my childhood memories).

as it contains mineral oil which is not good for skin, will not be buying this again.

This is my favorite vanilla lotion. It's not like most vanilla scents that smell kind of like burnt cake/sugar. And the smell seems to stay for a while.

This is a review for the Ultra Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream in a stand up tube different then the product pictured which is the Hydrating body lotion. I really love the
scent of this and find it to be soothing and lovely and simple. It reminds me of sleeping during the day, and has a non cloying nature unlike some VS products I’ve tried. Sometime ago I decided I didn’t want to explore or wear any vanilla fragrances. It seemed that everything I smelled was poorly composed and insipid or smelled like vanilla-cake-brulee-something or other. My mom has a wide assortment of products in the pure seduction and love spell scents. I tried them and wasn’t impressed with the moisturizing ability and thought they smelled too artificial. Now that it has been reformulated into more opaque tubes is when I smelled vanilla lace and I can’t get enough of it. It’s listed as having vanilla, orchid, amber and musk but it is to me a single vanilla note. I find the smell to be vanilla in it’s infancy, blurred and airy –
I will probably forever remember trying to identify where the soothing scent was coming from and keeping my hands close to my face while I drifted off to sleep one day.
It’s a thick buttery cream that really does moisturize well, perfect after bath before bed product. They’ve also added papain to the new versions and I think the product itself is so much better now. As for the vanilla scent? It doesn’t smell warm, nor is it sweet, there is no sugar or honey or cake batter, just a delicate clean vanilla. To me it is simply the smell of an opened vanilla flower a few feet away, diffused and unobtrusive. Its also is really reminiscent of those scented dolls I had when I was little where their plastic faces smell like this comforting vanilla and is something that seems to be composed into the fragrance rather than a by product of it. The name vanilla lace really is quite fitting; it is delicate and sheer and completely innocent.

This and amber romance are my favorite VS lotions. This has a wonderful vanilla fragrance- warm and sweet at the same time. Very moisturizing as well, and I can wear this scent in both hot and cold weather!

This is definetly one of those fragrances that is relevant to body chemistry and I think to maturity as well. I HATED this vanilla fragrance when I was a teenage and worked at the store and could have gotten it for next to nothing. I was a BBW kinda gal at the time because I preffered the super sweet bakery scents.

However fast forward almost ten years later and this is one of my favorite scents. I still do not feel it is a very "vanilla" fragrance, at elast not on my skin. But now with adult body chemistry it semlls both sexy and flirtatious. I don't get the plasticky note that some people mention. I feel its more of a vanilla with a strong floral like a violet in it. Usuaulyl I hate florals but this works for me.

I WILL say that this is a frgrance that really varies depending on the product you buy. The ultra silkening body lotion is fantastic. That and the shower gel and the edt spray are the closest to the fragrance. The ultra hydrating body cream isnt something I would buy again because the scent is hit or miss for some reason in the vanilla lace. Sometimes its normal, other bottles it seems like its not there. All bottles were purchased at the same time and I returned them but wven when I got new ones, the scent wasnt as rich in some.

The body butter in Vanilla Lace is the worst. GREAT silkening abilities-love the texture. But the scent? Non existent in this fragrance and I tried 7 different tubs before I got tired of having to go back and return them. The body butters in other scents are fine.

They have also changed the color on the original lotion-not neon yellow anymore (yay!) Its more of a soft goldy beige color. It still leaves a faint golden shimmer on my skin but I am naturally tan so it looks sexy an sunkissed. Its similar to the shimmer on the actual bottle.

I stock up on this when they have the big 8 for $35 sales.

This will always be a go-to scent for me when I just want to be chill.

I'm reviewing VS Vanilla Lace Ultra-Moisturizing Hand and Body Cream. This comes in a squeeze tube, not the bottle pictured below, although I think they still have a bottle form of this lotion! I haven't bought VS lotions in a long time just because that section of the store just smells really strong and I didn't like how they had a million different fragrances, and everyone smells the same. Anyway, I finally decided to give their lotions a try again and this lotion smells amazing. This is a 'grown up' version of vanilla, and not a cake batter vanilla smell. I love it. I've been using it every day since I bought it, and I think it smells divine. I've had compliments wearing this! I love it! It isn't as moisturizing as it says it is, but it definately also doesn't leave your hands greasy at all even after putting it all over your body. Legs feel moisturized without being sticky. I love it!

I will be the first to admit that VS lotions aren't the most moisturizing.. they have a slightly runny texture. However, I mostly buy them for the smell. This is one of the best vanilla smells I have ever smelled. It's not the cheap/fake vanilla smell. It's more of a warmer smell. It lasts a long time on me. I love this.

Victoria's Sercret was having a clearance sale so I thought I would go ans pick up some stuff. I found the Vanilla Lace body lotion and smelled it and it smelt pretty good so I purchased it. I really like the smell of it. I also like it because it left my skin a little golden tan colour, and it is very difficult for me to get a tan and this gives my skin a nice glow. I would recomend this if you are like me and can't tan. My mom tried it out, and it left her skin a orange colour. I wouldn't use this if you have tan skin. I'm very happy with this product.

This is the best vanilla body cream I tried so far, not because it's so moisturizing, (it's an o.k. moisturizer) but because I love the scent of this, I have tried all the vanilla body creams from BB&B Works, and from TBS. This is the best IMO. I layer it with other fragrances sometimes, especially D&G Sicily. It works so well with that one, and I'm sure it would layer well with other fragrances as well. The scent also lasts a long time. I'm going to buy more of this at there half-yearly sale, and probably the edt too!

This lotion is so soothing and the smell is very inviting. It is a rich vanilla with hints of amber. I like how it is not too sweet. The scent lasts on the body for a long time, and it definitely does a good job moisturizing my skin. I'd recommend!

I absoutely adore Vanilla scented products and when I found out that Victoria Secret was carrying Vanilla lace, I was so excited!!

My guy friend actually bought it for me! Haha, we don't have a Victoria Secret in Vancouver, so we had to buy it at La Senza. Imagine how embrassing it was for him!! Anyways, he loved the Victoria Secret's handcreme so much, he went out to buy 6 of them!

Definitely worth every penny, they smell greta and they make your hands so smooth!!

i ♥ this lotion, recently purchased as i was on a vanilla hunting mission for a light, subtle but lasting cream and mist for everyday use, and I found my top pick, i tried the body shops but it was to sweet and strong and too expensive for the amounts given, i want to try warm vanilla or french vanilla from bath and body works but it's not available yet in canada so I can't wait until they start opening their stores here....but now this and the body lotion and body mist are definately hgs!!!

I love the scent of this, its my sisters but I always use it. It reminds of a LOT of vanilla tapioca pudding in both color and scent. Its very subtle yet warm.

Good vanilla scents are hard to come by and I'm still on the quest for one that strikes the perfect balance between classic and exotic. I love a vanilla that is sophisticated without being stuffy, sweet without smelling like cake batter, an exotic gourmand that still manages to distance itself from hints of amber, musk or patchoulli. I found The Body Shop's Vanilla EDT overwhelming in its sweetness and L'Occitane's version to be seductively dark but with an unpleasant bitter undertone. The latter is similar to Vanilla Lace, a refreshing departure from more obnoxious, in-your-face vanillas, a sweetness tempered with a distinctly dark, bitter edge. All this would be fine if it didn't disagree with my skin chemistry and morph into a scent reminiscent of burning rubber a mere 10 minutes after application. I can only thank my lucky stars that the scent doesn't last. I find that generous layering with BBW's Fresh Vanilla body splash adds a frothy dash of caramel to the mix, rounding out the bitterness but still retaining enough darkness to be elegant. On its own, Vanilla Lace is positively horrid. To date, BBW's Fresh Vanilla and Warm Vanilla Sugar are the best vanilla scents I've had the pleasure of trying. As a body lotion, this does a decent job. It's in no way intensively moisturizing but if you don't suffer chronically dry skin and are just looking for something light and basic to see you through the warmer months, then this is an excellent pick. The lotion contains an impressive blend of linden, meadowsweet, elder flower and hawthorne extracts as well as evening primrose and chamomile oils for skin nourishing and softening benefits. It leaves my skin feeling extremely soft and satin-smooth, a sure repurchase if only it didn't smell so dank and musty. It might be purely a matter of personal skin chemistry but I wouldn't recommend this lotion to anyone. I'd choose a BBW Vanilla product any day.

I love the scent of this lotion so much. It's not oily at all but it is also not very moisturizing (I don't know why everyone else says it is).

I love this stuff almost as much as the matching body spray. The vanilla scent is sooo wonderful. The lotion is thick and rich and makes my body extra soft. You can't go wrong with this one!
